Two Barbra Streisand Albums Are Coming Ahead of Her Memoir

Fans of iconic multi-hyphenate Barbra Streisand have extra reason to feel like the luckiest people in the world this fall. Not only will the eight-time Grammy winner release her memoir, My Name is Barbra, on Nov. 7, but in late October, Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings will release two albums.

EVERGREENS: Celebrating Six Decades on Columbia Records and YENTL: 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition will come out on CD and digitally on Oct. 27. EVERGREENS will be a little bit different than any previous Streisand collection – zero of its tracks have appeared on previous compilations. Per the press release, “[The songs] were chosen by Barbra to convey her emotional connection to these melodies and lyrics – each holding a special place in her heart and memory.” The first taste of the comp is available now as an instant grat track – it’s a “2023 Mix” of her Oscar- and Grammy-winning Billboard Hot 100 chart topper “Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star is Born).” But beyond that three-week No. 1, none of the songs on this album impacted the Hot 100 (one song was previously unreleased), being selected for EVERGREENS for personal rather than commercial reasons. You can see what other songs feature on the 22-track compilation below.

The anniversary edition of the Yentl soundtrack, which was a top 10 hit on the Billboard 200, boasts 15 songs, the majority of which are tantalizing rarities. The album features 11 demo versions of Yentl songs, recordings that Streisand made in her living room with the late, legendary composer Michael Legrand on piano as her only accompaniment. Ahead of the Oct. 27 release, a demo version of “Papa, Can You Hear Me?” will leave the vault and see the light of day.

Ed Sheeran to Perform ‘Autumn Variations’ Album in Full During Pair of Royal Albert Hall Gigs in London

Ed Sheeran will perform his upcoming Autumn Variations album in full at a pair of gigs at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Nov. 18-19. The singer tweeted a poster for the event on Friday morning (Sept. 8), which dubs the gigs the “Last Days of Autumn,” along with a hand-drawn image of an acorn.

Autumn Variations will drop on Sept. 29 through Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records as the follow-up to his latest maths-series album, – (Subtract); both collections were produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner. The album will hit one week after the North American leg of Ed’s Mathematics World Tour wraps at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles on September 23.

In a response to fan questions, Sheeran assured Sheerios that if they’ve already pre-ordered the album from the official store they will be automatically eligible for the show pre-sale. Pre-sale access codes and instructions will be emailed to eligible fans beginning at 5 p.m. BST on Sept. 13; click here for full information on ticketing options.

The Royal Albert Hall’s tweet about the show noted that it will be Sheeran’s final UK performance of the year and that the singer will be accompanied by a live band and a full string section.

“Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head or imploded,” Sheeran explained in a note announcing the album. “When I went through a difficult time at the start of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on, and when I learned about my friend’s different situations, I wrote songs, some from their perspectives, some from mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at that time. There were highs of falling in love and new friendships among lows of heartbreak, depression, loneliness and confusion.”

Autumn Variations is Sheeran’s second album this year, following on the heels of Subtract, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums in May. The album also launched at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart, with Sheeran’s largest sales week since 2017.

Zach Bryan Posts Video About Oklahoma Arrest, Says He Got ‘Too Lippy’ With Officers: ‘I Don’t Think I’m Above the Law’

After his arrest on Thursday evening (Sept. 7) in Oklahoma for obstruction of an investigation, Zach Bryan posted a video on Friday morning (Sept. 8) further explaining what happened during the incident in which he said he got “too lippy” with officers.

Bryan is sitting in his car in the nearly five-minute clip, speaking directly to fans while driving to New York with his dog Jack in the passenger seat. “I just wanted to be completely transparent with everyone who listens to my music about what happened yesterday with me getting arrested,” said the singer who just scored his first Billboard 200 No. 1 album with his new self-titled project and his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 song with “I Remember Everything,” featuring Kacey Musgraves.

Prefacing his story by saying that he will have to deal with the “legalities” of the arrest, that he did go to jail and that police did not play any favorites with him, Bryan bluntly said, “I was an idiot today. My decisions did not reflect who I was as a person… I should have been smarter about it”; in an earlier social media post, Bryan said he’d had an “incident” with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and that “emotions got the best of me, and I was out of line in the things I said.”

He then laid out what he said was the full timeline of events, which Bryan explained began three days ago when he was driving through a small town in Oklahoma, where he was pulled over by a police office for going “4-5 [miles] over” the speed limit. The singer said after being asked for his license, registration and address, he explained to the officer that he was not comfortable giving out his address because of his notoriety as a musician.

Bryan said the officer informed him that if he did not give his address he would go to jail. “I’m like, ‘man, I’m not gonna give you my address,’” Bryan said he told the cop, who then allegedly asked him to step out of the vehicle, at which point the singer said he was handcuffed. “I’m like, ‘man, what the hell is going on? Why are you doing this?’” he recalled saying.

After Bryan discussed it with the officer, he agreed to give his address and the cuffs were taken off, but the encounter “frustrated me a lot because I didn’t know if I had a right to refuse giving him my address,” he said. Fast forward to Thursday, when Bryan tells his security guard that he’s driving to Boston to see his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles, play the New England Patriots in Foxborough on Sunday.

The pair begin driving and Bryan said they were 40 minutes from his Tulsa house — with his security guard trailing him in another car — when he saw his security get pulled over. Bryan said he pulled around the block and parked his car near his security guard’s and waited for the traffic stop to conclude. After 15 minutes Bryan said he wondered why it was taking so long, so he got out of his car. “I was gonna smoke a cigarette [and] the cop comes up to me and he’s like, ‘sir, get back in your vehicle.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m not the one getting pulled over,’” Bryan said he told the officer.

When told he would go to jail if he didn’t get back in his car, “like a dumbass I said, ‘take me to f—ing jail? What do you mean?’” Bryan said he replied, admitting that he got “too lippy” with the cop, who then brought him over to his cruiser. “I didn’t help my situation at all,” Bryan said of his confrontation with the patrolman. “I felt like a child, it was ridiculous, it was immature. And I just pray everyone knows I don’t think I’m above the law. I was just being disrespectful and I shouldn’t have been and it was my mistake.”

After getting cuffed for the second time in three days — Bryan noted that the restraints were tight on his wrists — the singer was placed in the front seat of the cruiser, where he engaged in some back-and-forth about how the handcuffs hurt. He said the officer told him, “they’re not supposed to be comfortable.” Bryan said he began getting “more angry and angry” about the situation, “which is the worst thing you can do.”

After 15 minutes Bryan said he was released from the police cruiser, at which point he said he was just “mouthing off, like an idiot. Like an actual child. I’m like, ‘man, someone’s gotta get a hold of you guys. Why are you using your authority like this? This is so wrong.’ When in reality they were just doing their jobs. I was upset.”

He said the officer then explained that he was going to talk to Bryan and he didn’t want to be interrupted, after which Bryan said he would listen, but then he wanted to respond. “He started talking, I interrupted him. Naturally, because I was just angry,” Bryan said. The officer then informed the singer that he was taking him to jail, where he spent several hours, during which Bryan said he “cooled off a little bit.”

He said everyone in booking at the Vinita, OK jail was very kind to him and that he and the arresting officer ended up shaking hands, after which he posted his online apology note. “I was just an idiot and I’ll take the fall for it,” Bryan said. “I’m a grown man and I shouldn’t have behaved like that. And it won’t happen again.”

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion Reunite For ‘Bongos’: Stream It Now

You thought it was over? Think again! Record-breaking “WAP” collaborators Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are back with a new single titled “Bongos.” The song officially hit all digital download and streaming platforms on Friday, Sep. 8.

Obviously, “Bongos” serves as the first collaboration between the two rap queens since 2020’s “WAP,” but don’t make any rash assumption about the new song. “I wonder how people are gonna react to this vibe because they’re really, like, expecting ‘WAP,’ like, ‘oh, here they go again talking this and that,’” Cardi said. “We are talking a little, you know, about some p—y, but not like ‘WAP’ type of stuff.”

Cardi first announced “Bongos” via social media on Monday, Sep. 4. She shared the track’s cover art, which features her and Megan sucking on lollipops while posing in elaborate multi-colored wigs and skimpy swimsuits. The song’s announcement came less than two weeks after the Bronx rapper told Vogue México y Latinoamérica, “I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to put out my next solo single.” While it is still unclear if “Bongos” will appear on Cardi’s forthcoming sophomore studio album, fans can bask in the song’s “intricate… beautiful” accompanying music video.

“Bongos” is the latest in a string of Cardi B collaborations this year. Prior to this, she scored Billboard Hot 100 hits alongisde Latto (“Put It On Da Floor Again,” No. 13), Fendi DaRappa (“Point Me 2,” No. 82) and husband Offset (“Jealousy,” No. 55). The new collaboration will also serve as Megan Thee Stallion’s first release of the year. The Houston rapper has been taking sometime for herself to focus on her physical and mental health following her shooting at the hands of Tory Lanez and the lengthy trial and media circus that followed.

“WAP” debuted atop the Hot 100 on the chart dated Aug. 22. The song debuted with 93 million official on-demand U.S. streams in its first full week of availability, the greatest total for any song in history. The culture-shifting collaboration — which spurred thousands of FCC complaints after the two artists performed it at the 2021 Grammys — ultimately spent four weeks atop the Hot 100.

On the Hot 100, Cardi B has earned five No. 1 singles, including “Bodak Yellow,” “Girls Like You” (with Maroon 5) and “Up.” Invasion of Privacy, her debut studio album, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has spent over 220 weeks on the ranking. Megan Thee Stallion has earned five top 10 titles on the Billboard 200 and three top 10 singles on the Hot 100, including the No. 1 single “Savage” (with Beyoncé).

Olivia Rodrigo Spills Her ‘Guts’ On New Album: Stream It Now

Olivia Rodrigo’s new album is here, and it’s only “logical” that you hit play as soon as possible. Guts, the sophomore studio effort from the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star, officially arrived on Friday, Sept. 8.

Rodrigo has been teasing the follow-up to Sour for over a year now. After dropping Easter eggs in Spotify canvases and teasing fans with seconds-long snippets, she unleashed lead single “Vampire” on June 30. The single became Rodrigo’s third to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100, and has since spent nearly every week post-release in the chart’s top 10. A promotional single titled “Bad Idea Right?” followed on Aug. 11. That song featured a markedly more frantic tempo to complement the ballad-rock opera fusion that was “Vampire.” “Bad Idea Right?” entered Hot Rock & Alternative Songs at No. 1, becoming her second overall entry and second No. 1 single on the chart.

Guts marks the reunion of Rodrigo and Sour collaborator Dan Nigro; Rodrigo is a credited writer on each of the album’s twelve tracks, and Nigro is a credited producer on each track as well. With Sour, Rodrigo and Nigo struck gold. The album won thee Grammys (including best pop vocal album), spent five weeks atop the Billboard 200, and spawned the Hot 100 No. 1 singles “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U.” The tracklist for Guts, in addition to the aforementioned singles, includes eye-popping titles such as “All-American Bitch” and “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl.”

In just a few days (Sep. 12), Rodrigo will perform at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. This year, the “Traitor” singer boasts six nominations, including video of the year, song of the year and best pop (all for “Vampire”). In 2021, she won three Moonpeople, including best new artist and song of the year (“Drivers License”).

Rodrigo has 14 entries on the Hot 100, including six top ten hits: “Drivers License” (No. 1), “Good 4 U” (No. 1), “Vampire” (No. 1), “Deja Vu” (No. 3), “Traitor” (No. 9) and “Bad Idea Right?” (No. 10). On the Artist 100, she has spent six overall weeks at the summit.

Zach Bryan Arrested in Oklahoma

Zach Bryan was arrested Thursday evening (Sept. 7) in Oklahoma for obstruction of investigation, according to the Craig County Sheriff’s Office.

There are currently no other details on the country/rock star’s arrest, which was first reported by TMZ.

Bryan was born in Oologah, Oklahoma, and lives in nearby Tulsa, while the sheriff’s office where he was booked and photographed is in Vinita, Oklahoma — an hour northeast of Tulsa.

As TMZ noted, Bryan’s most recent social media post is a photo of his dog in the passenger seat of a car with the caption “On the road again, gonna go see the birds win.” The Instagram Story is timestamped around 7 p.m. ET, so near the time of his booking at 7:42 p.m. ET (6:42 p.m. local time), according to the Craig County Sheriff’s website. It appears that Bryan is en route to see his favorite NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles, take on the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday for their week 1 match-up.

It’s been a banner professional week for the breakout music star, who scored his first Billboard 200 No. 1 album with his new self-titled project and his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 song with “I Remember Everything,” featuring Kacey Musgraves, debuting atop both lists this week. Concurrently, all 16 songs from the album debut on the Hot 100.

Bryan broke through in 2022 with his American Heartbreak album and its slow-burning hit song “Something in the Orange,” which was a top 10 hit on the Hot 100.

TWICE Expands ‘Ready to Be Tour’ in 2024 With New Brazil Concert

TWICE‘s Ready to Be Tour is still in full swing, and now fans in Brazil can get tickets to an extra date.

The K-pop group — Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu — announced via X, formerly known as Twitter, that tickets for the new concert were officially available to purchase.

The expansion will see the K-pop stars heading to Latin America — first with a previously announced stop in Mexico City at For Sol on Feb. 3, and now two dates at São Paolo’s Allianz Parque Feb. 6-7. São Paolo initially received a single concert date, but due to high demand, the tickets sold out just hours after becoming available to purchase, with the second Feb. 7 date being added. The feat earned TWICE the title of being the first K-pop girl group to sell out a stadium show in São Paolo.

Though the first São Paolo date is sold out, the Billboard Women in Music honorees revealed that tickets for the second date will be available to purchase starting Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. local time.

TWICE will hit a few more countries before embarking on the new leg of its tour — the girl group is currently on its U.K. and European portion of the tour, which kicks off with two dates at London’s O2 Sept. 7-8 and will make additional stops in France and Germany.

Foo Fighters Rewrite Mainstream Rock Airplay Top 10 Record With ‘Under You’

Foo Fighters break the record for the most top 10s on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, as “Under You” climbs from No. 11 to No. 9 on the Sept. 9-dated survey.

“Under You” sprints to the top 10 in its fifth week on the chart, giving the Dave Grohl-led rockers 31 top career 10s.

That solely marks the most in the Mainstream Rock Airplay survey’s 42-year history, snapping Foo Fighters out of a tie with Shinedown.

Foo Fighters first hit the Mainstream Rock Airplay top 10 with their debut single “This Is a Call,” which reached No. 6 in August 1995. They currently have a streak of five straight top 10s going, dating to “Waiting on a War” in 2021.

Of those 31 top 10s, 12 have reached No. 1, most recently the six-week ruler “Rescued,” the single prior to “Under You” from Foo Fighters’ latest album, But Here We Are.

Previously, “Under You” extended Foo Fighters’ record for the most top 10s on Alternative Airplay (30) and gave the band sole possession of the most Rock & Alternative Airplay top 10s (16, dating to the chart’s 2009 inception).

Concurrently, “Under You” jumps 8-3 on Alternative Airplay and 29-20 on Adult Alternative Airplay. On the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, it remains at its No. 2 high with 5.6 million audience impressions, up 16%, Aug. 25-31, according to Luminate.

On the multi-metric Hot Hard Rock Songs list, “Under You” rises 11-9, returning to the top 10 for the first time since it reached No. 8 on the June 17 ranking, when But Here We Are made its chart start. In addition to its radio airplay, the song earned 371,000 official U.S. streams Aug. 25-31.

But Here We Are, Foo Fighters’ 11th studio set, debuted at No. 1 on the Top Alternative Albums chart dated June 17 and has earned 127,000 equivalent album units to date.

Joe Jonas Performs Without Wedding Ring After Sophie Turner Divorce Filing

When the Jonas Brothers took the stage in Phoenix on Wednesday night, Joe‘s wedding ring was not in attendance.

Eagle-eyed fans at Footprint Center noticed that the singer, who recently filed for divorce from wife Sophie Turner, was missing his band on his ring finger hours after posting a joint statement about their split. Joe was seen wearing his ring at the trio’s Sunday concert in Austin, Texas, and in an Instagram post on Monday.

Jonas and Turner announced their separation in a joint statement from their respective Instagram accounts on Wednesday. “Statement from the two of us: ‘After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the pair wrote. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.’”

Since announcing their split, fans of the couple — who first started dating in 2016 and tied the knot three years later in 2019 with weddings in Las Vegas and France — were distraught on social media and began mourning the end of the relationship. No one seemed more distraught than La Vie En Rose actress Marion Cotillard. On Monday, Entertainment Tonight released a report via Instagram stating that Joe hired a divorce attorney, to which Cotillard shared her thoughts on in the comments section of the post. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” she wrote. Her response, in the time since, has gone viral.

Marion Cotillard in Shambles Over Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner Divorce: See Her Viral Comment

Ever since Joe Jonas officially filed for divorce from Sophie Turner on Tuesday (Sept. 5), the Internet discourse has been overrun with speculation, rumors and dismay from Jonas Brothers fans. As it turns out, one such distraught fan was none other than Academy Award-winning French actress Marion Cotillard, who summed up her dismay at the news in a now-viral Instagram comment.

When Entertainment Tonight posted a report that Joe Jonas had hired a divorce attorney on Monday, the La Vie En Rose star shared her succinct, if somewhat dramatic, thoughts on the situation: “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” she wrote.

Fans immediately jumped on the bandwagon, letting the actress know in the comments that they were feeling the exact same way. Others took to Twitter, baffled by the actress’ outburst. “I can’t think of anything but Marion Cotillard typing this out,” MTV host Josh Horowitz wrote.

The Miami-Dade County-filed petition for dissolution of marriage stated that “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,” while advocating for a shared custody agreement of Jonas and Turner’s two children. “It is in the best interests of the minor children that the parties have shared parental responsibility,” the petition reads.

The day after the petition was filed, Jonas and Turner shared a joint statement via Instagram, saying that the decision to split up was arrived at “mutually” and “amicably.” They also appeared to address ongoing speculation from fans and media outlets like TMZ, saying that “there are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
