2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Red Carpet: Best Photos

It’s that time of year again, when some of music’s greatest living legends gather together to celebrate one another’s immense impact on culture, with Cyndi Lauper, the White Stripes, Outkast and more getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2025 on Saturday (Nov. 8).

As it is every year, the ceremony was full of all the history, live music and glitz and glamour viewers have come to expect of the annual event. In addition to the many honorees who were in attendance, stars such as Questlove, Jennifer Hudson, Raye and LL Cool J were also present, many of them walking the red carpet at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles before watching and/or taking part in the programming. Fans then saw modern A-listers including Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan help welcome their personal idols into the hall’s hallowed ranks, with the former rocking out alongside Feist to honor the Stripes, and the latter singing “True Colors” and giving a speech to fete Lauper.

In her acceptance — one of several poignant remarks that took place throughout the historic night — Lauper got right to the heart of what the night was all about. “I know that I stand on the shoulders of the women in the industry that came before me, and my shoulders are broad enough to have the women that come after me to stand on mine,” she said. “The little kid in me still believes that rock n’ roll can save the world.”

Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo and more share their favorite tunes on the red carpet of the premiere.

Finn Wolfhard:

Probably some punk or some metal. Eddie from season four probably got into his got into his head, and got him into some heavier music. So maybe Metallica? 

Noah Schnapp:

It’s Will Byers, I feel like he’s very like indie, maybe like boy genius, like just a little indie. 

I like that.

Noah Schnapp:

Maybe I should just go with a classic. My favorite, “Forever Young.” 

Gaten Matarazzo:

This is very good, like a hype up song. We need something to hype you up a little bit. Maybe we could go with like… 

Beyonce?

Gaten Matarazzo:

Oh my gosh. How about all of ‘Renaissance.’

Oh, my God. ‘Renaissance?’ 

Gaten Matarazzo:

The tour was amazing. I didn’t get to see ‘Cowboy Carter’

Act three we have to be there. 

Gaten Matarazzo:

Yes, I’ll be able to make it two for three.

Priah Ferguson:

Maybe Whitney Houston.

Can we expect a Sombr November? We’re giving you the rundown of some of the contenders on this Week’s Hot 100. Ella Langley had a promising viral moment in the past years. 

But will this track tug at people’s heartstrings and take it to the top?

This song had a great debut on the Hot 100 recently, and I feel like it’s gonna crack the top 40 on the latest chart. It also has a big start at Country Airplay. So I think getting that country boost and at that format is going to really help it. 

Tetris Kelly:

“Man I Need” stays steadily climbing. Can she crack the top three?

Delisa Shannon:

We’ve seen so much excitement around this song. Also, like we know she’s been opening up for Sabrina Carpenter, opening her up to a completely new audience. The song is inescapable right now, so I would not be surprised if she’s cracking the top three next week. 

Tetris Kelly:

“Back to Friends” may bring Sombr his first top 10.

Trevor Anderson:

Called it a Sombr September a couple months ago. Maybe it’s gonna be a Somber November instead. But the song “Back to Friends” is really making its way up. No. 12 this week on the Hot 100, so only a few spots outside of the top 10, very much on the cusp of the top 10 on the Pop Airplay chart.

Live music and live entertainment is really the source, and I’m happy to be able to say that I built a career that I have, but it is primarily because of my live performance that I have rebounded my hardest times.

The one and only Usher was honored as Touring Artist of the Year at the 2025 Billboard Live Music Summit and Awards. The annual event, which was held at One hotel West Hollywood, brings together the biggest names and innovators in the live music industry. The eight-time Grammy winner reflected on his live performance legacy and how it brings him closer to his fans.

Usher:

To have that intimacy is a dedication, it’s a commitment between me and an audience member, one they spent their hard-earned money to come and see me. And I want to, I want to impress them, but I would like to be as theatrical and use my imagination as much as I possibly can.

Tetris Kelly:

Billboard cover star Rauw Alejandro spoke at the event and shared what his experience was like touring while on the rise in Latin music.

Rauw Alejandro:

When I saw everybody singing my songs in Spanish, I was like, “What the h*ll is going on in here? Okay, we’re here.”

The Billboard Live Music Summit was a day of conversation, spotlighting emerging industry topics, including sustainable touring, mindfulness and music, and fan first ticketing, among others.

As they say, right? I also think that this fusion has been present in the way we see music and how we express it. One of my biggest missions today is to bring our roots back and give them a freshness — a new version for all the new generations. In a way, it’s about bringing what Mexico is, what Sonora is, to the world while fusing it with global music, which has so much to offer and showcase.

Kali Uchis: The Fan Mail says: “Honestly, I’ve never seen a tour so beautiful. I can’t wait anymore to cry to ‘Heaven Is a Home’ live.” Yes, I feel like almost every night I’m going to cry too with that song. It’s so emotional! 

Ela Taubert: “Bestie, your songs are a Band-Aid for the soul. Going to the concert recharged me so much. These last few days in my life have been heavy.” Honestly, I’ve always thought this dream — like God put it in my life — to allow me to meet you and the fans. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives.

Jowell: “It’s good to be great, but greater is to be good.” That’s interesting. I’d heard that phrase from a salsa legend, Héctor Lavoe, who’s from Ponce, Puerto Rico.

And like, what’s the story behind Barney’s Beanery? Like, you guys come here often? Like, why did we pick here to hang out today? 

Ashton: Oh, because Outback Steakhouse said no. I thought you guys already knew that.

Luke: Which is some bulls–t, honestly because you know what? Outback Steakhouse started by a Floridian guy. 

Calum: Yes, he’s not even Australian. 

Luke: And we go, “Oh, we’re the biggest band from Australia.” 

Ashton: And he has the hide to say, “No thanks.” 

Luke: He says, “No.” You dropped- I don’t know which camera to go to. I’m gonna go to all of them.  Applebees saying no? Fumbled the bag. Chili’s saying no like that’s fair, but Outback, like, come on. I thought, I thought we were cool. 

Ashton: At the end of the day, we have to thank the Beanery. Thank you for having us. It’s our sweet sanctuary. You were our fourth choice.

I do. I do. I was dancing until I was about five years old, tap, hip hop and ballet, believe it. Then gymnastics took over so.

Jordan Chiles 

Are you sure? I ain’t trying to embarrass myself?

She did. Had me doing aerials and cartwheels.

‘Wicked,’ it’s one of the most successful Broadway musicals of all time featuring beloved songs like “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” and “For Good.” In 2024, after many years of development, director Jon M. Chu turned this musical into a blockbuster film starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Reviving the story of Oz once again for a new generation of fans. Now that it’s 2025, it’s time for Jon Chu to do it again in the second installment of his film adaptation which is called ‘Wicked: For Good.’ Today, we’re going to talk to the director himself, Jon M. Chu, and supervising music editor, Jack Dolman, about how t hey transformed the iconic songs of ‘Wicked’ for the big screen. Welcome back to On the Record, a music industry podcast from Billboard and SickBird Productions. As always, I’m your host, Kristin Robinson, and we have a very special episode today. The second part of the ‘Wicked’ story will debut later this month on November 21st featuring all the same characters you came to know and love in part one, but this movie will feature two new songs, “Girl In The Bubble” and “No Place Like Home,” which were not included in the stage production. These additions point to the challenges and opportunities that the big screen poses to any musical adaptation, especially one like this where the source material has been bisected into two separate films. These new songs help fill out the second half of the ‘Wicked’ story in which the tale of Elphaba and Glinda finally catches up to Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.

Rosalía Talks to Billboard About Her Divine Confidence | Billboard Latin

Rosalía speaks with Billboard about the confidence that divine inspiration brought her for her new album ‘LUX’ and explains how JUSTICE taught her the correct pronunciation of Sauvignon Blanc.

How will fans be surprised by this album?

Rosalía: I think they will be surprised. I hope they will be, but you never know. So I prefer not to hype it up too much, if you know what I mean. I’d rather say that this album is very different from the previous one, and also completely different from other past albums. However, in some way, it’s still connected. I believe there’s a connection to previous projects. It’s like it responds to or resonates with or is related to other works I’ve done before, even though it’s entirely different. I believe spirituality is something that has accompanied me since I was young, and I feel deeply grateful to have been able to create an album like this one, where the inspiration comes from mysticism and spirituality. I understand spirituality as coming from a place of openness. I’m really drawn to the concept of post-religion, of that openness—being able to resonate with ideas from Christianity in the same way one might resonate with ideas from Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism or Islam. There are so many different religions in the world, and they are all so inspiring, each offering valuable lessons to learn from.

What’s your favorite song on this album?

Rosalía: Personally, I don’t have favorite songs. I don’t have any favorite songs of my own. I don’t feel particularly attached to my music. It’s neither love nor hate—it’s more like, “I needed to release this, so I’m letting it go now.” So no, I don’t have a favorite. I prefer for others to listen to it and choose their own favorite. I’d be happy with whatever they choose.
