Move over Master P, DJ Khaled might be the new Ice Cream Man. He has a refrigerator entirely dedicated to the frozen dessert.

As spotted on Page Six the producer recently went viral but not anything related to his business ventures. This week he shared some footage of him with his family while at his Miami mansion. His first born son Asahd Tuck Khaled asked for a treat thus the We The Best founder took him straight to the refrigerator. Upon opening the door a collection of different ice cream products ranging from sandwiches, cones, cookies, bars and several variations in boxes were unveiled. So much so it can only be compared the selection at a small to medium sized supermarket.

“Wow. Asahd which ice cream should I get?” DJ Khaled asked his son jokingly as he panned at the almost 70 options. “This right here is what I want.” He then spots the Oreo Ice Cream cones on the door panel (he takes two for personal by the way). Out of nowhere an unidentified hand comes into the picture and provides him a box of assorted FatBoy Ice Cream sandwiches to which he gives a look to but it is unclear whether or not he tripled up.
Naturally his snack inventory picked up traction on social media leaving many in shock on how good he has it. “Bro got a whole ice cream truck in there” one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Another said “When I die, I want to be reincarnated as DJ Khaled so I can enjoy this insane ice cream fridge (I have no idea how reincarnation works). A third fan wrote “I hate to see Dj Khaled living my dream.”

It seems the complaints behind McDonald’s ice cream machines have hit the fed’s radar. The DOJ has formally addressed their faulty equipment.

The Verge is reporting that the global fast food chain’s signature soft served dessert is the topic of discussion for the not only the United States Department Of Justice but also the Federal Trade Commission. On Thursday, March 14 both the agencies submitted a joint filing regarding the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. In essence the DMCA criminalizes any production, deviation and repairing of any copyrighted works.

The act covers all McDonald’s ice cream machines as they regard to as “commercial and industrial equipment.” These appliances are actually purchased from Taylor Products Inc., an ice cream equipment supplier based out of Edison, New Jersey thus they are the only party who can perform repairs on the machines. Furthermore, the technicians who are licensed to service the machines are few and far between. The DOJ’s submission asking that the DMCA be reviewed citing “renewing and expanding repair-related exemptions would promote competition in markets for replacement parts, repair, and maintenance services, as well as facilitate competition in markets for repairable products.”
According to Gizmodo restaurants lose an average of $625 dollars a day when their ice cream machines are inoperative. McDonald’s has yet to formally comment on the DOJ’s filing.

After making all kinds of moves in support of racial equality and social-political progress, Ben & Jerry’s is now facing calls for boycott after once again rubbing far-right Republicans, white supremacists and Trumpian MAGAs the wrong way with some cold hard facts.

According to Newsweek, early yesterday (July 4), Ben & Jerry’s official Twitter account sent out a “controversial” tweet in which they factually stated that America exists as a result of the genocide of its Indigenous Native Americans and that we “commit to returning it” to its rightful heirs. Naturally, the descendants of the colonizers who came to this land from a half-a-world away took issue with the statement and were quick to spew their hateful rhetoric online and demand that everyone stop buying the many delicious flavors of ice cream that Ben & Jerry’s has been blessing us with for the past 45 years.

Newsweek reports:

Ben & Jerry’s message generated a flood of negative responses on social media, with some calling it the company’s “Bud Light moment,” referring to controversy and subsequent boycott after the beer brand partnered with a transgender activist in April.
Other Twitter users called on the company to be the first to give up its profits and properties, including factories, buildings and stores. Others said that the company should be returning its factory land to the Abenaki people.
“Ok you start. Relinquish your headquarters,” one Twitter user wrote. “This should be easy then,” wrote another. “Shut down and donate all of your land, facilities, and assets to indigenous people.”
You first, MAGA.
Unfortunately, we’ve reached a point in time when if companies include or even speak up for people of color, LGBTQ, or any other minority group, they are bombarded with backlash and threats for daring to be so “liberal.” To make matters worse, the reactions seem to work as the far-right have resorted to real-world violence and intimidation to get their way.
After Target unveiled its LGBTQ apparel for this year’s Pride Month, stores all around the country were harassed with bomb threats while openly gay workers began to experience more hostility and aggression from anti-gay customers. Target decided to pull its LGBTQ merchandise to keep its stores and workers safe.

While we don’t know if violent Trumpians will begin to harass supermarket workers for carrying Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in the frozen section, we wouldn’t be surprised if many voicemails at the company office contain death threats and “pro-America” messages as that’s just how the right gets down these days.
What do y’all think of the backlash that Ben & Jerry’s is facing for their message? Let us know in the comments section below.
