50 Cent Defends Taking a Photo With Rep. Lauren Boebert During His Capitol Hill Visit

50 Cent is one to look right in the eye of the storm when it comes to controversy. Even at 48 years old, it’s nearly impossible to predict how he’s going to react in certain social situations. With that said, the G-Unit boss made an appearance at Capitol Hill on Wednesday (June 5), where 50 spent the day rubbing elbows with various politicians from both parties — including Lauren Boebert and Nancy Pelosi — while advocating for more Black representation in the luxury spirits business.

“My experience here has been great,” 50 told The Hill. “I went to talk to them about economic opportunities for everybody, and it’s really exciting. The response I got makes me feel like that there’s bright days ahead of us.”

50 is the owner of his Sire Spirits brand, where his lucrative Branson Cognac lives within his spirits empire. He appeared alongside attorney Ben Crump in hopes of seeing more Black entrepreneurs follow in his footsteps in the alcohol industry.

The “Many Men” rapper was a popular guy on campus, as many politicians wanted a piece of the rap mogul. He posted and reposted photos with former Speaker of the House Pelosi, which sparked outrage from some of his fans on social media.

“The pic with Nancy P was the most terrifying,” one person replied.

Other photos throughout the day posted to his X timeline include appearances from House Speaker Mike Johnson, Congressman Troy Carter, Congressman Steve Scalise, Rep. Joyce Beatty, Congressmen Wesley Hunt and Nick LaLota and more.

However, there was one photo that caused more of a stir on social media than the others. That one found 50 posing alongside controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert. “Lauren Boebert, Colorado Republican making the white house look good,” he captioned the photo on X.

Boebert returned the favor giving him a shout-out on social media while quoting lyrics from his debut album classic “21 Questions,” which not many had on their 2024 bingo card. “I’d still love you if you flipped burgers at Burger King @50Cent, I used to do that myself! Thanks for the photo, great to meet you,” she tweeted.

While fans were in an uproar seeing Boebert with 50, he attempted to calm the backlash and joked about her infamously being kicked out of a Beetlejuice musical in Denver last September for “causing a disturbance” amid speculation of her vaping and getting intimate.

“You don’t do your research,” one fan asked, as another questioned his decision-making skills. “He better be careful with this one.”

“Wait, wait, guys i took pictures with everyone and all you seem to care about is Lauren what did she do in a dark theater that hasn’t been done, my God,” 50 responded. “Hey I don’t have chlamydia by the way. LOL.”

The grind doesn’t stop for 50 Cent, as he’ll be in NYC on Thursday (June 6) for the premiere of Power Book II: Ghost, with part one of the final season set to hit Starz on Friday (June 7).

BLACKPINK’s LISA Teases New Solo Music Is ‘Coming Soon’

Nearly three years after making her solo debut with a pair of singles, it looks like LISA of BLACKPINK is finally returning with new music.

On Thursday (June 6), the K-pop star posted a minimalistic teaser on Instagram Stories. “Coming soon: LISA,” it simply read.

The graphic also featured links to pre-save an unnamed project on Spotify and Apple Music. Her official website also boasts the teaser, as does her LLOUD management page.

The Thai rapper also signaled the beginning of her new era by posting a video on TikTok. In the clip — which she paired with a gritty synth beat titled “Coming Soon” on the platform — she poses inconspicuously in a cute outfit.

LISA first dropped her own music in September 2021, releasing the singles “Lalisa” and “Money” via YG Entertainment and Interscope Records. The latter track became the first solo K-pop hit to surpass a billion streams on Spotify in 2023, and its music video recently became the singer’s first to reach a billion views on YouTube.

Also in 2021, LISA joined DJ Snake Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion on a single titled “SG.” Last year, she hopped on a track with BIGBANG’s Taeyang titled “Shoong!”

LISA and her BLACKPINK bandmates JENNIE, JISOO and ROSÉ are currently on a break from full-band activities following the release of their Billboard 200-topping album Born Pink in 2022. In April, the former signed with RCA Records in anticipation of her upcoming solo efforts, inking a deal that will allow her to retain ownership of her master recordings.

“I’m super excited to be joining the RCA family, and I am confident they are the best team to create a bigger movement in my solo career,” LISA said in a statement at the time. “Looking forward to showing the world everything we have been preparing.”

Dolly Parton Reveals She Has Broadway Musical ‘Hello, I’m Dolly’ & Nashville Hotel in the Works

This year’s CMA Fest in Nashville launched with music icon Dolly Parton spilling the details on several projects she has in the works — namely, a Broadway musical as well as a hotel.

“It’s true, I’m going to have a hotel right here in Nashville, and a museum too,” Parton told the crowd.

The country icon officially revealed her upcoming Songteller Hotel in Nashville, which will be located on 3rd and Commerce in downtown Nashville. The hotel will also include a Dolly Parton museum that will feature memorabilia from her career and many of her fashionable outfits, including a replica of Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors,” which inspired her signature song of the same name.

The name of the hotel takes its name from Parton’s 2020 book Songteller: My Life in Song, written with author-journalist Robert K. Oermann.

“When we were looking at the property, you know how sometimes you feel you get a little divine sign,” Parton said during the event, which was hosted by Entertainment Tonight‘s Rachel Smith. “We were walking through and it was an empty room. There was a table and of all things, there was the book Songteller and we thought that must be a sign and we thought that would be a good name.”

Parton, of course, is no stranger to launching hotels — the singer, songwriter and business mogul’s Dollywood theme park includes the Dreammore Resort, which opened in 2015, and the Heartsong Lodge and Resort, which opened in 2023.

Parton also announced her upcoming Broadway musical, Hello, I’m Dolly: An Original Musical, set to open in 2026. Parton says she affectionately calls it “a Grand Ole Opera.”

“I tried for years, how to do my life story and make it make sense. I needed to write some original music. I’m hoping you’re gonna laugh and cry,” Parton said.

The musical will trace Parton’s life story from growing up in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee before making her way to Nashville to pursue music. The musical will chronicle her early solo hits, her work with Porter Wagoner and her rise as to becoming an internationally, Country Music Hall of Famer, with 25 No. 1 Billboard Hot Country Songs hits. as well as a multi-faceted artist through her work in movies and television.

The musical will be produced by Parton, Adam Speers (ATG Productions) and Danny Nozell (CTK Enterprises), and takes its name from Parton’s first studio album, which released in 1967. Hello, I’m Dolly will feature a score by Parton that will include some of her biggest hits as well as new songs she has written especially for the musical, and a book by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter.

In addition, Parton revealed the launch of Dolly Wines (which starts with a Dolly 2023 California chardonnay) and the cookbook Good Lookin’ Cookin’, which she created with her sister Rachel. Good Lookin’ Cookin’ releases Sept. 17.

These business ventures expand on Parton’s recent teaming with Duncan Hines to launch a line of cake and muffin mixes, as well as Parton’s recent partnership with Krispy Kreme for the limited-time Dolly Parton Southern Sweets Doughnut Collection.

Parton also recently revealed her upcoming family-oriented album Smoky Mountain DNA–Family, Faith and Fables, out in November.

In the meantime, Parton told Smith that she has no plans to slow down anytime soon.

“Not today,” Parton quipped. “Maybe someday I may have to. I’ve always said if my husband was in ill health and needed me, I would pull back — and the same with my own health. But I kind of dreamed myself into a corner and I need to be responsible for that. I may pull back a little now and then, but not today.”

Watch Billie Eilish Wrestle With Nat Wolff in Feverish ‘Chihiro’ Music Video

In Billie Eilish‘s new music video for “Chihiro,” the 22-year-old pop star can’t decide if she loves or hates her costar, who’s played by Nat Wolff.

In the new visual released Thursday (June 6), Eilish feverishly runs through an abandoned building. When she sees a strange man — aka the Paper Towns actor — emerge from one of the rooms, she chases after him, only for him to vanish once she catches up to him.

Looking dizzy, the singer then finds her target standing farther down the hallway. This time, she’s able to get to him, and they become aggressive with each other.

“Open up the door, can you open up the door?/ I know you said before you can’t cope with any more,” she pleads on the Finneas-produced track. “You told me it was war, said you’d show me what’s in store/ I hope it’s not for sure, can you open up the door?”

After a minute of fighting, Eilish and Wolff make amends and run for the exit together. Outside in the sunshine, though, the pattern repeats — but this time, the Death Note actor chases and catches her. They wrestle violently in the grass for a while — occasionally interrupted by murky underwater shots — until suddenly, the two start being affectionate with each other again.

The five-minute video was self-directed by the nine-time Grammy winner, who “envisioned a dreamlike narrative in which the long, dark hallways and shutting of doors symbolize the different corners of the mind,” according to a release. “She tumbles into an inescapable connection,” it continues. “The external expression of an internal push and pull, as our deepest feelings of fear, love, or desire inevitably catch up to us, no matter how hard we try to run away.”

Within minutes of the project arriving on YouTube, Eilish posted a clip on Instagram and wrote, “one of my favorite videos i’ve made & truly one of the greatest days of my life.”

“Chihiro” debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 following the release of Eilish’s new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. All 10 of the LP’s tracks made it onto the chart in their first week of eligibility, led by “Lunch,” which reached No. 5.

Zach Bryan’s ‘Pink Skies’ Premieres Atop Hot Rock & Alternative Songs Chart

Zach Bryan’s “Pink Skies” debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs charts dated June 8, becoming his third leader on each list.

The harmonica-infused single bows with 31.6 million official streams, 166,000 radio airplay audience impressions and 10,000 downloads sold in the United States from its May 24 release through May 30, according to Luminate.

The song is expected to introduce Bryan’s upcoming project, believed to be titled The Great American Bar Scene.

“Pink Skies” follows Bryan’s “I Remember Everything” (featuring Kacey Musgraves), which topped Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs for 30 weeks each beginning last September, and “Something in the Orange,” which began a 20-week command on each chart in February 2023. “I Remember Everything” remains on the latest tallies, at Nos. 6 and 3, respectively, on the strength of 17.9 million streams, 1.6 million radio impressions and 1,000 sold.

The new single concurrently starts at No. 1 on the Rock Streaming Songs and Rock Digital Song Sales rankings.

“Pink Skies” also opens at No. 3 on Hot Country Songs, where it’s Bryan’s 10th top 10, and No. 6 on the all-format Billboard Hot 100, where it’s his third. “I Remember Everything” led the Hot 100 in its debut week and “Something in the Orange” reached No. 10.

The singer-songwriter has notched three top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, all in the past two years: American Heartbreak (No. 5, June 2022), his eponymous LP (No. 1 for two weeks, September 2023) and EP Boys of Faith (No. 8, October 2023).

“Cobijas Ajenas” rolls to No. 1 on the overall Latin radio tally thanks to a 49% gain in audience impressions, to 8.73 million, earned in the U.S. during the May 24-30 tracking week, according to Luminate. The hit is from Fernández’ full-length album Te Llevo En La Sangre, released May 24 via Universal Music Latino/UMLE.

Trending on Billboard

The song ejects Blessd and Feid’s “Si Sabe Ferxxo” from the lead, after the latter’s one week in charge, with a hefty 19% dip in impressions, to 6.9 million.

“Cobijas” is a cause of celebration for singer-songwriter Olivas, as the radio ramp-up brings him to his first champ on Latin Airplay. Before the new leader, “Yo Todo Soy” gave him his best showing, with a No. 5 high in 2021. The Mexican artist later picked up the No. 7-peaking “No” in April 2022.

Fernández, meanwhile, returns to No. 1 following the one-week ruling of “No Es Que Me Quiera Ir” in August 2023. In total, he adds 11 rulers to his Latin Airplay career account, only two through collabs. As Fernández’s collection of rulers grows, here’s the updated list of his Latin Airplay chart-toppers:

Peak Date, Title, Artist, Weeks at No. 1

  • Oct. 18, 1997, “Si Tú Supieras,” six
  • Dec. 27, 1997, “En El Jardín,” featuring Gloria Estefan, six
  • March 14, 1998, “No Se Olvidar,” eight
  • July 18, 1998, “Yo Nací Para Amarte,” five
  • Aug. 21, 1999, “Loco,” one
  • Dec. 1, 2001, “Tantita Pena,” six
  • Oct. 23, 2004, “Me Dediqué a Perderte,” two
  • Feb. 6, 2010, “Se Me Va La Voz,” one
  • Jan. 4, 2020, “Caballero,” two
  • Aug. 5, 2023, “No Es Que Me Quiera Ir,” one
  • June 8, “Cobijas Ajenas,” with Alfredo Olivas

In addition to their Latin Airplay coronation, Fernández and Olivas, each add a new No. 1 to their Regional Mexican Airplay ledger as “Cobijas” lifts 2-1: nine for the former, and a fourth champ for the latter.

Lastly, thanks to its radio haul, “Cobijas Ajenas” concurrently debuts on the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart, which combines airplay, streaming data and digital downloads, at No. 49.

Sublime Returns to Alternative Airplay Chart After 26 Years With ‘Feel Like That’

Sublime is back on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart with “Feel Like That,” a collaboration with Stick Figure. The song debuts at No. 35 on the June 8-dated ranking.

“Feel Like That,” which also features credited vocals from late Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, is the first Alternative Airplay hit credited to Sublime – and not its separate, subsequent iteration Sublime With Rome – since “Doin’ Time,” which hit No. 28 in November 1997.

In between “Doin’ Time” and “Feel Like That,” Sublime With Rome – featuring new vocalist Rome Ramirez – reached the ranking four times in 2011-19, led by the No. 4-peaking “Panic” in 2011.

Sublime With Rome, in addition to Ramirez, initially included previous Sublime members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh; Gaugh departed in 2011 and Wilson followed earlier this year. Gaugh and Wilson then reformed Sublime with Nowell’s son Jakob on vocals and guitar. “Feel Like That” features both Jakob and Bradley on vocals, the latter via a recording from early 1996. Bradley Nowell died of an overdose that May.

Sublime reunited late last year and has since performed at Coachella.

The original incarnation of Sublime didn’t reach Alternative Airplay until after Nowell’s death. “What I Got” reigned for three weeks beginning in October 1996, while “Santeria” and “Wrong Way” each hit No. 3 in 1997, ahead of the aforementioned “Doin’ Time.”

As for Stick Figure, “Feel Like That” is the band’s first Alternative Airplay chart entry, as well as the six-piece’s premiere rank on any Billboard airplay survey. The band first graced a Billboard chart in 2009 when Smoke Stack peaked at No. 8 on Reggae Albums, on which Stick Figure now boasts four No. 1s.

Currently a standalone single, “Feel Like That” also bows at No. 43 on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with 801,000 audience impressions in the week ending May 30, according to Luminate. Its first-week download count of 2,000 sparks a No. 8 debut on Rock Digital Song Sales.

Tommy Richman’s ‘Million Dollar Baby’ Spends Fourth Week at No. 1 on TikTok Billboard Top 50

The TikTok Billboard Top 50 is a weekly ranking of the most popular songs on TikTok in the United States based on creations, video views and user engagement. The latest chart reflects activity May 27-June 2. Activity on TikTok is not included in Billboard charts except for the TikTok Billboard Top 50.

“Million Dollar Baby” joins Alek Olsen’s “Someday I’ll Get It” and Flo Milli’s “Never Lose Me” as songs with four weeks at No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50. Mitski’s “My Love Mine All Mine,” meanwhile, leads all songs with six frames atop the list.

Trending on Billboard

Concurrently, “Million Dollar Baby” remains at No. 3 on the multimetric Billboard Hot 100 thanks to 49 million official U.S. streams, 23.9 million radio audience impressions and 8,000 downloads in the week ending May 30.

Lay Bankz’s “Tell Ur Girlfriend,” a three-week No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 prior to Richman’s reign, ranks at No. 2, followed by a debut in Sexyy Red and Drake’s “U My Everything” at No. 3.

The premiere gives Sexyy Red her first top three on the chart since “SkeeYee” paced the inaugural survey (Sept. 16, 2023), and it’s Drake’s second-highest charter, following the No. 2 peak of “IDGAF,” featuring Yeat, last October.

“U My Everything,” which was released May 24, mostly benefits from lip-synch and dance content to Sexyy Red’s intro on the song (“I say hoo, baby/ Bae, I love you, you my everything/ I wrote this for you, baby”), with another trend featuring creators asking their former significant others how many likes they’d need on TikTok to get back together.

“U My Everything” debuts at No. 44 on the Hot 100 on the strength of 10.3 million streams, 952,000 radio audience impressions and 2,000 downloads May 24-30.

It’s one of two debuts in the TikTok Billboard Top 50’s top 10, followed by Central Cee and Lil Baby’s “BAND4BAND,” which starts at No. 8. Released May 23, “BAND4BAND” sports an early trend of creators pointing to the differing accents of the British Central Cee and American Lil Baby, often dressing up in different costumes as they lip synch the pair’s “We can go band for band/ F–k that, we can go M for M” exchange on the song.

“BAND4BAND” became Central Cee’s top performance on the Hot 100 yet, debuting at No. 22 on the June 8-dated survey thanks to 15.9 million streams and 1,000 downloads.

One other song hits the TikTok Billboard Top 50’s top 10 for the first time: Stephen Kramer Glickman’s cover of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” which vaults 41-6. The trend featuring Glickman’s rendition highlights the song’s opening lyrics (“I remember when/ I remember, I remember when I lost my mind”) and shows users stitching in things they did that they now find cringy.

See Pharrell, Jay-Z & Kendrick Lamar as Lego Pieces in New Trailer for Producer’s Animated Biopic

Pharrell Williams‘ autobiographical film Piece by Piece looks a little different from any of the many musician biopics that have come before it. Mainly, it takes place entirely in the Lego universe, a slice of which was finally revealed in a star-studded trailer for the project that dropped Thursday (June 6).

The teaser opens with Pharrell’s Lego avatar telling the film’s director, Morgan Neville, “You know what would be cool is if we told my story with Lego pieces.”

It then launches into animated, Legoland renderings of the 13-time Grammy winner’s childhood, followed by shots of his musical projects over the years, including the creation of his and Snoop Dogg’s Billboard Hot 100-topping “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” Many of Williams’ past collaborators lent their voices and toy likenesses to the project, including Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes and Jay-Z, whose recognizable laugh can be heard at the end of the trailer.

Trending on Billboard

“I loved music — it was mesmerizing to me,” Williams says in a voice-over in the trailer. “I would see beautiful hues of light cascading. I just thought that’s what all Black kids did — they stared into the speaker like, ‘Whoa.’”

Featuring two new songs by Pharrell, Piece by Piece will arrive in theaters Oct. 11. The “Happy” singer first announced the project on Instagram in January, writing at the time, “Who would’ve thought that playing with Legos as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life?”

In an interview with Variety about the trailer, Williams said that he wanted the film to “be a medium for anyone that just wanted to hear a good, aspirational, inspiring story told vividly, in a way that felt like it could apply to them personally.”

“The joy is seeing it come together piece by piece — pun intended,” he added. “My story never really made a lot of sense to most people. Because most people just choose a lane or two, and I like to cross into different lanes and go into different worlds and take what I feel like is interesting from this place and those experiences and apply them elsewhere.”

Jon Bon Jovi Talks Bouncing Back From Vocal Cord Surgery, ‘Forever’ Album and Why Band’s Songs Will ‘Outlive Us’

Jon Bon Jovi wasn’t sure if his band would ever record another album. The Jersey rock icon whose signature raspy vocals lifted his eponymous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band to global superstardom in the 1980s and 1990s thanks to such iconic hits as “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “It’s My Life” chronicled his long, hard road back from vocal cord surgery in 2022 in the recent Hulu series Thank You, Goodnight – The Bon Jovi Story. And in a new interview with EW he talked how that scary career roadblock helped inspire the band’s new album, Forever, which is out on Friday (June 7).

“I went into this surgery and I had a lot of time on my hands — all I could really do was sit around and start to think about songs,” Bon Jovi told EW. “I started to feel joy again. And we — the collective we, who lived through COVID — we’d all come out of that fog, and we were interacting again. There was a new appreciation for life. And I was having this new appreciation for my body. And it led to all these songs.”

Trending on Billboard

The result was a 12-track album recorded by Bon Jovi and bandmates keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, bassist Hugh McDonald, guitarist Phil X, percussionist Everett Bradley and rhythm guitarist John Shanks that the singer said the crew recorded in a brisk seven weeks. “Nothing was on delay. It just flowed,” Bon Jovi said of the album that features the soaring “Legendary” and talkbox-assisted “Living Proof,” which he wrote in just two days.

Bon Jovi also dropped in for a chat with Stephen Colbert on the Late Show on Wednesday night (June 6), where he smiled and kept his secrets when the host asked what it was like to be “young and beautiful” on the road in the 1980s. “If I were to write a book it would be called, The Best Time I Never Had,” the 62-year-old silver fox said with a grin, joking that he tells his children that he didn’t party and went straight home after shows.

Bon Jovi credited his bandmates with believing in his dream 40 years ago, saying that the new album got its name after he realized that, “these songs are going to outlive us until long after we’re gone.” He noted that he’s “well on the road to recovery” from the vocal surgery chronicled in the four-part documentary series, joking that now was the time to commemorate the band’s 40th anniversary because he has no idea if he’ll be around for their 50th.

The singer who has dabbled in acting over the years described how he got his big screen chops up as a young rocker after a promoter flew them on a private jet to a gig, after which Bon Jovi says he repeatedly convinced other promoters to celebrate the band’s burgeoning success with their breakthrough Slippery When Wet album by flying them to the next gig… on a private jet.

Colbert also congratulated Bon Jovi on the recent weddings of two of his sons; Jack Bongiovi married Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in May, just weeks after son Jesse married longtime love Jesse Light in Las Vegas. Asked if he’s ever been pressed into service at a wedding to sing one of his songs, Bon Jovi told a funny story about a friend’s son’s wedding where he was “willing,” but not really looking forward to jumping on stage.

When the trumpet player spontaneously began playing the iconic bass line from “Livin’ on a Prayer,” for what he described as a “Salvation Army” band version of the song, the reluctant vocalist said he “sang the s–t” out of it, as one does.

During the double-segment sit-down, Bon Jovi bragged about the rest stop named after him in New Jersey and his early days working around the corner at the Power Station recording studio. One of his favorite memories from the time when he was a teenager “gofer,” he said, was when he watched David Bowie and Freddie Mercury sing “Under Pressure” through the studio window. “I saw them sing that vocal,” he told an astonished Colbert.
