The problems between Cam’ron and Jim Jones continue to be a hot topic in Hip-Hop. Maino is doing damage control with Cam’s story about being confronted by Jim, but the internet proves that Cam’ron was right.
As per HipHopDX, Maino paid a visit to Way Up With Angela Yee. During the broadcast the radio personality asked him about the recent headlines Cam’ron made when he said that Jim Jones pressed Maino about some lyrics and Maino didn’t go for it. To hear Maino tell it, Cam’s version of the story wasn’t 100% accurate. “The song he’s talking about is the song that put me in the game, ‘Rumors,’ where I was talking about all the rumors in the industry,” he explained. “The thing about that is I mentioned [Cam’ron] in the song; I didn’t mention Jimmy. Jimmy didn’t like me [because of that] so when we saw each other, we would have these ‘face fights,’ but nothing ever happened.”
Maino went on to detail how he and Jim Jones settled things during a random moment while shopping at a mall in Atlanta. “He didn’t approach me and press me or none of that. We had a conversation. It wasn’t spectacular, nobody swung. Once we started to talk and realized that we had things in common, we were cool from that point on. We’ve been way cooler than we were [enemies] because we didn’t know each other. That was a long time ago.”
During The Breakfast Club DJ Envy also chimed in on the previous tension that Maino and Jim Jones had and told a story where Maino pretended to have a gun on him in order to get the Byrd Gang to back up. During the same segment with Angela Yee he said that DJ Envy’s story was also incorrect. “I think maybe Envy is maybe confusing some incidents that maybe he was a part of because for one I’ve never in my life ever faked like I had a gun for nobody,” Maino added.
But one thing about the Internet, it always keeps receipts. Back in 2021, DJ Envy was a guest on Maino’s podcast Kitchen Talk. During the episode DJ Envy explained how the two originally met on the wrong foot but would soon become close friends. So close they would frequently go to nightclubs together. One night while partying, they see Jim Jones and DJ Envy tells the same story about the fake gun while Maino is sitting right next to him. If body language is any indicator, it seems that Maino was in agreement with Envy’s recollection of that evening.

Just when it seemed like Cam’ron might have put an end to his unforeseen drama with Jim Jones with his epic rant on It Is What It Is, 50 Cent decided to egg on the drama as he’s known to add fuel to whatever fire is burning within his vicinity.
Though Cam stated that he would no longer entertain any back-and-forth with Jim after speaking on the matter, 50 Cent made no such promises and is still looking to troll the former Dipset Capo for talking greasy about him. Taking to the Gram to continue to poke fun at Jim Jones, 50 Cent posted a clip of Cam’s now famous clapback at Jim Jones’ credibility and in the caption wrote, “Individual 1, I mean joMo, jimmy you better holla at Cam privately and chill out.”

Referring to him as “Individual 1” is a shot at Jones, as 50 has accused him of cooperating with feds in the entire Tekashi 6ix9ine investigation that led to the arrest of multiple Blood members in Tekashi’s former circle. He even included a shot of Mase eating popcorn on the sideline with a caption that read, “This is the worst part of the video LOL HARLEM !”

While Jones was noticeably silent after Cam’s video made the rounds on social media, it seems like the man was cooking up a little response in the studio. Earlier today (Jan. 14), he previewed a clip to a new song on his Instagram page that may or may not be a response to both Cam’ron and 50 Cent. Though he doesn’t say anyone’s name he does include some references to Cam’ron’s response to his interview with Justin Laboy.

We don’t know where this is going or where it’s going to end, but we just hope these grown ass men don’t take it to a violent level. Everyone here’s a millionaire and there isn’t any need for anyone to put their freedom or their health in jeopardy over ego. Just sayin’.

Sorry Dipset fans, but it doesn’t seem like a new Diplomats album may ever materialize, as Cam’ron and Jim Jones are currently engulfed in a war of words. Killa Cam has been clapping back at his former Capo over some comments that Jones made during an interview with Justin Laboy just last week.
During the interview, Jim spoke about Cam’s interview with 50 Cent in which they spoke about how 50 was able to get Jim Jones to appear with G-Unit at the height of 50’s back-and-forth with Cam’ron and basically said both 50 and Cam were on his “d*ck” all these years later. While 50 trolled Jimmy with an IG post insinuating his was working with the feds during their investigation of Tekashi 6ix9ine and his former crew, the Nine Trey Gangsters, Cam took to his podcast and aired out Jimmy in a way more personal way.
Grabbing the mic (pause) on his It Is What It Is show, Cam’ron gave Jim a dressing down (pause, again?) and said that the only reason Cam embraced Jim into Dipset was because he was “fanned out” and “begged” Cam and his crew to give him a shot. He even revealed that Mase taught him how to rap as the camera man shifted his focus to Mase, who was eating a bucket of popcorn on his side of the table (LMAO).
“We taught you how to rap, ni**a. How you ran the whole organization?” Cam’ron asked.
But the biggest dart that might’ve hurt Jim was when Cam’ron reminded people that Jim Jones isn’t even from Harlem. While many New Yorkers were already familiar with that fact, some fans might not be aware of Jim’s roots as he screams Harlem as much as any other rapper who actually hails from the Black Mecca in New York.
“We didn’t grow up with you!” Cam stated. “You not from none of that! So you can sit around and act like you been around all this Harlem sh*t and everything. You ever see somebody from Harlem try to act like they’re from Harlem so bad that you gotta keep saying ‘I’m from Harlem’?”
Jim Jones is actually from the Bronx.
Cam then went on to say that Jim tends to beef with guys only to befriend them once they “put hands” on Jim. From C-Gutta (Junior Mafia) to Maino to French Montana, Cam came with the (alleged) tea, b.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see if Jim responds to his former homie.

We are not even two weeks into 2025 and Jim Jones has already gone viral. Capo has responded to 50 Cent after the Queens rapper hinted he was an informant.
As spotted on HipHopDX the Harlem native has clapped back at 50 Cent after the G-Unit honcho took a jab at him. Earlier this week footage from Justin Laboy’s Respectfully podcast relaunch hit the internet. On this episode, Jim Jones had some choice words to say when asked about why he performed at a G-Unit show while Cam’ron and 50 Cent had Rap beef.
“Them n***as be on my d*ck,” Jim responded. “Them n***as ain’t got nothing else to think about but Capo. I did a lot for them n***as in their life, ya heard? Both of them. Pause, though. Get off my d*ck! It’s only space on there for baby girl. Come on, man. Tugging on my sh*t like that.”
Naturally, this landed on 50 Cent’s radar prompting him to respond in signature petty fashion.
On Thursday, Jan. 9 Curtis took to Instagram hinting that the “We Fly High” rapper played an informant role in the Tekashi 6ix9ne case. The post features a transcript of a conversation between Mel Matrix and Jim Jones (labeled “Individual 1”) as the two discuss how Tekashi should be reprimanded for betraying the Nine Trey Bloods set. In essence, 50 Cent is hinting that Jim Jones might have cooperated with the police since his name is in the paperwork but he was not sentenced to any jail time.
That same day Jim Jones posted a throwback photo of himself at the height of Byrd Gang era. “Why u keep on lying why u keep on lying 🤥 lol I’m goin back to sleep 😴
Free Mel matrix till it’s reversed” the caption read.
50 Cent has yet respond.

Justin Laboy is kicking off 2025 in a major way. He relaunched his #Respectfully show and had Jim Jones as his first guest.
The man known for his witty memes is bringing back his signature platform. This week Justin Laboy brought back his #Respectfully show and the debut show did not disappoint one bit. The social media icon got Jim Jones to discuss a variety of topics surrounding his career, personal life, professional relationships and much more. While the “We Set The Trends” performer tends to keep his love life private he did speak about his long time girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin.
Source: @shareifz / @shareifz
During the conversation, Capo revealed he and Lampkin originally formally met in Miami even though they both are from Harlem. He went on to confirm that they will definitely be tying the knot after many years of being exclusive. “I come from a day where you get married that’s who you’re with forever. We are about to get it going” he said.
Of course, his relationship with Cam’ron and MA$E was also a topic of discussion. Jim Jones made it clear while he is happy for their success with the It Is What It Is show, he explained that the “Feel So Good” MC wasn’t always the nicest to Cam’ron. “I watched MA$E sh*t on Cam’ and everyone around him; all the time. Cam’s enemies were my enemies and I already seen how he was handling Cam’ so I definitely didn’t like him [MA$E]” Jim explained. He also claimed that he inspired Cam’ron to start wearing pink during the height of his career.

Jim Jones has never been one to bite his tongue and over the weekend the Harlem representative had the sneaker community buzzing when he shared some of his thoughts on the current state of the sneaker culture.
Taking to Instagram to share some of his thoughts on the sneaker game, Jim began his random rant by stating, “Sneakers culture started with drug dealers, argue wit ur mamma.” While he’s not wrong, many were caught off guard by the blunt statement, but Jim didn’t stop there. In the caption, he went on to explain “Who made Nike n Reebok’s fly and before [that] pumas [and] Adidas Michael Jordan made ’em, but [the] drug dealers made me want to buy them. Now a days most basketball sneakers are not fashionable any more, [it’s] why a lot of sneaker companies [are] losing right now.”
Again, the man isn’t wrong. The sneaker silhouettes of today’s top sports superstars really seem geared more towards on-court and on-field appeal than something you can rock with a fly outfit. But he didn’t stop there, Jim then went off on online sneaker personalities who’ve made names for themselves in the sneaker community saying, “I b watchin all these weird dudes doing sneakers shows [and] sneakers reviews never had to hustle to get pair they don’t know [the] risk to thrill factor. Most of them never had a pair of Jordans when they [came] out they only brought retros.”
You have to wonder which one of them said something that irked Jim to the point that he had to make this post to get his point across.
If you know anything about Jim Jones, you know that the man is a big sneakerhead. Like most of us OGs, he has an affinity for retro Jordans and Nikes, and like most of us older heads, he isn’t too impressed with the new silhouettes and designs that the big sneaker brands have been releasing over the last few years.
Why he decided to go on this sneaker rant is anyone’s guess, but at the end of the day the man isn’t wrong and we have to ride with him on this one. Not about the weird sneaker personalities, but everything else, sure why not.

Jim Jones was recently involved in an airport brawl with two men in a wild scene that saw the men tumbling down an escalator before the authorities intervened. According to new reports, Jim Jones will not face charges as it was determined he was acting in self-defense.
As reported by TMZ, Jim Jones was traveling first class to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and upon landing attempted to retrieve his bags from an overhead compartment, which angered a fellow passenger. Jones sternly warned the man after he bumped him and reportedly grabbed his arm while another man began yelling at him.
Deputies were called to the plane but the men exited without moving forward with charges while heading to baggage claim. It was there when one of the men physically approached Jones with the other man from the plane incident joining in. Jones picked one man up and slammed him while another kept hitting Jones from behind. Officers quickly swarmed to the scene and broke the fight up with one of the men looking worse for wear.
Surveillance video of the brawl backed the claims Jones made that he didn’t start the brawl. The Harlem rapper and businessman told TMZ Hip Hop, “I was minding my business and defended myself. They got what they were looking for.”
They most certainly did.

While the Hip-Hop culture was fixated and taken aback by Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s rap warfare over the weekend, Jim Jones was able to make some news himself as he found himself getting involved in a physical altercation at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
According to TMZ, the “We Fly High (Ballin’)” rapper got into a fistfight on an escalator with two older white men who obviously didn’t know that Jones was ’bout that life.

In the video obtained by TMZ, Jones is seen arguing with one man before picking him up and throwing him down the escalator where he landed on another elderly man who ended up injured in the melee. Once Jones got to the bottom of the escalator the fight continued as another man began pounding away at the Harlem rapper while he was still fighting off the first guy who seemingly started the entire situation.
Per TMZ:
A woman rushes to turn off the escalator, but the fight continues despite protests from others hoping to get away from the violent scene.
Finally, a pair of officers break up the fight … with Jim letting go of the man he’s holding pretty quick — who appears to be gushing blood BTW. He protests, yelling, “It’s two of them against me,” but he allows the officer to lead him away and sit him in a chair.
One of the other individuals isn’t quite so calm … trying to pull out of a sheriff’s deputy’s grasp — though more officers arrive on the scene and stop him from going any further.
We reached out to Jim who tells TMZ Hip Hop … “I was minding my business and defended myself. They got what they were looking for.’
In the video Jones kept telling the officers that the men assaulted him. As he took his seat, the man who Jones was fighting was acting belligerent and giving the officers a hard time. Seems like Jim Jones was indeed standing up for himself if that man’s behavior is any indication.
Our only question is, where was Jones’ peoples? It’s not like him to roll around alone. Had he been with his crew, it would’ve been a wrap for those old men. Just sayin’.

Jadakiss and Jim Jones joined forces to march with healthcare workers to the New York governor’s office to demand action on Medicaid.
On Saturday (March 23), members of the 1199SEIU healthcare workers union marched in New York City to the office of New York Governor Kathy Hochul to protest the new restrictions that she has placed concerning Medicaid. Joining them on the march were two top-notch rappers – Jadakiss and Jim Jones. The Dipset MC shared footage of himself and the Lox artist marching with the healthcare workers in the rain in a post on Instagram.
“What we doin?” Jadakiss asks as Jim Jones holds up the camera to capture the moment. “We gettin’ our steps on like Malcolm and Martin, out here for a good cause,” Jones replies. In the caption of the post, he wrote: “Special shout out to all the #1199Healthcare workers who show up for the cause today and march to fight for [what’s] right,” also adding:
“The government is only covering 70 percent of Medicaid cost at our new York hospitals [and] clinics. This 30 percent gap is causing underfunding [which] cause the hospitals to b[e] understaffed then eventually havin’ to close [their] doors. To prevent this from happening we [need] everyone to let the governor know we need the 30 percent to [be] implemented immediately. Shouts to @hot97 [and] @funkflex for keeping the city united when we need it the most @jadakiss.”
In January, 1199SEIU called on Governor Hochul to stop underpaying the state’s hospitals on Medicaid claims. Currently, only 70% of all bills under Medicaid are paid fully. “Over seven million New Yorkers rely on Medicaid services, the majority of whom come from Black and Latino communities. Despite the fact that Medicaid provides vital coverage to these New Yorkers, the state pays hospitals 30% less than the actual cost of needed care,” their statement reads. The practice has led to the closure of two major hospitals in New York City and 15 maternity centers in the state.
The march is the second time Jadakiss has been spotted outside in service of the people. He was recently seen offering support to those incarcerated in the Rikers Island prison system, bringing them pizza from the viral eatery, Cuts N’ Slices.
“Didn’t break my fast but I did let the brothers enjoy the meal and festivities,” he wrote in the caption.

Though Jim Jones has a reputation for getting his thug on out in these streets, over the years the Harlem representative has been doing what he can to uplift his community. And his efforts have not gone unnoticed.
After putting together various giveaways and back to school drives over the years, Jim Jones found himself the recipient of PIX11’s Community Hero Award for the good the man has been doing in his hometown of Harlem.
Though the interview didn’t air until Tuesday (Nov. 27), in early November, the Dip Set Capo sat down with Monica Morales to talk about his Thanksgiving giveaway, why he felt the need to give back to his community and where the inspiration came from. “It’s something I’ve been compelled to do since I started to make some money,” Jim said. “Coming up watching hustlers, that was one of the things they did. They used to take care of the neighborhood. They was the people that was getting all the money. It’s my turn now.”
Making the most of his turn to give back, Jim has really been trying to do what he can to get others to help him in his effort to uplift the less fortunate. From getting in the ear of Mayor Eric Adams for an NYC dance competition to trying to get Nike to begin a program to bless school students with free Nike attire (good luck with that), Jim’s been making the most of his celebrity to get others involved in his newfound mission. We love it. If only more rappers took that initiative.
Check out Jim’s interview segment around the 8:15 minute-mark below along with some IG posts of Jim doing good for the hood. Let us know your thoughts on him getting the Community Hero Award in the comments section.
