The Viña del Mar Festival has been forced to cancel activities on Tuesday (Feb. 25) due to a massive blackout in Chile that left most of the country in darkness, including the coastal city where the famous event has been taking place since Sunday.

“We deeply regret having to inform you that, due to the state of emergency decreed by the Government of Chile, tonight’s shows must be rescheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2025,” the festival said in a statement published on its social media.
“We know how much you have been waiting for this moment and how important it is for you, that is why we want to assure you that the confirmed artists and comedian will be present on the new date, maintaining the same schedule,” it added about Colombian band Morat, Colombian pop star Sebastián Yatra and Chilean comedian Pedro Ruminot.

The Chilean government declared a state of emergency and a curfew after the blackout left millions of people without power for hours across 14 of the country’s 16 regions, according to The Associated Press. The news agency indicated that the government did not disclose the reasons for the blackout or the timeline for power restoration.
The Viña del Mar Festival posted a statement earlier informing that it was evaluating its options and that, for the time being, the doors of the Quinta Vergara, the venue where the event is held, would remain closed until further notice.
“The production of the Viña del Mar Festival informs that due to the general power outage reported by the authorities and media, which currently also affects the City of Viña del Mar where the Quinta Vergara is located, we are evaluating the situation together with the competent authorities to make a decision regarding the development of the event tonight,” it read. “Our teams are in constant contact with regional and national authorities, public order, and security, to make a decision that always benefits the safety of all people.”
People who had tickets for Tuesday and cannot attend the recheduled show this Saturday can request a refund of their money at www.puntoticket.com starting March 3, 2025, the organizers said.
In its 64th edition, the Viña del Mar Festival began on Sunday with performances by Marc Anthony and Bacilos, and continued on Monday with Myriam Hernández and Ha*Ash. Still to come are the presentations of Carín León and Carlos Vives scheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 26); Incubus and The Cult on Thursday (Feb. 27); and Duki, Eladio Carrión and Kid Voodoo on Friday (Feb. 28).

My Chemical Romance, Deftones and Blink-182 will headline this year’s Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park on Sept. 19-21. They will be joined by an eclectic roster of rock and pop acts including Lenny Kravitz, Sublime, The Marias, Pixies, Cage the Elephant, The Black Keys, Public Enemy, Vampire Weekend, Alabama Shakes, Lucy Dacus and Devo, among many others.

The 12th edition of the fest will move from its previous home in the city’s Central Park — and from its typical spring slot in May to the fall — with a pre-sale slated to kick off on Thursday (Feb. 27) at 10 a.m. ET, with a public on-sale to follow if tickets remain; ticket information is available here.

This year’s line-up also includes: Idles, Spoon, Inhaler, Joey Valence & Brae and the Lambrini Girls on night one alongside the Deftones, with The Backseat Lovers, TV on the Radio, The All-American Rejects, Johny Marr, The Beaches, Mannequin Pussy, Bilmuri, Cmat, Scowl and Michigander warming up the stage for MCR on night two.
Night three will feature Wet Leg, the reunited 4 Non Blondes, Franz Ferdinand, Stereophonics, The Stews, Fleshwater, Murder By Death, Mdou Moctar and special guest “Weird Al” Yankovic performing before Blink.
Last year’s edition was top-lined by Noah Kahan, Weezer and Foo Fighters, as well as sets by Arcade Fire, Young the Giant, Interpol, Queens of the Stone Age, The Offspring, Royal Blood, Billy Idol, Portugal. The Man, Dinosaur Jr., Waxahatchee and many more.

The Pasadena, Calif., venue, managed by Goldenvoice — the creators of Coachella — has hosted annual festivals such as Cruel World, focusing on new wave and alt-rock, and Just Like Heaven, themed around early ’00s alt-rock. This year, the one-day event will embrace Spanish-language music for the first time since the space began hosting multi-stage festivals in 2017.
“It’s a dream to bring the best of música mexicana to an iconic place like Brookside,” a Goldenvoice representative tells Billboard Español. “We’ve been fortunate to be a part of each of these artists’ journeys and it’s a great feeling to have it all come together for this event. We hope to continue more events like this in the future.”

Headliner Carín León — this year’s Grammy honoree for best música mexicana album (including tejano) for Boca Chueca, Vol. 1 (2024), which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart and No. 8 on Top Latin Albums — has quickly emerged as a key figure in Latin music. His distinctive fusion of traditional Mexican music with country elements has marked a significant evolution in the genre.
“I feel very proud to be a pioneer in bringing regional Mexican music to this iconic place,” said León in a press release. “Everything that has happened with our genre is incredible and the presence that México has today in global music. This is just an example of what our country has prepared for the future, and we are moving forward with firm steps! I’m excited to see how Mexican music is being recognized, and for me, it’s an honor to represent it with respect, always going all out.”
Becky G, whose albums Esquemas (2022) and Esquinas (2023) reached the top 10 on Billboard‘s Top Latin Albums chart at No. 5 and No. 7, respectively, continues to highlight her Mexican-American roots with her latest release, Encuentros (2024), which debuted at No. 15 on the same chart last October.
“As a proud Chicana born and raised in Inglewood, I’m beyond excited to be part of this historic moment where música mexicana is included for the first time,” said Becky G in a press release. “Bringing my music and culture with me everywhere I go means everything, but there’s something incredibly special about performing música mexicana in L.A. Also joining the lineup are Edición Especial from Culiacán, Sinaloa, fresh off the group’s successful Segunda Edición tour; and rapidly rising star DannyLux, who fuses romantic sierreño music with a poetic flair.

The salsa superstar will perform with his whole band as part of his Historias tour, in what will be his fourth appearance at the festival. Viña del Mar, which is celebrating its 64th edition, previously hosted Anthony in 2009, 2012 and 2019.
Anthony headlines the first of six nights of stacked performances that will be streamed in the U.S. exclusively on Billboard.com and Billboardespanol.com. He is slated to perform approximately at 7:45 p.m. ET, followed by pop/tropical duo Bacilos at approximately 11:15 p.m. ET.

Both performances are part of the nightly Viña del Mar broadcast, which year after year is Chile’s highest-rated television show. Each night features a headliner, a supporting artist, a comedian and an international song festival in folk and pop categories, where contestants compete every night for a winner in each.
Sunday’s performance will kick off with Anthony, and will be followed by a set from Venezuelan comedian George Harris, the song competition, and Bacilos as the grand finale.
Led by Jorge Villamizar and André Lopes, Bacilos gained fame in the early 2000s with a series of hits including “Tabaco y Chanel,” and “Caraluna.” With a discography that includes six studio albums, two compilations and two EPs, the Miami-based band has earned a Grammy and five Latin Grammys. Last year, they released their newest album, Pequeños Romances.
Viña will continue Monday (Feb. 24) with performances by headliner Myriam Hernández and sibling duo Ha*Ash; Feb. 25 with Colombian’s Morat headlining and Sebastian Yatra; Feb. 26 with Carlos Vives headlining and Carín León; Feb. 27 with Incubus, Juan Carlos López and The Cult; and Feb. 28, urban night, with headliner Duki, Eladio Carrión and Kid Voodoo.

The Osheaga Festival in Parc Jean-Dreapeau in Montreal (Aug. 1-3) announced its 2025 lineup on Wednesday (Feb. 19), which will feature headlining sets from The Killers, Tyler, the Creator and Olivia Rodrigo.

The three-weekend throwdown on the banks of Lake Michigan will take place on June 19-21, June 26-28 and July 3-5 across 12 stages in its 75-acre festival park. The 64th annual Viña del Mar International Song Festival, taking place Feb. 23-28, has announced a panel of nine distinguished judges across music, journalism and entertainment. This eclectic group, renowned in their respective fields, is set to evaluate the international and folk competition entries, determining the winners of the coveted Gaviota de Plata awards.
Leading the panel is Megamedia journalist Rodrigo Sepúlveda, known for his presence on Meganoticias Alerta and the daily radio program Alerta en Romántica. Joining him will be the Grammy-winning duo Bacilos, comprised of Jorge Villamizar from Colombia and André López from Brazil, who are also scheduled to take the stage on Feb. 23. They are known for their hits such as “Pasos De Gigante” and “Caraluna” which charted on Hot Latin Songs at No. 8 and 16, respectively.
Emilia Dides, a singer and Miss Chile 2024 who made significant strides at the Miss Universe pageant last year, brings her musicality to the jury. The jury also includes Catalina Edwards, a journalist, TV and radio host from Megamedia and Radio Infinita. Chilean artist and member of the group 4F (Los Cuatro Fantásticos de la Música) Kidd Voodoo joins as judge and will also take the mic on Friday, Feb. 28. The panel will also feature Chilean actor Jorge López, known for his roles in telenovelas such as Soy Luna and Élite.

Claudio Narea, an iconic figure in Latin American rock music and a co-founder of the legendary Chilean band Los Prisioneros, brings a wealth of musical history and influence. His deep roots in rock music, and timeless hits such as “Tren Al Sur” and “Estrechez de Corazón” will make him a key judge. Adding a classical touch to the jury is Paolo Bortolameolli, an acclaimed conductor linked with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and a prominent figure in Chile’s and global classical music scenes.
Finally, Nicolás Oyarzún, an actor from Megamedia known for his roles in Chilean series, will bring the drama and emotive power of acting to the jury.
Superstars including Carlos Vives, Marc Anthony, Duki, Carín León and more will be gracing the stage at the 2025 Viña del Mar Festiva.
Bailey Zimmerman recently earned concern from music fans on social media following a shaky performance on Jan. 18 during this year’s Crash My Playa festival, held in Cancun, Mexico. Videos of Zimmerman’s performance show the singer — normally known for his energetic stage shows — seemingly having trouble reaching notes, wandering around the stage and taking a tumble at one point.

Zimmerman posted a video to Instagram on Tuesday (Jan. 21), directly addressing his Crash My Playa performance.
“I was always raised up to hit my problems head-on, and never to lie, and always be truthful and honest, even when you’re embarrassed,” he started his video message. “So, I’d like to talk about something that’s been eatin’ me alive. Last weekend, down in Cancun, Mexico, I’m sure everybody’s seen the videos of me playing absolutely awful, and singing absolutely awful. And, I feel like you guys deserve an explanation from me, because you’ve had my back through the highs and lows, and through every mistake.”
He continued, “What happened was, I decided to drink that day, which was a mistake, and I got up onstage and I was too drunk to play. And I sang awful, I played awful, nobody got the show that they wanted or paid for, and I’m disappointed in myself. If you’ve been to my shows, you know how much I’ve talked about God since day one, and it was an awful representation of that. And to anybody, like I said, that’s embarrassed of me, I’m there. I’m embarrassed as well, and I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that this never happens ever again. I want to show you guys the person that I truly am.”
He ended by saying, “So, I’m just asking for a little bit of grace. Man, growing up is interesting. It’s not an excuse, but man, thank you to everybody that’s got my back. Thank you for staying, thank you for showing me love, and grace, and we’re gonna crush this year. But yeah, I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I freakin’ love you guys more than anything in the world and I don’t wanna lose ya. Forgive me and I love ya. Thank you for listening.”
Zimmerman’s next concert is set for March 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He also recently revealed his 2025 summer tour dates on his New to Country Tour, with the shows launching in June.
Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa event celebrated its ten-year anniversary in 2025, with this year’s Crash My Playa also featuring performances from Bryan as well as Jason Aldean, Kane Brown and Lainey Wilson.
To date, Zimmerman has earned four Billboard Country Airplay chart-toppers, including the six-week No. 1 “Rock and A Hard Place.” He was also nominated for the CMA’s new artist of the year honor during November’s ceremony.

This past Oct. 18-19 in Miami, III Points celebrated its 11th anniversary with a lineup that included Jamie xx, Justice, Rezz, Kaytranada, Sara Landry, DJ Koze and many other greats of the electronic genre.
“Each of the departments really locked in, and I feel like we did a really good job as a team,” III Points co-founder David Sinopoli tells Billboard of producing this year’s fest. “It was reflected right back at us with all the bands and the DJ’s in the community coming out and supporting… Everyone was locked in this year, mimicking that focus and energy to their craft.”
One of the many artists showing off their craft at III Points was Canadian producer Jacques Greene, who played a Saturday night set that got right to business, staring with Fonzo’s swaggery 2024 track “Ring Ring” then traversing 90 minutes of techno and experimental electronic music. Sinopoli calls this year of III Points a “special one, because we had all the right people in their respective paths, working with absolute focus and doing an incredible job in their spots – they put on a masterclass with their work. From our sound, tech, lighting, to site operations, site flow, to the music side with [festival staff] Shailee Ben-David, Santi Vidal and Davide Danese’s office helping me put together the lineup. Everyone was really synced up, we have learned over the last few years in this footprint, how to make things flow so that the experience felt a little bit more controlled and comfortable.”
Founded in 2013, the festival puts a strong focus on Miami artists, typically booking more than 50% local acts and bringing in local food vendors and visual artists. This year, as in years past, the two-day fest happened at Miami’s Mana Wynwood event space.
Sinopoli adds that over the festival’s run at the venue, he and the team have “really mastered the site and understood how to lay it out better. Our marketing team helped us fill the space by driving ticket sales and making sure we sold the experience during our sales cycle to the new fan. Laura Kirkpatrick, Leo Piscioneri, Caterina Haddad and the whole team that worked on the marketing killed it. Alexis Sosa-Toro who basically kept it all together for me on every front throughout the year, helped keep all the chaos together with calm and clarity in her leadership.”
III Points partnered with electronic events company Insomniac Events in 2019, with Sinopoli also calling out Insomniac, along with the “OG production team at III Points” for “how well they helped us make this year’s experience so special.”
