After gaining six new top 10 showings across Billboard charts, including two No. 1s, with “Where She Goes,” Bad Bunny extends his winning streak as the song rises to No. 2 on the Latin Airplay chart (dated Aug. 5). It concurrently lands at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay.
On Latin Airplay, “Where She Goes” surges 20-2 as the Greatest Gainer of the week with 9 million in audience impressions, that’s a 70% gain from the week prior. Bad Bunny unseats one of his own from the runner-up slot as “Un X100to,” with Grupo Frontera dips 2-6 with a 6% decline in audience impressions (to 8.2 million).

The song’s biggest supporters for the week includes SBS’s KXOL (Los Angeles), Univision’s WVIV (Chicago) and KQMR (Phoenix), and Grupo Radio Centro KAMA (Houston).

With “Where She Goes,” Benito banks his 26th top 10 on Latin Airplay, tying with Maluma for the seventh-most among Latin rhythm acts since the chart launched in 1994. Here’s the top 10 recap:

Further, the new Latin Airplay top 10 follows two chart commands: “Where She Goes” gifted Bad Bunny a third ruler on the Billboard Global 200 and his 14th champ on Latin Digital Song Sales, both on the June 3-dated rankings. On the latter, Benito extends his second-most record, trailing only Shakira’s 15 No. 1s.Plus, as mentioned, “She Goes” now dominates Latin Airplay in its 10th week. Let’s look at the song’s achievements across the charts:

Rauw Alejandro’s Playa Saturno album blasts in at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart (dated July 22), his sixth straight top 10 which encompasses all of his charting efforts.
Playa Saturno, the Puerto Rican’s fourth-studio album, is the follow-up to his retro-futuristic No. 2-peaking Saturno, released in Nov. 2022; Saturno holds solidly on the tally at No. 15 in its 35th week.

Playa dropped via Duars/Sony Music Latin on July 7, the first day of the chart’s tracking week. According to Luminate, it launches with a little over 21,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. during its first week of activity ending July 13.

As with Rauw’s preceding three studio efforts, streaming fuels nearly all the set’s opening sum. The 21,000 streaming-equivalent album units equals to 27.5 million official on-demand clicks for the songs on the album, while the remaining balance is a negligible sum comprising album sales and track-equivalent album units.

Playa’s 27.5 million official on-demand streams improves on Rauw’s streaming performance as Saturno registered 25.6 million official streams in its first week. Among his chart entrances, including the No. 6-peaking Track Cake, Vol. 2 EP, the two-week album champ Vice Versa, continues to lead with 29.1 million U.S. clicks during its debut week (July 2021).

As mentioned, Rauw collects his sixth straight top 10 album, dating back to his maiden visit, Concierto Virtual En Tiempos de Covid-19, which reached No. 10 in Sept. 2020.

Further, Rauw’s four studio albums simultaneously rank in the top 30 on Top Latin Albums (Playa at No. 4, Saturno at No. 15, Vice Versa at No. 19, and Afrodisiáco at No. 29), the second-most among Latin rhythm artists after Bad Bunny, who’s placed as many as six top 30 albums throughout different chart weeks.

Playa’s entrance extends to the airplay, digital sales, and streaming data-fused Hot Latin Songs chart, where three songs from the album debut: “Picardía,” with Junior H, at No. 42; “Cuando Baje El Sol” at No. 45; and “Al Callao’” at No. 48. Plus, the album was preceded by one track: “Baby Hello,” with Bizarrap, which rises to its No. 32 high on the current tally.

Beyond its top five launch on Top Latin Albums, Playa Saturno also makes its way to two other albums charts: a No. 3 bow on Latin Rhythm Albums, and No. 29 start on the all-genres Billboard 200.

Yng Lvcas and Peso Pluma achieve their first No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay chart as “La Bebe” advances from No. 2 to lead the list dated June 24. It’s the first team-up where both artists secure their first champ in 2023, and the first since Bizarrap and Quevedo led with “Bzrp Music Sessions, […]

Marshmello claims his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart with the Manuel Turizo collab “El Merengue,” which advances to the summit of the list dated June 10.
“El Merengue” jumps from No. 2 despite a 5% dip in audience impressions, to 10.4 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending June 1, according to Luminate. It ousts Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s “Un x100to” after its three-week command, sending it to No. 2, likewise with a decline on weekly impressions (falls 11% to 10.36 million).

As “Merengue” tops Latin Airplay, Marshmello becomes the first artist unfamiliar to the Latin genre to occupy the top slot in 2023. Congolese French singer and rapper Gims (born Gandhi Alimasi Djuna) last completed the deed as “Arhbo (Music From The FIFA World Cup Quatar 2022),” with Ozuna, took over Latin Airplay for three weeks last December.

Further “Merengue” is just the second tropical tune to lead the overall tally this year, after Romeo Santos and Rosalia’s “El Pañuelo” headed the Feb. 25-dated ranking.

Turizo, meanwhile, cements his airplay No. 1 growth with six champs spanning almost six years. Previously, the Colombian topped Latin Airplay with another tropical track: “La Bachata” (one week in October 2022).

Beyond its Latin Airplay coronation, “Merengue” wins a second term at its No. 5 high on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs in its 13th week in the top 10, encompassing its entire run in the chart so far.

Bad Bunny Keeps Going

Elsewhere on the Latin charts, Bad Bunny collects his 28th top 10 on Latin Rhythm Airplay as “Where She Goes” soars 20-9, the biggest climb in 2023 so far. The song flies with an 88% gain in audience impressions, to 4 million, during the same period, the biggest percentage increase of the week.

As “Goes” enters the upper region on Latin Rhythm Airplay, Bad Bunny picks up his 28th top 10, the eight-most since the chart launched in 2005.

The song also makes its first chart visit on Latin Airplay, at No. 26.

Over on Latin Streaming Songs, “Goes” holds at its No. 2 high despite a 30% dip in weekly streams. It logged 16.3 million official U.S. streams, 7 million less than the week prior. That yields a 7-3 tumble on the overall Streaming Songs list.

Carin León secures his first top 10 on any Billboard albums chart thanks to the dual debut of Colmillo de Leche on both the Top Latin Albums and Regional Mexican Albums charts (dated June 3). The 18-track studio effort bows at No. 10 on the former, while on the latter it launches at No. 5.
Colmillo de Leche also marks León’s first entry on an albums tally, dating back to “Me La Aventé,” his maiden entry on a Billboard chart, in 2019 (the song reached No. 16 high on Hot Latin Songs in 2020.) The set, a gumbo of sounds bookended by León’s regional Mexican imprint –blends soul, flamenco, salsa and pop– was released May 18 via Socios/Oplaai. The new entry also secures a first top 10 and entry for both independent labels.

In its first tracking week ending May 25, Colmillo registered 7,000 equivalent album units, according to Luminate. Streaming-equivalent album units contributes to the bulk of activity, which equates to 10.1 million official U.S. on-demand streams of the album’s songs. Track-equivalent album units, meanwhile, account for the negligible units left.

On the multimetric Top Latin Albums chart, each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.

Notably, Colmillo marks the fifth instance a regional Mexican album debuts in the upper region on Top Latin Albums out of the nine total top 10s debuts during 2023 so far. Here’s the regional Mexican recap:

Debut Date, Debut Pos., Title, Artist

Jan. 14, 2023, 5, Pa Que Hablen.: I., Fuerza Regida

Jan. 14, 2023, 6, Sigan Hablando.: II., Fuerza Regida

May 27, 2023, 9, Don’t Stop The Magic, Grupo Marca Registrada

June 3, 2023, 10, Colmillo de Leche, Carin León

As mentioned, Colmillo also arrives in the top 10 on Regional Mexican Albums, at No. 5.

The album was preceded by the No. 30-peaking “No Es Por Acá” on Hot Latin Songs last October. In between, León has placed three other songs (outside of Colmillo) on Regional Mexican Airplay, including a six-week domination through “Que Vuelvas,” with Grupo Frontera.

Following a four-fold win across Billboard charts, Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola” finds the No. 1 spot on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart as it jumps 2-1 to lead the May 27-dated ranking. The single ousts Los Angeles Azules’ “Tú y Tú,” with Cazzu and Santa Fe Klan, after the latter’s one-week […]

Ke Personajes, Big One and FMK rule the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart for third week, as their first partnership, “Un Finde: Big One Crossover #2,” holds atop the ranking dated May 6. It’s the third song to rule the tally for at least three weeks in 2023, after Bizarrap and Shakira’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, […]

Alejandro Fernández adds his 22nd top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart as “Inexperto en Olvidarte” climbs 13-5 on the April 29-dated list. Notably, it’s the first song he’s recorded in his long career that was written by two women: Amanda Coronel and Fernanda Díaz.
“Inexperto en Olvidarte” was released Jan. 6 via Universal Music Latino/UMLE, and breaks the top 10 barrier on the all-genre chart in its 13th week with a 27% gain in audience impressions, to 8 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending April 20, according to Luminate.

The mariachi tune follows another top 10 entry, “Nunca Dudes En Llamarme” with La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho, which peaked at No. 8 in September. “Inexperto en Olvidarte” however, marks Fernández’s first top 10 as a soloist, unassisted by any other act, since “Te Olvidé’ reached the upper echelon reaching No. 7 high in May 2020.

In total, Fernández, has amassed a total of 22 top 10s, dating back to his first entry and top 10 “A Pesar de Todo” in 1994. Further, “Inexperto” becomes his best ranking since the two-week ruler “Caballero” (Jan. 2020).

With 22 top 10s on his chart account, Fernández ties with La Arrolladora, his last top 10 collaborator, for the sixth-most top 10s among reginal Mexican acts since Latin Airplay launched in 1994. Here’s a look at the scoreboard:

27, Marco Antonio Solis

26, Calibre 50

23, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizarraga

23, Banda MS de Sergio Lizarraga

23, Intocable

22, Alejandro Fernández

22, La Arrolladora Banda el Limon de Rene Camacho

As mentioned, “Inexperto” was written by two female songwriters, Amanda Coronel and Fernanda Díaz, who had collaborated prior through a Carin León track.

It concurrently returns Díaz to the top 10 on Latin Airplay: Regulo Caro’s No. 5-peaking “Cicatrices,” co-written with two other songwriters, gifted her a first top 10 in 2016 — she has placed two other top 30 tracks on the tally.

With “Inexperto,” Coronel, meanwhile, bests her previous No. 25 high entry as a songwriter also through a Caro track, “Piénsalo Bien” in 2019.

Further, “Inexperto” pushes up Regional Mexican Airplay, jumping from No. 4 to its new No. 3 peak.

Marshmello captures his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart with “El Merengue,” his collaboration with Manuel Turizo. The new champ climbs 2-1 on the chart dated April 8 and sends “La Bachata,” another one of Turizo’s songs to No. 2 after 14 weeks in charge.

Turizo becomes the first artist to replace himself at No. 1 since Marc Anthony achieved the feat as “Un Amor Eterno” dethroned “De Vuelta Pa La Vuelta,” with Daddy Yankee, in March 2021.

EDM DJ and producer Marshmello secured his first entry on any Latin chart when “El Merengue” debuted at No. 4 on the March 18-dated ranking. Now, he scores his first leader as the song rises with a 6% gain in audience impressions, to 7.5 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending March 30, according to Luminate.

“El Merengue” is the second song from Turizo’s third studio album, 2000, to top Tropical Airplay. The album debuted and peaked at No. 11 on Top Latin Albums (chart dated April 1) and earned him his third top 10 on Latin Rhythm Albums.

As mentioned, “La Bachata” rose to No. 1 in its 10th week where it remained for 14 nonconsecutive weeks.

The Colombian picks up his third straight No. 1 among three career appearances. His first offering arrived through his featured turn on Piso 21’s “Déjala Que Vuelva” which topped the chart for two weeks in 2018.

Elsewhere, “El Merengue” jumps 25-24 on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart with a 5% gain in streams. The track logged 3 million official U.S. streams.
