The infectious reggaetón and afrobeat fusion, produced by Daramola, finds the Panamanian and Venezuelan artists going back-and-forth on their feelings for each other. “You have me on cloud nine/I haven’t landed yet,” chants Boza. “I also want to have you/Just give me a chance to assimilate,” Elena responds.

Named after the constellation that’s visible in the winter sky, “Orion” — which was also named one of Billboard’s Best Latin Songs of 2024 (so far) — flew 17-4 on the chart, taking the Greatest Gainer honor of the week that’s awarded weekly to the song with the most audience impressions among the chart’s 40-deep entries.

But tell me what’s the secret you’ve keptThat no one has foundAnd that has me in a dazeIt’s that if you ask me to wait for you, I’ll wait for you sitting downYou have me on cloud nineI haven’t landed yet

Oh, if you kiss me, I’ll deconfigureIf they hurt you, I’ll cure youI want you for myself, I swearYou have me feeling weak with that B-U-T-T Oh, if you kiss me, I’ll deconfigureIf they hurt you, I’ll cure youI want you for myself, I swearYou have me feeling weak with that B-U-T-T

I also want to have youJust give me a chance to assimilateThat I fell a lot in the pastAnd I don’t want to hurt you with my woundsI also want to have youJust give me a chance to assimilateThat I fell a lot in the pastAnd I don’t want to hurt you with my wounds

I want to take it slow, slow, slow, slow, slowBecause I don’t want to lie to you, noJust give me chance, I askMy heart is like MiamiAlways under constructionI put myself firstThat’s my only condition

And I don’t only want to Have sex with youI really like youThat’s why I want to confess to youOh, the life you came toYou kiss so well, you went over the topI want to stick you to the wallLike a work of art

Oh, if you kiss me, I’ll deconfigureIf they hurt you, I’ll cure youI want you for myself, I swearYou have me feeling weak with that B-U-T-T Oh, if you kiss me, I’ll deconfigureIf they hurt you, I’ll cure youI want you for myself, I swearI can be your safe space

I also want to have youJust give me a chance to assimilateThat I fell a lot in the pastAnd I don’t want to hurt you with my wounds

I’ll become a pirate and steal your heartAnd I’ll make love to you in Orion’s beltThere’s no way to fail such a womanI assure you that you are my philosophy, and I am Plato

Understand that I am unique, thereforeThe least expected surprises youAnd that wounds heal and pain does not last forever

Pepe Aguilar has never shied away from expressing what is really going through his mind. And his latest song, titled “Cuídamela Bien” — which translates to “take good care of her” — is no exception. Singing directly to Christian Nodal, who in July married his daughter Ángela Aguilar, the Mexican star is clear on his requests for him.
“Well you’re no idiot, you took from the old man the best woman,” he croons over wailing trumpets and nostalgic guitar notes. “Love her, cabrón. Show the world that you’re on the right track, and you’ve got a heart. Make her as happy as I’ve always wanted to in life.”

Trending on Billboard

Aguilar’s song is a play on words that makes the most sense in Spanish. In one verse, he sings, “Y NO DA La cara el bandido,” or, “And that bandit won’t show his face” — which could also refer to Nodal’s face tattoos. In another part of the song, he uses song titles, including Ángela’s “Ahí Donde Me Ven” and Nodal’s “Botella Tras Botella,” to wittingly express how he’s feeling.

Toward the end of the song, in a total state of emotional vulnerability, Aguilar reaffirms he’s given the couple his blessing, something he first announced publicly just a day after the wedding ceremony, which took place just weeks after the couple confirmed their relationship.

“In any lasting relationship, love is essential and respect and responsibility totally indispensable,” he wrote then. “With love, you face the most complicated challenges inside and outside your environment. … I have also been in your shoes. And after 27 years with my wife I say to you: There is no simple principle.”

Below, the lyrics to Pepe Aguilar’s “Cuídamela Bien” translated to English:

It’s not news that she’s with youWell the world knows it and everyone is a witnessSo fast time passed and my ANGEL someone else snatched her awayAnd the bandit won’t show his face

I’m going to be very clear, do things rightBecause for outlaws, mijo (son), this is not the place to beAnd I know it’s easy to be cabrónI’ve been in that situation myselfBut the one who stays is more of a man

And I’m sorry if I’m being a little rudeIt’s just that I got dumbfounded by a lucky chamaco (boy)

Take good care of herYou’ve already made her fall in loveYou already took her awayWhat am I gonna do?

She was never mineAnd I knewThat I was going to lose her

And lucky for youNow she’s with youI wish you well

Take good care of herMaybe she’s not perfectBut I assure youShe knows how to love

Roses were enough for youSo that my prideful daughterWould fall at your feet

And face-to-faceI give you a piece of adviceIf you love her well

Don’t change her because you’re very good at it

When you brought her roses, I played the strong oneAnd in the serenades I couldn’t kick you outThe eagle has already taken offAnd the one who doesn’t show his face now has shown itI admit that you’re easy to love

And I’m sorry if I’m a little rudeIt’s just that I got dumbfounded by a lucky chamaco (boy)

Take good care of her“Ahí Donde Me Ven” (There where they see me)“Botella Tras Botella” (Bottle after bottle)“No Me 100to Bien” (I don’t feel good)

Well you’re no idiotYou took from the old manThe best woman

And lucky for youNow she’s with youI wish you well

Love her, cabrónShow the worldThat you’re on the right trackAnd you’ve got a heart

Make her as happy asI’ve always wanted to in life

And in the eye of the cycloneFor my part I give you my blessingAnd I will always wish your relationship well

The infectious reggaetón track — about going after an attractive girl — has been gaining traction on social media, where on TikTok alone, it has garnered more than three million video creations.

“I was performing some shows in another region of the country when I wrote this song,” FloyyMenor, who’s an 18-year-old rising act from La Serena, Chile, previously told Billboard. “I knew it was going to be a hit, and it feels amazing that people are supporting it.”

“Gata Only” marks the first time a Chilean artist enters the chart’s top 10 in 25 years, after La Ley and Ednita Nazario’s “Tu Sabes Bien” peaked at No. 8 in 1999. Prior, it was Myriam Hernández’s “Huele a Peligro,” which peaked at No. 5 in 1998.

The romantic corrido, about a man who’s willing to do anything for the woman he loves, also reached No. 2 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and at No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. This week, the 19-year-old Mexican-American artist born Joshua Xavier Gutiérrez hit No. 1 on the Emerging Artists chart dated Jan. 13.

As he continues to captivate fans with his authentic and romantic approach, Billboard translates the lyrics of “La Diabla” into English below:

Karol G and Peso Pluma get sexy and flirtatious in their first collaborative effort, “QLONA” (wordplay that loosely translates to “girl with a big butt”).  The Ovy on the Drums-produced track is a sultry, slow-tempo reggaeton that finds both the Colombian singer and Mexican artist crooning about desiring each other and wanting to be together.  […]

Rauw Alejandro pours his heart out in his new song “Hayami Hana,” a love letter to Rosalía in which he opens up about how difficult their breakup has been for him and says that he never thought they would separate.
“We’ve argued, I find it hard to express myself/ All my shortcomings you already know/ I have to put up with your things too/ But the option of removing myself never crossed my mind,” sings the Puerto Rican star.

The track released on Thursday (August 10) — whose title in Japanese could be translated as “flower of rare beauty” — comes less than a month after the couple announced that they have ended their relationship after nearly four years together. Its moving lyrics evidence Rauw’s deep love and respect for his ex-fiancée, both as a person and as an artist.

“What will come next? I don’t know/ But I know that for you it will be all the Grammys, hey/ They will study your art over time/ When they plan, I know that they always take you as an example,” sings Rauw. And in one of the most heartbreaking moments he laments, “I’ll finish our little house in case you feel like coming back/ Today I stop writing you, not loving you.”

Rauw and Rosalía met in person in 2019 — after months of messaging each other on social media — at a Las Vegas hotel lounge during the Latin Grammys. It was love at first sight, the couple told Billboard for their cover story interview. Shortly after, on March 24, 2023, they revealed that they were engaged in the music video for “Beso,” one of the three songs included on their joint EP RR, released that same day.

Since the inception of their relationship, Rosalía and Rauw were each other’s biggest supporters on and off the stage. Rosalía sang backing vocals on “Dile a Él” from Rauw’s first album, Afrodisiaco (2020), as well as on “Corazón Despeinado” from Saturno (2022), while Rauw co-wrote some lyrics for Rosalía’s “Chicken Teriyaki” from her Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning 2022 album, Motomami.

“I’m lucky to be your partner, and I want to be there for you, sabes? And I feel you’re there for me, independent of the careers,” said Rosalía, who had Rauw as a guest on her Coachella set in April where they performed “Beso” and “Vampiros” off RR. “For me, our relationship is first, and then there’s everything else. Of course my career is super important in my life, but at the same time, in my life, you’re my companion, and everything else comes second.”

In case we never talk againAnd my favorite eyes don’t look at me againI do this for when you want to rememberOf the crazy person who really loved you.And I’m not going to make myself strongI am not going to fake itEveryone here knows that I’m gonna cry, I’m gonna miss youYes, there is nothing to hide hereBut there are a couple things that I want to get off my chest.

Everybody knows, everybody knowsEverybody knows, everybody knowsEverybody knows, they know s–tEverybody knows, everybody knowsEverybody knows, everybody knowsThey say they know, they know s–t

We’ve arguedI find it hard to express myselfAll my shortcomings you already knowI also have to put up with your thingsBut the option of removing myself never crossed my mind. And what a pity, couples no longer lastThey last a little, there are few old people leftTo tell us their little tricksHow can I seeAll my life with you, the dawn? And mami I don’t have the answer for thisBut I loved both your qualities and defects equallyEverything gets harder with timeBut not all people are prepared for thisAnd I don’t blame you, the life we lead is not for everyoneThe press, social media, peer pressuresBeing away is more difficult, easier togetherWe work non-stop but to what extentBeing in our little camp is worth more than all the money and fameTo wake up and see you by my sideI don’t feel like getting out of bed

Hey, all my songs are for you since AfrodisíacoEveryone knows that, that’s irrelevantIt’s that I can’t stop missing her sleeping in my armsI don’t know how to stop thinking about that last hugAnd if I had known that it was going to be the last one, I wouldn’t have let her goMaybe now she would be by my sideWatching movies in tuck in bedBut this summer I had to be like the sun, alone

I may be many things, but never unfaithfulShe always had the key to my cellThis was something else that is not in my powerMy crystal girl, my paper boatYou disarmed and I tried to fix youAnd although you went far away from me, I stayedNow I’m not here but I want you to know thatYou are stronger than you thinkAnd I hope someday we can laugh at the pastThere are no grudges here, this is not a complaintIf you have given me the best daysThat’s why I have your name tattooed on my belly, maI gave you everything and I would do it againI will finish our little house in case you feel like coming backToday I stop writing you, not loving youHow to forget your kisses after that nap?

Everybody knows, everybody knowsEverybody knows, everybody knowsEverybody knows, they know s–tEverybody knows, everybody knowsEverybody knows, everybody knowsThey say they know, they know s–t

To finishI know you’re going to be the best artistIt’s just that another like you I really don’t think existsYou are the most beautiful cover of all magazinesI would know even if I couldn’t seeIf just by hearing your voiceThe sea calms down from any tormentThousands of people agreeI don’t say it because of this feelingAnd from Los Angeles I knew itShe is my MOTOMAMIWhat will come next? I don’t knowBut I know that for you it will be all the Grammys, heyThey will study your art over timeWhen they plan I know that they always take you as an exampleAnd even if they copy you, they will fail in the attemptBecause only God chooses a few with that talentYou are genuine, you are amazing, you are, you are pure joy, huhYou are medicineYou heal my heartAll those nights at home dancing to our songAnd if life brings me together with you on another occasionI won’t argue with fate’s reason

Once again I’m staying here without youD–n, baby, I’m gonna miss youI didn’t see this coming to an end, yeahOnce again I’m staying here without youThis time I’m not going to stop youI say goodbye to you, have a great time, yeahOh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh, how it hurtsI say goodbye to you, have a great timeOh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh, how it hurtsI say goodbye to you, have a great timeOh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh, how it hurtsI say goodbye to you, have a great timeOh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh, how it hurtsOh-ah-ah-ahHayami Hana!Hayami Hana!Hayami Hana!Hayami Hana!Yeah, yeah

For his 55th “Bzrp Music Session,” out May 31, Bizarrap reeled in viral newcomer Peso Pluma. Shakira gifted moms a new anthem for Mother’s Day. “Acróstico,” released May 12, is a powerful open letter to her children, Milan and Sasha.
The song is a poetic composition constructed so that the initial letter of each line of lyrics, taken consecutively, spells out the names of her two sons. Co-written by Shakira, Keityn, Lexuz and other contributions at La Creme, “Acróstico” is about a mother who can turn her pain into strength through the love of her kids.

On Monday (May 15), the Colombian star — who was crowned Woman of the Year the first-ever Billboard Latin Women in Music on May 6 — released the ballad’s official music video, which features Milan and Sasha singing and playing the piano alongside their mother.

Read the full “Acróstico” lyrics translated into English below:

You taught me that love is not a scam, and that when it’s real it doesn’t endI tried to stop you from seeing me cry, that you didn’t see my fragilityBut things are not always as we dreamSometimes we run, but we never reach our destination Never doubt that I will be hereTalk to me and I’ll listen to you

And even though life treated me like thisI will be strong just for you

All I want is your happinessAnd to be with youYour smile is my weaknessLoving you serves as anesthesia for the painIt makes me feel betterI’m here for whatever you needYou came to complete what I am

Only one plate broke, not the entire setAlthough I don’t know how to turn the other cheekLearning to forgive is wise, only love should come out of those lipsIf things are damaged, don’t throw them away, repair themFace your problems head onYou have to laugh at lifeEven though the wounds hurt

You have to give people your whole heartEven if they hurt it for no reason

All I want is your happinessAnd to be with youYour smile is my weaknessLoving you serves as anesthesia for the painIt makes me feel betterI’m here for whatever you needYou came to complete what I am

It serves as anesthesia for the painIt makes me feel betterI’m here for whatever you needYou came to complete what I am

Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma are on a hot streak with their collaborative effort “Ella Baila Sola.”

The track hit No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart (on the April 15-dated list) after debuting atop Latin Streaming Songs. Additionally, it earned both acts career-highs on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first regional Mexican song to reach the top 10 of the all-genre chart.

Penned by Eslabon’s vocalist Pedro Tovar, “Ella Baila Sola” (she dances alone) tells the story of two friends who are talking about a pretty girl at a party.

“We didn’t expect for the song to make so much noise!” Tovar previously told Billboard. “I really liked the song when I first wrote it, but I didn’t really expect it to be such a big hit. I previewed it on my stories on Instagram and two days after it went viral on TikTok and that’s when I knew that the song was going to do big numbers.”

Buddy, what do you think of that girl? The one who’s dancing alone, I like her for meShe, she knows she’s good lookingAnd everyone is looking at her danceI get close and tell her a verb We take drinks without buts, only temptationI told her “I’m going to conquer your family, and one day you’ll be mine”She said That I’m too crazy but she likes itThat no guy acts like me

I’m not a guy who has moneyBut speaking of the heart, I’ll give you everythingShe grabbed me by the handMy buddy didn’t even believe it, it was me when I passed by

Her bodyI swear to God it was so perfectHer waist as a modelHer eyesI fell in love from the beginningShe likes it and I like it

The music industry is mourning the sudden death of actor and singer Julián Figueroa, son of the late Mexican star Joan Sebastian and Costa Rican actress Maribel Guardia. Figueroa died Sunday in Mexico City at the age of 28 — just one day after what would have been Sebastian’s 72nd birthday.

In an Instagram post, Guardia said Figueroa was found unconscious in his room while she was at the theater. “They called 911 and when the ambulance and police arrived, they found him already lifeless, with no traces of violence. The medical report indicates that he died of acute myocardial infarction and ventricular fibrillation,” she said.

Figueroa, who was known for songs such as “Pídeme,” “Volaré” “and Cómo Olvidar,” had a close relationship with his father, which could be reflected in one of his last Instagram posts.

“How slowly 8 years have gone by since the day you left time tastes more bitter. And people proclaim that time is a fix for everything, but this is a vile lie, it hurts more every day, and this is without fear of hurting sensibilities,” the artist wrote, next to a photo of himself as a child with his father.

Sebastian, who died in 2016 after a long battle with bone cancer, had eight children with five different women. His love for his children often shined in his music like in “Julián,” the song he wrote for Figueroa 23 years ago.

The lullaby-like, waltz-inspired track — part of his Secreto de Amor album that spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart in 2000 — finds Sebastian dedicating sweet words of love, appreciation and promises to his then-5-year-old son.

Below, listen to the sweet track, followed by the lyrics translated into English:

When you were a child JulianYou asked me to write a song that saidWhat I feel for you

That’s not easy, JulianAlthough I wrote a thousand songsThe most beautiful thing about love, JulianIs carried in the hearts

And this waltz is for you, for you, JulianDance it, enjoy it from beginning to endAt your graduation and your wedding dayAnd this waltz is for you, for you, JulianI will be celebrating tooFrom a corner, I will be watching you dance

When you were a child JulianGod was very good to meHe gave me the honor of being, JulianOf being your father and your friend

And this waltz is for you, for you, JulianDance it, enjoy it from beginning to endAt your graduation and your wedding dayAnd this waltz is for you, for you, JulianI will be celebrating tooI promise I will be watching you dance
