Early last week, it was reported that the highly anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul had been derailed after Mike Tyson’s ulcer suddenly flared up, and while fans were disappointed in the news, the fight is still scheduled to go down just not on July 20 as originally planned.

According to ESPN, the big fight between boxing legend Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned fighter, Jake Paul has been rescheduled to Nov. 15 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The new date will land right as the NFL season is underway so the new date will become a “Friday Night Fight” affair as the Dallas Cowboys have a game Monday night (Nov. 18) and would need the weekend to properly set up the field for their game against their rival Houston Texans.

Aside from the highly anticipated big fight between Iron Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, the night will also feature the big rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano for Taylor’s Undisputed Super Lightweight Championship. All in all, it should be a good night for boxing enthusiasts all around.
“Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time, as well as allowing us to keep the event at AT&T stadium in the midst of the Cowboys season,” said Nakisa Bidarian, Most Valuable Promotions co-founder, in a statement. “We appreciate the outstanding dedication, collaboration, and flexibility of our partners at Netflix and AT&T Stadium. Paul vs. Tyson is the most cross generational sporting event in history, and we are committed to providing fans worldwide with this unforgettable night of boxing, live globally on Netflix. We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday, November 15 for a showdown that will be talked about for generations to come.”
Well, at least it’s still happening. For a minute there it seemed like the entire event was in danger of being canceled altogether after Mike Tyson’s health scare.

Fans will have to wait to see if Iron Mike Tyson is able to beat the brakes off Jake Paul. Due to the former’s recent medical scare on a flight, their bout scheduled for July has been postponed.

The fight was originally scheduled for July 20 in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and was to stream live on Netflix. However, on Saturday, June 1, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions announced that the bout was being postponed.

Apparently, Tyson’s medical emergency was due to an ulcer flaring up. Since he will be unable to fully train for several weeks, both boxers agreed to push the fight back out of fairness. A new date for the match will be shared on Friday, June 7th.

“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” said Tyson in a statement. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”
Added Paul in his own statement: “I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night. My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake — when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish. Paul vs Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to bring my best for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”
While Jake Paul is 27, Mike Tyson is 57.

Mike Tyson suffered a health scare while in midair and is now recovering despite having a major boxing event coming in the next few weeks. The former heavyweight world champion suffered an ulcer flare-up and appears to be expected to go forward with his bout with social media star Jake Paul.
As seen on Deadline, Mike Tyson, 57, was on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles when the flare-up occurred. As the outlet reports, flight attendants rushed to the boxing legend’s aid and requested the assistance of a doctor on board.

More from Deadline:

“He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing, a rep for Tyron said in a statement to media outlets. “He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him” and is now feeling “great”, the rep added.
Flight attendants reached out to passengers to see if a doctor was on board when Tyson revealed he was in intense pain. Paramedics reportedly boarded the plane when it landed to assist Tyson.
Tyson is set to take on Paul, 27, in Arlington, Texas at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium on July 20. Paul has said in interviews that while he respects Tyson, he isn’t going to pull any punches. Tyson promises that the fight isn’t a money grab and that he intends to bring the fight to Paul.

Iron Mike Tyson is returning to the ring, and pay-per-view won’t be needed since it’s going down on Netflix. The boxing icon will be squaring up with YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul in July, but they held their first press conference on Monday, May 13 in Harlem to promote the fight.

Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) and Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) came face to face at The Apollo Theater in Harlem for a lighthearted press conference hosted by combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani. The two friends, who have been calling each other out for years, traded relatively tame shots, but Tyson was clear that once they enter that ring, they are not homies. “Once he’s in that ring, he has to fight like his life depends on it, because it will be,” said Iron Mike, who also drew laughs when he admitted he felt terrible and was “sore” from training.
With Mike pushing 60, Paul is no slouch, and is plenty confident. “I’m going to show the world that I can outbox Mike Tyson, prove everyone wrong, and show that I will be the one doing the killing,” said Paul.
Good luck with that.

Paul and Tyson are scheduled to go eight, two-minute round for their pro bout. The fight will be streaming live globally on Netflix on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Also in attendance was the top tier “undercard” match up of super lightweight world champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) and Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs), the unified featherweight world champion. In this rematch, Taylor will be defending her undisputed title in a scheduled 10, two-minute rounds.
