NMIXX Shares Their Favorite Song to Perform & More | Fishing for Answers | Billboard

NMIXX plays ‘Fishing for Answers’ and they share the wildest show they’ve performed, why they love “Run for Roses” and more!

NMIXX:

Hi, we are NMIXX, and we’re here with Billboard ‘Fishing for Answers.’ What is the wildest show you’ve ever performed? I would say when NMIXX went to Mexico to perform at CAREFEST, I think the crowd had such an amazing energy, and we did a cover of “Despacito,” and the crowd really liked that. So that was a good memory for me. What’s your biggest fear? Now. She says now because she’s so nervous to speak English, however she’s very happy. Yeah. When was the first time in your career you thought, “I’ve made it.” Our first concert. Zendaya. I agree.  What’s your favorite song to perform and your least favorite song to perform? “Run for Roses.” I agree. Yeah. You really suit that song. I really like this choreography. And I think “Run for Roses.” It’s long and it’s quite difficult. What has been your favorite destination? Here in Miami, it’s very beautiful. The beaches! This has been NMIXX.

Fidel of Grupo Marca Registrada Plays ‘Fishing for Answers’ | Billboard

Fidel Oswaldo Castro from Grupo Marca Registrada shares the moment he knew his life changed, his fears and more!

Fidel Oswaldo Castro:

Hello, how are you friends? I am your friend from the Marca Registrada Group, and on this occasion we are going to play ‘Fishing for Answers’ with Billboard. What is your biggest fear? My biggest fear, really, is losing my family. I think it’s my biggest fear, personally and musically, to run out of ideas. Second question: What is your favorite vacation destination? I think Cancun, Mexico. If you were to make a movie about your life, who would play you? What a good question, isn’t it? There are quite a few very good actors. Let me think about it. I believe Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler would represent my life.

Producer:

It’s a comedy?

Fidel Oswaldo Castro:

Yes, it’s a comedy of my life, really. When was the first time in your career that you thought: “I made it”? The first time I thought I made it was when I filled my first stadium, my first arenas, such as the Toyota Arena in California, among others, some of which are bull rings in Mexico. And when I heard my music in all the streets, of which great artists began to notice me and my talent. That was the first time.

Octavio Cuadras Reflects on When He Knew He ‘Made It’ | Billboard

Octavio Cuadras shares how he started in music at 12 years old, when he knew he “made it” and more!

Octavio Cuadras:
Hi, I’m Octavio Cuadras and I’ll be Fishing for Questions. Look me in the eyes. This one.

“Name a time in which you were excited to see an artist.” Wow. I swear it was yesterday. I wanted to meet Arcángel, but I couldn’t. I had work in Los Angeles, so I couldn’t make it. I got here today. But well, I was really excited. I thought, “We’re going to be at the same event.” But it didn’t happen, but I know it will happen soon.

The next one is: “What is the craziest show you have ever had?” Wow, I don’t know. Look, this is true, when I was 12 years old, I started working in music. I started very young. So my cousins played band instruments, trombone and trumpet, and I played the drums with buckets. So we were called from my house, we went right away, and they were cooking, that was the most exotic show. I was playing the buckets, they were with the trumpets, and people would put money in our cap, and that was my first music salary. It was my first show, so that’s the craziest thing I’ve ever done at a show. They don’t even move when I do this. Like this.

“When was the first time in your career that you thought, ‘I made it’?” Wow. These are very emotional. Honestly, today is a very special day. It’s my first time performing in Vegas. It’s the first time I’ll perform like this, with my entire group.

Codiciado Gets Starstruck Seeing Marc Anthony | Billboard

Codiciado fishes for answers and shares why he got starstruck seeing Marc Anthony, his first hit “Gente de Accionar” and more!

Codiciado:
Hi, I’m Codiciado, and I’m Fishing for Questions.

“What is the craziest show you have ever had?” I think that until now, the one I did in Peacock in November 2023 because we had an acrylic floor with lights, we started throwing champagne and I fell, like, four times. And it went viral.

“What was the first time in your career that you thought ‘I made it’?” When I had my first hit song, “Gente de Accionar.” I remember that I recorded it around 2016. And after one week, it was one of the first songs that had one million views on YouTube, back then. So everybody in Tijuana went crazy. It was cool. That was the first time.

“Name a time when you were excited to see an artist?” In Las Vegas, the last time, I remember we were walking down a hall at an award show, and Marc Anthony walked past me. I remember that I sighed, I didn’t get to greet him, but I saw him. I saw him.

Guest:
Why didn’t you greet him?

Codiciado:
He was just passing by. I was with Carin and then I moved, he came and greeted Carin. But I was here and they were there. So, I gave them their privacy. But one day I will meet him.

“What is your favorite vacation destination?” Cancun and Sinaloa, but Cancun.

De la Ghetto Fishes for Answers | Billboard

De la Ghetto shares how “Sensacion del Bloque” became successful and changed his life, his biggest fear and more!

De la Ghetto:

OK, let’s choose one. I got one. Do you believe in astrology and what is your sign? That’s crazy because my birthday is this week. I am a Virgo. We can be sometimes very complicated, a little bi-polarish at times. But yes, I believe in astrology. My mother taught me as a child what astrology is, also religion, different beliefs. So, yes.

OK, second one. What’s your biggest fear? Cockroaches. Flying roaches, cockroaches, that’s my biggest fear. Forget about it. Put me in a cage with a lion or a tiger, that’d be better. I can’t handle them.

This one’s long: What is your favorite song to perform and your least favorite to perform? One of my favorite songs to perform is “Sensacion del Bloque” because it’s very nostalgic. It is a song I wrote at a time in my career when I was starting my career, I was… I had no car, no phone when I was broke and sleeping on the floor no money and this song, when I made this record and then actually we put it out a year after we made the record and then when I put the record out, we just leaked the record out on a mixtape and then after another year when the song was super popular around the world, we did the video.

Arcángel Plays Fishing for Answers | Billboard

Arcángel answers some questions while at RUMBAZO and shares who his celebrity crush is, his reaction to seeing Jay-Z and Beyonce, and more!

Hi, I’m Arcángel La Maravilla and I’m playing Fishing for Questions. I’m going to fish out the first one. Name a time in which you were excited to see an artist? I had the chance to go to the best boxing fight in history. Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather. Right here in Las Vehas. And I was like really close to them, I had the opportunity to be very close. And Michael Jordan passed me by, Jay-Z and Beyonce. I’ve always been a big fan of Jay-Z. I’ll always be. And Jordan is like… I grew up with him, I got very excited because they passed me by and I even thought I could take some of their aura to see if I could get something to stick. A couple of their millions. Who was your first celebrity crush? It was probably my mom. Yes, my mom is the… the first artists. For those who don’t know, my mother sang merengue before I even knew how to speak. My mom gave up her dream as an artist belonging to one of the most important groups in the history of Latin music. The first female group, Las Chicas de Nueva York and Las Chicas de Can, under the direction of the great master Wilfrido Vargas. That’s where I come from. My mom didn’t want to sing. My mother wanted to have me.

Myke Towers Plays Fishing for Answers | Billboard

Myke Towers plays Fishing for Answers with Billboard backstage at Latin Music Week 2023.

Myke Towers:
Hey, this is Myke Towers, baby, and this is Fishing for Answers with Billboard.

Who’s your style icon, and why? An icon in terms of fashion … Well, I really like Jimmy Hendrix and Michael Jackson. They never looked ordinary. They always stood out, but if I had to choose between the two, well … Michael Jackson had a lot of flow, many eras and he has my name, so I’ll go with Michael.

Here comes the next one: Who was the first celebrity you fell in love with? I can’t say I fell in love, but there are a lot, maybe I won’t remember their names. Those soap operas, when I was little, I used to watch a lot of soap operas at my grandma’s house. I always liked them. Someday, an actress will be in love with me.

This video is going to be heavy.

What’s the craziest thing that has happened to you on stage? You have to be wide awake on stage now because they throw things, but also, sometimes, while performing, women lift their shirts and all that. You have to stay alert.

What’s your favorite dance move? Well, to be honest, I’m not much of a dancer. Singing is my thing, but when the time comes to dance, I’ll hold my own.

How many more to go? Let’s go to the last one. This is a good one …

Shakira Plays Fishing for Answers | Billboard

Shakira plays Fishing for Answers with Billboard backstage at Billboard’s Latin Music Week 2023.

Shakira:
Welcome! I’m Shakira, and I’ll be Fishing for Answers with Billboard.

Let’s see … the first one. What’s the craziest thing that has ever happened to me live on the stage?
Everything has happened to me. I have fallen, I broke my tooth. I think that’s the craziest that has occurred to me.

Let’s see … What’s my guilty pleasure food? Brownies.

The other one. Do you like to record or go on tour the most? Tough one. Lately, the recording studio is one of my happy places. It brings me lots of peace — I don’t know, I love it. It’s where I feel free the most. But I really want to go on tour and to return on stages. I actually feel very happy when I’m on stage. So, I don’t know … everything has its own time. After being in the studio for a long time, I really want to be playing live. But after some time being on tour, well … I like to come back home and to enjoy making music. Also at my place. The recording studio is also my place.

Hey everybody, I’m d4vd and I’m going fishing for answers with Billboard.

d4vd
Who are some emerging artists that you think people should listen to? Lavae is one of them. Of course, this crazy like, electronic kind of funky, hip-hop artist named Odetari. This kid named Juju, recently found him. He makes songs with his little sister as well. I love them. Juju, shout-out to Juju.

d4vd
Number two, who’s made me the most starstruck? I think the person that has made me the most starstruck — SZA for sure, meeting SZA six months ago at MSG, so it was kind of like the most insane moment of my life.

d4vd
Number three, first concert I’ve ever attended — SZA’s concert six months ago at MSG, first show I ever saw my life by the way, never seen the show before that she was the first artist I ever saw live in concert.

d4vd
Number four. Oh, my secret talent. It’s not a secret anymore, but I can do gymnastics. I do a lot of flips on stage and off stage. I’m very nimble, and acrobatic.

d4vd
Number five last one who I love to collaborate with on my next album. There’s this amazing artists that and Scott James that I recently had opened up for my U.S. run of tour. We’ve recently been working a lot together and I would love to have him on my project. Super Amazing. Scott James, and that is fishing for answers with Billboard.
