Fleetwood Mac’s Mick Fleetwood Hopes for ‘Healing’ Between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham

The tumultuous relationship between Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham has fueled rock ‘n’ roll legend for nearly half a century.

From their early days as a romantic couple to their bitter breakup and subsequent years of creative tension, the duo’s infamous “beef” has fascinated fans and inspired some of the band’s most iconic music.

Now, drummer Mick Fleetwood has expressed his hope for a long-awaited reconciliation between the estranged bandmates in a recent interview with MOJO published Jul. 9.

“It’s no secret, it’s no tittle-tattle that there is a brick wall there emotionally,” Fleetwood shared. “Stevie’s able to speak clearly about how she feels and doesn’t feel, as does Lindsey. But I’ll say, personally, I would love to see a healing between them – and that doesn’t have to take the shape of a tour, necessarily.”

Nicks and Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac on New Year’s Eve 1974, after performing as a duo under the name Buckingham Nicks.

Their romantic relationship ended in 1976, just before the band recorded their iconic album Rumours, yet they continued to perform together professionally for many years. They were pivotal in creating the band’s signature sound and were mainstays until 1987, when Buckingham left the group, followed by Nicks in 1990.

Both returned in 1997, only for Buckingham to be fired in 2018.

Following Buckingham’s departure in 2018, he claimed it was “all Stevie’s doing,” alleging that she gave the band an ultimatum that led to his firing.

Nicks refuted his claims: “I did not demand he be fired. Frankly, I fired myself. I proactively removed myself from the band and a situation I considered to be toxic to my well-being. I was done. If the band went on without me, so be it.”

Meanwhile, Fleetwood Mac’s future has been uncertain following the death of longtime member Christine McVie in November 2022.

Both Fleetwood and Nicks have indicated that the band is unlikely to reunite without her. Nicks told MOJO last month, “Without Christine, no can do. There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn’t work.”

“Even if I thought I could work with Lindsey again, he’s had some health problems,” says Nick, referring to Buckingham’s heart surgery in 2019.

“It’s not for me to say, but I’m not sure if Lindsey could do the kind of touring that Fleetwood Mac does, where you go out for a year and half. It’s so demanding.”

Fleetwood echoed that McVie’s death signalled the end of a Fleetwood Mac revival, saying in February last year that he had drawn “a line in the sand” regarding playing with the band again but would be happy if the members continued making music in other projects.

Reflecting on the past year, he said, “It’s been a strange time for me. Losing sweet Christine was catastrophic. And then, in my world, sort of losing the band too. And I [split] with my partner as well. I just found myself sort of licking my wounds.”

Despite the uncertainties, Buckingham expressed in February that he’d rejoin the band “in a heartbeat” if given the opportunity.

Meanwhile, Nicks has been busy with her solo career and is set to headline BST Hyde Park in London on July 12, supported by artists like Baby Queen and Nina Nesbitt. This comes after the music legend was forced to postpone a slew of recent shows “due to illness“.

Joe Jonas Asked For Jonas Brothers’ ‘Blessings’ To Make Upcoming Solo Album

The big reveal came during his appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss, where he shared details about his upcoming solo album.

During the chat, Joe revealed that “Work It Out” was initially meant for a Jonas Brothers album, but he had felt a stronger personal connection to the track.

Trending on Billboard

“I was listening to it, and I was like, ‘Damn, I really like this song,’ and starting to feel like I don’t know why, but I want this song for myself — not just the Brothers — and I also feel like it’s not DNCE, which is another band I’m in,” Joe explained.

Determined to follow his instincts, Joe sought his brothers’ approval.

“I asked my brothers’ blessings, and I was like, hey, I wanna go work on — I don’t wanna call it solo, but I want to go do something on my own, and I don’t feel like it’s DNCE, and I need to go just express some stuff for myself. And they’re like, ‘Go for it.’ Nick booked a movie. Kevin was going to do another season of Claim To Fame, and so I had a window of time, and I locked myself away.”

The result of that locked-away period is a deeply personal album crafted in just two to three weeks. Joe collaborated with an impressive lineup of artists, including Alexander 23, Muna’s Josette Maskin, Jason Evigan, Tommy English, and Paris Carney. Reflecting on the experience, Joe described it as “the most personal music I’ve ever put out.”

Excited to share his new music, Joe took to Instagram, posting a video of a serene mountain and lake landscape.

“I’m both excited and emotional as I’m gearing up to release new music,” he wrote.

“I’m humbled and grateful to collaborate with some of my favorite musicians and creators. I hope you find as much happiness and peace as I do when you listen to these songs.”

Hints of Joe’s return to his solo musical endeavors first appeared in March when he posted a clip with the caption, “The way I would’ve bodied this trend if I weren’t in the studio working on something new.”

A day later, he teased a 13-second video of his collaborators playing guitar in the recording studio.

Joe’s solo journey is a major departure from his work with the Jonas Brothers and DNCE.

The journey begins with “Work It Out,” co-written with Blush and Evigan. Joe gave fans a taste of the song’s inspiring chorus on Therapuss, singing, “Get up, get up, get up, get up / What are you whining about? / No, nobody’s gonna save you now / No, nobody’s gonna pull you out / Brush your shoulders off.”

It’s been 13 years since he released his solo album, Fast Life, which featured the Chris Brown-penned “See No More”, which peaked at No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the LP peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200.

Though he hasn’t announced an exact release date for the album, Joe mentioned it would be out “later this year,” with more tracks set to drop before the full release.

Kendrick Helps Burger Joint Featured in ‘Not Like Us’ Video Boost Sales

The Kendrick stimmy pack is the gift that keeps on giving.

Tam’s Burgers No. 21 — located on Rosecrans Ave. in his hometown of Compton — has seen a major uptick in business after being prominently featured in his video for “Not Like Us,” according to TMZ. We called and confirmed that they’ve seen around a 40 percent increase in sales with most customers ordering Kendrick’s go-to bacon cheeseburger. They also told us they’re thinking about naming a menu item after the Compton rapper.

In the video, Dot and Mustard pull up to the local burger joint in a black 2021 Ferrari SF90 Stradale for a quick break during the song’s second verse. Lamar has been going to Tam’s for years, telling Complex during a 2012 interview that sometimes he prefers their burgers over In-N-Out. “Everybody loves In-N-Out, but it’s a very clean-cut burger. Tam’s is street-sloppy, burgers and shakes. It’s a chain, but it’s still hood,” he said.

This isn’t the first time, Kendrick helped a local spot get some more customers. He mentioned Toronto Chinese restaurant New Ho King in his other Drake diss song “Euphoria,” rapping, “I be at New Ho King eatin’ fried rice with a dip sauce and a blammy, crodie” which also brought in more traffic. They even went so far as to add the “Kendrick Lamar Special” to their menu consisting of four dishes that include fried rice with dip sauce, fried shrimp, spicy chicken wings, and beef and broccoli.

We can’t give Kendrick all the credit here, though. New Ho King was featured prominently in the video of Drake’s response “Family Matters.” The restaurant’s owner can be seen wearing Pharrell’s jewelry that the Toronto rapper notoriously bought in auction.

Tam’s was also featured on the set of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s Super Bowl 56 Halftime Show.

Roger Federer Meets Taylor Swift Backstage at the Eras Tour in Zürich: ‘In My Swiftie Era’

Taylor Swift may be partial to football at the moment, but she’s still making time to meet with the greats of other sports too. Following her first of two Eras Tour shows in Zürich Tuesday (July 9), the pop star spoke with Roger Federer backstage, after which the tennis champion posted a selfie of their encounter and declared his love for the musician.

In the snap — which appears to have been taken by Swift herself — Federer wears a VIP badge around his neck while beaming at the camera. The “Anti-Hero” singer also smiles into the lens, still sporting the final Midnights leotard she wears at the very end of her show.

“In my Swiftie era ??????????️?,” the former Olympian captioned the post.

Trending on Billboard

Based on his use of emojis, Federer isn’t kidding around when he labels himself a “Swiftie.” Each one appears to specifically represent one of the 14-time Grammy winner’s 11 albums — a blue butterfly for her self-titled debut, a hand-heart for Fearless, a purple heart for Speak Now, a scarf for Red, a cityscape for 1989, a snake for Reputation, a pierced heart for Lover, a mirrorball for Folklore, a tree for Evermore, a clock for Midnights and white heart for The Tortured Poets Department.

Hours after Federer posted their selfie, Swift finished up her two-night stay at Switzerland’s Letzigrund Stadium with a final performance Wednesday (July 10). She’s headed next for Milan, where she’ll play two shows at San Siro.

And though everything turned out for the best in the end, Travis Kelce might find his superstar girlfriend’s meeting with Federer a little ironic. Back before the Kansas City Chiefs tight end started dating Swift, he too was a pro athlete hoping to be introduced to her backstage at an Eras Tour show — but in his case, the “Karma” artist declined.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce complained on an episode of his New Heights podcast last year, a couple months before he and Swift ended up dating. “I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her … She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”

As Rolling Stone previously reported, Perry reunited with some producers of her previous works, including Stargate, Max Martin and, most controversially, Dr. Luke. In 2023, Kesha and Dr. Luke settled their bitter, nine-year legal battle before it was scheduled to go to trial. The producer claimed Kesha defamed him in 2014 when she made the “false and shocking” allegation that he drugged and raped her after a 2005 party.

At one point in the legal battle, Perry was brought into the conversation. In a deposition dated July 21, 2017, and released in August 2018, Perry denied allegations that Luke raped her. She also said she was never given a roofie by Luke, never in a sexual or romantic relationship with Luke and never told anyone — even jokingly — that Luke raped her.

Trending on Billboard

The claims were part of Luke’s defamation lawsuit against Kesha, with Luke’s team claiming then that Kesha told Lady Gaga in a text message conversation that Luke had raped Perry as well. Kesha, in turn, responded saying that her and Gaga had been both told that information first by a major label CEO.

With Dr. Luke’s controversial past and in light of his legal battle with Kesha, a number of fans took to social media to express disappointment in Perry’s choice to reunite with the producer. “I’m sorry but I can’t listen to any new Katy Perry song that is written and/or produced by Dr Luke,” one fan tweeted, for example. “I don’t like Dr Luke for many reasons and I just can’t personally support his career. I’m sorry Katy but I am very disappointed.”

Michael Ray & Audrina Partridge Confirm Romance With Sweet Couple Photo

Michael Ray and Audrina Partridge are officially dating, as confirmed by the couple in their first Instagram post together.

The 39-year-old model made her relationship with the 36-year-old country singer public Tuesday (July 9) by sharing an adorable photo at Tooth & Nail House of Wine in Paso Robles, Calif., onto her feed. In the snap, which Ray also shared on his Story, she smiles while holding his face close to hers as he beams back at her.

“There’s a lot of things in life worth letting go,” she captioned the post, quoting the Florida native’s new song “Hold.” “But the ones that mean the most, you gotta hold.”

In the comments, Ray wrote, “Let’s go babe!!! Grateful for you and Kirra,” referring to Partridge’s eight-year-old daughter with ex-husband Corey Bohan.

The The Hills alum and Bohan were married from 2016 to 2018. Ray was also previously wed, to fellow country star Carly Pearce; the ex-couple was married for about eight months before the “I Hope You’re Happy Now” singer filed for divorce in 2020.

Partridge and Ray first sparked dating rumors in late June, with the former sharing a snap on her Story featuring a man who appeared to be the “Whiskey and Rain” artist holding her as they shared a kiss. “This one…,” she captioned the post at the time.

Their relationship confirmation comes a few weeks after Ray released his latest single “Drink With Our Friends” in the last week of May. Before that came “Hold,” which followed March’s “Nothin’ Else.”

Cardi B, Offset and their kids enjoyed a family day at Disneyland Paris earlier this week to kick off the celebrations for Kulture’s birthday.

The Grammy-winning rapper sported a massive silver Chanel bag that could fit just about everything her family could ever need at The Happiest Place on Earth.

The adventures continued on Wednesday with Cardi B giving fans a look into their eventful day via her Instagram Story at the zoo. Kulture and brother Wave had the chance to pet and feed giraffes. Kulture looked like a princess with a pink bedazzled dress, a pearl necklace and bow in her hair.

Earlier in the day, what appeared to be hotel staff presented her with a birthday cake as everyone joined in on singing “Happy Birthday” while momma Cardi captured some footage.

Last year, for Kulture’s fifth birthday, Cardi and Offset treated their daughter to a fun-filled day at Nickelodeon Universe in New Jersey.

With Cardi doing it big for Kulture’s sixth, the bar is high for their son Wave’s third birthday coming up in September.

Following the birthday festivities, it remains to be seen if Cardi will get back to music and her long-awaited sophomore album. She teased a Janet Jackson-sampling track earlier in July and appears determined to overcome her detractors praying on her downfall.

“I have everything planned, locked, and ready to go. Every thing I said I would do this year, I’m going to do it. Nothing is going to stop me. I proved myself before and I’m going to do it again… now rest,” she wrote on June 29.

Megan Thee Stallion Turns ‘Sailor Moon’ Into ‘Sailor Hottie’ for Viral TikTok Dance: Watch

Megan Thee Stallion loves her some anime. The Houston rapper transformed Sailor Moon into Sailor Hottie while cosplaying one of her favorite anime series.

Meg posted a TikTok on Tuesday (July 9) that’s gone viral and has over six million views as of press time. In the 12-second clip, Thee Stallion rocks a blue skirt and white gloves to go with her blonde wig to nail the Sailor Moon cosplay. Megan Thee Sailor trades in her twerking expertise to show off a few dance moves while gyrating to her Megan album standout “Mamushi” featuring Japanese rapper Yuki Chiba.

Megan completed her “rebirth” with the arrival of her Megan album on June 28, which featured UGK, Victoria Monet, GloRilla, Big K.R.I.T. and more. The LP debuted atop Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart after moving 64,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the tracking week of June 28 – July 4, according to Luminate.
