Chicano Batman on Creating Their Song ‘Fly,’ Its Prince-Inspired Music Video & More | Billboard News

Chicano Batman reveals five things you didn’t know about the track “Fly” and the creative behind its music video.

Chicano Batman:
Hey, this is Chicano Batman, and these are five things you might not know about our song “Fly.”

One thing about “Fly” that you don’t know is that it was actually meant to be really slow — a lot slower than it is. In the studio, we ended up making it a lot faster. Our producer and also Eduardo were like, “Oh, we should speed it up.” And that’s what it is now, but we was just talking to them about, maybe, putting out a version that’s slower because it’s actually really dope.

No. 2: The dove in the music video is not CGI. This guy is a bird whisperer. It’s birds in his family — runs through his Salvadorian blood and he has a calling with animals.

Another thing that you might not know about “Fly” the music video: It was directed by these Argentinian sisters called the Giraffe Sisters. And they approached us with this amazing mood board that just had basically, like, Prince’s second album cover and was like, “Let’s make this album cover look into, like, a music video.” And it was just paying homage to artists like Funkadelic, Prince, Rick James. Yeah, we had a lot of fun with it, you know, very tongue in cheek and silly and it was a lot of fun to be on set for.

And then when we were in the studio actually making … after we tracked everything and it sounded, you know, banging and it was just huge coming from the speakers after we recorded it. I heard big background vocals kind of, like, very kind of just, you know, Funkadelic ’80s, you know, funk and that’s when I heard those big backup vocals. And shout out to Maya, who sang on it, and her crew, they killed it.

The bass has a reverb. Check any other Chicano Batman song. No other song has reverb on the bass but “Fly” because why not? There are no rules.

It doesn’t feel like anything’s at the end, it feels it’s the beginning of a whole long cycle. So kind of just feels like a new album right now. I think as it gets closer to the end, it’ll start to hit us. But as of right now, it just feels like a new records coming out.

She’s a work of “Art” and she’s kept us dripping in “Water,” now she’s on the cover of Billboard. South Africa’s Tyla has emerged with a unique blend of sounds dubbed “Popiano,” and our own Heran Mamo sat down with her to talk about her tidal wave of a rise.

When asked about winning the first-ever Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, she said, “I was in such shock. It’s something that a lot of people strive toward and want to win at least once in their lifetime. And I’m so blessed to have received one so early in my career.” She also spoke on how hard it was to cancel Coachella and postpone her tour due to health problems. She’s going to stay connected. She stated, “now’s the time where I can showcase a performance style where I’m not really dancing as much. Maybe I strip back a little bit more and I’m just serving vocals, but there’s no way to stop me. I’m always going to find a way.”

Alek Olsen’s ‘Someday I’ll Get It’ Tops the TikTok Billboard Top 50 | Billboard News

Alek Olsen’s “Someday I’ll Get It” jumps from No. 19 to No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 due to a new TikTok trend of users using the song to remember old pets and passed love ones. G-Eazy’s “Lady Killers Part II (Christoph Anderson Remix)” and Madison Beer’s “Make You Mine” enter into the TikTok Billboard Top 50.

New leader alert, plus two artists break into the top 10 for the first time.

Alek Olson “Someday I’ll Get It” jumps from 19 to the top of the Tiktok Billboard Top 50 for the chart posting March 28. The song has been used for remembering pets or loved ones that have been gone or reacting to how the song is being used.

The top debut of the week is G-Eazy at No. 8 with “Lady Killers II (Christoph Anderson Remix)” thanks to a trend where users turn the lights out. Madison Beer didn’t really disappear — in fact, she lands her first top 10 hit with “Make You Mine.” Users love using the song for any sort of video from glam to lip-synching, it’s an all purpose track.

Beyoncé’s Biggest Chart Achievements | Billboard Explains

Nobody does it like Beyoncé. The superstar is iconic, and her Billboard chart history proves it. In honor of her new album Cowboy Carter, we’re running down her biggest chart achievements. This is Billboard Explains: Beyoncé’s Reign on the Charts.

Fans were first introduced to Beyoncé as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child. The group racked up four Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, including “Say My Name” and “Independent Women, Pt.1.”

As a solo star, Beyoncé had her breakout year in 2003. Her first solo album, Dangerously in Love, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and its lead single, “Crazy in Love,” topped the Hot 100 for eight weeks.

In total, Beyoncé has nine solo Hot 100 hits, including “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” “Irreplaceable” and “Texas Hold ‘Em,” which debuted at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, making her the first Black female artists to ever top the chart.

Beyoncé has spent 46 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in her career, the third most of any woman in history, behind Mariah Carey with 93 and Rihanna with 60. Plus, all seven of Beyoncé’s solo studio albums have debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Will Cowboy Carter keep Beyoncé’s streak going? We’ll have to wait and see what the queen can do.

Los Tigres del Norte sat down with Billboard News backstage at their record-breaking show at The Houston Rodeo. They opened up about performing at the Rodeo, picking their tour outfits and their European tour. The band teases their new music, talks about the meaning behind their tracks and more!

When you come to this kind of show you know there’s a lot of food everywhere.

But also there’s a lot of chocolates that’s how we get hyped up.

We are Los Tigres Del Norte and you’re watching Billboard News.

This is the fifth time that we come here in Houston. We’re very excited. They encourage you to do something more. Next time that you come here we want to prepare a better show for them, that’s our responsibility.

I think it’s the number one rodeo in the United States that has a Hispanic day. Our songs have a lot of meaning for the Hispanic people, the ones who live in the United States, or they ones who come from other countries to the United States, especially the Latino countries. Singing for them, you know, like, give them some relief for where they come from, or how hard it is for them to live here, a lot of people undocumented and with our songs, you know, our song has a lot of those messages. And I think this is very, very special for us.

When we announced that we were going to be here a lot of people from other countries tell us in social media that they were willing to come and see us here. So we know that there’s a diversity here of people in Houston and people from Central America, from Mexico especially. It makes us you know, very very proud to represent that people that live here, but also the people that come see us here in the fields, the Latin blood.

A Complete Guide to Every 2024 Coachella Party & Event (Updating)

The desert heat is turning up with 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival just around the corner. Tyler, the Creator, Doja Cat and Lana Del Rey are leading the pack as this year’s headliners.

Del Rey will take the stage on Friday (April 12 and 19), with Peso Pluma, Lil Uzi Vert, Justice, Bizarrap, Deftones, ATEEZ, Everything Always, Peggy Gou, Young Miko, Sabrina Carpenter and more also set to perform. Tyler, the Creator will then headline on Saturday (April 13 and 20), with Blur, Ice Spice, Gesaffelstein, Sublime, Jungle, Dom Dolla, Bleachers, Grimes, Jon Batiste, LE SSERAFIM and more also on the bill. No Doubt is also on this year’s lineup, marking the Gwen Stefani-led group’s reunion for the first time in nine years.

Breaking news Diddy’s LA and Miami homes have been raided by Homeland Security and both his sons have been placed in handcuffs. I have the updates for you now. TMZ broke that Diddy’s homes were rated in a sex trafficking investigation. Now Homeland Security has released a statement here’s what it say, “earlier today Homeland Security Investigations New York executed law enforcement actions as a part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available.” Now recently, Diddy has been no stranger to sexual assault and misconduct allegations which he has firmly denied on all accounts.FOX 11 does have video of the rate in which both of people handcuffed seem to be his sons.
