Jung Kook announces the release date of his new single, “Never Let Go,” Sabrina Carpenter reveals new album Short n’ Sweet, and Halsey drops new single “The End” and announces when her fifth album will be released.

Jung Kook is back already, with other new releases from Halsey and Sabrina Carpenter. Isn’t that sweet? I guess so. Here’s three things you should know.

Sabrina’s “Espresso” has peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and now “Short n’ Sweet,” her new album, is set for release on Aug. 23. Get it tatted if you mean it, the artist shared the cover and a back tat and added, “this project is quite special to me and i hope it’ll be something special to you too.” Oh, we are ready for more summer bops.

“Let’s try something different this time and start at ‘The End.’” That’s what Halsey stated as they revealed new cover art for their next album and announced, “I’m releasing the first song off my fifth album tomorrow, June 4th.” And we got a taste.

And you guys know I’m excited about this one. I was not expecting even more new BTS music after RM just blessed us, but Kookie is back. Jung Kook will be dropping “Never Let Go” at 1 p.m. Korean Standard Time on June 7. The track is dedicated to BTS fans, ARMY, and is delivering ahead of the K-pop group’s Festa event in Seoul. They always keep us fed. “Standing Next to You” was one of my top songs last year. Can’t wait to hear how this sounds.

The girls in rap are at it again. Cardi B & Bia’s beef is heating up, as Bia releases the diss track “Sue Meee?” after their feud online. Keep watching to find out more.

Cardi B and Bia had a feud on the Internet, and Bia has put it in music. It was believed that Cardi B subbed Bia on the “Wanna Be Remix.” Also, Bia replied to a tweet saying Cardi B has her on her mood board, and Cardi went on IG Live attempting to clear the air. After threatening to sue Bia, the rapper has dropped the diss track “Sue Meee?” She even used cover art that references when Offset accused Cardi of cheating on him. With house music becoming a worldwide phenomenon, its story of origin is often overlooked. Beyoncé helped spread awareness of its history and the genre itself with her album, ‘Renaissance.’ Keep watching to find out how it emerged and grew in popularity overtime!

We experienced the “Renaissance” and for Black Music Month we’re taking a look at the history of house music.

DJ Minx:

For the black people that created the house music, which a lot of folks don’t know, are from Chicago. We don’t see them when we walk around, we see a bunch of white men. We’re the black creators, history needs to be taught. 

Tetris Kelly:

When researching house music, it can be easily discovered that the genre was created in Chicago by black and primarily gay DJs in the late 1970s and 80s. One DJ, Frankie Knuckles, helped jumpstart the sound by blending disco funk and German electropop. By 1984 songs like “On & On” became what some consider the first real house records. The genre has grown from basements to festivals around the world and always kept its core value of finding joy and making community, something that Beyoncé captured with the release of ‘Renaissance.’

And as a black woman reclaiming the genre, she made history winning the Grammy for Best Dance Electronic Music Album.

The three day festival started off with a bang. Adam Lambert brought the glam rock with music and Kesha gave her first performance as a free woman. Saturday was stacked with sets from Noah Cyrus, Keke Palmer, Doechii, and Bonnie McKee. 

Bonnie McKee:

The queer community first of all, it’s my people, I identify as bisexual. It’s just always been a really welcoming place where everyone gets to just be themselves.

And the finale was full of surprises like Big Freedia bringing out Macy Gray. Diplo welcomed Bebe Rexha to the stage during his set. Kylie Minogue brought Orville Peck and Diplo back to preview their collaboration.
