las vegas residency

Adele got an emotional surprise from a fellow icon at her Las Vegas residency.
The British superstar, 36, was brought to tears after spotting Celine Dion, 56, in the crowd during her long-running show at Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Saturday (Oct. 26).

In a fan-captured video posted to X (formerly Twitter), Adele is seen performing “When We Were Young” as she encounters Dion, who was seated in a side box at the 4,100-seat venue. The moment turns emotional as Adele starts to cry while embracing Dion. The two superstars share a few words before the legendary Canadian singer holds Adele’s face and kisses her hand. Adele then waves to nearby fans before returning to the stage.

Dion — who opened the Colosseum with her first residency in 2003 — appeared to be seated beside her sons, Nelson and Eddy Angélil, who offered comfort to their mother following the touching encounter.

This isn’t the first time Adele and Dion have crossed paths in Sin City. In 2018, Adele attended Celine’s second residency at the same venue. In an Instagram post at the time, the “My Heart Will Go On” artist expressed her appreciation after meeting Adele backstage at the performance.

“Wasn’t able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them… I love her so much!!” Dion wrote in a since-deleted post.

Adele also shared her excitement after meeting Dion. “Queen Celine! What a show, an absolute highlight of my life, thank you so much for the attention to your crowd and insane humor. Happy New Year lady x,” the “Hello” hitmaker wrote on Instagram.

Her Weekends With Adele runs through late November. Earlier this year, Adele stated that she will take a lengthy break from music after the residency concludes in the fall.

“I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now,” she told a Munich crowd in September. “I want to live my life that I’ve been building and I will miss you terribly.”

Mötley Crüe are headed back to Las Vegas. The long-running metal band announced their latest Sin City stay-put on Thursday (Oct. 3), The Las Vegas Residency, which will find them playing an exclusive limited run of 11 shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM from March 28-April 19, 2025.
“Mötley Crüe and Las Vegas have always been the perfect combination of extravagance and decadence. We’ve always loved the idea of the Vegas residency, because we’ve always loved the idea of staying in one location to build a unique show for the fans,” the band said in a statement. “We’re excited to get into rehearsals and work up a lot of songs that have been requested by the fans for years.”

The Crüe’s third Vegas residency is being billed as a “tell-all show [that] will immerse the audience in the band’s history, leading all the say through their record-breaking Stadium Tour.” They previously set up shop in Vegas in 2012 for Mötley Crüe Takes On Sin City and 2013 for Evening in Hell.

Adele revealed earlier this summer that she plans to step away from music for a while after her Vegas residency.

“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” she told Germany’s ZDF. In fact, the star, who said she “doesn’t like being famous,” added, “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”

The singer, who has not gone on a world tour since her 2016-2017 run in support of her 25 album, has made a habit of taking time for herself between albums and tours. Those stretches out of the public eye have increased over time, from three years between her 2008 debut, 19, and 2011’s 21, to four years until her 2015 LP 25 and six between that album and 2021’s 30.

During one of her Weekends shows in January, Adele told the audience, “I just don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time,” teasing that when she does she may be ready to hit the road properly again.

Even as Sir Rod Stewart was forced to cancel what was supposed to be the 200th, and final, show in his 13-year Las Vegas residency, the indefatigable pop legend announced on Wednesday (August 7) that he will be back at it next year. “Vegas, I’m having too much fun for this to end so we […]

Babyface is headed to Las Vegas, and he’s spreading the word in the best way possible.
The legendary R&B star announced Wednesday (April 10) — via a parody video of Nicole Kidman’s iconic AMC Theaters commercial — that he’s plotting a residency in Sin City with shows sprinkled throughout 2024.

In the clip, the “When Can I See You” singer re-creates almost every frame of the actress’ ad to a T, sporting a pinstripe pantsuit similar to the one she wears in the video played before every movie showing at all AMC locations in the U.S. “We come to this place for magic,” he recites, putting his own spin on Kidman’s oft-quoted monologue. “We go to the concerts to love, to cry, to care.”

According to Variety, Babyface will perform his own hits in addition to songs he’s helped write for other stars during the residency, taking the stage at Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort on May 25 and 26, Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Nov. 8 and 9. “I’ll see you in Vegas,” he adds in his spoof. Let’s time travel together.

Sharing the video to his Instagram, the 65-year-old musician wrote, “I have recently been saying that listening to music or going to an old school concert is like time traveling.” “You know, it’s like hearing a certain song that takes you right back to the house where you grew up and your mom was Spring cleaning singing every word,” he continued. “It’s like smelling a certain dish and you’re sitting right back in your mom’s kitchen.”

“With that being said, I would like to invite you all to Vegas to walk down memory lane with me and time travel together,” Babyface added.

The announcement comes over a year after the Indiana native dropped his latest album, Girls Night Out, featuring collaborations with Muni Long, Kehlani, Ari Lennox and more. The set peaked at No. 22 on the Top R&B Albums chart.
