It is clear Jim Jones isn’t easily impressed. When asked about The Clipse’s new music he made it clear he wasn’t a fan.

As spotted on HipHopDX Jim Jones was making his rounds at the 2025 BET Awards media room. During a sit down with Bootleg Kev, CAPO was asked about The Clipse’s new single “Ace Trumpets.” As expected he did not bite his tongue when it came to the Virginia duo. “What’s so great about it? It’s good in what? The nostalgic value of it? I don’t believe it. I don’t believe it, I don’t believe them” he explained. “But that’s a whole other story and I don’t wanna downplay nobody’s craft, but I don’t listen to their music and never have. I don’t recall too many records that I can remember.”

Jim Jones is no stranger to The Clipse. He and Pusha T have traded jabs over the last few years and it stems from Push’s ranking in a Billboard Magazine’s 50 greatest rappers list. “What has he done that puts him in the greatest rappers of all time? Besides talk about cocaine that he probably didn’t get himself. He could rap his ass off but what has he done?” Jim Jones responded when asked about it. “Nobody has dressed like him. Nobody want to be like Pusha T. I don’t remember nothing.”

It is widely believed the “Mercy” MC responded to Jim Jones in a song that was played during a 2023 Louis Vuitton fashion show. “Beware of my name, that there’s delegate / You know I know where you’re delicate / Crush you to pieces, I’ll hum a breath of it / I will close your heaven for the hell of it / You think it’d be valor amongst veterans/ I’m watching your fame escape relevance / We all in a room but here’s the elephant / You chasing a feature out of your element.”

Ciara’s spirit can’t be denied. She recently ran up on Jim Jones and urged him to marry his longtime girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin.

As spotted on Complex Magazine Jim Jones was out and about for the recent BET Awards. While conducting an interview with DJ Self, he got a surprise visit from Ciara who decided to crash the Q&A with a specific purpose. Upon sitting down at the booth the “Level Up” singer gave Jim Jones a very passionate rally to put a ring on Chrissy’s finger. “Ya’ll have lived life in every capacity anyone could live it in,” she explained. “You’re living like you’ve already done it, so let’s just seal it properly because you know what? She deserves it. You deserve it. Why not?”

Jim Jones took her speech with grace and smiled throughout the entire impromptu encounter. Later on CAPO sat in a different interview with Loren LoRosa from The Breakfast Club and was asked about Ciara plea. “I felt like I got scolded by somebody that was younger than me,” Jomo said jokingly. “Nah, it was good though. It was a great piece of advice. Honestly, I needed that encouragement.” He went on reveal that her advice was indeed received. “I needed to hear that, especially for somebody who’s active in preaching what she’s teaching, you know what I mean?” he added. “My situation has been going better than a lot of things that have been going on out here.”

In an interview with 90s Baby Show earlier this year, Jim Jones detailed that he has been locked in with Chrissy since the early 2000’s. You can see him discuss how they met in Miami below.

Styles P has been one of the sharpest rappers in the game for the past three decades as a member of The Lox, along with his prolific solo career. In a recent interview, Styles P essentially ranked himself higher than Jim Jones and cited his body of work as proof.

Styles P was a recent guest on The No Funny Sh*t podcast hosted by Kenny “KP” Supreme & DP. The G-Host discussed a bevy of topics, including his alignment with his brothers from The Lox, his various health business ventures, becoming an elder in Hip-Hop, and life as it happens.

In a clip that began to buzz online, Kenny Supreme, who we should note is a Harlem native, floated the idea that the Capo Jim Jones would get Styles P out of here in a song-for-song VERZUZ-like battle. Holidays Styles, a battle-tested MC, met Supreme’s assertion head-on as any rapper would when it comes to their skill set.

“Me and Jim [Jones] ain’t in the same league,” Styles says, after telling Supreme that his opinion is incorrect in his eyes. “Me and Jim don’t do the same things. I’m a bar master. I’m a lyrical technician. I’ve been on joints with some of the best emcees in the world. [The Notorious] B.I.G., Hov, Black Thought, Talib [Kweli]. I bar sh*t down.”

Styles added, “If there is a lyricist or MC, I’m one of their favorites. I’m not here to make catchy hooks and do dope shit, I don’t know that. I’m into making your f*cking soul move.”

Styles P, along with Jadakiss and Sheek Louch, easily dispatched of Jim Jones and the Dipset collective in their explosive VERZUZ battle in New York that the culture still talks about with high reverence. Will this renew interest in a further battle? Will the Vamp Life honcho respond to Styles? Stay tuned.

As of late Jim Jones has been on a mission to show and prove that he’s one of the hardest working rappers in the game today. Following the release of his latest album, At The Church Steps, he’s really driving that point home as he’s been dropping off new videos on the regular.

Keeping that same energy of 2025 going, Jones comes through with some new Lyrivelli-assisted visuals to “Civil Rights” where Jones heads down to Atlanta to take in the nightlife and visits Magic City with his peoples where they make it rain on the thick talent before heading to the studio to lay down their vocals. We low-key thought with a title like “Civil Rights” Jim Jones was going to be spitting some activist bars. Just sayin’.

Redman meanwhile adds another installment to one of his classic rap series and for his clip to the Melanie Rutherford- featured “Soopaman Luva 7,” Reggie Nobel gets animated (literally) as he spits an entertaining story about his latest sexual conquest (LOL).

Check out the rest of today’s drops, including work from Too $hort featuring Larry June and Bosslife Big Spence, Umi and 6lack, and more.

In a recent interview, Dipset rapper Jim Jones reaffirmed his belief that Drake is the greatest rapper of all time.

Jones originally made the claim during a March 2023 conversation with Complex, and when asked again nearly a year later, he stood by it without hesitation. Breaking into a playful rendition of Drake’s “Babygirl” line from “Nokia,” Jones emphasized the significant impact Drake has had on hip-hop over the last decade.

Jones argued that Drake has transformed the way audiences engage with music and has played a pivotal role in boosting the careers of countless artists. “What you gonna say to Drake? What you really gonna do with him, man?” he asked, pointing to Drake’s unmatched versatility and influence. He credited the Canadian rapper with helping evolve the sound of modern Hip-Hop and offering a platform to both rising and established names—through collaborations and touring opportunities.

“He’s done more for our culture than most of these people,” Jones said, stressing that Drake’s contributions go far beyond his own success. While the interviewer noted that much has happened since Jones’s original statement—likely referring to Drake’s public feud with Kendrick Lamar—Jones remained unfazed. He focused instead on Drake’s broader legacy and lasting influence.

His comments fuel the ongoing debate over Hip-Hop’s GOAT, placing Drake at the forefront not just for his chart-topping hits, but for his cultural imprint and the widespread impact he’s had on the genre and its community.

It’s been a few weeks since Jim Jones released his lates album At The Church’s Steps, and though 50 Cent and Cam’ron weren’t too impressed with his first week sales to say the least (they clowned him), Jones is mushing on and dropping off new work in support of his project.

Linking up with Keen Streetz and Mia Ariannaa for his visuals to “Walk With Me,” Jones returns to his hood in Harlem with enough ice to make the temp on the block drop a few degrees while Mia and Keen politic in and outside of the bodega.

Elsewhere Curren$y decides to do a little stuntin’ of his own and in his and Harry Fraud’s clip to “Duct Tape,” Curren$y pulls out the bright yellow Ferrari to show heads how he rolls before rolling up a fat spliff and enjoying one of the gifts the earth has given to man. We’re eternally thankful for that.

Check out the rest of today’s drops and some joints you might’ve missed over the weekend including work from Wiz Khalifa and Rakai, D Stunna featuring Aye West, and more.

Back in the early 2000s when Dame Dash signed The Diplomats to Roc-A-Fella Records, rumors began to swirl that there was a confrontation between Dipset and Roc-A-Fella members that caused animosity in the camp (some even said Juelz Santana slapped Jay-Z). And now, we might’ve gotten some clarity as to what actually happened—and allegedly, someone indeed got slapped.

In a recent interview for The Art of The Dialogue, former Dipset member Freekey Zekey revealed that the tension between Dipset and Roc-A-Fella stemmed from a dust up between Jim Jones (of course) and Roc-A-Fella executive, Lenny Santiago. Reminiscing about the incident that began the drama, Zekey said things went left when Dipset called Lenny in order to get some studio time on a Sunday to which Santiago responded, “Kiss my ass, it’s Sunday. What you talkin’ about?”

Needless to say, that didn’t go over too well with Jones and company. The next day they went to the studio looking for retribution. Though he wasn’t around for the actual incident, Zekey says, “I’m pretty sure somebody got slapped or something physical happened to Lenny S.” Looking to kill whatever internal beef there might’ve been within the label, Dame Dash’s solution was for Jim Jones and Lenny S. to simply fight mano-a-mano. He got the two men in front of each other and said, “Lenny S., go over there and fight Jim.’”
That really does sound like something Dame Dash would do, too (LOL).
The proposed fight didn’t actually happen though, as Lenny called some reinforcements in the form of Memphis Bleek’s fam who rolled up in a jeep.
“That’s when it kinda.. the diamond started to… we found something hard enough to start to break the diamond. Because it was like, ‘Hold on, this is Bleek’s people with Lenny S. and y’all n-ggas gonna ride?’ That’s where the divide came from. It was just supposed to just be a Lenny S., Jim Jones fight but I guess Lenny S. called somebody and who he called was Bleek’s fam.”
Could that be the reason why Memphis Bleek once said that Dame Dash threatened to kick him off the Roc-A-Fella label, which in turn led to Dame and Jay-Z’s turmoil?
Regardless of what exactly led to the demise of one of the greatest Hip-Hop labels the game had ever seen, it’s disappointing to know that we could’ve gotten hella good music from Dipset and Roc-A-Fella artists during that period in time only for them to beef internally over egos.
Such a shame.
Check out Freeky Zekey’s talk about the incident below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

With his latest album, At The Church Steps officially out on the streets and making noise, Jim Jones isn’t letting up on dropping new videos in support of the project and for his latest offering linked up with some of his rap peers for one of the album’s fan favorite cuts.

Partnering up with the likes of Dyce Peso and Keen Streetz for the visuals to “Hoodie Season,” Jim Jones and company take to the club to get things turnt up and proceed to pop some bottles, smoke some bud and rub elbows with the likes of Marlon Wayans and Rick Ross. They don’t call Jim Jones the OG YN for nothing, b.

Elsewhere his one-time former label mate, Memphis Bleek is living his grown man life and in his clip to “Still Roc,” Bleek takes a trip out to the Dominican Republic where he lays up at a fancy cabana and sports his OG Roc-A-Fella chains to show that his allegiance is now and forever will be to the Roc.
Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Dave East and Ransom, Killah Priest, and more.

If Dipset fans thought that the drama between Cam’ron and Jim Jones would blow over and the two would hash out their differences and rap kumbaya anytime soon, think again.

Days after Jim Jones challenged Killa Cam to a $10 million boxing match and accused Cam of backdooring some money made from their infamous loss to The Lox at the legendary Verzuz battle of 2021, Cam is clapping back with his side of the story and claiming that Jim didn’t even want to get paid for their lackluster performance (no shots). During his Breakfast Club interview, Jones claimed that Cam did some “sucka” sh*t by taking money off the top for himself and not splitting it with his fellow Dipset members.

Taking to Instagram to respond to Jones, Cam’ron didn’t necessarily deny the claim but instead said that he basically did Jim Jones a favor by even agreeing to do the Verzuz with The Lox; Jones said he’d do it for free if need be, as this was something that was on his “bucket list.”
In a lengthy caption breaking down what Jones was referring to, Cam’ron wrote, “I don’t pay half the shit niggas say no mind. But you know I keep the files. You wanted to do versus for free nigga. So if you made a dollar be happy. Talking bout it was on ya bucket list 🙄.. stop tryna re-write history. Now u got a [loss] in the garden and the Barclays 😂😂”
Yeah, these men aren’t squashing anything anytime soon.
Continuing to taunt Jones for accusing Cam’ron of shady business dealings, Cam continued with another paragraph saying, “And ya niggas ain’t eating unless they came with they own bread. The boy @sugadugga_ent got more money than you. And let’s bet 10M’s on that. Go get handsome a car a crib in jersey something 🤦🏾‍♂️”
Cam’ron out here saying he got receipts of Jim saying he’d perform for free. We all know Cam be keeping all his old phones with texts and messages. Hopefully this doesn’t get too out of hand, as Cam ended his post with “I’m done..FO NOW.”
While we hate to see two old friends get successful in the rap game just to become enemies over money, these two are hella entertaining whenever they bump heads. Still, we hope they eventually get over their beef and reunite on a record at some point.
What do y’all think about Cam’ron’s response to Jim Jones backdooring allegation? Fair or foul? Let us know in the comments section below.

Kanye West recently showed some love to the legendary rap group Dipset by posting a photo rocking a fur-hooded coat that perfectly matched a Dipset chain.

The bold move was a clear nod to the iconic crew, which includes Cam’ron, Jim Jones, and Juelz Santana. Kanye, known for his trendsetting fashion, blended high-end style with street culture, paying homage to the influence Dipset has had on the game. In Ye fashion (no pun), the coat and chain combo instantly caught the attention of fans, making people wonder what was the meaning behind it.

This fashion shoutout came amid an interesting time for Dipset, especially with the ongoing tension between Cam’ron and Jim Jones. Recently, Kanye and Jim were spotted together in Tokyo. While Cam’ron and Jim Jones have had their disagreements recently, seeing Kanye with Jim in a public setting suggests a level of unity or at least respect between them (and possibly Ye trying to squash the beef?).  Kanye’s gesture goes beyond just fashion; it’s a public acknowledgment of Dipset’s influence, not only in music but in shaping hip-hop culture as a whole.

Despite any internal beefs within the group, Kanye’s support for Jim Jones shows that even in a divided scene, respect and love can still cross boundaries. Fans are left wondering if this moment signals the beginning of more collaborations or just a passing moment of mutual appreciation. Ye has been a collaborator with the Diplomats in years past, even making an appearance on Cam’ron’s Purple Haze album on the track “Down & Out.”
