Kelly Clarkson Slows It Down for Alec Benjamin ‘Kellyoke’ Cover: Watch

Kelly Clarkson kicked off the Friday (Oct. 14) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show with a beautiful and mellow rendition of Alec Benjamin‘s2018 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Let Me Down Slowly,” featuring Alessia Cara, for “Kellyoke.”

The American Idol winner looked stunning under blue lights, rocking a black T-shirt, cheetah-print skirt and black boots while singing her heart out with her piano player in the background.

“Could you find a way to let me down slowly?” Clarkson sang. “A little sympathy, I hope you can show me/ If you wanna go, then I’ll be so lonely/ If you’re leavin’, baby, let me down slowly.”

Clarkson earned a standing ovation from her impressed crowd for her powerhouse vocals on the cover.

“Let Me Down Slowly” appeared on Benjamin’s 2018 mixtape Narrate for You and is the singer/songwriter’s lone Hot 100 hit, peaking at No. 79. The Arizona native said the song illustrates his first relationship. “I wanted to talk about one moment where I felt especially vulnerable, which is something I don’t think a lot of people talk about,” he told Billboard in 2018.

Benjamin collaborated with Cara after the songstress said she liked the song on Twitter. “I sent her my phone number. I said, ‘Want to do a verse?’ Two days later, she sent me a voice memo she recorded at home,” Benjamin said. “You can record her voice on an iPhone and it sounds as good as anything. She added a lot of really cool harmonies, and her perspective brought new meaning to the song.”

Broadcaster Bob Costas Accidentally Mixes Up Justin Bieber & MLB Star Shane Bieber

Is it too late now for Bob Costas to say “Sorry”? The legendary broadcaster had a minor, lighthearted slip-up while working the New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians game.

According to a video shared by TMZ from the game, during Game 2 of the American League Division Series on Friday afternoon (Oct. 14), Costas accidentally mixed up the name of Guardians’ pitcher Shane Bieber with pop star Justin Bieber at the top of the sixth inning.

“Justin Bieber just threw his 84th pitch,” he said, before he quickly realized his mistake and joked, “Did I actually call Shane Bieber ‘Justin Bieber?’ I vowed that would not happen.”

TMZ also talked to Shane after the game, and the 27-year-old baseball player was a good sport about the whole thing, saying that it just “a matter of time” before the mistake happened.

Back in 2019, a Topps baseball card of Shane featured the name of the pop star, not the player. Shane even joke about it on Twitter, sharing a picture of the card, circling Justin’s name on it and writing, “Nice.”

Justin later replied, tweeting, “I feel like we have a special connection.”

A few weeks after that, Justin took the joke even further. The “Love Yourself” singer shared a photo of himself riding around on a motorcycle wearing a black jersey with “Not Shane Bieber” written across the shoulders. During Player’s Weekend, where ballers were allowed to wear jerseys with their nicknames on them, Shane busted out a black jersey that read “Not Justin.”

Colombian boy band Piso 21 gifted fans with their fourth studio album 777 — home to 16 tracks. The set kicks off with the Manuel Turizo-assisted “Los Cachos,” which can be considered a sequel to their 2018 banger “Dejala Que Vuelva.” Unlike “Dejala,” about a guy convinced his ex will come back, “Los Cachos” is about a girl who has officially moved on from her cheating boyfriend, with no plans of taking him back. From there, the group navigates to “TDQ” in collaboration with the Puerto Rican duo Gigolo y La Exce. In this hard-hitting reggaeton, the group talk about a rebellious soul who’s breaking the quarantine rule because she’s single and ready to mingle. That same type of energy is heard in “Nadie La Controla,” a reggaeton-turned-merengue ripiao’ about a girl who’s the center of attention and can’t be controlled.

Meanwhile, Favela released his most personal album to date. The Mexican singer-songwriter sticks to his signature romantic lyrics to narrate stories of heartbreak, lust and love. As expected, the Sinaloan artist opts to go solo and doesn’t feature a single artist on the 12-track set. He also wrote the entire album — his most personal one yet that thrives on direct and raw lyrics. Aclarando leans more norteño-pop with his dad’s accordion heard throughout the LP.

Other notable releases include Paty Cantú‘s “Mi Película” and Farruko‘s “Viaje,” on which the Puerto Rican artist continues his spiritual journey toward enlightenment via song.

Here’s Every Hot 100 No. 1 Song With ‘Bad’ in the Title

In the long history of the Billboard Hot 100, it’s pretty rare for a specific word to appear across the title of multiple No. 1s. With the exception of “love” (because love songs have never and will never go out of style), the lack of commonalities make it impossible to say there’s a formula for crafting the title of a hit. But in digging through Billboard’s list of chart-toppers, we found another word that has surprisingly made quite the mark on the U.S. songs chart: “bad.”

The irony is obvious. While Merriam-Webster defines “bad” as “failing to reach an acceptable standard,” “morally objectionable” and “unpleasant,” musical acts across a handful of genres have defied tradition and hit No. 1 thanks to the word — and it’s happened numerous times over the decades. In 1961, Jimmy Dean’s “Big Bad John” became the first “bad” title to reach the chart’s peak. Bon Jovi did it twice in the ‘80s with “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Bad Medicine.” And, most recently, Steve Lacy earned his first-ever Hot 100 chart-topper with “Bad Habit” in October 2022.

We have to mention that “bad” has also evolved to encompass another meaning over the years. Confusingly, in many 21st-century cases, it’s slang for something more positive (like “good,” “sexy” or “badass”) — including its use in Migos’ 2017 No. 1 “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert.

Here’s Where JoJo Siwa Stands With Candace Cameron Bure After Their Public Back-and-Forth

JoJo Siwa has officially moved on from her back-and-forth with Fuller House actress Candace Cameron Bure — not because of a reconciliation, but because enough time has passed to let bygones be bygones.

Speaking with E! News this week, the Dance Moms alum gave some clarity on her status with Bure.

“I’ll be honest,” Siwa told the outlet. “I haven’t spoken to her at all since the whole thing. I think she’s alive and thriving. I think I’m alive and thriving.”

In fact, the 19-year-old says she’s been embroiled in a few other issues that have allowed her to move past the drama. “We’re…civil? I don’t know … I’ve got like three problems since that one, so we’re moved on.”

Siwa and Bure’s feud started in July when Siwa revealed that Bure was the rudest celebrity she ever met in a TikTok challenge video. After Siwa’s comments went viral, Bure explained her actions in a video posted to Instagram, blaming the chaos of the red carpet for not taking a photo with a then-11-year-old Siwa.

In the video, Bure also told her followers that she and Siwa talked through their issues on the phone, but on July 28, Siwa spoke to Page Six and claimed Bure “didn’t share all of the details of the meeting.” She added, “It was at the afterparty that she didn’t wanna take a picture with me, and I was OK with that. But then I turned around, and when I looked back, she was taking pictures with other kids.”

Despite Siwa calling the actress out for not including certain details on social media, she did note that Bure apologized to her. “It was sweet,” she told Page Six of their phone call. “She apologized and we talked and it was cool.”

You Have to Check Out This Wild Halloween Light Show Featuring Metallica, ‘Ghostbusters’ Theme & More

‘Tis the season — spooky season, that is. This Linden, Calif., neighborhood home takes Halloween decor to a whole new level.

The house, which goes by Magical Light Shows on Facebook and via its website, uploaded the 2022 edition of their popular ghoulish light shows to YouTube, and it’s potentially their best one yet.

For Metallica‘s “Master of Puppets,” an angry jack-o-lantern belts out the lyrics as the massive home behind it flashes in creepy light displays, complete with light up gravestones and a drone-powered light show 400 feet above the house. “Come crawling faster / Obey your master / Your life burns faster / Obey your master, master,” the pumpkin shouts. The show then delves into the iconic theme from the 1984 classic film, Ghostbusters.

The title track to Metallica’s 1986 Master of Puppets album has gotten a major bump this past year thanks to its inclusion in the thrilling season 4 finale of the Netflix mega-hit series Stranger Things. The song soared onto the Billboard charts dated July 16 thanks to Things, making its first appearance on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 at No. 40, marking the rockers’ first time on the chart since “The Day That Never Comes” wrapped its run in November 2008, after reaching No. 31 that September.

“I made this show for free for our community. We are big fans and this was a project of passion,” the Magical Light Shows video description reads.

Slipknot Continues No. 1 Streak on Top Rock & Alternative Albums Chart

Slipknot‘s The End, So Far continues the band’s string of No. 1s on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts, debuting atop all three rankings dated Oct. 15.

End bows with 59,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 6, according to Luminate, with 50,000 from album sales.

Each of Slipknot’s studio LPs has ruled the three charts since the lists’ inceptions (Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums in 2006, Top Hard Rock Albums in 2007). Prior to End, the band, which formed in Iowa in 1995, reigned with 2008’s All Hope Is Gone, followed by 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter and 2019’s We Are Not Your Kind.

End concurrently starts at No. 2 on the all-format Billboard 200, marking the band’s sixth top five title, and No. 1 on Top Album Sales, its fourth ruler.

Six songs from End appear on the multi-metric Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, led by current single “Yen,” which re-enters at No. 6 on the strength of 1.1 million official U.S. streams and 736,000 airplay audience impressions. The top debut from the album is “Hive Mind” at No. 12 (1.5 million streams).

“Yen” and “The Dying Song (Time to Sing)” also rank on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs at Nos. 47 and 50, respectively.

“Yen,” the album’s second radio single, has reached No. 16 on Mainstream Rock Airplay, this week placing at No. 17 with a new high in weekly plays. Preceding single “The Chapeltown Rag” hit No. 28 last December.

Duolingo Shocks Twitter With Very Suggestive Katy Perry Tweet

Duolingo got a little too comfortable on Twitter on Wednesday (Oct. 12), when the language learning app reposted a throwback video of Katy Perry at the 2010 Kids’ Choice Awards.

In the clip, a blue-haired Perry goes on stage and opens a box, when a violent stream of green slime explodes in her face, which is a typical prank at the Nickelodeon awards show. Now, Duolingo, which has a green owl as a mascot, suggestively retweeted it and wrote, “hold up is that my –.”

We won’t get into the nitty gritty of the innuendo, but we’ll let your imagination take it from here.

At the time of publication, the tweet has more than half a million likes and 47,000 retweets, mostly filled with playful shock from fans for such a bold move on Duolingo’s part. “We’re all thinking it, i just said it,” the educational program wrote in defense.

Perry has yet to respond to Duolingo’s NSFW advances, but she’s likely busy working on new music. In an interview with Drew Barrymore last month, the “Daisies” singer hinted at making a new album. “I’ll probably go and make another record soon and write it and tour the world after this, which will be so great,” Perry continued as Barrymore let out a gasp. “But I’m pretty, like, even offstage. I’m more, like, businesswoman; I don’t talk a lot offstage. … I’m very, kind of, an observer. I really save my energy for when I have to go and turn it on. ‘Cause when I turn it on, it’s up to 11, girl.”

How to Watch BTS’ Live ‘Yet to Come’ World Expo 2030 Busan Korea Concert

Heads up, ARMY: BTS is performing in concert this weekend, and you’re all invited to watch.

The guys of the world’s biggest boy band — Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook — have partnered with Weverse to livestream a festival-style show for millions of fans, who are invited to attend virtually from all over the world. Keep reading to see all the details on how to tune in.

What Is the Concert?

in Busan is a global livestreamed BTS concert, planned to showcase the boyband’s support of Busan’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo. Busan is one of four cities in the running to host the event — a world’s fair proposed to take place in 2030 — with Rome; Odesa, Ukraine; and
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia also being considered. The Bureau International des Expositions will vote on the winning host country next year.

In July, the BTS boys were appointed honorary ambassadors for Busan’s World Expo 2030 bid. The band was chosen “because they understand the importance of the World Expo and share the same values,” according to a statement from BTS’ record label, Big Hit.

When and Where Will the Concert Take Place?

BTS is scheduled to perform at 6 p.m. KST (5 a.m. ET) this Saturday (Oct. 15). They’ll take the stage in Busan Asiad Main Stadium in Busan, South Korea.

The concert’s venue was originally planned to be Ilgwang Special Stage, but Big Hit later announced in a September press release that the location had been changed to Busan Asiad Main Stadium “to preserve the main purpose of the concert and for the audience to have a smooth, enjoyable and accessible viewing experience.”

How to Watch on Weverse

Then, come concert time, all you’ll need to do to watch BTS perform on your computer is click this link. Alternatively, stream the concert on the mobile Weverse app or on the Weverse Smart TV app.

The livestream will have eight different languages available for subtitles to help ensure that ARMY from around the world can enjoy the show. The languages are Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai.
