Grand Theft Auto 6’s 2025 date release could be in danger.
According to a Kotaku report, Grand Theft Auto 6, the next highly anticipated installment in the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise, could have its wig pushed back.
GTA 6 is still slated for an “early 2025” release date, but that date is in jeopardy due to “production delays.” The game could be released in late 2025 or sometime in 2026.
Per Kotaku:
As remote workers struggle with an unwanted return-to-office mandate from Rockstar Games, Kotaku has learned from sources with knowledge of the game’s development process that GTA 6 could miss its 2025 release window and slip into 2026.

Kotaku has also learned that it’s becoming more and more likely that the sequel might not land until late 2025. It’s also possible that it could even slip into 2026 as production reportedly falls behind.
While security and quality are reportedly the main reasons Rockstar is instituting the mandate to return to the office, I was told by sources—who wish to remain anonymous to avoid possible retaliation—that development on GTA 6 has started “falling behind.” I’m told this has leadership at Rockstar nervous and worried about the game missing the 2025 window and slipping into 2026, and is another big reason the company is pushing for a return to the office in April.

Is Rockstar Games Pushing Out Remote Workers?
Kotaku’s report comes after Bloomberg’s report that Rockstar Games was ending remote work, ordering employees back to the office following numerous leaks.
The drastic change was met with immediate criticism and caught many by surprise, leading to frustration. According to Aftermath’s reporting, some employees initially hired to work remotely felt like they were being pushed out of the company by not complying and completely upending their lives.
Some workers expressed concern to Aftermath that Rockstar Games was reverting back to its old crunch ways.
“We’re concerned about going back to that,” one Rockstar employee told Aftermath.
“I’ve been through a couple of projects, both of which had crunch. The first one was extremely difficult. I had way less gray hair back then. … We want to continue the strides we’ve made as a company to remove that toxic culture.”
Gamers also react to the news that they may have to wait even longer for GTA 6.
Some want Rockstar Games to take its time with the game, others don’t want the developers to experience crunch, and some are just overwriting; it’s been about 11 years.
You can see those reactions in the gallery below.

Another day, more stolen data from a respected video game developer has leaked.
*HHW Gaming will not be providing any links to any of the hacked material.*
Spotted on Insider Gaming, the mega hack that saw over 100 GB of stolen data last still haunts Rockstar Games.
Reports began to surface Christmas night that GTA V’s source code leaked in full, along with the Python code for GTA 6 and numerous files from the scrapped Bully 2 game.

Per Insider Gamning:
Until now, transactions were reportedly being held behind closed doors, with key data such as GTA 5’s source code, stolen by a teenager in a hotel room with a mobile device last year, changing hands in secret.
It has now been shared online, according to recent screenshots.

Not only that but it has also been claimed that every file relating to Bully 2 – the follow-up to 2008’s Bully – has also been leaked. In another screenshot that is floating around, fresh Python code from GTA 6 has also been revealed, along with some early, conceptual materials from GTA 5, such as an original rendition of the game’s map.
The leaks of GTA V’s source code are concerning because they could lead to the creation of “highly sophisticated cheats,” according to the website’s report.
More News From The Rockstar Games Hack
That wasn’t the only thing to come from the hack; leaked source code revealed plans for eight pieces of DLC for GTA V that Rockstar Games decided not to release due to the popularity of GTA Online and work on next-gen versions of the game.
The names of the reported DLC include:

‘SP Assassination Pack’
‘SP Manhunt Pack’
‘SP Norman Pack’
‘Agent Trevor’
‘Relationship Pack’
‘Enterprise Pack’
‘Prologue DLC’
‘LibertyV DLC’

This latest news also comes on the heels of reports that the young teenager responsible for the hack was sentenced to life in a hospital prison.
Oh, and the big Insomniac Games hack also released stolen material after PlayStation, and the video game studio did not pay the ransom demand.
We hope that in 2024, the leaks will come to an end.

In more GTA 6 news, people are complaining about the highly-anticipated game having a female protagonist, while some are BIG MAD about the game’s content.
GTA 6 is not nearly hitting shelves yet, but there is plenty of discourse around the game’s first trailer. While most people, including LeBron James, were blown away by how damn good it looks, there is a sect of people claiming the franchise has gone “woke” because it will have a female protagonist for the first time.

The news of the game featuring a female protagonist isn’t new. Still, for whatever reason, after the trailer was viewed over an astounding 107 million times, sexist gamers are fuming at the idea of having to commit crimes with a woman.
“If the story is well written then kudos but to me this is just another dumb woke pointless thing because which woman cares about gta 6. Trying to appease the wrong crowd,” one X user ridiculously wrote.

Another X user added, “woman in gta 6??? more like wokestar studios…….”

Andrew & Tristan Tate Even Had Something To Say
Now, it wouldn’t be a GTA news cycle if there weren’t people also making a big stink about the mature content in the game. On a recent episode of their toxic podcast, Andrew and Tristan Tate spoke about the game allowing kids to shoot cops, which is honestly hilarious because these are the last two people who should be talking.
Keep in mind the Tate Brothers are currently under house arrest and are facing years in a Romanian prison for numerous allegations, including human trafficking.
Also hilarious is Andrew Tate admitting he has never played a Grand Theft Auto game, and his brother only played the classic top-down version from the 90s.
“Video games aren’t necessarily evil,” Tristan told his brother, adding, “I’m not a fan of anyone under the age of 18, 21 maybe, playing video games where the goal is to shoot police officers.” Tristan had the nerve to give the developers at Rockstar Games advice saying, “I feel like they could put a better objective into these games. Maybe you are a police officer, maybe you are trying to stop criminals.”

Honestly, we wouldn’t be shocked if the developers somehow made fun of these two bozos like they do the other real-life cultural moments.
GTA 6 arrives on PS5, Xbox Series S | X  consoles in 2025. There is currently no PC version in the works. You can see more reactions in the gallery below.

GTA 6 trends on X, formerly known as Twitter, almost every month, and usually, it’s for no good reason. Well, that finally changed last night, and gamers have a reason to be very excited.
It’s happening, it’s finally happening. After years of silence and one massive leak, Rockstar Games is ready to unveil Grand Theft Auto IV, promising to share a trailer of the highly anticipated game.
The news was first revealed via bombshell exclusive reporting from Bloomberg’s Jason Scheirer, and it was officially confirmed with a post on X from Rockstar Games, who is notoriously quiet about upcoming projects.
“We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you,” said Rockstar Games president Sam Houser.

Leading up to this long-awaited day, word on the video game streets is that GTA 6 would feature its first female protagonist and will be influenced by Bonnie and Clyde while possibly returning to Vice City, Grand Theft Auto’s fictional spin on Miami.
It’s been no secret that Rockstar Games has been working on GTA 6 while continuing to add content to Grand Theft Auto Online, which launched alongside Grand Theft Auto V, which astonishingly came out in 2013 and has lived on three console generations.
GTA V is also one of the most profitable pieces of entertainment, bringing in more cash than any film or book since.
So, it should come as no shock that Rockstar Games took its sweet time making GTA IV.
Gamers Can Finally Rest: GTA 6 Is No Longer A Rumor
As expected, the video game world has been beaming with excitement at the news, knowing they are going to the first official look at Grand Theft Auto 6.
“No more GTA 6 rumors, we can finally rest,” one person said on X.
“The GTA 6 reveal rumours are finally over,” Tom Henderson tweeted.
We will be sharing that news when it officially drops. Until then, you can peep more reactions in the gallery below.
