Kim Kardashian Joked She Was Once Asked to Join Spice Girls, So Geri Halliwell-Horner Gave Her an Honorary Spice Name

Kim Kardashian has conquered the worlds of TV and fashion, so why not pop music? During the latest episode of The Kardashians, the de facto lead singer of the No. 1 reality TV supergroup revealed that she’d once dressed up as a member of the Spice Girls for a school talent show.

She was, “Victoria. I was Posh, duh,” Kardashian said of which Spice Girl she transformed into. Kim then dropped a bombshell and said that Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm even asked if the SKIMS founder might want to sub for former group member Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham when the group next hit the road.

“Sporty Spice wrote a book and signed it inside and she sent it to me saying that they’re going on tour and they need a Posh and would I be the Posh?” Kardashian said on the episode, noting that she was “sure” Mel “was joking. But like, when I was in high school, would I ever have thought that this was, like, a thing? I’m just, like, a girl from high school that loved the Spice Girls and now they’re asking me?”

Well, Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell-Horner was asked about Kim’s Spice dreams in an E! News interview this week and she had high praise for the reality TV star, as well as a possible Spice name. “She deserves something really good,” Halliwell-Horner said. “She deserves something like Inner Strength Spice. I think she’s Smart Spice. She’s smart. It’s brilliant that you’re beautiful from the outside, but also she’s beautiful with a book in her back pocket. I love that. We can be all things. Good for her!”

While the Spice Girls don’t have any upcoming shows, Halliwell-Horner had high praise for the possible Replacement Spice — who captioned a 2020 group photo with sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie and Kendall “Spice Girls” — calling Kardashian “amazing,” as well as “a very, very good role model. She’s smart. She’s really been inspiring the way she’s turned that business around and also for women to celebrate your curves. I really like that about her.”

John Legend Serenades Chrissy Teigen in Swoon-Worthy New Video

In the short clip, the “All of Me” singer is seen belting on the grand piano in the couple’s home, as Teigen sits on the couch.

It’s been an exciting year for the couple. In June, Legend and Teigen announced they welcomed their fourth child, a baby boy, via surrogate. With the process of IVF — which the couple also employed when becoming pregnant with Miles and his older sister Luna — Teigen became pregnant with baby girl Esti, whom the couple welcomed in January.

Teigen revealed in an Instagram post that around the time she became pregnant, the couple met their surrogate, a woman named Alexandra who has since become a close friend. “Just minutes before midnight on June 19th, I got to witness the most beautiful woman, my friend, our surrogate, give birth amidst a bit of chaos, but with strength and pure joy and love,” Teigen wrote, thanking Alexandra for the “incredible gift.”

Fred again.. Launches Historic 8-Show Residency at The Shrine in Los Angeles: Night 1 Review

On Tuesday in Los Angeles, Fred again.. played the first of his eight nights at The Shrine, a run that, when complete, will be the most consecutive shows a single artist has ever performed at the venue during its nearly 100-year history.

Roughly 40,000 tickets have been sold for this residency, and a sign posted outside the box office on Tuesday night firmly stated “tonight’s show is sold out,” a disappointment to the blindly hopeful few that rolled up to the window a few minutes before he went onstage with the hopes of getting inside.

But unless you’re willing to brave the secondary market, where tickets are currently going for $200-plus, you’re probably not getting into these shows. The rest of the L.A. residency is sold out, as were the three nights at New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium that the London-based producer played earlier this month.

It’s a lot of hype, and the 30-year-old artist at the center of it turned up onstage around 9:45 p.m. in his standard uniform of a baggy T-shirt and those kind of cargo pants that unzip at the knees and convert into shorts when need be. The T-shirt was black and a had a small Nike swoosh over the word “again.” The cargo pants were orange and remained zipped as pants throughout.

And the crowd — composed mostly of people who appeared to be in their 20s, not surprising given Fred’s core demographic and the fact that The Shrine is on the USC campus — roared with the first notes of 2021’s “Kyle (i found you).” This production is one of many bright, enthusiastic, sort of poignant songs the artist born Fred Gibson has delivered to the zeitgeist since emerging from the strange haze of the late pandemic and then, with the return of live events, quickly becoming the first real post-EDM dance music superstar.

While the stars of that aforementioned dance music era became famous on maximalist, adrenaline rush songs that typically celebrated partying and vague notions of fun and romance, most of Gibson’s work is a lot more earnest, with his music and general aesthetic demonstrating a familiar and very modern kind of intimacy forged through Facetimes and video clips and the digital bric-a-brac we share with each other on our phones to make distances feel shorter.

It’s unsurprising then that it only took Gibson about 10 minutes to announce “I want to say, before we play anything else, I just want to say thank you so much for being here. Thank you. I appreciate you so much.”

The producer and his frequent stage companion — a muscular, extremely enthusiastic co-performer who Gibson always only introduces as Tony — then rolled into “Dermot (See Yourself In My Eyes),” one of many tracks of the night that demonstrated Gibson’s efficacy on the piano, and that he really does have a lovely voice. The crowd came alive for the Swedish House Mafia collab “Turn On the Lights again” which featured the song’s vocalist, Future, projected onto the massive three-screen stage setup Fred has been using on tour for a few years, with each screen meant to emulate a phone screen.

For the Shrine shows, this stage production has been expanded to include four gargantuan LED panels hanging from the ceiling. These ceiling panels gave the space a glowing, immersive feel as they displayed images of airplanes in flight and blue sky with clouds and slow pans of the crowd staring back at itself.

Gibson demonstrated a fair amount of trust in this crowd, when, about 30 minutes into the show, he jumped offstage and — with the help of two security guards — made his way through the horde to a satellite stage in the center of the room. Here, one of the light panels lowered from the ceiling to create a sort of club effect, and Gibson used this time to play some harder hitting stuff — including, much to the crowd’s thrill, his skittering, undeniable Skrillex collab “Rumble” and a bunch of hectic drum ‘n’ bass that got much of the heaving crowd to lower their phones down and just dance along for a few minutes. This seemed a likely moment for Gibson’s other more club-oriented hits, 2022’s “Jungle” and his 2023 Skrillex and Four Tet collab “Baby Again” although neither of those tracks were heard last night.

Upon Fred’s return to the mainstage, the show returned to it’s more softer-edged programming, with Gibson — who performed a bunch of the set while sitting down — taking a few minutes to tell the story of the birth of his niece, who was born the morning after his massive Glastonbury performance this past June. Happily, he showed us a few seconds of baby niece footage, then aptly played his latest, “adore u.”

Some may find Fred’s infants and gratitude vibes as overly earnest bordering on saccharine, but there’s also something refreshing about the straightforward celebration of happiness, togetherness, adoration and love that characterizes the bulk of his output, particularly in a genre where the cooler than thou vibes can often feel not only dull but alienating.

The show ultimately lasted about an hour and a half, closing with The Blessed Madonna collab “Marea (we’ve lost dancing)” and a singalong of “Billie (loving arms)” (Shout out to the woman in front of us in the crowd holding up an actual lighter in this moment.)

Towards the end of the night, Gibson told the story of his first ever set in L.A., when he played for “like, 50 people” at The Roxy in December of 2021, having landed in town 90 minutes before this show began due to a lag in he and his team getting their visas. A few months later, his euphoric sets at Coachella 2022 made him a star, a few months after that he played three packed shows at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and this past spring he headlined Coachella alongside Skrillex and Four Tet.

Southern California has always been a very strong market for dance and is clearly an increasingly strong market for Gibson — something he’ll demonstrate again (and again, and again) tonight (Oct. 25) over the next week’s remaining shows. With the screen panels offering a friendly goodbye — “get home safe everyone, thank you” — to the crowd making its way out last night, it feels okay to assume that he really was so glad to be there, that he appreciates so much.

Cannons Frontwoman Michelle Joy Says She Was Groped by a Concertgoer Onstage: ‘It Left Me Feeling Unsafe & Violated’

Michelle Joy, frontwoman for indie rock band Cannons, shared on social media Tuesday that she was recently groped by a concertgoer while she was performing onstage.

“While performing one of our last shows of the tour, I was groped on stage by an audience member,” she wrote in a black-and-white text post, shared to the band’s social media accounts. “It was one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever experienced and a complete invasion of my space, privacy, and body. It left me feeling unsafe and violated.”

Alongside the post, she included the caption, “Just want to create a safe space for ourselves and everyone at our shows so found this important to share today.”

Her post continued: “Sexual harassment will absolutely not be tolerated at any Cannons show. Especially being a female fronted band, we care deeply about our shows being a safe environment where not only women, but everyone regardless of gender, age, race, sex, etc. can come together and share in the joy of our music, ourselves included. If you ever feel unsafe or see something that doesn’t feel right, please let someone around you know. We encourage you to speak up, be kind, and take care of one another.”

Cannons — which formed 10 years ago in LA and also includes guitarist Ryan Clapham and bassist and keyboardist Paul Davis — scored their first Alternative Airplay No. 1 in 2021 when “Fire for You” topped the Jan. 30-dated chart. Initially released in 2019, “Fire for You” found a second life thanks to its 2020 appearance in Netflix’s Never Have I Ever.

On Wednesday (Oct. 25), the band took to Instagram Stories to thank fans for their kind words after Joy’s post about the onstage violation. “Reading through your comments now and just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words, encouragement and support, you all are truly THE BEST and we are sooo [grateful] to have such a wonderful fan base, love you very much!!!” they wrote. “Excited to keep moving forward and make live music a little safer for everyone, see you all again soon!”

KROQ DJ Megan Holiday was among the fans chiming in, writing in the comments section of the original post: “Ugh wtf is wrong with people?!! I’m so sorry Michelle. Sending you all the love and hope you’re okay.”

Next up, Cannons join Lovejoy and littleimage for a pair of concerts in Mesa, Arizona, on Dec. 13 and 14.

Kelly Clarkson Delivers Stunning Rendition of Coldplay’s ‘Always in My Head’ for Kellyoke: Watch

The Kelly Clarkson Show has returned for its fifth season, and which also means the American Idol alum’s fan-favorite Kellyoke segment is back. On Wednesday (Oct. 25), Clarkson took Coldplay‘s “Always in My Head” for a spin.

Backed by her band Y’all, the three-time Grammy winner passionately sang the track, injecting peaceful, soaring high notes in her rendition. “My body moves/ Goes where I will/ But though I try my heart stays still/ It never moves/ Just won’t be led/ And so my mouth waters, to be fed/ And you’re always in my head/ You’re always in my head/ You’re always in my head,” she languidly sang.

“Always in My Head” serves as the first track on Coldplay’s 2014 album, Ghost Stories. While the track — written by the band and produced by Paul Epworth, Dan Green, Rik Simpson — failed to chart on any of the Billboard singles tallies, the album topped the Billboard 200 and stayed on the all-genre chart for 43 weeks. Ghost Stories additionally marked Coldplay’s fourth album to go No. 1, after 2011’s Mylo Xyloto, 2008’s Viva La Vida or Death And All is Friends, and 2005’s X&Y.

As for what’s in store for the rest of Clarkson’s current season, showrunner Alex Duda told  Entertainment Weekly, “Kellyoke fans can expect to see Kelly and her band perform impromptu duets with our 30 Rock neighbors and talent from Broadway, plus more ‘Songs & Stories’ episodes with artists such as Pink, Garth Brooks, and Chris Martin. We’ll also do our signature ‘Good Neighbor’ segment, highlighting everyday people doing extraordinary things in their communities.”

“This one just felt so fun and so different, and we knew if we could really find this out, it could be cool vibes for the album,” the 20-year-old star recalled of the superstar team-up. “We’d been trying to get something in this world for a long time. This was something that just felt so right. Every time we played the demo, it just made everyone want to dance.”

Over on Instagram on Wednesday (Oct. 25), LAROI revealed that The First Time will be arriving on November 10. “It’s almost been 2 and half years since I last dropped a project and im proud to say that this one is SO much better than anything I’ve ever released… ever,” he wrote alongside the album’s cover art, in which he’s seen lounging on a plastic white chair, staring blankly ahead with a mask resting on his stomach. “Thank you for sticking around this long and I’m sorry that sometimes it’s hard being a supporter of mine. I’ve had a lot of different experiences these past couple of years and life has been nothing short of insane. There’s no record or song or lyric that could ever fully describe to you what it’s been like but I hope this album gives you a slight idea! Extremely grateful that I get to share this stuff with you all. I wouldn’t be anything without y’all so thank you again. I love you all beyond words.”

He added that his next single, “What Just Happened?” will be arriving on Friday (Oct. 27). See his post here.

“I’ve just grown so much musically but also personally,” LAROI told Audacy of the time since his last release. “I’ve done a lot of growth. A lot of it’s just been about me trying to figure out life and where I am as an artist. I think this project is just me figuring that out.”

The First Time will follow LAROI’s debut mixtape, F*ck Love, which topped the Billboard 200 albums chart back in 2021. The mixtape’s Savage deluxe edition included LAROI’s breakout hit single “Without You,” whose Miley Cyrus-featuring remix hit the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, while the mixtape’s Over You deluxe edition included the Hot 100 No. 1 Bieber duet “Stay.”

H.E.R. to Open 2023 World Series With National Anthem Performance

After performing “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl in 2021, Grammy-winning R&B star H.E.R. is set to add another massive sporting event to her résumé. Via a press release on Wednesday (Oct. 25), Major League Baseball announced that the “Focus” singer will sing the national anthem ahead of Game 1 of the 2023 World Series.

H.E.R. will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” on Friday at the showdown between the American League champion Texas Rangers and the National League champion Arizona Diamondbacks. Pearle Peterson, the 2023 Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Youth Talent Performer, will perform the anthem the following day (Saturday) ahead of Game 2.

The news of H.E.R.’s World Series performance comes in the midst of yet another exciting year for the acclaimed multi-hyphenate. Earlier this month (Oct. 2), she performed alongside surprise guest Selena Gomez at Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour stop in Pasadena, California. H.E.R. served as the primary support act for the band’s sprawling, record-breaking tour. A few weeks later (Oct. 17), the “Damage” singer surprised a sold-out crowd at New York City’s Madison Square Garden when she joined Daniel Caesar onstage for a heartfelt rendition of their Grammy-winning duet “Best Part.”

Currently, H.E.R. is gearing up for the release of The Color Purple. The film adaptation of the Broadway musical will arrive in theatres on Christmas Day (Dec. 25), with direction from Blitz Bazawule and production credits from Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones. The Color Purple is also set to star Halle Bailey, Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Ciara, Aunjanue Ellis, Colman Domingo, Danielle Brooks and Phylicia Pearl Mpasi. H.E.R.’s silver-screen debut comes two years after she won her first Academy Award for best original song (“Fight for You,” Judas and the Black Messiah, 2021).

H.E.R. has earned nine entries on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking as high as No. 24 with her featured turn on Jhené Aiko’s “B.S.” On the Billboard 200, the “Slide” singer has charted seven titles, including the No. 6-peaking Back of My Mind — her highest-charting entry on the ranking to date.

Beyoncé Unboxes ‘CÉ NOIR’ Fragrance in New Video: ‘It’s Finally Here After Years of Hard Work’

The arrival of Beyoncé‘s CÉ NOIR fragrance is imminent, and it will be available for fans everywhere to smell soon — but in the meantime, the “Alien Superstar” singer took to Instagram on Wednesday (Oct. 25) to share a video of her unboxing the fragrance for the first time.

“This is my CÉ NOIR unboxing and it’s finally here after years of work, where I wanted something to be monolithic, and I wanted to have a little bit of intimacy, so right here, you can see inside the soul of the perfume,” she told the camera in a black-and-white video showing off the perfume’s angular design. “I actually spray this during the show a few times, gotta keep it fresh. And that is CE NOIR, say no more!”

Bey formally announced the perfume on Tuesday, revealing that it retails for $160 and is currently available for pre-order in the United States and Canada on her website. Bottles of CÉ NOIR will begin to ship next month, just in time for the holidays.

The 32-time Grammy winner’s latest fragrance features top notes of clementine and golden honey, heart notes of rose absolute and jasmine sambac, and base notes of Namibian myrrh and golden amber. While most fans looking to purchase CÉ NOIR will be blindly buying, fans who attended Bey’s Renaissance World Tour in Inglewood, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tampa, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, D.C. and other cities on the North American part of the trek received sample strips of the perfume.

As Swift continues to take the NFL world by storm, Kay Adams discussed her strong presence at sports games with former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on Wednesday (Oct. 25) on her daily morning show, FanDuel TV’s Up & Adams.

While Adams said that she loves seeing Swift throughout the NFL game broadcasts, Gronkowski disagreed. “Bye bye bye, it’s just a little bit too much,” he replied. “We want more football.”

Despite Gronkowski’s thoughts, Swift has seemingly become a good luck charm for Kelce, as recent statistics aired by CBS Sports Sunday (Oct. 22) at the Chiefs vs. Chargers game show that the Kansas City tight end plays significantly better when his new love interest is in attendance.

According to the network, Kelce averages 99 receiving yards at games attended by the 12-time Grammy winner, who has so far been spotted at four Chiefs matches. When she’s not there, the athlete’s average dips to just 46.5 yards.

Swift also recently got praise from the Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, who raved that she’s a “very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman.” “She gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around,” the patriarch added of the singer. “I don’t think she got the diva memo.”

Offset’s ‘Set It Off’ Debuts in Top 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart

Offset returns to the top tier of Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart as his new album, Set It Off, debuts at No. 2 on the list dated Oct. 28. The album, released Oct. 13 via Motown/Capitol Records, starts with 70,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the tracking week ending Oct. 19, according to Luminate.

Of Set It Off’s first-week sum, streaming activity provides 44,000 units, a figure equal to 59.1 million official U.S. audio and video streams of the album’s songs. Traditional album sales contribute 25,000 units, with the remaining balance owed to 1,000 track-equivalent album units. (One unit equals the following levels of consumption: one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams for a song on the album.)

With Set It Off’s No. 2 entrance, Offset matches his career-best rank on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums as a solo act. His first solo venture, the collaborative Without Warning album with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, also began in the runner-up rank in 2017, as did his own Father of 4 album in 2019. As a member of the Migos, Offset charted an additional seven albums with the group, including two No. 1s: Culture (2017) and Culture II (2018).

Elsewhere, Set It Off begins at No. 2 on the Top Rap Albums chart and at No. 5 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

As Set It Off arrives, three of its tracks launch on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, led by “Say My Grace,” featuring Travis Scott, at No. 13. With that debut, Offset nabs his highest start on the list as a lead artist among 34 total solo appearances; only Kodak Black’s “ZEZE,” which featured Offset and Scott and debuted at No. 1, posted a better beginning. Beyond “Say My Grace,” Set It Off cuts “Worth It,” with Don Toliver (No. 32) and “Broad Day,” with Future (No. 49) also land on the list.

Thanks to the new album and some standout cuts, Offset re-enters at No. 9 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart, which measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption- album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming – to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity. The rally gives the rapper his first week in the top 10 and his first appearance on the list at any rank since September 2019.
