Tommy Richman Lands in Top 3 of TikTok Billboard Top 50 Chart, Is Lay Bankz Still No. 1? | Billboard News

Will Lay Bankz be in the No. 1 spot for the third week in a row on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart? Or will she be usurped by Tommy Richman or Shaboozey? Keep watching to find out?

Lay Bankz continues to reign, while two new faces debut in the top 10. “Tell Ur Girlfriend” spends the third week at No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 for the chart posting May 9. Debuting at No. 2 is Tommy Richman with “Million Dollar Baby.” He claims the same spot on the Hot 100 as well.

Country legend Johnny Cash’s “The Chicken In Black” debuts at No. 6 thanks to a trend involving pets. Climbing into the top 10 is Laila!’s “Like That!” at No. 4, and “Pedro” by Jaxomy, Agatino Romero and Raffaella Carrà rises to No. 8.

Louis Armstrong’s ‘Hello Dolly’ Dethrones the Beatles’ ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ In 1964 | Chart Rewind

On today’s episode of Billboard‘s Chart Rewind, jazz musician Louis Armstrong dethrones The Beatles’ “Can’t Buy Me Love” and earns his first No. 1 with “Hello Dolly” on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964.

Louis Armstrong stops The Beatles in this week’s chart rewind. We head all the way back to 1964. The New Orleans-born trumpeter hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 with “Hello Dolly,” stopping 14 straight weeks of The Beatles at the top of the chart, rising up over the band’s “Can’t Buy Me Love.” Despite Beatlemania, “Hello Dolly” rose to the top in part thanks to the musical that was popular at the time. The song spent one week at the top and was his only Hot 100 No. 1.

Beyoncé Surprises With Coachella Attendance, Drake & Kendrick Lamar Beef Escalates, Rauw Alejandro’s Tattoo Removal & More | Billboard News

It’s Wednesday, May 8th, and Drake & Kendrick Lamar’s beef is getting intense. On Tuesday morning, Drake’s security guard was shot at the rapper’s Toronto residence and his London OVO store was vandalized with the phrase “they not like us,” referencing Kendrick’s diss to Drake. On top of that, it looks like both rappers’ diss tracks are making their way to the Hot 100 next week. We give you All Access to 21 Savage’s American Dream Tour. Beyoncé posted an IG Reel showing that she was actually at Coachella a couple weeks back — how could we miss that? Meghan Trainor debuted a new music video for her new single “To the Moon,” from her upcoming album ‘Timeless.’ It looks like Rauw Alejandro covered up one of his tattoos that he got with now ex Rosalía. Craig David stopped by and explained ‘How It Went Down’ for his iconic single “7 Days” and more!

Beyoncé’s stealthy surprise trip, Meghan Trainor’s out of this world video and Rauw Alejandro says bye to his ex. The Kendrick and Drake beef takes a wild turn. We take you inside 21 Savage’s show and Craig David breaks down one of his biggest hits. This Hump Day is packed with news, and it’s starting with a shocking update. The Kendrick and Drake beef is getting intense and now it’s beyond just diss tracks. Let’s break it down. After the back and forth diss tracks, a security guard working at Drake’s Toronto residence was shot early Tuesday morning. According to the Toronto Star, the security guard was transported to the hospital where he underwent surgery. No suspects have been named, but law enforcement says security footage captured a suspect’s car leaving the property. It’s not clear if Drake was at home at the time of the shooting and law enforcement have not said whether they think the shooting is linked to Drake and Kendrick’s feud. What does seem to be related to the feud is the vandalizing of Drake’s London OVO store. Someone spraypainted the front window with “they not like us,” possibly a reference to Kendrick’s song. While the rap beef has seemingly spurred some negative actions, it looks like some of their diss tracks could be heading for chart success. Four of the diss tracks have already appeared on the Hot 100 and three more — “Not Like Us,” “FAMILY MATTERS” and “meet the grahams” — which are all widely available

Craig David Shares How Iconic ‘7 Days’ Song & Music Video Was Created | How It Went Down | Billboard

In today’s episode of ‘How It Went Down,’ Craig David reveals what inspired him to create “7 Days,” the core theme of the song, how he was able to collaborate with Mark Hill to create something magical and more!

David Craig: 

Hi, I’m Craig David and this is How It Went Down with my song “7 Days.” So the inspiration behind the lyrics to “7 Days,” for me, was a young kid living in his two bedroom flat with my mum in the projects in the UK in a place called Southampton, but looking out this window and just aspiring to live this very magical, whimsical life. One of those being how would it be to have a whimsical seven days where you’re not necessarily living at home with your mum and not necessarily really in the project. And that for me was the starting point, jotting down the first word of Monday. And then it just became so simple to then let the verse kind of play out the story, but the core is just to stay simple. Just go through the days of the week and most important Sunday. Chill and relax back, even in this case. Like just, take your time.The song was produced by a guy called Mark Hill, a close friend of mine and actually was the producer of the whole album, my first album, ‘Born To Do It,’ which changed his life, my life and touched a lot of people’s lives along the way. His studio was like underground in a, right by a marina and we’d always go for like coffees and have a little drink by the marina, get some fresh air, get some inspiration.

Hey, hey! What’s going on, guys? Welcome to a fresh episode of ‘Billboard Unfiltered.’ Guys, we have a jam-packed episode as we’re gonna dive into arguably one of the greatest hip-hop battles we have seen of all time. Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar. Guys, I mean, I have not seen anything like this.

Damien Scott:
It’s definitely the busiest battle ever.

Trevor Anderson:
Yeah, just the drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop…

Carl Lamarre:
I mean, they got us working overtime.

Damien Scott:
Drake called it. He said drop, drop, drop, drop. That’s what n—as did.

Carl Lamarre:
I’m curious to get your takeaways from the battle. I mean, obviously, we have not seen anything like this. Seven disses in a week, double digits in a month.

Damien Scott:
That’s crazy.

Carl Lamarre:
What are some of your biggest takeaways from this battle? I’ll start with you, Dame.

Damien Scott:
My biggest takeaway is that these are two of our best hitmakers working today. I think people already knew Drake was a hitmaker. He’s our genre’s premiere hitmaker. I think people underestimated how good of a hitmaker Kendrick was just because Kendrick doesn’t drop that often. And when he does drop, you never know what you’re going to get with Kendrick. He can be going in a different, more personal direction, where he’s not really focused on the charts, or he can make an album like ‘DAMN.’ where it’s much more accessible. I think this shows that these two guys, I would say, are the best we got.

Backstage at iHeartCountry Festival 2024: See Photos of Jelly Roll & More

Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Jelly Roll, Old Dominion, Lady A, Riley Green, Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne and Walker Hayes took the stage on Saturday (May 4) at the 11th annual iHeartCountry Festival Presented by Capital One in Austin, Texas.

Old Dominion kicked off the show with a performance including some some of their biggest hits “Song For Another Time,” “Hotel Key” and more. The group also brought out Ashley Cooke to sing “Can’t Break Up Now,” a duet they wrote with Megan Moroney.

Jelly Roll also took the stage to sing his sang his country radio hits “Son of a Sinner,” “Need a Favor” and more. He closed out his set with a characteristically profound speech thanking his fans and iHeartRadio for changing his life before closing with his smash hit, “Save Me.”

Jason Aldean wrapped up the night with some of his most iconic tracks, kicking things off with “My Kind of Party” and continuing with “Trouble With a Heartbreak,” “Let Your Boys Be Country” and “Hicktown,” among others. He also brought out up-and-coming artist John Morgan to sing his latest single, “Friends Like That,” featuring Aldean.
