The event, which was curated by Benji B and produced by Virgil Abloh Securities, will be held during Art Basel on Dec. 3 FPL Solar Amphitheater at Bayfront Park in Miami. All profits from the event will benefit the Virgil Abloh Foundation, set to launch next year.

Yves Tumor, Pedro, Venus X, BAMBII, Rampa and Acyde are also set to perform at the festival.

Abloh, who served as men’s artistic director of Louis Vuitton, died in November 2021 at age 41 after a private battle with cancer. He founded the streetwear-focused luxury label Off-White and served as Kanye West’s longtime creative director, later ascending to the prestigious role at Louis Vuitton in 2018, becoming the label’s first African-American artistic director.

“Virgil had the ability to bring everyone together to create magic,” said Abloh’s widow Shannon Abloh — who is also the CEO and managing director of Virgil Abloh Securities — in a press statement to Spin. “With his close collaborators, we wanted to bring everyone together to celebrate Virgil — his legacy, his passion, and his care for others. He believed his real work was championing others and we will continue his work supporting youth in the arts with the launch of the Virgil Abloh Foundation in 2023.”

Tickets go on sale for Mirror Mirror Music festival on Wednesday (Nov. 23) at 10 a.m. ET here.

The Weeknd Is Down for SZA to Re-Record Scrapped ‘Die for You’ Remix

Living for it! The Weeknd offered his thoughts Tuesday (Nov. 22) about potentially revisiting a remix of his 2017 single “Die for You” with SZA.

The topic came up when a fan asked SZA about the pair’s long-rumored remix of the Starboy-era song, which was never released. “SZA I know you don’t like rumors, can you clarify this for us??” the Instagram user asked, to which SZA replied, “Lmao it’s super old but it does exist. I should re record it.”

While the “Shirt” songstress has since deleted her comment, a screenshot of the exchange caught The Weeknd’s eye, and he endorsed the idea by retweeting it and writing simply “yes please.” Interestingly, the original track has recently found a second life thanks to its re-emergence as a hit on TikTok, even reaching a new high of No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 (chart dated Nov. 26).

In her brand-new Billboard cover story, SZA finally confirmed that she’s readying the release of her long-awaited sophomore album, titled S.O.S, after a more than five-year wait since her celebrated 2017 debut Ctrl.

Check out The Weeknd’s stamp of approval on a new “Die for You” remix with SZA below.

Back in October, it was reported that Ice Cube departed Sony’s upcoming comedy Oh Hell No, in which he would’ve co-starred with Jack Black, after declining a request from producers to get vaccinated. Ice Cube and Black partnered on the project in June, and the Sony film was looking to shoot this winter in Hawaii with Kitao Sakurai in the director’s seat. The film has since pushed back its production start.

Dua Lipa Shares Sweet Message for ‘My Most Magical Friend’ Elton John

On Monday, Dua Lipa was still reveling over spending her weekend performing with Elton John at his final U.S. tour date at L.A.’s Dodger Stadium.

“To my most magical friend @eltonjohn thank you for keeping the dream alive!!!” she wrote on social media alongside a video of herself and the superstar performing their hit collab “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)” for the first time at the Sunday (Nov. 22) show. “It was an honour, a privilege and a joy to share the stage with you last night on your last show at the Dodgers Stadium. Thank you for everything, forever and always. I love you!!! Still taking this all in…”

Sir Elton returned the love in the comments section of the post, writing, “A magical moment! Thank you for everything, Dua. I love you,” followed by a trio of red heart emojis.

The “Levitating” singer also shared a look at the glam black gown she wore on the red carpet ahead of the star-studded show, which was broadcast live on Disney+. “I never could have imagined I would’ve been a part of a night like this when I was first starting out. A real dream #eltonjohnfarewelltour,” she captioned the Instagram carousel.

Hours later, Lipa followed her posts up with a sweet selfie with none other than Joni Mitchell. In the candid snap, she sits on the armrest of a chair sweetly hugging the folk legend, who is dressed in a head-to-toe red ensemble and braids. The younger pop star seemed positively starstruck by the encounter, only managing to write “JONI MITCHELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” in the caption with a red heart punctuated by just as many exclamation points. Mitchell was also part of the Disney+ livestream, sending a sweet message of support to her longtime friend Elton.

In a final batch of photos, Dua Lipa posed with a few more celebrities at the concert, including Donatella Versace and model Stella Maxwell in the crowd and fellow guest performers Brandi Carlile and Kiki Dee backstage.

Jung Kook’s 19 Best Solo Musical Moments

Throughout Jung Kook‘s professional career, the BTS superstar has made a point to use his birthday to share more of himself as a musician with fans. Whether it’s been to upload a cover of a song by any of his favorite artists or share work-in-progress demos of his solo work, Jung Kook uses every Sept. 1 to celebrate music in a big way.

Even before his official debut with BTS in 2013, Jung Kook had shared covers and collaborated with his band members on SoundCloud tracks — crucial early steps in creating the BTS ARMY we know today. Despite being the group’s youngest member — who debuted when he was still a teenager — Jung Kook has always taken the time to share the latest artists and tracks he loves while also giving fans glimpses into his budding career as a soloist.

While BTS ensured the focus remained on the group during their first nine years together, the moments each member has been able to show on his own are particularly precious. From memorable performances at awards shows to different television appearances, Jung Kook has made sure that each of his solo moments — sometimes alongside artists he enjoys, including individual BTS members — counts.

To celebrate BTS’ “golden maknae,” take the time to honor Jung Kook’s musicality with his best moments as a soloist. With works uploaded as early as 2013 to his first top 40 hit as a soloist, one can hear the ongoing growth and development in his vocals, technique, showmanship and confidence through the years.

Below, revisit the performances where Jung Kook acts as one of the leading performers and enjoy the evolution.

Following the news of the deadly mass shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, over the weekend, a number of music stars have taken to social media to speak out against gun violence and prejudice. “The hatred and the prejudice against any marginalized group is historically political,” the message reads, before noting that prejudices go beyond the “polls” and reflect in society. “You’re either perpetuating love or perpetuating hatred. Anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric is hatred, be it in policy or a locker room conversation.”

The band continued, “Politicians and other powerful people have a choice. Just like walking in to a nightclub full of human beings and taking their lives was a choice in favor of hatred. If you spew hate and it echoes, expect an infinite amount of potential outcomes. Including people coming to the conclusion that maybe it’s time to start holding people accountable for the way they use their power to divide and normalize hatred.”

Paramore concluded their statement by sending love to Colorado Springs. “The LGBTQIA+ community and the families and friends who lost precious people who are more than just a statistic or headline,” they wrote.

A 22-year-old gunman opened fire at Club Q late Saturday night (Nov. 19), killing five people and injuring at least 18 others before he was subdued by patrons and arrested by police. The club released a statement on Sunday, nothing that they were “devastated by the senseless attack on our community.”

Two firearms, including a “long rifle,” were found at the scene at Club Q, said Colorado Springs Police Department Chief Adrian Vasquez. The violence is the sixth mass killing this month and comes in a year when the nation was shaken by the deaths of 21 in a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Best New Christmas Songs in 2022: Lizzo, Camila Cabello & More

Sleigh bells ring and your favorite artists sing — are you listening? Everyone from Lizzo to Phoebe Bridgers has specially released new holiday songs in 2022, just in time for the happiest time of year.

Better yet, this year’s bounty of festive tunes features a Thanksgiving dinner table-full of different genres. Camila Cabello is offering up some Mariachi merriment, Kane Brown has a countrified carol to contribute and The Linda Lindas have tied a bow on a punk-rock present for their fans.

Some musicians went particularly above and beyond this year, with Backstreet Boys, Alicia Keys and Debbie Gibson all dropping full-length Xmas albums. And Sia, who created a modern seasonal classic in 2017 with her hit “Snowman,” revisited her 2018 album Everyday Is Christmas by releasing a deluxe edition complete with three all new holly jolly tunes.

This batch of artists is clearly excited to either join the holiday canon or make further additions to it, and who can blame them? Christmas songs are just as evergreen as balsam trees; unlike most hits that eventually fade into oldies status, they unfailingly come back in style every single year. In fact, a record 39 holiday songs occupied spots on the Hot 100 just two years ago.

You can even keep an eye on which jingles are trending by checking Billboard‘s list (and checking it twice!) of top Holiday Airplay songs, or by perusing the Holiday 100. And if you need even more inspiration on which tracks to add to your wintertime playlists after reading this roundup of newbies, try taking a look at Billboard‘s 2021 ranking of the best Christmas songs of all time.

But for now, keep reading to see which artists have released new holiday songs in 2022 below.

All the 2022 World Cup Songs (Updating)

The FIFA Men’s World Cup, one of the biggest sporting events in the world, kicked off Nov. 20 with the Ecuador vs. Qatar (host country) match. As has been tradition for many years now, a select number of songs soundtrack the global soccer event, in which 32 teams — representing different countries — participate and, in the end, one is crowned the World Cup champion.

Songs such as Ricky Martin‘s “Cup of Life,” the official song of the 1998 event held in France, and Shakira‘s “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 World Cup in Africa have become anthems for soccer fans, and given the event’s popularity, they’ve also had a presence on the Billboard charts. “Waka Waka” peaked at No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated July 3, 2010, while Martin’s euphoric “Cup of Life” peaked at No. 45 on the Hot 100 in 1998.

So far, a number of songs tied to this year’s World Cup have been released, with a few being part of the official FIFA soundtrack and others that aren’t but are still worthy of a mention.

In April, FIFA released the first single, titled “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” from the official soundtrack. The uplifting track, featuring Trinidad Cardona, Davido and Aisha, fuses R&B and reggae influences. Four months later, the football federation released the second song from the soundtrack titled “Arhbo,” with Latin star Ozuna and French Congolese rapper Gims. “Arhbo” is a local slang word for “welcome” in Qatar and comes from the Arabic word “Marhaba.” For the first time, the tournament’s soundtrack will feature a multi-song collection, with international artists “showcasing diverse musical genres that span the world, setting the tone for a truly global celebration,” according to FIFA.

Below, find an updating list of the 2022 World Cup-themed songs that have been released.
