Billboard Arabia caught Nassif Zeytoun at a pivotal moment in his life. The singer has been in the spotlight across the Arab world since announcing his marriage to acclaimed actress Daniella Rahme on July 1. Alongside this significant personal milestone, Zeytoun is also experiencing a major professional shift with the tremendous success of his hit duet with Rahma Riad and a slew of upcoming projects, all of which he shared in this exclusive interview with Billboard Arabia.
We met Nassif in the brief window between his wedding and honeymoon. He and Daniella had kept their love story a secret for five years, away from the inquiring eyes of the press and fans. The news of their wedding only began to spread in the days leading up to their intimate ceremony in Jbeil, Lebanon, attended only by close family. Eventually, Nassif and Daniella shared their wedding pictures on social media, much to the delight of their fans across the Arab world. But for Nassif, his private life has always remained his own, while his work life is open to the public. “My personal opinion, and I don’t impose this on others, matters of the home are personal, whereas work matters are up for discussion,” says Nassif. Many of Nassif’s fans over the years were eager to learn more about his romantic relationship, particularly as a result of his penchant for love songs, including “Bel Ahlam” (In Dreams), which has found an eight-week placement on Billboard Arabia’s Hot 100.

Early on in his career, Nassif captured the hearts of the Arab public by winning season 7 of Star Academy, an Arabic reality television show, with his self-contained vocal quality, performability, and a notable level of professionalism he brought to the program. Even in those early days, Nassif made a significant impact on the Arabic music scene, sharing the stage with the legendary, late Wadiah Al Safi, who praised Nassif’s talent and predicted a bright future for him.
From that point on, Nassif’s ascent in the world of Levantine pop was rapid and remarkable. He consistently delivered hit after hit, each song showcasing his unique musical identity and becoming fan favorites. His breakthrough song, “Mich Aam Tezbat Maii” (It’s Not Working), released in 2014, has gone on to receive upward of 209 million views on YouTube, laying the perfect foundation for his debut album in 2013, Ya Samt(Silence), to flourish. In 2016, Toul Al Yom (All Day), marked the release of his follow-up album, with all 13 tracks becoming a setlist of summer anthems across the Arab world, and particularly the Levant.

This success was followed by several more acclaimed albums, including Bel Ahlam, with its title song continuing to hold strong in Billboard Arabia’s Hot 100. And with his songs reverberating across the Arab world, Nassif has become a highly demanded performer from reputable festivals such as Tunis’ Carthage International Festival, to concerts in Riyadh and Dubai, while making his way to international stages in Berlin and Sweden.
Nassif’s latest hit was his duet with his close friend Rahma Riad, who was his fellow contestant in Star Academy. Their friendship flourished over the years, culminating in April with the duet “Ma Fi Leil” (There Is No Night), which landed the No. 1 slot on Billboard Arabia’s Hot 100 the week it was released. Commenting on the duet, Nassif says: “Throughout my entire music career, everything has always been planned. But frankly, the one thing that was not planned was the duet with Rahma. Rahma and I started together and evolved together. It just so happened that we were in the same place, under the same management company. The stars were aligned, to be honest. I was offered a good song, and I suggested doing it with her. She liked it, and that’s how the song was made.”
Within hours of its release, “Ma Fi Leil” became one of the most-streamed songs in the Arab world. After the song landed on Billboard Arabia’s Hot 100 chart, it remained there for 12 consecutive weeks as of the time of writing.
Building on his music career, Nassif has recently launched his own production company called T-Start, where he explains the vision for this company: “I have an aspiration, not a fully defined vision. I have a personal aspiration for this company to produce my personal songs and the songs of several individuals who deserve to be in the music scene. I assure you that all the songs the company produces will be of the highest level, whether in terms of vocals, lyrics, melody, or execution.” He adds: “I’m currently producing my own songs. We worked on my first production with Rahma outside the company with the duet ‘Ma Fi Leil,’ and recently, a young woman with a very beautiful voice joined us. Her name is Luna Karam, and hopefully, in the coming days, she will release a song produced by T-Start. I have high hopes for her.”
Regarding his upcoming releases, Nassif shares insights: “I will hopefully release several songs soon…. I am now filming a new duet at the moment. I hope people will like it, the way it’s presented and the combination between me and the other artist. It’s a new idea, a new method, and I hope people will like it.”
As Nassif Zeytoun embarks on this new chapter in both his personal and professional life, it’s clear that his journey is far from over. With his marriage to Daniella Rahme and the immense success of his recent projects, Nassif continues to capture the hearts of fans across the Arab world. His dedication to his craft, coupled with his vision for his production company T-Start, promises an exciting future filled with innovative music, new collaborations, and contributions towards building the next phase of Arabic stars.

Team USA came, saw and conquered the women’s gymnastics final at the 2024 Olympics on Tuesday (July 30), winning gold with a nearly 6-point lead ahead of second-place team Italy.
Of course, the effort was led by certified G.O.A.T. Simone Biles, who becomes the most-decorated female American gymnast in history. The 171.296-point victory wouldn’t have been possible, however, without Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee and Hezly Rivera, who showed their strength across the uneven bars, vault, floor and balance beam events in Paris.
The five women now have an entire nation celebrating their triumph, including some of the United States’ biggest musicians. Keith Urban, who attended the event with wife Nicole Kidman, took to X to shout out each of the team members, writing on X, “What a phenomenal night at the Olympics here in Paris ! Team USA Gymnastics: G O L D.”

Lil Wayne also sang their praises, tweeting, “USA!!! USA!!! … I fkn luv it!!!! Historical! Kongrats to both the male and female teams in the Olympics !”
Plus, Jennifer Hudson simply posted on the platform, “SIMONE !!!!!!,” while Megan Thee Stallion shared a video of Biles dancing along to her song “Where Them Girls At?” after their win, adding three heart-eyes emojis.
Lady Gaga — who performed at the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday — is also likely celebrating the news right about now. The pop star was in attendance at the women’s qualification two days prior to the final and posted a video of Biles doing her vault routine, captioned, “What an honor to be so close!”
Snoop Dogg, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and more stars have shown up in person this week to cheer the women’s team on as well.

During an appearance on Candace Owens’ podcast, Amber Rose claimed that her ex-husband Wiz Khalifa encouraged her to endorse former president Donald Trump.
Around the 28:55 mark, the subject of Rose’s infamous photo with Trump and his wife Melania came up, and Owens asked when the model decided to make her political affiliation public. “My ex-husband actually told me to do it — Wiz,” Amber responded. “He told me to do it, yeah. Although, he’s not political at all and he’s not voting — he doesn’t want to be in that world whatsoever. He’s really one of my best friends, I love him so much, still to this day. He’s just such a great person.”

She continued, “But I went to him and I was just like, ‘I feel like I’m living a lie.’ And it’s so much more than Trump, but just me as a person. I was just like, ‘I’m so unhappy. I’m starting to hate everyone,’ and I was never like that. I was always full of love. I just wanna be me and I don’t know how to be me.”
Rose added: “I told him I wanted to post the picture. He’s like, ‘Amber, post that sh–.’ … I’m like, ‘For real? I should?’ He’s like, ‘Do it. Who cares? You’re voting for Trump, is that what you wanna do?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m kind of really into it.’ … He put a battery in my back and I was like, ‘All right, I’m gonna do it.’”
Since posting that picture on her Instagram back in May, Rose has become an ardent supporter of Trump’s campaign. She gave a speech at the Republican National Convention earlier this month, where she claimed that the media lied about Trump and his supporters being racists and bigots.
“[I] care about the truth, and the truth is that the media has lied to us about Donald Trump. I know this because for a long time I believed those lies,” she said, later adding, “I realized Donald Trump and his supporters don’t care if you’re Black, white, gay or straight. It’s all love. And that’s when it hit me: These are my people. This is where I belong.”

Maren Morris‘ new EP may be called Intermission, but she says she’s actually pulling back the curtain on her true emotions on the project instead of drawing it closed.
In a video posted to Instagram on Monday (July 29), the 34-year-old singer-songwriter opened up about the title of her five-track mini-album, which drops this Friday. “Calling this project Intermission was intentional,” she told followers. “It’s a break in the act, and for me, it’s definitely an act break and new chapter of my life, and I’m so ready to see what’s on the other page.
“I just am so proud of this music,” she continued. “It wasn’t easy to write, because I’m going through a lot, and this is the diary of that. But it’s also the most fun music as well as the most heartbreaking because i’m allowing myself to go there — ’cause I don’t have to protect anyone anymore. It’s just about my feelings. So, I hope you love it.”

Led by the single “Cut!” featuring Julia Michaels, Intermission marks Morris’ first proper batch of songs since filing for divorce from fellow songwriter Ryan Hurd, with whom she shares 4-year-old son Hayes, in October. At the time, Morris’ lawyers stated that the ex-couple was “unable to live together successfully as husband and wife,” and were “experiencing irreconcilable differences in their marriage.”
The Grammy winner touched on her split earlier this month ahead of the release of another Intermission single, “I Hope I Never Fall in Love.” “It’s pretty self-explanatory from the title, having just gone through a giant breakup,” she said of the track in an Instagram video. “Just not wanting to go down that path again, and wanting to keep things casual, and really just lean into the ‘situationship’ of it all.”
Morris’ new video comes about a week after Brittany Aldean rehashed their 2022 feud over gender-affirming healthcare in a podcast interview, calling the “The Middle” singer’s feminist views “bulls–t.” “She’s got a group of friends here in Nashville that, they just have it out for me for whatever reason,” the former NBA dancer said of the musician on Try That in a Small Town. “She started to make fun of my business, which at the time was hair extensions. Going back to the feminist movement … aren’t you supposed to be all peace, love and all inclusivity and all the things?”
