According to Sneakernews, Kyrie’s new ANTA KAI 1 “Artist On Court” silhouettes are set to release this coming March 6th and given the way he’s been playing as of late, we totally expect these to be hit with Mavericks fans in Dallas and Kyrie loyalists across the board. Though we’re not sure if his fellow NBA superstar peers will be trading in their Jordan’s, Kobe’s or Adidas’ to wear a pair of these on the court, don’t be surprised if you see the a few rookies or G-Leaguers rocking the KAI 1’s as they may want to land a deal of their own in the near future.
Sneakernews reports:
The newest Kyrie Irving shoes were recently debuted on court when his Dallas Mavericks visited the Brooklyn Nets earlier in February. Now, the brand has officially announced a release date for the debut “Artist On Court” colorway, which features an elegant purple colorway with vibrant hits of punchy pink, regal gold, and cream on the sole.
With a considerable fanbase, the Nike Kyrie line is among the most successful in Nike Basketball history, although it did end in somewhat of a sour note. Kyrie openly criticized his last shoe — the Nike Kyrie 8 — on Instagram, and despite images of the Kyrie 9 being revealed through Nike official images, they were ultimately scrapped. With his Nike days behind him, Kyrie now looks forward as the premier athlete for ANTA basketball, itself boasting an impressive roster of NBA athletes that include Klay Thompson, Donte DiVincenzo, Gordon Hayward, and more.
The ANTA KAI 1’s are set to release on March 6th for the very reasonable price of $125 on their official website. Let us know if you’ll be checking for these come next week in the comments section below.

NBA star Kyrie Irving made his return to Brooklyn and took a shot at New York City Mayor Eric Adams in the process.
On Tuesday night (Feb. 6), the Dallas Mavericks went up against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center with Kyrie Irving playing there for the first time since his acrimonious split with the team last season. During a 36-point performance, Irving was near the sideline when a fan known as Courtside Nets on X, formerly Twitter, asked the guard why he didn’t exhibit that while with the Nets. “Thank Mayor Adams for that, bro,” Irving replied.
The jab (no pun intended) was related to the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate enacted by Mayor Adams. Irving opted not to get vaccinated, and so the policy kept him from playing in the Nets’ home games during the majority of the 2021-2022 season. The team also sat him for most of its road games during the first two months of that season. The guard would appear in the Nets’ 75th game of the season after Mayor Adams created an exemption from the mandate for athletes. In total, Irving only played 29 games, costing him millions.
The Mavericks would go on to win the game 119-107, with Irving getting some boos from the crowd. Afterward, he reflected on his time with the team, which ended last February when they granted his request to be traded to Dallas. In his three and a half years with the team, the assembled “super team” of Irving, Kevin Durant and James Harden only once won a playoff series playing together.
“Obviously, I fell short in terms of the championship aspirations but, for me, I think it was bigger than a championship here,” Irving said, according to the Daily News. “I had to really take some moral stances that propelled me into a place in my life that I had to become accustomed to. There were some political things that were going on here as well that I couldn’t control, that I was responsible for. There were some things that I did on my own accord that I look back on, and they were mistakes, and I have to be accountable for those things. I’m not perfect, but one thing I can say is I’ve been able to learn from things.”

In an interview, NBA superstar LeBron James expressed his disappointment over the Los Angeles Lakers not being able to trade for Kyrie Irving.
For LeBron James, the chance to team up once again with his former teammate Kyrie Irving on the Los Angeles Lakers has been a desire since the offseason. It seemed more possible as the team made an offer when Irving requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets last Friday (Feb. 3rd), but the Nets ultimately traded him to the Dallas Mavericks with the deal becoming official on Monday (Feb. 6th). James would soon write on Twitter cryptically, “Maybe it’s me” as word of the deal went public.
Sitting down for an interview with reporter Michael Wilbon for the NBA on ESPN, James was candid. “I can’t sit here and say I’m not disappointed on not being able to land such a talent,” James said. “Someone I had great chemistry with, I know I got great chemistry with on the floor, that can help you win championships in my mind, in my eyes. But my focus has shifted now, my focus has shifted back to where it should be and that’s this club now, and what we have now.”
Wilbon responded with surprise, “That’s a quick pivot LeBron.” The four-time league MVP agreed, saying “I don’t get too excited about the possibilities of things that can be. I kind of envision myself on what it can, but I don’t invest it all the way into it until I know it’s happening and when it does not happen, I’m back locked in on the job at hand. James and Irving were teammates on the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2014 to 2017, reaching the Finals in all three years and winning the franchise’s only title over the Golden State Warriors in 2016.
James is on the verge of breaking the all-time scoring record, held by former Lakers great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The current Lakers team, however, has been the source of constant discussion as they sit at 13th in the Western Conference despite another tremendous All-Star season from the 38-year-old forward. James has reportedly been pushing the team’s front office to make moves to improve the roster to make the playoffs as center Anthony Davis has struggled with injuries and Russell Westbrook has been shifted to a role off the bench.

Kyrie Irving got his wish. On Sunday (February 5), multiple sources reported that the Brooklyn Nets agreed to trade the problematic (at least when off the court) point guard to the Dallas Mavericks.
According to ESPN,
The Mavericks are sending Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, an unprotected 2029 first-round pick and second-round picks in 2027 and 2029 to the Nets in exchange for Irving and Markieff Morris, sources said.
The Nets plan to offer the picks acquired in the trade — as well as their 2023 first-round pick via the Philadelphia 76ers — in trade talks to try to improve the roster ahead of the Thursday trade deadline, sources said.
The Lakers and Nets discussed possible Irving deals on Friday and Saturday, but ultimately the Mavericks’ package gave the Nets a better chance to surround Kevin Durant with players now — as well as the opportunity to acquire three draft picks, sources said. The Nets had been looking at three-way deals involving the Lakers before discussions with the Mavericks came together fairly quickly Sunday afternoon, sources said.
It was only. a couple of days ago that Irving reportedly told the Nets that he wanted out after negotiations for an extension of his current contract stalled out.
When news broke of the trade NBA Twitter almost immediately start slandering all parties involved. The Lakers particularly felt there wrath after failing to acquire Irving and reuinte with his old running mate. LeBron James. How Kyrie will adjust to hooping with Luka, officially a superstar, is also being debated.
