The Point Break Festival, an all-new two-day music festival in Virginia Beach, announced today that Sublime and Rebelution will headline the event coming to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront June 1-2. Featuring more than 20 bands throughout the weekend, the first-time festival will take place at 5th Street on the beach.

As part of a limited run of tour stops in 2024, Sublime will take the stage on Saturday, June 1, with new lead singer Jakob Nowell, the son of the beloved original lead singer Bradley Nowell, alongside founding members Bud Gaugh (drums) and Eric Wilson (bass). The Grammy-nominated band Rebelution, best known for their soulful modern reggae, mixed with pop hooks, alt-rock grit, and hip-hop grooves, will anchor Sunday’s stacked line-up.

The inaugural event will also feature performances by Wiz Khalifa, Stephen Marley, Steel Pulse, Pepper, Tribal Seeds, Fortunate Youth, Hirie, The Expendables, Bumpin Uglies, Denm, Tropidelic, Artikal Sound System, Ballyhoo, Passafire, REGLDGRN, Kash’d Out, Joe Samba, The Supervillians, Of Good Nature, Quasi Kings, Cultivated Minds, and Ganja Cat.

Presale details will be available on the festival’s official website starting Thursday, March 7 at 10 a.m. ET, with the general on-sale for tickets begins Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. ET.

The Point Break Festival is produced by IMGoing, the Virginia Beach promoter and producer of concerts and events throughout the state of Virginia. IMGoing operates the Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion in Portsmouth and Virginia Beach Events, the entertainment and events program for the city of Virginia Beach. In addition, IMGoing promotes events at venues throughout the state, including The Hampton Coliseum, Chrysler Hall, Altria Theater, Roanoke Performing Arts Center and Carpenter Theatre. In addition to the nationally touring artists and festivals, IMGoing has produced many community and military events.

Indie star Angel Olsen is among the group of artists that has joined the lineup of Ecliptic, a singular four-day festival in Arkansas that will feature music performances, science presentations, expert panels and a one-of-a-kind view of a highly rare total solar eclipse.

On Wednesday (Feb. 28), Olsen, Dengue Fever, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists and Mythbusters host Adam Savage joined a lineup that previously included Allah-Las, Blonde Redhead, Deerhoof, Shannon and the Clams, Sun Ra Arkestra, Mary Lattimore and a variety of speakers and specialists. Presented by Atlas Oscura, Ecliptic will be held at Cedar Glades Park outside Hot Springs, Ark. from Apr. 5-8.

The festival site is situated along the Path of Totality, allowing for a unique view of the eclipse that will occur in the afternoon of the fest’s final day. The next total solar eclipse that can be seen from the contiguous United States will occur in roughly two decades, on Aug. 23, 2044.

Willie Nelson‘s upcoming Outlaw Music Festival Tour just might be the most star-studded one yet. The outing — which launches June 21 in Alpharetta, Georgia — will feature Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and John Mellencamp, along with Brittney Spencer, Celisse and Southern Avenue on various dates throughout the tour. Billy Strings, who just headlined three Nashville shows, will join the tour for a special concert outside Seattle, Washington at The Gorge.

The Outlaw Music Festival made its debut in 2016 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The sold-out show garnered so much acclaim that organizers Blackbird Presents, Mark Rothbaum and Nelson developed it into a hugely-popular touring franchise that has welcomed artists including Chris Stapleton, Neil Young, Luke Combs, Van Morrison, ZZ Top, Sheryl Crow, Eric Church, Bonnie Raitt, Tyler Childers and more over the years.

Tickets for this year’s tour go on sale to the general public on Friday (March 1) at 10 a.m. local time here. Citi is the official card of the tour, with Citi cardmembers having access to presale tickets on Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. local time until Feb. 29 at 10 a.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program.

The Memorial Day weekend event celebrating R&B and hip-hop will also present established and rising acts such as newly minted Grammy-winner Tyla, Muni Long, Dru Hill, Jeezy, Kenyon Dixon, Key Glock, Mariah the Scientist, Three 6 Mafia and 310babii. ONE Musicfest’s new sister festival will also host a podcast stage that will treat attendees to candid discussions and unfiltered insights from Angela Yee’s Lip Service, Whorible Decisions, Reallyfe Street Starz, Mazi’s World and The Smoothvega Podcast. Among the brands signed on as sponsors are Procter & Gamble, Toyota and Martell. 

Now in its 14th year, Atlanta-based ONE Musicfest celebrated hip-hop’s 50th anniversary in Oct. 2023 with a lineup that included Janet Jackson, Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, Brent Faiyaz and others. Over the course of its run thus far, the festival has featured a wide variety of artists including: SZA, Lil Baby, Tank & The Bangas, H.E.R. Usher, Lauryn Hill, A$AP Rocky, OutKast, Janelle Monae, Rick Ross and Damian Marley.

Reunited thrash metal band Slayer will headline the second night of this year’s Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, KY. The band join fellow headliners Slipknot, Mötley Crüe and Korn at the event slated to take place at the Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Exposition Center on Sept. 26-29.

Entering its sixth year, the festival makes its return to the beachside shores of Rosarito, Mexico, from Aug. 9 to 11.

Now billed as “the reggaetón and Latin music festival,” BBF welcomes back Puerto Rican superstar Rauw Alejandro to its stage as a headliner for his Friday, Aug. 9, performance; he last appeared in 2019. The excitement continues into Saturday with 2023’s breakout star Peso Pluma leading the charge as the night’s headliner. Sunday heralds the festival debut of Fuerza Regida, the trailblazers of the belikeada movement. Capping off the weekend, Colombian American artist Kali Uchis is set to deliver a special performance on Sunday.

The festival boasts a stellar roster of returning acts, including Panamanian star Sech; Becky G from Inglewood, Calif.; and Puerto Rican sensations Chencho Corleone, Jhayco, Yandel, among others. Exciting newcomers set to debut include Puerto Rico’s Omar Courtz, Xavi known for “La Diabla,” in addition to Colombian group Piso 21, Mexican American rapper Snow Tha Product, and more. The event also features established names such as Jowell & Randy, De La Ghetto, as well as Argentinian singer-rapper Tiago PZK, and DJ Fredy Fresco, DJ Dynamiq and DJ Miriam behind the decks.

The previous BBF edition marked a pivotal moment, as the festival, initially dedicated to música urbana, embraced regional Mexican music, spotlighting Tijuana’s own Grupo Firme.

Since its inception in 2018 by founders Aaron Ampudia and Chris Den Uijl, Baja Beach Fest 2024 continues to build on its legacy as a must-attend event, especially for Southern California residents, with Rosarito being a 45-minute drive south of San Diego, Calif.
