BTS‘ Jimin takes center stage on the preview of “Angel Pt. 1,” the new single from the upcoming Fast & Furious sequel Fast X that also features Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, JVKE and Muni Long. The minute-long snippet opens with a wistful piano intro as Jimin and JVKE take turns crooning the track’s hypnotic chorus, “Angel, don’t fly so close to me/ I’ll pull you down eventually/ You don’t wanna lose those wings/ People like me break beautiful things.”
“Angel, don’t fly so close to me/ I’m what you want and what you need,” it continues. “You don’t wanna lose those those wings/ People like me break beautiful things.” The trailer version of the song then spotlights Black chiming in with his signature nasally delivery.

“I give it all up to ease your pain, yeah, I would do that all day/ I step back from the game and keep you out of harm’s way/ Would risk it all for the game, but it take more than one person/ Two people, one ’til I feel the same way you hurtin’/ I was still in middle school when Givens had flipped the whip/Bodies was droppin’ before we ever knew ’bout the drip,” he raps, before hitting the obligatory Fast familial reference with the line “We gon’ be family no matter what way this go, bruh.”

Fast X is due out on May 19 and features the usual gang of street racing thrill seekers tearing around the planet, including Vin Deisel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Momoa, Jordana Brewster and Nathalie Emmanuel, as well as John Cena, Jason Statham, Sung Kang, Daneila Melchior, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Brie Larson and Rita Moreno.

The first single from the soundtrack was “Let’s Ride,” which dropped in February and featured YG, Ty Dolla $ign and Lambo4oe, followed by “Won’t Back Down,” which dropped last week and features YoungBoy NBA, Bailey Zimmerman and Dermot Kennedy.

Jung Kook is getting a little fed up with unsolicited attempts to feed him. In a Thursday (May 4) post on Weverse, the BTS star pleaded with fans to stop sending food to his house, noting he’ll take action if the deliveries don’t let up anytime soon.

“Don’t send home delivery food,” the 25-year-old K-pop star wrote in a message translated from Korean to English by the app. “I won’t eat it even if you give it to me. I’m thankful, but I eat well. You can buy it yourself.”

“I beg you,” Jung Kook continued. “If you send it one more time, I will check the receipt order number you sent and take action. So stop it.”

Following the “Left and Right” singer’s post, ARMY took to Twitter to back Jung Kook’s request — so much so, the phrase “respect his privacy” trended on the platform. “This is actually getting out of hand,” tweeted one fan. “sending him food delivery literally on his address u all have lost humanity he is literally begging at this point.”

“I wish jungkook would have really took some action already,” wrote another. “No need to be so kind to anyone who can’t even respect his privacy. He must feel so uneasy and maybe even scared. Some of you really need to stop overstepping your facking boundaries boundaries.”

According to fans, this isn’t the first time Jung Kook has had his personal boundaries invaded. Many are recirculating a video from a past Weverse livestream in which the musician — according to translated subtitles — asks ARMY not to show up and/or harass him while he works out.

“I’m a human too,” he reminds viewers, according to the subtitles.

the fact that this video has to be tweeted every two business months as reminder for everyone to know their place as a fan and to respect his privacy, is so disappointing pic.twitter.com/tl7WPKsmN3— jungkook loops (@jeonjkloops) May 4, 2023

jungkook is always so nice and polite and he always tried his best to not be rude about what he asks, but this is not a reason to pretend he doesn’t care. you’re not a fan if you can’t respect his privacy, and he shouldn’t have to ask for that. please respect him.— ◡̈ (@agustdfms) May 4, 2023

i pray for jungkook to always be safe cause some people showed up at his workout place, now some feel like they have the right to know his address, violate his privacy and order food delivery for him. he’s a human being before he is your idol, please have some respect and empathy— jungkook admirer (@dreamjeons) May 4, 2023

jungkook is one of the most loveliest people ever, please stop taking advantage of his kindness. please know your boundaries as a fan & learn to respect his privacy. i am always praying for jungkook’s safety & well-being. ):— ✿ (@jjkgaIlery) May 4, 2023

The live acoustic album, which was issued on vinyl (its first physical release of any kind) for Record Store Day (April 22) at participating independent record stores, debuts at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 75,000 equivalent album units earned, all from vinyl sales, in the April 21-27 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions is the companion album to the Disney+ documentary film of the same name, released in 2020.

Swift charts 10 total albums on the Billboard 200, including three in the top 10. The last act to land at least three albums in the top 10 at the same time was Prince in 2016, following his death. Here’s a look at all of Swift’s albums on the latest list:

Rank, TitleNo. 3, Folklore: The Long Pond Studio SessionsNo. 4, MidnightsNo. 10, LoverNo. 12, FolkloreNo. 21, 1989No. 22, reputationNo. 27, Red (Taylor’s Version)No. 29, EvermoreNo. 41, Fearless (Taylor’s Version)No. 66, Speak Now

Since the Billboard 200 combined separate stereo and mono rankings in August 1963, Prince is the only other artist to chart at least 10 albums in the top 100 in a single week, as he posthumously totaled 15 in the region on the May 14, 2016, survey.

Among other Artist 100 chart moves, Agust D, aka Suga of BTS, re-enters at No. 3, a new high (following a week at No. 4 in 2020), as his new solo LP D-Day arrives at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 (140,000 units). It becomes his first solo top 10 album; BTS has notched seven.

Five BTS members have hit the Artist 100’s top 10: Jimin (No. 1, one week), Agust D (No. 3), RM (No. 6), j-hope (No. 9) and JIN (No. 10). BTS has ruled for 21 weeks, the most among groups since the chart began in 2014.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

The group previously posted teasers and shared a trailer for FML titled “F*ck My Life: Life in a Minute” on April 13. All 13 members were featured in the clip, which had a narrator asking, “How do you define the world that surrounds you? In the middle of this f—ing world. You’re not allowed to feel happy. But you deserve to be happy. So fight. Fight for your life.”

SEVENTEEN recently stopped by to play a game with Billboard News, revealing the most unexpected places they’ve run into one of their fans, known as CARATs. Joshua recounted meeting a fan in Disneyland, which he was enjoying with his parents, and at an Apple Store; Hoshi said, “I met a CARAT on the Ferris wheel in Seattle,” and Mingyu stated that he “actually run[s] into them quite often.”

The 10-track album released via Big Hit Music is Suga’s first solo full-length, which was led by the single “People Pt.2” featuring IU.

Upon dropping the lead single earlier this month, Sugar told Billboard he was “actually a little bit worried” about the return to his solo moniker. “‘People Pt.2’ was made thinking about how people will receive Agust D’s music, which is why we also featured [his former collaborator] IU. It’s kind of a trial to release this music under the name Agust D,” he said.

Trailing behind D-Day on the poll is Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s “un x100to,” with 21% of the vote, and The Weeknd and Future’s “Double Fantasy,” with 17%.

BLACKPINK wasted no time bringing the pop straight to your dome on Tuesday night’s (April 18) “Carpool Karaoke” ride on The Late Late Show. In what might be the series’ last commuter sing-along before host James Corden signs off next week, Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé dove straight into “Pink Venom,” bouncing in their seats after getting assurances that Corden is a decent driver, and, as it turns out, a superfan who impressed Lisa by grabbing a bit of the song’s rap break.
They also described the rigorous band training camp they survived as teens before blowing up, including lessons in popping and Krumping, with Jisoo displaying the “big hands” and “angry face” gestures needed to pull off the latter dance move. In a testament to their sweet natures, though, all four broke into smiles and laughs as they tried to prove their tough Krump face bona fides.

When Corden showed off his Krump moves, ending his arm flourish with a pair of middle fingers, a giggly Rosé said that was “too much!” They quickly slipped into another fan favorite, “DDU DU DDU DU,” with Rosé crooning into an imaginary microphone as they bounced down the road. As trainees, the quartet said the adored TLC for their singing/rapping style, which, naturally, led to a smooth-as-silk cover of the beloved hip-hop-soul trio’s 1999 hit “No Scrubs.”

Corden ticked off a long list of world records the group has lodged, including most-streamed girl group on Spotify, most-subscribed YouTube artist channel globally and first K-pop group to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. So, of course, James challenged them to set some new Guinness world records, including the fastest time to assemble a Mr. Potato Head, the most hand claps in a minute and the most Jenga blocks removed in a minute.

Spoiler: they failed every one.

The failure didn’t last long as they busted into “How You Like That,” featuring Lisa’s swaggering rap and some backseat choreo from Jenny and Jisoo. The ride ended with the quartet fangirling over another generation’s No. 1 girl group: The Spice Girls, with Lisa saying she was obsessed with the British “Wannabe” singers as a kid and Jenny adding that she loved how they each had their own unique characters.

Corden couldn’t resist asking the women to come up with their own Spicy nicknames, with Rosé quickly dubbed “Aussie Pink,” Lisa named “Boss Pink,” Jenny taking “Shy Pink” and Jisoo rounding out with “Nail Pink.” They ended with a fun run through “Wannabe,” with Rosé throwing up hand hearts and all four going hard on the chorus.

On Saturday (April 15), BLACKPINK became the first Korean act to headline Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, after making history as the first K-pop girl group to perform at the legendary fest in 2019. . “So… let me start off with, four years ago we were invited to perform here for you at Coachella at the Sahara tent and that made a mark in all of our hearts,” Rosé told the crowd last weekend. ”I must say, this is a dream come true … the reason all four of us are here is because of you.”

Corden’s final Late Late Show will air on April 27.

South Korean singer-songwriter IU (real name: Lee Ji-eun) re-enters Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart (dated April 22) at No. 1, becoming the top emerging act in the U.S. for the first time, thanks to her new hit with Agust D (BTS member Suga‘s musical alter ego), “People Pt.2.”

The song, released April 7, sold 18,000 downloads in the U.S. in its opening week, according to Luminate. It launches at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales, Rap Digital Song Sales and World Digital Song Sales charts. It also starts at No. 16 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 24 on the Billboard Global 200.su

IU has appeared on Billboard’s charts for over a decade. She first appeared on a listing in December 2011, when her single “You & I” debuted and peaked at No. 3 on World Digital Song Sales. “People Pt.2.” is her 11th top 10 on the chart and second No. 1, after “Eight,” featuring Suga, in May 2020.

“People Pt.2” also earns IU her 21st career entry on World Digital Song Sales, extending her record for the most among female soloists. Among all solo acts, she ties Burna Boy and another BTS member, RM, for the fifth-most, after Wizkid (28), Jay Park (25), Davido and TAEYEON (24 each). BTS leads all acts with a record 146.

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard’s “Hot” song genre charts and/or consumption-based “Top” album genre rankings.

BTS‘ Suga finally dropped the full track list for his anticipated full-length solo debut under his alter ego Agust D on Monday (April 10). The 10-song album due out on April 21 opens with the collection’s title track, “D-Day” (produced by Vincent “Invincible” Watson and 2Live) and also features “Haegeum (produced by Agust D), “HUH?!” (produced by Agust D and El Capitxn, co-written by J-Hope), and “Amygdala” (produced by El Capitxn). The album’s second half includes a collaboration with recently deceased Oscar-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

The second half of the collection features “SDL” (produced by the singer and El Capitxn), pre-release single “People Pt. 2 (feat. IU) (produced by El Capitxn), “Polar Night” (produced by the singer and El Capitxn), “Interlude: Dawn” (produced by the singer and El Capitxn), “Snooze (feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto and Kim Woosung of The Rose) (produced by El Capitxn) and “Life Goes On” (produced by El Capitxn); the final track is one of two featuring a co-writing credit for J-Hope).

Speaking to Billboard about the album last week, Suga said he doesn’t have a “different mindset” when releasing music solo as Agust D or as Suga in BTS, explaining that, “Ultimately, the goal of releasing this music is for as many people to listen to my music as possible. So, ‘People Pt.2’ was made thinking about how people will receive Agust D’s music, which is why we also featured IU. It’s kind of a trial to release this music under the name Agust D. I’m actually a little bit worried.”

The singer added that “Pt. 2” deals with seeking connection and fighting loneliness, whereas the first part of the song, “People,” from the 2020 D-2 mixtape looked externally to other people’s judgements.

“I think loneliness is being together in modern society. I always talk about loneliness in my interviews, but regretfully, it isn’t always in the final interview,” he said. “Not only me, everyone has this loneliness inside them until the moment they die. However deep you are in a relationship, how much you engage with other people, how many friends you meet, or how often you meet with your family, you always have the loneliness inside… This album doesn’t really finalize everything in its message either. So, there might be a possibility there could be a ‘Part 3’ later on. For now, we’re just trying to say, ‘Let’s not hate each other. Let’s find a way.’”

The piece will air in one of the late-night show’s final 12 episodes, which will conclude April 27. The other two musical guests rounding out the trio of “Carpool Karaoke” farewells have not yet been announced, but other confirmed segments include a “Take a Break” segment featuring the Kardashian family and a “Crosswalk the Musical” performance.

The K-pop girl group has previously appeared on Corden’s show over the course of its eight years on CBS. In 2019, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé performed their 2019 single “Kill This Love” and partook in a game of “Flinch,” all four of them good sports as the late-night host shot exploding fruit at their faces.

Also booked to make appearances on The Late Late Show‘s remaining episodes are Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, Tom Cruise, Josh Gad, Jennifer Garner, Brett Goldstein, Kate Hudson, Mila Kunis, Seth Meyers, Billy Porter and Sharon Stone. Plus, Allison Janney will celebrate having the most guest appearances on the program, with 15 prior visits.

Corden first announced his plans to leave the show last year, admitting in a monologue that it was the “hardest decision” he’d ever had to make.

“When I started this journey, it was always going to be just that. It was going to be a journey, an adventure,” he said at the time. “I never saw it as my final destination, you know? And I never want this show to overstay its welcome in any way. I always want to love making it. And I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on and see what else might be out there.”

The Late Late Show With James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET/PT on CBS.

BTS‘ Suga hits the road in the 30-second teaser for an upcoming solo documentary slated to air on Disney+ and Weverse. The K-pop superstar is front and center in the clip for SUGA: Road to D-Day, which opens with a quick-cut montage of snapshots of cities around the globe (Seoul, Tokyo, Pyeongchang, Chuncheon, Las Vegas, Malibu and San Francisco) before cutting to footage of Suga on a plane and traveling the world.

“This is my first time walking down this road. I’m really excited right now,” he says while taking a late-night walk while wearing a face mask in the video in which he jets around the globe on his own — including taking a sunset drive through the desert — as he embarks on a one-man adventure in the midst of the boy band’s pause to focus on solo projects.

“Whenever a concert ends and I go in [and say] ‘Ah, I’m tired.’ No like, it’s my first time doing this in my life! Even in Korea I’ve never done this before,” he says in the translation of his inner monologue in the video preview.

At press time no air date has been announced for the special.

Suga’s bandmate, J-Hope, released his solo documentary, j-hope IN THE BOX, on Disney+ earlier this year. Last month, Suga announced the dates for his first-ever solo world tour, which is slated to kick off on April 26 at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York. The rapper/dancer will play a series of multi-night gigs in Rosemont, IL, Los Angeles and Oakland in early and mid May before jumping to Jakarta on May 26, then Japan in early June, followed by Bangkok, Singapore and two hometown shows in Seoul, South Korea on June 24-25.
