The second wave of Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God and adidas basketball collection is upon us and will be hitting the shelves before the year is out.

According to Sneaker News, the second wave of the popular basketball sneaker line has gotten a release date of December 2024, and while adidas’ Samba silhouette has taken over the streets, the new Fear of God Athletics II Basketball “Night Brown” are sure to find some love among basketball players and overall sneaker aficionados.

Though no exact release day has been set just yet, best believe ballers will be keeping an eye out for these. The comfort level is said to be next level even though they have yet to become a staple on the professional basketball court.
Per Sneaker News:
To the uninitiated; the preceding I Basketball admittedly fell short of its intended performance capabilities and never found its way onto NBA hardwood. It did, however, gain traction as a lifestyle shoe among fans of Jerry Lorenzo’s established design language. The next Fear Of God basketball shoe speaks to the idea behind Lorenzo’s “ESSENTIALS” brand, emphasizing functionality while capturing the same aesthetic that’s made FOG a household name.
The “Night Brown” colorway comes as a sensible introductory look, saddled with a dark upper and light midsole. While full technical specifications haven’t been unveiled at the time of this writing, the shoe features a mesh base, sleek Three Stripes paneling, and warped radial tread underfoot. White and grey colorways have also been making rounds on social media, and as mentioned, Lorenzo previewed another version featuring a TPU cage in early October 2024. However, no details regarding that shoe have been floated just yet.
We can’t front, these joints actually look pretty spiffy. Just sayin’.
Check out pics of the Fear of God Athletics II Basketball “Night Brown,” and let us know if you’ll be checking for these when they drop next month in the comments section below.

Fans of Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God attire have been patiently waiting on his collaboration with adidas to drop and though we still have a minute to go before that coveted release date, the man has opened up about his latest collaborative collection.

In an interview with GQ, Lorenzo spoke about the sneakers he has in store for his faithful followers and while fans are getting antsy about waiting so long to get ten toes down in his latest footwear, the designer admitted that “We needed a little bit more time for this to be exactly what I had dreamt for it to become,” he says, “which is just a hundred-percent pure performance.”

Most sneaker enthusiasts remember a time when Jerry Lorenzo was doing his thing over at Nike in 2018 and seemed destined to be a part of the swoosh brand for years to come. Things were going so well that Nike and Lorenzo were in talks to launch Athletics and continue their relationship only to get an upcoming meeting canceled just before he was set to travel to Portland to has out the details of the proposed sneaker line.
GQ reports:
He was taken aback. “I thought I was paving the way and putting numbers on the board in order for [Athletics] to happen,” he says. He felt he had become stuck in corporate limbo, and he was preoccupied by questions about how Nike perceived him and his work and the collaboration (which Lorenzo characterizes as “obviously successful”). He called the final shoe he designed for Nike “The Question.”
In mid-2020, Nike dropped him. Lorenzo says he still doesn’t know why. “I [was] just in this really bad place,” he recalls. “All the shoes sold out. I thought I performed well.”
Undeterred, Lorenzo called New Balance and Reebok. He had conversations with “some sneaker brands overseas” and had offers on the table. Finally, he reached out to Adidas through contacts at Yeezy, where he’d consulted on early product designs. “They got in contact with me shortly after,” he says, and a deal came together that would launch Athletics and put Lorenzo atop Adidas Basketball.
The Adidas x Jerry Lorenzo partnership was announced in 2020 and since then he’s been working on the collection and though some of the pieces have leaked on social media over the years, nothing has been released to the general public for consumption. Hypebeasts are getting antsy out on these streets.
Though Adidas announced that Lorenzo was no longer down with their basketball division due to “creative differences” on kicks that he isn’t 100% behind putting out. Still, Lorenzo and the three-stripped brand are chugging along and from the sound of things, what they’re about to put out will be more than just a fashion statement, it’ll be for sports forreal.

“Simply, I don’t see any kids walking around with basketball shoes unless they’re playing in ’em. I don’t see any kids walking around with turf baseball shoes unless they’re working out.”
He wants to change that. “Most basketball shoes right now, they’re just too bulky,” he says. “You put ’em on with a pair of jeans and you look crazy.” Lorenzo grew up drooling over Air Jordans and Agassi pro models, the sneakers he and his friends hooped in then wore to school the next day. “There was a time when these shoes transcended sport, and I still think it’s possible, even though innovation has taken these shapes and silhouettes far from that place,” he says. “I think there’s a way through design to bring those two languages back together.”
He ain’t lying, you really can’t ball in a pair of Air Jordan 1’s, 3’s or 4’s these days. They hurt like a MF.
But luckily we’ll be getting to see what Jerry Lorenzo and Adidas have been cooking up in the lab after all these years sooner than later and if anything we’ll know just how a little patience and perseverance can pay off.
“I can happily say we’re on the right path for it to be exactly what we dreamed for it to be. By the second half of 2024, you’ll see full performance shoes that are light, playable and transcend the court. Nothing will be compromised.”
Still, even by his sky-high standards, he’s pretty happy with the sneakers that he can finally show the world. He picks up the tan pair again. “You can play in these, but would I say it’s the best basketball shoe in the market? Probably not. But is it one of the best looking sneakers?” He pauses, smiles, admires his handiwork. “Maybe.”
We can’t wait to see.

Kanye West aka Ye is not online but is back outside. His Instagram account has been deactivated but he pulled up to the Fear Of God fashion show this week.

As spotted on Digital Music News, Kanye West is officially off Instagram. His last post on April 18 alluded to him contemplating leaving the social media platform as the visual was a screenshot of the app’s settings page where you can manually deactivate the account immediately. Later that afternoon, his page was gone for good. While his departure from Instagram was abrupt it seems this was inevitable.

Within the last couple of months the rapper’s account had been suspended for violating the terms of use; specifically when he posted some content that was deemed “hate speech”.
Additionally, his energy toward his rival Pete Davidson was largely viewed as harassment and bullying. While he has fallen back from social media, High Snobiety reports he did take the time to attend the Fear Of God runway show on Thursday, April 19.

Held at Hollywood Bowl, the invite-only event was packed with high-profile tastemakers and celebrities but Kanye West and his new wife turned the most heads. Wearing his signature all-black roomy attire with a mask, Yeezy seemed to be in good spirits. His better half on the other hand wore a skin-tight latex body suit that left very little to the imagination.

After years of theories and hype, the adidas and Fear of God collaboration is finally upon us. We’ve gotten a sneak peak at what Jerry Lorenzo and his brand have been crafting in the lab.

Three years after leaving Nike to work with adidas, Jerry Lorenzo is finally ready to unveil what he and adidas have been cooking up in the kitchen. In a statement released to Complex, Lorenzo let it be known that the time to drop the collection is upon us and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us mortals. After a leaked pic of the sample Fear of God x Adidas silhouette dropped on social media, Jerry Lorenzo reached out to Complex to let them know he’ll be revealing the collection himself next month and to not believe everything they see on the internet.

“This is not the basketball sneaker from Fear of God and Adidas,” Lorenzo said of today’s leak, adding that the Fear of God x Adidas performance sneakers and ready-to-wear collections will be officially unveiled on April 19 during the Hollywood Bowl showing of Fear of God’s 8th Collection.

Truth be told, these sneakers ain’t bad though. Just sayin.’
Whether or not these sneakers are actually part of his collection or something someone put together at home in hopes of getting noticed by Adidas or Lorenzo himself is anyone’s guess, but the man obviously isn’t too happy with heads jumping the gun on something he’s been working on for the past few years.
That being said, now we’re more hype to see what the collection from the Fear of God x Adidas will be looking like as Lorenzo seems confident that heads will be more than pleased with what he’ll be unveiling at the Hollywood Bowl come April 19.
Are you looking forward to the Adidas x Fear of God collection? Do y’all think Jerry Lorenzo can salvage what’s left of Adidas popularity post-Kanye West? Let us know in the comments section below.

One of the culture’s most popular creatives is missing Kanye West. Jerry Lorenzo said that adidas isn’t the same, before quickly deleting the social media post. .

As spotted on High Snobiety the Sacramento, California native was out making moves while he was at Paris Fashion Week. Being at one of the industry’s most high-profile gatherings must have given him some nostalgia as he took to social media shortly after attending the Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2023 show. “VIRG… paris ain’t the same without you” he wrote which was a nod to the late great Virgil Abloh; former menswear designer at the luxury label.

The message continued with “YE… adi ain’t the same without you. miss my dudes”. He closed out caption with a heart emoji. This post was short lived though as he deleted it after publishing it but not before it received over 200 comments and roughly 20,000 likes. It is not clear why he withdraw the Instagram post but many assume that showing any support towards Kanye will automatically deem that Jerry Lorenzo is in agreement with the rapper’s antisemitism and outlandish views.
While the critically acclaimed designer has yet to explain the post it should be noted that Lorenzo has a history of speaking his mind on touchy subjects. In the past he has called out other brands who he sees as jacking Fear Of God’s signature minimalistic approach to athleisure wear. Additionally back in 2016 he denounced both gay marriage and abortion saying “yes, i am against gay marriage as the word of God speaks against homosexuality.”
