New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has enlisted a pair of his celebrity friends to help spread the word about his family’s new multi-million dollar effort to fight back against an unprecedented wave of antisemitism in America.

People reported that the 81-year-old billionaire is investing $25 million in a multi-level campaign to fight antisemitism through his Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (FCAS), teaming up with the Patriots’ former QB legend, Tom Brady, as well as rapper Meek Mill to help spread word about their efforts.

The Foundation has been promoting stories about efforts to combat anti-Jewish hate on its social feeds and is launching a campaign with a blue square emoji that Kraft said he hopes will “educate all Americans” on the rise of hateful acts against Jewish Americans. “What’s happening in America today, it is a big part of my life,” Kraft told People. “There’s been work done that shows that 50% of Americans do not realize that antisemitism is any problem, and the Jewish population is roughly 2.4% of the population in the US but yet receives over 55% of the hate crimes.”

Kraft said the American Jewish community — which numbers approximately 7.6 million per most recent estimates — needs the help of “all Americans” to combat the highest level of antisemitism in the country in a quarter century; the ADL recently reported that antisemitic incidents increased 36% in 2022.

The Patriots owner said he’s already reached out to recently re-retired QB Brady about the blue emoji symbol in advance of the new campaign’s launch. “He and I are still very tight and he will be using this blue emoji when we kick off again,” Kraft said, noting that he hopes the emoji will become a “symbol of solidarity” that will help fight anti-Jewish hate and other forms of discrimination.

Mill — who has received funding from Kraft to build his REFORM Alliance to push for parole/sentencing/probation reform — is also on board with the team owner’s cause. In fact, People reported that Meek (born Robert Rihmeek Williams) will fly with Kraft to Poland next month, where the NFL boss will lead the this year’s annual March of the Living event that takes thousands of visitors on a walk between the remains of concentration camps in the country.

The billionaire said he wanted Meek to join him in Poland to “see what went on” in Holocaust death camps. “So when I tell you there are 15 million Jews in the world today, what happened 75, 80 years ago with the killing of 6 million, they would’ve represented 60, 70 million people today,” Kraft said. “And it is really horrible.”

Kanye West is returning to social media to share an update on his feelings toward Jewish people.

The rapper and fashion mogul, who now goes by Ye, shared a post on Instagram Friday (March 24) claiming that actor Jonah Hill’s performance in 21 Jump Street helped change his views about antisemitism.

“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again,” Ye wrote alongside a poster for the 2012 comedy, which also starred Channing Tatum. “No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people.”

The rapper added, “No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew. Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.”

Ye has mostly been absent from social media following a slew of antisemitic comments in late 2022.

After receiving backlash for wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt in October 2022 at Paris Fashion Week, Ye tweeted that he was going to go “death con 3” on Jewish people on Oct. 16. This began a string of hate-speech-filled interviews, which reached an even more disturbing level when he appeared on Alex Jones’ InfoWars and said “I see good things about Hitler,” among other hateful rhetoric.

In February, the Anti-Defamation League published a report tying Ye’s onslaught of anti-Jewish statements to 30 different incidents of “antisemitic incidents” in the past several months.

“These incidents — which include vandalism, banner drops, targeted harassment and campus propaganda distributions — demonstrate the ongoing influence of Ye’s conspiratorial, bigoted rants,” the report reads.

The ongoing controversy was also recently lampooned in the season 26 premiere of South Park, with Cupid Ye zooming around shooting hearts filled with antisemitism instead of love at various characters.

While the reveal of J-Hope‘s newest single “on the street” with J. Cole was coupled with the news that the BTS rapper-singer would begin the process for his South Korean military enlistment process, the song marked a full-circle moment for him both professionally and personally.

Before BTS even officially made their debut into the music industry, the members were showing their love and appreciation for J. Cole. One of the first musical moments with youngest member Jung Kook came via a J. Cole performance back in 2013, and the seven BTS members continued to share their admiration for the Dreamville Records founder. Whether it’s been covers, musical shoutouts, sharing lyrics or playlisting, BTS members J-Hope, RM, Suga, Jin, V, Jimin and Jung Kook shared their affection on multiple platforms. Meanwhile, Cole and his team also showed and returned that mutual respect.

Upon release of J-Hope’s “on the street” with J. Cole at the top of March this year, the song debuted at No. 60 on the Hot 100 to become J-Hope’s highest entry on the chart to date and marked J. Cole’s best showing since 2021. The track also gave J-Hope first entires on several of Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap charts, including his first No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales and second No. 1 on Rap Digital Song Sales. The dynamic duo spend a second week atop both those charts as well. Plus, “on the street” earned J-Hope his first entries on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts.

Beyond chart accomplishments, “on the street” shows two socially conscious and message-driven MCs coming together to collaborate in a way that highlighted the best of their separate but similar worlds. Read on for how Cole World and Hope World came together.

2013: RM & Jung Kook Reinterpret ‘Like a Star’

Released before BTS made their official debut, RM and Jung Kook’s rendition of J. Cole’s “Like a Star” was an early indication of Cole’s undeniable influence on the band. Shared more than four months before BTS would release their first album, the Feb. 2, 2013 adaptation of “Like a Star” was the first time BTS introduced Jung Kook to fans with a message describing him as the “golden maknae,” a nickname that’s stuck with him to highlight his skills as the group’s endlessly talented youngest member.

RM and JK’s “Like a Star” remains a streaming-only track today via SoundCloud.

2013: BTS Reinterpret J. Cole’s ‘Born Sinner’ as ‘Born Singer’

Less than a month after BTS made their official debut on the music scene, the group revealed “Born Singer,” an unofficial release on their YouTube and Soundcloud accounts on July 11, 2013. The track is adapted from J. Cole’s song “Born Sinner,” the title track and final song on the rapper’s sophomore album released five days after BTS’ debut on June 13, 2013. The track keeps the same production and composition as the original, but BTS rappers RM, Suga and J-Hope rewrote the lyrics.

While Cole’s “Born Sinner” was a dedication to doing better, “Born Singer” was BTS’ reflection on the hardships they felt in their first month after debut. From the start, the Bangtan Boys stood out from other pop stars by showcasing hip-hop as an ingrained musical and lyrical inspiration — which didn’t fit the K-pop industry standards at the time — making “Born Singer” one of their earliest underdog anthems.

2014: J. Cole Gets a Shout-Out on ‘Hip Hop Phile’

More than a year after BTS’ official debut, the group released their first studio album, Dark & Wild. While the LP included singles “Danger” and “War of Hormone,” the guys shared their hip-hop inspirations on fan-favorite b-side “Hip Hop Phile.” From shouting out hip-hop forefathers like Gang Star and Nas to the new generation of rappers like Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller, “Hip Hop Phile” naturally included a mention of J. Cole during J-Hope’s verse. J-Hope dedicated two lines of his verse to Cole: “Hope hope world/ Before I built my own world, there was Cole World.”

2014: RM Gains Inspiration From J. Cole’s ‘Love Yourz’

During a 2014 episode of Honey FM 06.13, BTS’ ongoing “radio show” that the group used to hold frequently, RM spoke about the inspiration and appreciation he had for J. Cole and the song “Love Yourz,” which was the last single off Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive LP. Not only did RM praise J. Cole as “Jay-Z’s successor,” but he shared how he particularly resonated with the lyrics of self-love and gratitude.

Some ARMY fans even thought this 2014 song might have inspired BTS’ Love Yourself album series from 2017-2018.

2015: RM Includes Two J. Cole Samples in Mixtape

For his first-ever mixtape, BTS leader RM (known back then by his Rap Monster stage name) utilized several samples from other artists’ songs like any classic mixtape. Ranging from J. Dilla and Drake to Major Lazer and Chase & Status, the RM mixtape samples mixed in a range of artists’ sounds as well as two J. Cole samples.

RM’s “Monster” contains the beat from Cole’s “Grown Simba” (a track J. Cole’s own 2009 mixtape that sampled “Overture: A Partial History of Black Music” by composer Mervyn Warren), while the track “God Rap” includes elements of “God’s Gift” (a Cole-produced cut off his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story).

“Monster” is available for streaming via BTS’ Soundcloud while “God Rap” is only available via downloading the tape via the BTS blog.

2016: J. Cole’s ‘Billboard’ Cover Featured in BTS’ Short Film

Only the most eagle-eyed of the ARMY would have spotted this little homage to J. Cole. As part of the lead-up to BTS’ record-setting Wings album, the band revealed “short film” videos to tease upcoming new tracks. In the first short film revealed featuring Jung Kook solo song “Begin,” viewers watch the youngest BTS member grapples with a bad dream that includes a vision of a burning piano. You can spot J. Cole’s Billboard magazine cover from 2013 glowing behind the fire on a door.

That particular cover story dropped right before Cole would release his seminal Born Sinner album, one of the primary inspirations to BTS and solidified him as a breakthrough chart star.

2016: RM Shares Lyrical Inspiration From J. Cole’s ‘Change’

As the leader of BTS, RM is famous for having the perfect words to share with fans through the years. But he leans on his idols at times too, sharing a line from J. Cole’s “Change,” a b-side from Cole’s 4 Your Eyez Only album released in December 2016, just before Christmas that year.

2017: Suga Adds J. Cole to His ‘Hip-Hop Replay’ Playlist

Alongside classics like Nas’ “N.Y. State of Mind” and The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Notorious Thugs,” plus new-age hip-hop anthems like Drake and Lil Wayne’s “HYFR,” BTS’ Suga was sure to show love to J. Cole by including “Work Out” on the wide-ranging “SUGA’s Hip-Hop Replay” playlist that used to live under BTS’ official Spotify account.

2017: BTS Begin Imagining a J. Cole Collaboration

By 2018, anyone who knew anything about BTS knew of the group’s admiration for J. Cole. Still, five years into their career, the guys started manifesting about working with their dream collaborator. In a Forbes interview around Love Herself: Her, RM listed rappers he’d like to collaborate with for a question. While first listing Dr. Dre and J. Cole before deciding there were “too many,” RM was sure to include that J. Cole was “one of the greatest,” adding, “He’s so cool.”

Taking inspiration from J. Cole’s first studio album Cole World: The Sideline Story, J-Hope’s first full solo project was named Hope World. The parallel between the two names would show up again years later.

2021-2022: J. Cole Approves Sample for Official ‘Born Singer’ Release

While BTS prepared for the release of their Proof anthology, including “Born Singer” on the career-spanning project required the OK from J. Cole himself. In an interview with Weverse Magazine, Suga revealed that Cole himself approved.

“I didn’t even know if it could be included on the album,” Suga said. “I wasn’t even sure it would be possible, since the original song is so famous, but J. Cole gave us permission. I want to tell him how grateful I am.”

Suga added that the song was essential to the group and they were excited for newer fans to hear it for the first time potentially.

“We just put it in since it wouldn’t be possible to listen back on this period of ours unless it was in a concert,” he said. “And there might be some ARMY who don’t even know that the song exists. We felt like a lot of who we are went into the song, so we unanimously agreed that it should be included.”

2022: J-Hope & Jimin Meet J.Cole at Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza 2022 was already historic with J-Hope as the first-ever Korean headliner, but the weekend festival became even more special when he linked up with J. Cole. Accompanied by bandmate Jimin, who was there to support the headliner, J-Hope shared photos from backstage at the Chicago fest with a massive smile as he hung out with Cole. J-Hope, J. Cole and Jimin all posed for a photo together.

J-Hope captioned his post simply with “hope world meets cole world,” referencing albums by both artists.

2022: J. Cole’s Team Share Excitement for ‘Born Singer’ on ‘Proof’

Once J. Cole gave his blessing for BTS to clear the “Born Sinner” sample for “Born Singer,” everyone was excited. In particular, the song’s co-writer James Fauntleroy, who also features on the track, shared on Instagram that seeing his name on the Proof album tracklisting was “insaaaaaane” and thanked BTS.

With three songs co-produced on Born Sinner alongside Cole, including “Born Sinner” and the TLC-featuring single “Crooked Smile,” Elite wrote on Instagram that “this is fkin crazy.”

Meanwhile, J. Cole manager and Dreamville president Ibrahim “IB” Hamad showed appreciation via Instagram Story when the tracklist dropped. “They got my name in a BTS album credits,” he wrote. “Off a song we made almost 10 years ago. Crazy. Shout out to BTS for the cover of ‘Born Sinner.’”

2023: J.Cole Describes J-Hope Collab as ‘A Blessing’

Ahead of the release of “on the street,” J-Hope and J. Cole secretly met to film the music video in New York City. In a behind-the-scenes video that BTS shared from the shoot, viewers saw J-Hope fanboy excitedly over the filming and J. Cole delivered mutual respect back to the K-pop star. Cole said the collaboration “is a blessing” and listened as J-Hope shared how he’s been a fan since his teens. Adorably, J-Hope arrived early and stayed on set to monitor J. Cole’s filming the entire time before the two came together for their joint scene.

2023: J-Hope & J. Cole Release Hit Collaboration

Announced as a special, one-off single for J-Hope, “on the street” was revealed to feature the group’s idol J. Cole to mark a genuinely full-circle moment for the star. The song came just as J-Hope shared that he would soon begin enlisting in South Korea’s mandatory military service, making the collaboration all the more momentous.

Migos fans should be pleased to know that Offset has a new record with Icewear Vezzo and his late bandmate/cousin Takeoff potentially on the way.

Earlier this week, Set teased the trunk-rattling track on his Instagram Stories, which drew elation from fans on social media. The 56-second snippet finds Vezzo and Takeoff exchanging bars before Offset bursts through the song with fiery lines of his own.

The path to Set’s sophomore album has been arduous. Last August, he sued his former label Quality Control to reclaim ownership of his solo material. Then, in November, he lost his cousin Takeoff, who was shot and killed in Houston, further delaying the album. He was also involved in a fistful of skirmishes, including a verbal spat online with J. Prince and allegedly feuding with his Migos bandmate Quavo at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Musically, Offset has released several one-off singles to keep fans intrigued. Last August, he released “5 4 3 2 1” before following up with “CODE” featuring MoneyBagg Yo. Offset’s 2019 debut album Father of 4 netted a top-five entry on the Billboard 200 with 89,000 album-equivalent units. The offering also spawned his triple-platinum single “Clout” featuring his wife, Cardi B.

On the posthumous side, this is the latest offering from Takeoff after fans first heard The Last Rocket MC on Metro Boomin’s Heroes and Villians standout “Feel the Fiyaaaah” featuring him and A$AP Rocky.

Controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was reportedly hospitalized on Tuesday (March 21) after an alleged attack inside a South Florida gym. According to WPTV, an attorney for the 26-year-old “Stoopid” MC born Daniel Hernandez said he was beaten up in a gym sauna by “three or four thugs.”

Lawyer Lance Lazzaro told the station that Hernandez suffered cuts to his face and bruises in the incident. “Employees heard the disturbance and the perpetrators fled,” Lazzaro said. “Police in South Florida were called and he [Hernandez] was transported via ambulance to a local hospital.”

At press time it was unclear what injuries Hernandez sustained and if he was still hospitalized. TMZ posted video of the alleged attack, in which an unidentified man can be seen punching and kicking Hernandez as the rapper struggles to evade the blows on the floor of what looks like a bathroom. Lazzaro told TMZ several men began attacking Hernandez — who did not have any security with him — without warning, with police and EMS responding to the scene before transporting the rapper to an undisclosed hospital.

The site posted pictures of Hernandez’s swollen, bloodied face and reported that he also suffered injuries to his back, ribs and jaw. At press time Lazarro could not be reached for comment on the incident. In the video, a bald man can be heard saying, “take a picture, I’m gonna be famous now,” as he grabs Hernandez by the hair while another man kicks him.

The unidentified person filming the video assures Hernandez “I’m a fan, homie,” as the rapper, his face dripping blood, exits the bathroom saying, “ya’ll jumped me, man.”

Speaking to TMZ, Lazarro said he is working on getting his client some protection given the rapper’s legal history; Hernandez was granted early release from federal prison in April 2020 following his arrest and sentencing to two years behind bars a year earlier on 9 charges, including drug trafficking, racketeering and firearms offenses tied to his involvement with the Nine Trey Bloods street gang. The rapper’s sentence was shortened after he cooperated with the feds in their cases against his former associates.

A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld Cardi B’s $4 million defamation verdict against a gossip blogger who made salacious claims on YouTube about drug use, STDs and prostitution.

In a five-page decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit rejected an appeal from Tasha K, who had claimed that the massive verdict against her was the result of “very lopsided presentation of evidence to the jury.”

The appeals court ruled that Tasha K (real name Latasha Kebe) had failed to properly make that argument to the trial judge, meaning she forfeited the right to do so before an appeals court.

“Defendant Latasha Kebe asks for a new trial, saying that there was insufficient evidence for the jury verdict against her,” the appeals court wrote. “But as she all but admits, she didn’t make either of the required post-verdict motions in the district court.”

Tasha’s attorneys had also argued that the judge overseeing the trial withheld key evidence that might have helped her beat Cardi’s accusations, but the Eleventh Circuit rejected that argument, too.

“She never tells us where in the 5500-page record the district court’s alleged errors can be found,” the appeals court wrote. “Because Kebe’s brief falls well short of what we require, she has abandoned this argument.”

Cardi B (real name Belcalis Almánzar) sued Tasha in 2019, over what the rapper’s lawyers called a “malicious campaign” on social media and YouTube aimed at hurting Cardi’s reputation. The star’s attorneys said they had repeatedly tried – and failed – to get her to pull her videos down.

One Tasha video cited in the lawsuit includes a statement that Cardi had done sex acts “with beer bottles on f—ing stripper stages.” Others videos said the superstar had contracted herpes; that she had been a prostitute; that she had cheated on her husband; and that she had done hard drugs.

Following a trial in January, jurors sided decisively with Cardi B, holding Tasha liable for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. They awarded more than $2.5 million in damages and another $1.3 million in legal fees incurred by the rapper. Judge William Ray later issued an injunction forcing her to pull the videos from the internet.

Tasha appealed that verdict last summer, arguing in her opening appellate brief that Judge Ray withheld key details from jurors and the verdict was the result of a “very lopsided” trial. She’s vowed to keep fighting the case “all the way to the Supreme Court if need be,” even if it “takes years” to do so.

Following Tuesday’s decision, a trip to the Supreme Court would be the procedural next step, but it’s unclear if Tasha will actually do so. The high court hears only a tiny fraction of the cases it is sent, and Tasha’s appeal does not likely present the kind of close questions that the justices typically want to tackle.

Tasha’s attorney did not return a request for comment on Tuesday’s ruling.

The status of the $4 million damages award is also unclear. In September, Cardi’s attorneys warned Judge Ray that Tasha might use the delay caused by her appeals to avoid paying.

“This is more than a hypothetical concern in this case,” attorney Lisa F. Moore and Cardi’s other lawyers at the time. “During the litigation, Kebe bragged publicly that she had taken steps to insulate herself from a judgment. And there have been recent online reports that Kebe has moved from Georgia to avoid enforcement of the judgment.”

A month later, Judge Ray ruled that Tasha would need to either immediately pay Cardi B, or secure a bond covering the entire amount while she appeals. It’s unclear if she ever did either.

In the immortal words of Snoop Dogg, you gotta pay the cost to be the boss. Or in Rick Ross‘ case, you gotta make sure your cattle behave-or you’ll be a bad neighbor. In case you missed the news earlier this week, some folks who live near Ross’ massive spread in Fayetteville, Georgia complained that a few of the buffalos in his Bawse herd had wandered off the property.

One even shared footage with TMZ of two animals who moseyed onto her property twice last week. In the clip, you can see the animals — who can weigh up to 2,000 pounds — walking through her front yard and grazing on grass near her driveway. The woman said she worried that they might hurt her children. But Ross — who was reportedly gifted the two animals by partners in his clothing company last year — said in an Instagram Story that everyone needs to chill and just reach into the crisper.

“Everybody that’s wanting a statement and a response for my bulls, my cows, a couple of buffaloes that got away in the community, this is my response,” Ross said in the Story. I always return stray animals. Make sure you always keep a collar on your animal. And mine don’t have a collar ’cause you know it’s mines.”

That seemed fair. After all, what other rich forever rappers in the area have massive livestock roaming across their 235-acre, 109-room house estate? To ease tensions, Ross suggested that if you see something, feed something.

“So when you see my buffalo, give it a carrot. Give it a apple,” he said. “They so kind, they so peaceful. Thank everybody for watching. Thank everybody for making sure all of my animals got back into the Promise Land. … All my neighbors, Fayetteville, y’all the best.”
