While the world awaits word on what movie revered film maker Jordan Peele is planning on releasing come Oct. 13, 2026 (rumors is it’s a remake of The People Under The Stars), the man is keeping himself busy with another project, which happens to be a remake of a prank show that hasn’t been seen in years.
According to Deadline, Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions is teaming up with Universal Television Alternative Studios to resurrect the horror comedy show from the early 2000s, Scare Tactics, and word is it will be launching sooner than later as they have a tentative premier date of fall 2024 on the USA Network. Having originally aired for five seasons from 2003 to 2013, the prank show had a solid following of viewers who would tune in and watch everyday people get scared out of their minds when put in supernatural life and death situations.
Now that Peele is working to bring the show back, it will be interesting to see what kind of situations his creative mind can conjure up to get the most terrifying reactions out of his unsuspecting subjects. With the help of Elan Gale (Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club) serving as the showrunner and executive producer, it will be interesting to see how intense and real certain situations will play out and the kind of “fight or flight” reactions we’ll get out of everyday people.
Deadline reports:
“As one of the most visionary creators of the day, there is nothing Jordan Peele can’t do. We’re honored to be making our first unscripted series together,” said Corie Henson, EVP, Unscripted Content, NBCUniversal Entertainment. “This brilliant reimagining of the classic Scare Tactics has it all – laughs, jump scares and outrageous moments. In the hands of Jordan and Monkeypaw, you never know what’s coming next.”
“We’re so grateful at Monkeypaw to help reimagine one of our all-time favorite hidden-camera shows. Working with showrunner Elan Gale, one of the most creative and mischievous minds in unscripted television, and Scott Hallock, the brilliant creator of the original Scare Tactics, has been an absolute blast,” added Win Rosenfeld, President of Monkeypaw Productions. “It’s cathartic and hilarious to watch people get a little scared, and the scenarios we cooked up for this season are really wild. We can’t wait to share a little light-hearted schadenfreude with audiences soon.”
So long as it doesn’t lead to someone having a heart attack or trying to kill their way out of a bad situation, it should be hilarious and harmless fun.

It’s been years since Jordan Peele’s last hit sci-fi film, NOPE, enthralled audiences and left them wanting more of the director’s creative and social-politically driven imagination. On Monday (June 17), he gave everyone a date as to when we can expect to see his next project.
Taking to his official social media pages, Peele dropped a new post which didn’t say anything other than a date of “10.23.26.”
While there’s little word on what kind of film Peele is working on or who it’ll star, with the date close to Halloween of 2026 we can only assume it will be a new horror or sci-fi film.
Though he’s been credited as a producer on recent films like Candyman, Monkey Man (joint was hella dope) and the upcoming Him, starring Marlon Wayans, fans of Jordan Peele live to see what he cooks up whenever he writes and directs a new feature film.
There’s even been rumors that Jordan Peele has recently met with studio execs for Marvel Studios to take over the Blade project that’s been plagued by all kinds of problems from scripts being re-written numerous times to directors walking out on the project to the film’s star, Mahershala Ali rumored to be giving up on the role himself. Would a Blade film written and directed by Jordan Peele be something that fans would be interested in? You’re damn right we would.
Given Jordan Peele’s history of teasing his upcoming films, there’s a good chance we won’t get much more information until a year before the project is slated to release, so we can do nothing but speculate for the next year and change of what he might be cooking up. Could it be a brand new horror/sci-fi film? A sequel to one of his other classics? Could it actually be Blade or another Marvel movie like Midnight Sons? We have no idea, but we can’t wait to find out.
What do you think Jordan Peele will be dropping come October 2026? Let us know in the comments section below.

Jordan Peele has a new psychological thriller on the way starring Marlon Wayans and has revealed its title and expected release date.
The wait for a new movie is over for those who are huge Jordan Peele fans. According to reports, the filmmaker’s Monkeypaw Productions and Universal Pictures announced the title of the new film last week – Him. It’s set to star Marlon Wayans, who plays a legendary quarterback who is taking on the task of training an up-and-coming star athlete, who will be portrayed by Tyriq Withers. Withers’ character will then train at an isolated compound used by Wayans’ character.
The movie also stars Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Tim Heidecker of the comedy duo Tim & Eric, comedian Jim Jefferies, and rising Hip-Hop stars Guapdad 4000 and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack, who make their feature film debuts. Touted as a psychological horror film covering a “blood-chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, power and the pursuit of excellence at any cost,”, Him will be directed by Justin Tipping. The screenplay, which was lauded as one of the best unproduced screenplays in 2022, was written by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie. In addition to Peele, Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson will produce for Monkeypaw Productions. It is executive produced by David Kern and Monkeypaw’s Kate Oh.
Him’s release date in movie theaters will be Sept. 19, 2025. It was originally set for Christmas Day of this year but had to be taken off of the release calendar due to the months-long labor strikes in Hollywood. At that point, it had been called GOAT. This will be Peele’s fourth film after the award-winning Get Out, Us, and Nope. His production company recently released the Dev Patel-starred action thriller Monkey Man and is working on a horror game with renowned video game creator Hideo Kojima, which was announced last December at The Game Awards.

Mark your calendars. Jordan Peele is dropping his next masterpiece on Christmas 2024.
Spotted on Variety, Jordan Peele wants to bring holiday scares with his next film, set to arrive in theaters Christmas 2024.
Universal Pictures, which released Peele’s other blockbuster films, Get Out, Us and Nope, has added an “Untitled Fourth Film Directed by Jordan Peele” to its release calendar coming December 25, 2024.

While Peele is amassing a cult following with his films, he will be up against some stiff competition at the box office if this release date holds. According to Variety, Peele’s next movie will release one week after James Cameron’s Avatar 3 and Sonic The Hedgehog 3, both juggernauts regarding raking in the dough.
The big-screen adaptation of the Broadway hit, Wicked, starring Cynthia Erivo, was initially set to hit Christmas, but Universal pushed the film’s release date up to Thanksgiving.
But Wait, There’s More
Also noted in the announcement of Peele’s next film, Universal put another untiled Monkeypaw film coming September 27, 2024, while removing a yet-to-named animated feature off the slate.
As to what these films are about, there are no details, as Peele likes to keep everything close to the chest when it comes to his projects. The director, who is quickly becoming the modern-day Alfred Hitchcock, but don’t you dare call him a legend just yet, likes to keep us in the dark about his movies until it’s time to hit us with a trailer featuring a twisted version of a classic song.
Peele is currently riding on a wave of success. Get Out was his first box office success with a $255 million haul and was a critical darling earning four Oscar nominations. 2019’s Us also brought in $255 million, and 2022’s horror/sci-fi Nope saw him reunite with his Get Out lead, Daniel Kaluuya earning more than $170 million globally.
