Finneas has teamed up with The Zombies’ Colin Blunstone for a live performance of the English band’s 1968 single, “Time of the Season.”
Music-lovers were first treated to a performance of the enduring ‘60s psych-pop hit back in January, when Finneas covered the song during his visit to Australia for radio station triple j’s long-running Like a Version cover series.
“ This is a song I’ve loved over the past year,” Finneas explained in a post-performance interview. “I’ve heard it for years, but I think this year is the year that I’ve listened to it the most. I think if you’re a creator, you hope that you make a piece of work that feels prescient and somehow also feels timeless. I don’t know how ‘Time of the Season’ felt to listen to in the ‘60s, but it sure holds up in my mind in 2025.”

Since Finneas covered the track back in January, it’s become a popular part of his setlist, and on Wednesday (March 5), he brought out the track during a performance at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium. Not content with going it alone, Finneas also brought out Blunstone, who has fronted the band for almost all of its iterations since 1961.
“An unforgettable moment,” wrote The Zombies’ official Instagram account alongside a video of the performance. “Colin joined the incredibly talented @finneas on stage at the Hollywood Palladium for a special performance of Time of the Season—a song that’s resonated for over 55 years. Huge thanks to Finneas for bringing this classic to life in a whole new way!”

The Zombies first formed in Hertfordshire, England in 1961, with their debut album Begin Here arriving in 1965 (a self-titled version was issued in its place for the U.S. market). The group found fame fast, with debut single “She’s Not There” being released the year prior and peaking at No. 2 on the Hot 100.
Though they’d hit the top ten once again with “Tell Her No” that same year, their other big hit was 1968’s “Time of the Season,” which peaked at No. 3 when it was issued as the third single from that year’s Odessey and Oracle.
The group would split for the first time that same year following the release of Odessey and Oracle, though briefly reunited when “Time of the Season” became a hit. The band would remain divided until 1989, when sporadic reunions would take place. Since 2004, they’ve remained an active presence with their most recent album, Different Game, arriving in 2023.
Finneas and Joe Jonas sat down for a discussion for The Hollywood Reporter’s Songwriters Roundtable last month, in which the Grammy-winning producer told the Jonas Brothers member a sweet confession.

“Camp Rock made me want to learn how to play guitar,” he shared.
Finneas then discussed his process creating fictional boy band 4*TOWN’s “Nobody Like U” alongside his sister Billie Eilish for Pixar’s Turning Red. “The preamble was that the working titles of the songs were what the songs needed to accomplish in relationship to the character,” he explained. “So [director] Domee [Shi] would be like, ‘This song specifically, “Nobody Like U,” is called The Confidence Booster.’ That was what it needed to accomplish. It was fun to have the characters internalizing the lyrics during these moments in this narrative. I mean, we did want them to have a three-dimensionality.”
When Jonas, a member of a boy band himself, was asked what he thought of the track, Finneas quickly interrupted him and said, “Jonas Brothers wrote all of those great songs, which are great,” and went on to note that the sibling trio’s songwriting abilities are what separate them from the traditional boy band.
Jonas responded by praising Finneas and Turning Red. “Well, I love the film… I think he crushed it. And I’m a fan. I’m a big fan of Finneas, and the sister and what they’ve been able to accomplish. And naturally, that the soundtrack is great. And yeah, it definitely brought me back.”
Other participants for the roundtable included Oscar winner David Byrne, who wrote along with Son Lux and Mitski, “This Is a Life” for A24’s Everything Everywhere All at Once and Oscar winner Diane Warren, who composed “Applause” for Tell It Like a Woman.

Finneas took to Instagram on Thursday (Oct. 27) to share the details of a scary accident last week that led to a serious injury and surgery.
“Last Friday, I had the pleasure of crashing my electric bike, flying over the handlebars and absolutely demolishing my collarbone as well as sustaining a radial head fracture to my right elbow,” he wrote alongside a photo of his X-ray, in which you can see clear breaks in his bones. “The severity of the displacement of my collarbone meant I required surgery which I am now on the other side of and I’m feeling great!”
The Grammy winning artist went on to thank the doctors and professionals at the hospital who helped him, as well as his family and longtime girlfriend Claudia Sulewski for their care and support.

Finneas added that “with hard work,” he will recover enough to be able to take the stage with his sister Billie Eilish for her upcoming “Hometown Encore” shows in Los Angeles on December 13, 15 and 16. The concerts at the Kia Forum will serve as a celebration of Eilish’s successful global tour in support of her Billboard 200 chart-topping album, Happier Than Ever.
“As foolish as I felt after the fall, my prevailing emotion is gratitude. You see, I was not wearing a helmet,” the 25-year-old star concluded his message. “Lesson forever learned. I feel so lucky to still be here. Take care of yourselves, thank your bodies for all that they do for you.”
