RZA is always good for making eye-opening statements. He thinks his fellow Clan member GZA is the greatest MC of all time.

As spotted on HipHopDX, RZA was a recent guest on the Drink Champs podcast. The Abbott discussed his extensive journey in music and dropped several gems about the Wu-Tang Clan, how some of their biggest records came together, making movies and more. During the “Quicktime With Slime” segment, where guests are asked to choose between two options, NORE asked RZA to choose between Nas and GZA. To which he responded “In which way? They’re both very powerful brothers.” While the choice wasn’t an easy one RZA went on to further explain why Genius is the obvious pick for him. “For MC-ing, my favorite, best MC is the GZA. I don’t think no MC could beat the GZA. I think what GZA has written for Hip-Hop, no other MC can compare.”

To hear RZA tell it, GZA’s influence on the culture is greater than what any other rapper has contributed. “Even if you go look at Rakim, who is one of the greatest, to most people, one of the greatest. Nas is one of the greatest. If you go look at what GZA offered to Hip-Hop, look at what he spawned. He spawned me, Meth, Rae, Ghost — these are all from GZA, the enlightener.” RZA went on to add that “what the Wu offered lyrically is what no one has mastered yet.”

GZA is RZA and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s cousin. According to RZA’s book The Wu-Tang Manual, GZA taught RZA how to rap. He would later serve as the group’s unofficial leader. You can see RZA discuss his thoughts on why GZA is the GOAT MC below.

Jim Jones is never short on hot takes. He has doubled down on his thoughts regarding Pusha T not being deserving on being on Rap’s GOAT list.

As spotted Complex the Harlem, New York native is not backing down from any Hip-Hop rankings smoke. Earlier this year Billboard Magazine released their “50 Greatest Rappers of All Time” list. In they slotted the Clipse member at 29. While most tastemakers and media outlets did not blink at Brick Flair’s placement Jim questioned him being in the top 50 talks on an interview with Rap Caviar. “He’s nice as sh*t. He could rap his ass off, but what has he done?” he asked. “I don’t know too many n****s in this game that was leaning towards being like Pusha T. Pusha T don’t hold no weight out here. He not pushing no sh*t out here.”

Last week CAPO paid a visit to The Breakfast Club. While he discussed a variety of topics the hosts got him to clarify his original stance.  “I don’t think Pusha T will reach out to me, I’m not the type of person you’re gonna reach out to about my opinion,” he said when asked by Charlamagne about his original take. “I ain’t cool with him like that. I know him to say, ‘What’s up?’ Give him a pound, you dig? I wasn’t trying to diss him. They asked me a question… My phone ain’t the line to be calling.” As the conversation between the trio progressed Jim went on to pose some questions to DJ Envy directly. “Could you name five Pusha T records?” he asked “No. Could you rap to five Pusha T records?”
Jim Jones went on to further clarify that while his opinion doesn’t hold the “Mercy” rapper in that regard; he isn’t a hater. Shoutout to Pusha T, I love your soul,” he explained. “You my dawg. You not in my top 50. You might be in Charlamagne’s top 50 and things like that, but you haven’t done that much for me in my life. I didn’t never want to be like Pusha, I never had a Pusha moment in my life.”

Jim Jones is never short on opinions. In a new interview he claims that Drake should be considered the GOAT.

As spotted on Complex the Harlem, New York native recent chat with Rap Caviar podcast he discussed his new album with Hit Make Back In My Prime. While promoting his newest effort he also discussed a bevy of other topics including who he thinks is the greatest of all time. When Kev assumed his GOAT pick was Jay-Z CAPO was quick to correct him. “I can’t agree on that. … [Jay is] at the top of the barrel when it comes to what he’s done” he explained. “He’s a billionaire, he has done some sh*t for dope boys that people never even thought could be. He’s put himself in rooms that you couldn’t imagine.”

The Diplomats member when on to justify why he feels Drake is more impactful. “I haven’t heard too much Jay-Z music in the last six to seven years that was really hitting out here in these streets on the lit side of things,” he stated. “In the past 12 years everything that Drake has put out has hit like 2Pac was hitting. No matter if you like it. No matter if n****s don’t like it cause he’s light-skinned, no matter if n****s don’t like it cause he’s singing… No matter what n****s like, he always seems to be in these n****s’ playlists.”
