This is the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 for the week dated March 8. Down to 10 is “Squabble Up.” Teddy is back in the top 10 as is Chappell Roan up to eight. “Birds of a Feather” is at seven. “APT.” is at No. 6, Shaboozey climbs back up to five. “TV Off” is still at No. 4. “Not Like Us” drops to three, as Gaga and Bruno are up a spot to two. And grabbing a second week at No. 1 are Kendrick and SZA with “Luther.”

Sebastián Yatra Talks New Single ‘La Peliroja,’ New Album & More | Billboard In Conversation

Ahead of Sebastián Yatra’s performance at Viña del Mar, the singer sits down with Billboard to share the inspiration behind his upcoming single, “La Peliroja,” reveals a new album is coming this year, his friendship with Carlos Vives, performing on Broadway and more!

Hi, Sebas.

Sebastián Yatra:
Hi, Leila. How are you?

It’s been many years. I was here with my story of sadness, and I said the last time I sat down to talk with Sebastián seriously was when he put out Dharma, and we did an Instagram Live.

And we were also in Austin for City Limits.

No, for SXSW. 

SXSW we saw each other.

Ah, you’re right! SXSW.

We were there having a conversation with the public and live.

It was fun!

It was super cool. 

And what has happened since then? 

What hasn’t happened? Wow! What I can tell you that hasn’t happened yet is that I haven’t put out a new album since Dharma.

I know. 

So I haven’t put out anything in three years.

Why, Sebastián?

With my albums, I’ve taken a long time with each one. It’s been almost 10 years of my career and up until now I’ve put out three albums, so it ends up being one every three years. 

Like the old days?

Yes, like the old days a little bit. We’ll do one and we’ll give it time like every song someone puts out. I think that there are some songs that are really special, and especially in today’s world, there’s a lot of information, and it’s worth it to give them their place.

So tell me about ‘BINIverse’ and how excited you guys were to release it. 

BINI:

Yes, we were so excited for this EP. We had a lot of songs lined up, and we really took the time to really choose the ones we felt perfect for this era. There’s one for when we have a crush, a song about not caring about the pressure. We even have a track where we collaborated with an international artist, Jae Park. For this EP we waned to showcase the versatility of BINI. We called it ‘BINIverse’ because we wanted to create something that feels like a universe of emotions of music, where people can find a song that speaks to them. Oh, well, I think the fans, they really like it. It really gives you this LSS type of effect. And it’s very easy. Like, the melody, it’s easy to pick up, and also the steps, it’s very literal. Like, if you like me, blink twice, the whole message of the song is very simple. It’s an easy listen. And I think the music video also added to the effect, as it was so cute. It was so futuristic. Yeah, the transitions and it was just, what do you call this an eyegasm? If you’d say, yeah. 

Oh, I like that, eyegasm. I mean, “Cherry On Top” was like a massive single for you guys as well. So how’d it feel to finally release the EP?

Katy Perry just announced she’s heading to space. But before she does, we talk to her about Gaga, her daughter Daisy and how she’s bringing us to her planet on the Lifetimes World Tour. And we have an exclusive first look at the stage.

So tell me how good you feel that you’re gonna get to see everybody, all across the globe. 

Katy Perry:
It’ll be the first time I’ve seen everyone in this way, you know, for almost seven and a half, eight years. So they say that, you know, it only takes seven years for all of your cells to rejuvenate, so I’m biologically, I’m a whole different human.

Brand new Katy. 

Brand new human. It’s a brand new me. 

That’s amazing. And then, I mean, you’ve always had iconic looks. That’s a part of your whole thing. And like every tour has this personality that people get excited to come see, especially the Vegas show.

The photos went wide, I mean, me and a toilet with a poop. 

So what’s your favorite part of planning this, and how do you make them feel so different? 

I feel like I have created completely different worlds with every single tour that I’ve ever done, even from the very beginning, when I didn’t have a lot of resources, I still created a world. And the worlds have just gotten bigger and bigger, and they’re very experiential. I mean, I remember my one of my first tours, the California Dreams Tour, we were like injecting the smell of cotton candy into the arenas before the audiences loaded in.

UNIS Is Billboard’s K-Pop Rookie of the Month for February: Exclusive Photos

With their first anniversary just a month away, UNIS looks back on a year of unforgettable moments and exciting changes. In an exclusive interview, the members share what they have learned, how they’ve evolved, and the new challenges they’re ready to embrace.

In about a month, you’ll celebrate your one-year anniversary since debut. What has been the most memorable moment of the past year and why?

HYEONJU: My debut is the moment I remember most. It was UNIS’s very first step, and it remains vividly imprinted in my memory.

NANA: I feel the same way.

GEHLEE: I loved the experience of our very first fan signing at a shopping mall in the Philippines. It was my first time witnessing firsthand how deeply my hometown fans adore UNIS. It was truly an honor.

KOTOKO: For me, the day I first met our fans is unforgettable. Meeting those I had longed to see filled me with immense joy.

YUNHA: I believe our debut moment is the most memorable. Revealing UNIS to our eagerly waiting fans was incredibly nerve-racking!

ELISIA: It was during the KBS Music Festival, sharing the stage with our seniors in our first collaborative performance on such a grand scale. UNIS’s “Curious” featured a fresh, fun intro and an energetic dance break that made it especially enjoyable.

YOONA: I clearly remember when we received our first rookie award. It was a prize we had dreamed of, and it felt like a true recognition of all our hard work.

SEOWON: my birthday in 2025 stands out. It was the day I truly realized how much EverAfter supports me and why I started this journey.

Comparing your early days to now, what has been the biggest change?

HYEONJU: It’s the sense of responsibility. Initially, I felt an overwhelming pressure to “do well,” but now I trust my members and simply think, “We’ll be great.”

NANA: I’d say the biggest change is that I’ve grown 1cm taller since debuting!

GEHLEE: I feel much more relaxed and confident. The training after the debut has helped tremendously, and improving my Korean has made adaptation so much easier. I really feel like I’m on the right track now.

KOTOKO: It seems that everything has changed, especially my ability to express myself through a variety of facial expressions.

Over the past year, is there a particular skill or quality you’d like to pass on to your fellow members?

NANA: I want to learn English from ELISIA and GEHLEE!

KOTOKO: HYEONJU’s charisma is incredibly captivating.

ELISIA: I used to move gently and fluidly, but since coming to Korea, I’ve learned to execute sharper, move quickly.

YOONA: I admire ELISIA’s wide range of expressions on music shows and stage performances. I’d love to learn that from her.

SEOWON: I’d love to learn knitting from the talented YUNHA!

As a multinational group representing Korea, Japan, and the Philippines, how do you integrate this strength into your stage, performances, and music?

HYEONJU: Our multinational makeup naturally enhances our expressiveness.

NANA: Knowing the tastes of each country gives us a unique advantage to incorporate diverse elements into our performances.

KOTOKO: Our ability to cover Japanese, Filipino, and various other songs is a major strength.

YUNHA: Being multinational means we can cover songs from our respective countries and showcase new facets of ourselves in different languages.

YOONA: At fan signings, for instance, many international fans attend. We communicate in three languages and even perform cover dances to foreign songs.

With the fandom name “EverAfter” in mind, what special memories do you hope to create with your fans in the future?

GEHLEE: I dream of holding a concert just for EverAfter. Seeing fans holding light sticks and sparkling like stars on stage would be an unforgettable moment, Everafter our fandom name.

KOTOKO: I want to embark on a world tour and meet EverAfter fans around the globe.

SEOWON: I envision opening a café exclusively for EverAfter fans, staffed entirely by UNIS!

Which cities would you like to visit on a world tour?

HYEONJU: I want to visit countries on the other side of the globe. I’ve been to nearby countries, but I’ve yet to meet EverAfter fans from the farthest corners of the world.

NANA: Japan, since it’s my hometown. It would be a dream to visit on tour someday.

KOTOKO: Me too!

GEHLEE: Personally, I’d love to visit New York or Paris. Their fashion scenes fascinate me and meeting fans there would be incredibly exciting.

YUNHA: I’d go anywhere EverAfter is present. I visited Taiwan briefly for a performance and, although it was short, I loved the city’s vibe and would love to return.

ELISIA: I aim to perform at Japan’s Kyocera Dome. I want to become a world-star artist and take the stage there!

YOONA: I’d like to visit Singapore. It’s a country I’ve always wanted to see, with beautiful scenery and a wonderful atmosphere.

SEOWON: For me, it’s Paris and New York. I’ve always wanted to visit these cities at least once.

What is UNIS’s goal for this year?

HYEONJU, KOTOKO, YUNHA, ELISIA, YOONA, SEOWON: Our goal is to top all the music shows!

NANA: For me, it’s all about meeting as many EverAfter fans as possible!

GEHLEE: It would be amazing to hold a UNIS-only concert this year. Even though each of us brings a unique charm, we’re working together to deliver a spectacular performance.

What new aspects or endeavors can fans expect from UNIS in 2025?

HYEONJU: We plan to showcase many sides of UNIS that we haven’t had the chance to reveal before.

NANA: While we’ve always shown a cool image, we’d also love to show a cuter side of ourselves.

GEHLEE: I believe UNIS won’t be confined to a single concept. We’re ready to display everything from cute and lovable to chic and cool. Fans can look forward to a variety of styles next year.

YUNHA: Now that we’re nearing our first anniversary, we hope fans will see a more refined and dynamic performance that reflects our growth from countless stage experiences.

What must UNIS overcome to be recognized as the representative 5th generation girl group?

HYEONJU: I think it comes down to growth. We must continue to develop and show progress.

GEHLEE: To be acknowledged as the leading 5th generation girl group, we need to better showcase our unique identity. With so many amazing groups out there, it’s vital that we continually cultivate and enhance UNIS’s distinctive charm through our performances, music, and teamwork.

YUNHA: For me, it’s about mastering our mindset and always challenging ourselves with confidence is the key.

ELISIA: We must connect people of all generations through our music.

SEOWON: We need to carve out our own unique identity rather than being just another ordinary girl group. That’s how we can present ourselves as a fresh, innovative act to the public.

Are there any hidden talents or personal skills among the members that fans might not know about?

NANA: My fingers are very flexible!

GEHLEE: I’m not sure if it’s a talent, but I frequently notice “angel numbers” like 111, 2222, and 3737, whether on clocks, license plates, or suddenly appearing in my surroundings.

KOTOKO: I’d say it’s HYEONJU. She’s our very own “food expert” who knows all the best eats!

ELISIA: SEOWON can make the most amazing sauces. They’re so delicious, they completely blew me away!

It’s been Kendrick Lamar’s year, and as we’ve taken this month to highlight Latin and Black artists, we close out Black History Month by spotlighting someone who is what the culture’s feeling. After a Drake beef that reached a peak with the release of “Not Like Us,” K. Dot had to pop out and show ’em at his Juneteenth show. That Billboard No. 1 was his fourth, and he’s collected two more since including the recent topper “Luther” with SZA. SZA also joined him on the world’s biggest stage at this year’s Super Bowl. Oh yeah, and that was after he racked up five Grammys at this year’s ceremony. Kendrick Lamar, the icon, the legend, the moment, and we salute you.

Carín León:
Thank you so much. 

How are you? It’s a pleasure to have you!

Thank you. 

We’re so honored to have you here at Viña, on the day of your show. 

We’re almost there, almost desperate and a little restless, nervous, but fascinated to be here and so far away.

Your debut at Viña del Mar, can you believe it? Obviously it’s a very different crowd that maybe hasn’t listened to a lot of regional, and now …

Yes, look, the truth is that I think, and I always say this, we had no idea when we started this whole thing. We didn’t know how far we’d go or all the things we’d be able to achieve. But it makes me really happy that this is happening with Latin music in general, and above everything else, with our Regional Mexican genre. Today, everyone listens to it everywhere, so we’re here, happy with life and eager to continue promoting Mexico’s name, especially here since we’re so far away. It’s a really important show.

And I love that because it’s been opening — I don’t know if you’ve noticed — but opening different doors. You were in Madrid with an incredible concert. You literally brought “El Palenque” to Madrid.

Right now, my favorite sport is baseball. Baseball is like, kind of like a chill, moderate sport, and with a little high energy. I just like the finesse of it. It’s just fire. My mom, my grandmothers, my dad, my aunts, and my whole family always went HBCU, Prairie View, Grambling. So I come from a long line of family that’s been there. It’s always been instilled in me. So it’s good to just try to, like, uplift it and get it to the next level. 

Tyla: 

Am I an athlete? Guys, I don’t even know what a bleacher is. I don’t know how to catch, how to throw, but Imma a play because this is for charity, a good cause. A lot of people showed out. People are screaming excited. 

Teyana Taylor

I feel like, if I put my mind to any sport, I could really do any sport. I’m very athletic. I wouldn’t say I’m like, the best, but like, I put my mind to it, yeah. 

Swae Lee: 

I used to play softball when I was like eight. I caught like eight balls last year. So, you know, I’m saying in the outfield with it.

Sydney Thomas: 

I’ve never played softball before, so I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t talk trash. I’m very calm, but I will destroy.

Slim:

I’m an athlete. 

Bun B:

Who me? I’m in the service industry.

Slim:

I ain’t trying to do too- nothing that’s gonna make my knees go bad. I just run straight. Let’s do track.

There’s a musical showdown coming to Hollywood! This Sunday, the 97th Academy Awards will take place at the legendary Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The stars will be out on the carpet, but the real battle will be inside as ‘Wicked’ and ‘Emilia Pérez’ compete for Best Picture.

And the fans have already begun taking sides. Both films have taken pop culture by storm. From finger comforting memes, to sing-alongs, these musicals have been everywhere. Even stars like Keke Palmer can’t get enough. Zoe Saldana has been racking up award wins for Best Supporting Actress for her performance. She’s already won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, a Critics Choice Award, and most recently she won the SAG. Her odds are looking pretty good to take home that fella named Oscar this Sunday. Speaking of the big day, ‘Emilia Pérez’ leads with 13 Oscar nominations to ‘Wicked’s’ 10. Both films join a very prestigious list of musicals to have received 10 or more Oscar nominations that include: 1965’s ‘The Sound of Music’ starring Julie Andrews, 1961’s ‘West Side Story’ with Rita Moreno, and 2002’s ‘Chicago’ starring the stacked cast of Queen Latifah, Cathria Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere, and Renee Zellweger.

Now, while we don’t have a crystal ball like Elphaba, so we’ll just have to wait until Sunday to see if one of these musicals can take on the award for Best Picture. But until then, stay tuned here at Billboard News for more in music and pop culture.

Kendrick Lamar continues to dominate the top 10, but a couple of new faces join him. “Not Like Us” spends a second week on top of the TikTok Billboard Top 50 for the chart posting Feb. 27. He extends his record of holding four songs in the top 10. But landing at No. 2 is Imogen Heap’s “Headlock.” The 2005 hit jumped 22 spots to reach a new peak. And rounding out our top 10 is Kimya Dawson’s “You Love Me.”
