MSCHF, the Brooklyn-based art collective that landed on many radars with the release of their Big Red Boot just dropped a new boot that’s sure to get people talking once more. Tapping legendary Brooklyn native Spike Lee, MSCHF is set to release its new 2X4 Boot that is most certainly a riff on a classic boot beloved by many in New York and abroad.
As spotted on Nice Kicks, it appears that the MSCHF 2X4 Boot is an elaborate return shot at VF Corp, the company that owns Timberland. According to the outlet, the 2X4 Boot is in response to VF Corp taking legal measures to halt the sale of the brand’s Wavy Baby shoe collaboration with Tyga, which took the classic Vans silhouette and added some wavy flair. Max B would’ve loved these sneakers, if you catch our drift.

More from Nice Kicks:

The latest from MSCHF is a continuation of the brand’s satirical outlook as the brand pokes fun at Timberland, owned by VF Corp, which also serves as the parent company for Vans.
Vans successfully won an appeal to prevent MSCHF from selling its “Wavy Baby” shoes and the Brooklyn-based art collective has returned to troll Vans’ parent company, VF Corp, with a knock-off boot of its subsidiary Timberland brand.
The 2X4 Boot drops on March 19 and retails for $400. We expect this one to have a nice run similar to the Big Red Boot and the backstory is one for the ages.

Latino households know that Fabuloso (not to be confused with Fabolous) is a requirement when keeping your house smelling so fresh and so clean. Now you too can smell like a clean home thanks to the good people over at MSCHF.

According to Hypebeast, MSCHF is dropping some new cologne that is inspired by the popular home cleaning product alongside another cologne inspired by WD-40 for the more manliest of men. Still, we’re sure that most heads out there would rather smell like a freshly mopped casa than a greasy auto shop when stepping out in hopes of landing a cutie in the club. Sure, she might think you’re a janitor or something, but at least you’ll smell clean… literally.
Per Hypebeast:

Packaged in a long, thin purple-and-gold tube with a clever logo flip that nods to the Fabuloso logo and bottle, the cologne’s debut arrives alongside the restock of another “popular” MSCHF scent, one inspired by WD-40. That scent follows the same bottle-inspired design and logo-flip embellishment as its compatriot, and both are packaged in one-ounce tubes.
The two-pack of cologne is MCSHF’s first drop of the year, following the release of both “Super Baby” sneakers and a collaborative iteration of the Gobstomper sneaker made with tool company Dremel in November 2023. Both releases followed shortly after the collective opened a retrospective museum exhibit titled NOTHING IS SACRED in Korea.
Both scents are on sale now on MSCHF.com for a cool $48. Will you be copping either of these joints? Let us know in the comments section below.

Oh y’all thought MSCHF’s Big Red “Astro Boy” Boots was ridiculous? Wait to you see what they got coming down the pike next.

Hypebeast is reporting that after revealing their latest sneaker, the Super Normal 2 “Mint Green” (not bad), MSCHF is focusing on their wildest creation to date, the “BWD” silhouette which seems like the footwear of someone who got stuck between two different dimensions or something. Boasting two entrances per foot, the strange design is sure to be an attention grabber though we’re not sure it’ll be a hit amongst customers who take their fashion style seriously.

The two-way silhouette is likely the first of its kind, boasting dual foot entrances allowing for multiple styling options. In addition, standard toe boxes — usually concealed and ventilated — are completely unlatched, while customary compartments are also left open for a mule-like design.
The rest of the sneaker remains simple, featuring white leather uppers (or whatever is left of them) with pierced medial decor and striped ankle graphics. Reminiscent of ’90s skate shoes, it dons a chunky outline complemented by red suede heel counters with MSCHF’s triple exclamation point motif and arrows that might signal correct wearability. Finally, cautionary branding continues across the pair, stacked atop angular speckled midsoles and ribbed gum bottoms.

Yeah, we good on these. Let thy sneaker bots eateth on this particular sneaker drop.
No word on how much these mutt puppies will be going for but they’re slated to drop exclusively via the MSCHF app on April 11th.

Good news sneakerheads, it seems like this new generation of hypebeasts may actually leave us some good chances to copp our favorite Jordans and Dunks as they ditch the OG look for a more, well, futuristic fit.

Highsnobiety is reporting that Brooklyn-based brand MSCHF has just brought to life Astro Boy’s signature Big Red Boots and believe it or not, heads are actually walking around in these. Just yesterday the Oklahoma City Thunder’s star point guard, Shai Gilgeous Alexander rolled up to last night’s highly anticipated game against the LA Lakers in a pair of the MSCHF boots seemingly ready to find out who framed Roger Rabbit or something.

Needless to say this isn’t our particular flavor, but if it means this next generation of heads will focus their bots and backdooring on cartoonish boots while we cop our favorite retro sneakers at an easier clip, then hey, we’re all for it. In an era where heads like to standout and be “different” for the sake of social media, you can bet you’ll see a few of these floating around your neighborhood depending on availability.
“The Big Red boot is a realization of a specific sort of cartoonish abstraction of a shoe,” MSCHF co-founder Daniel Greenberg tells Highsnobiety.
“In cartoon world, representation works with reduced information to immediately imply an object, rather literally depict it. The Big Red Boot works on a similar principle, where it is an absurd, simplified form that conveys the idea of “BOOT” without worrying too much about the particulars of realism.”

Remember the flack that Fat Joe got for looking like Thanos when he wore those Kanye boots? Those seem rather pedestrian by comparison these days. Just saying. Though the boots look rather flimsy, apparently they’re actually pretty sturdy.

“From a technical perspective, the BRB pushes the envelope of its single-mold-shell design, simply because it is really large,” Greenberg says. “It’s shot in a much higher quality material and process than, say, a rain boot, or other thin-walled low-cost boots.”
Naturally MSCHF doesn’t want anymore legal smoke so they aren’t dubbing these the “Astro Boy” boots, but the kicks will go live on February 16th on their website and will retail for $350. You have to wonder what this new creation could lead to in the future. Before you know it it’s gonna start looking like a Mega Man game out on these streets or something.
