Halloween is upon us and the night full of fun and frights will be celebrated by more than those who decide to don a costume for the day. For the grownups out there looking to bring a boost to their night, we have our new 2024 Halloween cannabis gift guide to help.As I always do when I put together these guides, I need to stress that cannabis is meant for users over 21 years of age. I don’t encourage overindulgence nor do I think anyone should take the use of THC or CBD products lightly. For those of us with cultivated tastes, how we choose to approach the plant is a personal choice and we should sensibly imbibe just as we would with alcohol. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I wasn’t much into Halloween as a kid and much less so as an adult. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a good horror film or a haunted hay ride. Now well into my adulthood, cannabis figures prominently in my life and I will be taking part in some of my favorite treats of years past.In some ways, this guide is just as vital for me as it is for the reader as I plan on enjoying my favorite cannabis brands and products through Halloween and the coming weekend.Below, you’ll see some familiar brands and some new entries as well. Again, I say to those who choose to partake, please do so responsibly. We’ve got some more holidays to spend together.Happy Halloween to all.NOTE: This post will be updated through Halloween.

4. Betty’s Eddies

Source:Betty’s Eddies
I’ve sung the praises of Betty’s Eddies several times in these guides and I’m doing so again. Without a hint of hyperbole, these are the best-tasting edibles I’ve ever had.

5. Blazy Susan Aluminum Grinder

Source:Blazy Susan
We’ve featured Blazy Susan products quite a bit in our guides over the years and I can vouch for the quality of their accessories, most especially their pink rolling papers. They also have a beautiful grinder that will shine in your collection. Learn more here.

6. CBDistillery

Source:CBDistillery
CBDistillery specializes in CBD, the portion of cannabis that does not cause intoxication but has several purported benefits. What is great about the company is that they truly vet their products with top experts in the field, and they also have THC items.

7. CQ

Source:CQ
Some readers may be aware that I cover adult beverages too and sometimes, I want to sip something that isn’t booze. A brand like CQ would be perfect for those who want to sip their cannabis or take a break from alcohol. I also appreciate they have both a high and low-dose offering and are rolling out their new 2oz shots. The high-dose option is only available in select states so check the website. Learn more here.

8. DaVinci IQ3

Source:Davinci
DaVinci was founded in 2011 by Cortney Smith, inspired by the great inventor,  Leonardo da Vinci. I’ve used the brand’s IQC dry herb vaporizer and I loved the flavor and consistent hits it delivered. The IQ3 is an improvement from the previous model and seems to take all of the learning curves of the IQ series first established in 2016 while updating the experience.

9. Embarc Devil’s Lettuce Second Season

Source:Embarc
Embarc is a cannabis brand that makes me wish I lived in California because I love their approach to cannabis. For the second year in a row, Embarc dropped its Devil’s Lettuce lineup aimed at slamming the stigma of cannabis consumption and thumbing its nose at the whole “reefer madness” craze of the 20th Century.

10. Fable

Source:Fable
The booze-free life isn’t one I’m living just yet but if I do, I’ll be drinking a lot more cannabis. Fable is another brand that’s entering the sippable cannabis space and doing so while bringing something new to the non-alcoholic drinking space. The brand has a new seasonal flavor, cran-blood orange, and it’s very fire. Available for shipping nationwide. Learn more here.

11. GALYNA

Source:GALYNA
The intersection of skincare and cannabis hasn’t been something I’ve examined much in my coverage but GALYNA certainly piqued my interest. The topical application of CBD isn’t new,  but the brand is serious about providing benefits using well-researched data and science to bring their product to market.

12. G Pen

Source:G Pen
G Pen gets a lot of love around these parts and their selection of both dry herb and concentrates vaporizers are affordable, versatile, and portable. They also have dope collaborations with Mike Tyson, B-Real of Cypress Hill fame, Cookies, and The Grateful Dead.

13. Hippy Feet

Source:Hippy Feet
Hippy Feet is a frequent feature in our gift guides because of their work with unhoused youth and other community activities. Half of the profits earned by Hippy Feet go towards those organizations aimed at giving back to organizations that do good work on the ground. Check out their Cannabis Crews socks. We’ve got the set and we love them.

17. Muha Meds

18. Puffco Pivot

Source:Puffco
I didn’t get a Halloween pitch from my friends at Puffco but there isn’t any beef. I’m such a fan of the brand that I did my due diligence and discovered they have a new portable dab pen, the Pivot. I haven’t used it but if it’s anything like the company’s other high-tech offerings, I already know it’s going to be a big seller.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are going down the rabbit hole this Halloween.
On Saturday (Oct. 26), the “Single Soon” singer took to social media to show off photos of her and boyfriend Blanco’s whimsical Alice in Wonderland-inspired costumes.

“Curiouser and curiouser..,” the Only Murders in the Building star captioned the gallery on Instagram.

In the snapshots, the Rare Beauty founder, 32, appears in a blonde wig and light blue dress as Alice and the music producer and songwriter, 36, is decked out in full makeup as Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s 2010 movie adaptation of the book.

“my prosthetics r giving handsome squidward meets longlegs,” Blanco wrote in the comments section of Gomez’s post.

Trending on Billboard

The couple also shared more snapshots of their impressive fantasy outfits on their Instagram Stories. Gomez posted a clip from Disney’s 1951 animated film version of Alice in Wonderland, which closely resembled her Halloween outfit. And Blanco shared short videos from what appeared to be a Halloween party.

One of his Instagram Story posts show a video of Gomez seated at a table while the two are eating dinner. “It’s a video,” he says to Gomez, who seemingly thinks she’s posing for a photo. “Why do you always do that to me?” she replies with a smile.

The couple has been dating for more than a year now, with Gomez announcing their relationship in December and revealing that they’d been dating for six months at that point. Before upgrading to her necklace, the pop star often wore a letter “B” ring on her finger.

Before they got together, Blanco and Gomez were friends and collaborators. In 2019, they teamed up with Tainy and J Balvin for the song “I Can’t Get Enough” — as referenced in the producer’s adorable birthday post for his girlfriend this year — and Blanco worked on the pop star’s 2023 hit “Single Soon.”

“It’s crazy how your partner could just be sitting there the whole time, right in front of your eyes, and you don’t even notice,” Blanco marveled to the Wall Street Journal earlier this year. “And then you have that Clueless moment where you’re like, ‘Wait, I’m in love.’”

Lizzo is officially kicking off Halloween 2024 with a creative new costume.
On Saturday (Oct. 25), the pop-rap sensation took to Instagram to showcase her self-described “LizzOzempic” outfit, inspired by a recent episode of South Park.

“Ok Halloween… you can start now,” Lizzo captioned a faux advertisement featuring herself alongside a mock prescription box for a weight loss drug.

The South Park episode, titled “The End of Obesity,” aired in May and comically critiqued the Ozempic trend, using Lizzo as an alternative to the popular medication. In the episode, Eric Cartman visits his doctor seeking Ozempic for weight loss. When he learns he can’t afford it, the doctor prescribes an unconventional solution: “I’m going to write you a prescription for Lizzo. She’s a really good singer who talks about body positivity,” he says. “I want you to listen to Lizzo five times a day and watch her videos before bed. I’m afraid you’ll have to be on Lizzo for the rest of your life.”

In another post showing off the Halloween getup, Lizzo clapped back at South Park by dancing to the show’s jingle and flipping off the camera. “Oh OH oh… it’s Lizzo b—,” she captioned the clip, which also included a Cartman cut out in the background.

Trending on Billboard

The “About Damn Time” hitmaker also shared a clip of herself dancing next to someone wearing an inflatable Cartman costume. “It’s that time of year where I feed y’all so ridiculously, and you’re so very welcome, baby,” she captioned the video, soundtracked by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ “APT.”

When the South Park episode originally aired, Lizzo reacted on TikTok, expressing her surprise. “That’s crazy. I just feel like, damn, I’m really that b—-,” she said. “I showed the world how to love yourself, and now these men in Colorado know who the f— I am and put it in their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years.”

Lizzo has donned numerous imaginative Halloween costumes over the years, including outfits based on Tina Turner, Marge Simpson and Baby Yoda, among others.

With Billboard Hot 100 hits like “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Union of the Snake,” “New Moon on Monday” and “A View to a Kill,” Duran Duran’s catalog is frighteningly fitting for spooky season. So in 2022, when the English quartet found itself playing a Halloween-night gig in Las Vegas ahead of its induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the band decided to don costumes, sprinkle in seasonally appropriate covers and embrace the darkness.
The show was successful enough to inspire the band’s 2023 album, Danse Macabre, a top 10 hit on the Top Album Sales chart. With an expanded version of the album out now, the veterans — who have grossed $118.6 million and sold 1.8 million tickets since 1987, according to Billboard Boxscore — are set to play a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Oct. 31 that keyboardist Nick Rhodes promises “will be entirely different than any other Duran Duran show you will ever see.”

Is Halloween as big in the United Kingdom?

Trending on Billboard

We don’t celebrate it in such grand style as you do in America. I remember the first time I came to America was over the Halloween period. I literally thought, “Wow, they’re so far ahead of us. Why don’t we have these giant blow-up things outside our houses? Why can’t bats be 20 feet wide?” I love the sense of fun, the absurdity and that everybody gets to be a villain for a day.

The deluxe Danse Macabre has “New Moon (Dark Phase),” a moodier take on one of your classics; a cover of ELO’s “Evil Woman”; and “Masque of the Pink Death,” which I’m guessing is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe.

I’ve always been a great admirer [of Poe]. We grew up in England in the ’70s, where Hammer horror movies on [TV on] a Friday night, whether it was a Dracula or a mummy movie, were the thing you looked forward to all week. Plus, [I love] Tim Burton’s great contribution to everyone who loves goth. Those things shape the way you feel about life and the possibilities creatively. That’s what makes artists unique — their influences and the different areas they take from, even if it’s subliminal.

The Madison Square Garden show will be your second Halloween-themed concert. Do you see this becoming a tradition?

I don’t know. It’s a lot of work for one show. But Madison Square Garden just happened to be available, and New York is such a good place to be for Halloween. It was irresistible. We are going to make it something unusual and special. It won’t be like a regular show at all. The fans in Europe have been writing in already saying, “When are you going to do one in Europe? This is the second one in America; that’s not fair.” I sympathize with that. We always like to try to balance things, so maybe [we’ll do] one in Europe next year.

You have several other U.S. shows this fall beyond MSG. Will Halloween elements work their way into those?

I suspect some of them will feature a few bits that we’re preparing for Halloween. We didn’t think we’d be back in America this year, but when we decided to do the Halloween one, we slotted some more in. I rather like that way of working. For many years, we haven’t been a band that announces big world tours and ends up on the road for 18 months. But we do seem to play a lot of shows. We just add them when we want to, and somehow the chaos is working.

This story appears in the Oct. 26, 2024, issue of Billboard.

Halloween is just around the corner, and that means celebrities will be pulling out all the tricks and treats to impress fans with their costume choices. Over the years, A-listers have proven their passion for the holiday by showing off impressive costumes, embodying their favorite characters, creepy-crawly creatures and more with wigs, custom outfits and […]
