Eras Tour

Arlington, Texas, is pulling out all the stops for Taylor Swift‘s upcoming concerts this weekend. In celebration of the the trio of Eras Tour shows coming to AT&T Stadium March 31-April 2, the city is welcoming Swifties with a number of fun attractions and events, from a new street called “Taylor Swift Way” to a Tay-themed pet adoption spree.
A sneak peek at the Eras Tour preparations was posted to Arlington’s official Twitter account, showing off photos of the “Taylor Swift Way” street sign, light-up star posts lit red in celebration of Swift’s signature color, and a key to the city dedicated to the “Anti-Hero” singer.
“Arlington is ‘Enchanted’ to welcome Taylor Swift to @ATTStadium for The Eras Tour and has put together some fun ways for our Swifties to celebrate the singer’s 5th visit to The #AmericanDreamCity,” the city’s tweet read.
In a press release, Arlington officially put its cowboy hat in the ring to compete for the title of Swift’s biggest fan city, a “friendly competition” between Glendale, Ariz., which temporarily renamed itself to Swift City ahead of the pop star’s kickoff concerts in State Farm Stadium, and Las Vegas, which lit its Gateway Arches with colors corresponding to each of the Grammy winner’s 10 albums before her shows at Allegiant Stadium.
“Didn’t snag tickets to one of the shows?” added the release. “Arlington Animal Services hopes to help mourning Swifties ‘Shake It Off’ with an adoption special honoring the famous cat-mom. Residents can adopt a new best friend for $40, in honor of Swift’s 40 Top 10 Hits, during The Eras Adoption Special. VIP pets have a $9 adoption fee in honor of Swift’s 9 No. 1 Hits.”

Taylor Swift brought out special guest Marcus Mumford during the second night of her Eras Tour stop in Las Vegas on Saturday (March 25).
Despite telling fans during night one at Allegiant Stadium that “we don’t have guests at this show,” the pop superstar invited the Mumford & Sons frontman for her debut live performance of “Cowboy Like Me,” from Swift’s chart-topping 2020 album, Evermore.
“Las Vegas, Nevada, you are so lucky, because we do have a special guest with us tonight,” Swift told the sold-out crowd when introducing Mumford. “Would you sing ‘Cowboy Like Me’ with me?”
Watch a fan-captured video of the duo performing “Cowboy Like Me” here.
“Cowboy Like Me,” from the Swift’s ninth studio album, Evermore, peaked at No. 71 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2020. The country-leaning track was recorded at Mumford’s Scarlet Pimpernel Studios in the U.K. The studio version of the song features backing vocals from Mumford.
Swift’s show on Saturday marked her first time playing “Cowboy Like Me” in concert, but Mumford regularly performed the tune during his solo show in 2022.
For the surprise song portion of Saturday’s concert, Swift delivered her 2008 Fearless track “White Horse,” marking the first time she has played the track live since 2018. On Friday (March 24), her mini acoustic set included her Lana Del Rey collaboration “Snow on the Beach,” from last year’s Midnights, and “Our Song,” from her 2006 self-titled debut.

Taylor Swift fans in Las Vegas who couldn’t wait until Friday night (March 24) to learn all the details of The Eras Tour might have read up on the setlist, stage production and fashion from last weekend’s opening concerts in Glendale, Ariz. But even the most well-researched Swifties were still in for surprises at the first of her two-night stand at Sin City’s Allegiant Stadium, as Billboard witnessed from the crowd.
Of course, those fans already knew they were in for two songs that weren’t on the previous two setlists, after Swift performed “Mirrorball” and “Tim McGraw” during night 1’s acoustic set and “State of Grace” and “This Is Me Trying” on night 2. The Vegas crowd was in for a double-barreled treat, as she went back to her self-titled debut album for “Our Song” (by request of debut opening act Beabadoobee) — Swift’s only track from the 2006 project for the night — and then paid tribute to Lana Del Rey’s Friday-released album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd by playing her LDR collab “Snow on the Beach” from November’s Midnights for the first time.
That last one came with a disclaimer. “I’m going to talk about something, but I just have to tell you first of all: I’m going to talk about another artist, but that artist is not here, OK?” Swift warned the 60,000-person crowd. “I’m not going to bring somebody out. You’re stuck with me. We don’t have guests at this show, OK?”
So what was different from opening weekend at the first Las Vegas Eras Tour stop? Read below for five brand-new moments from Friday night’s concert.
Love for Lana Del Rey
Did You Know that Lana Del Rey’s ninth album came out on Friday? Thanks to Swift, her army of fans is now well aware.
“Lana Del Rey put out a new album,” Swift announced to the audience during her acoustic set. “It’s called Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Guys, it’s so good. You probably already know that, but it’s just extraordinary. I just think she’s the best that we have. I think we need to make it a priority as a group to stream, buy, support this album and this artist.”
The release-day promo led in to Swift live-debuting their new collab. “She knows I’m obsessed with her, and she was kind enough to make a song with me on Midnights called ‘Snow on the Beach’ because she’s a generous king. She did that for me, and I’ll never forget how nice she’s been to me. It’s so cool when you have favorite artists and they turn out to be so nice to you. I wanted to just do some promo for her, and also, in honor of this brilliant album that she just put out, I wanted to play ‘Snow on the Beach.’”
‘Our Song’ Is Her Song
To kick off the acoustic set, Swift took a request straight from one of her warm-up acts.
“I do get ideas from places,” she said of how she’s choosing each night’s surprise songs. “I actually saw an interview that Beabadoobee did — who is our amazing, brilliant opening act tonight — and they were saying, ‘Oh, you’re going on The Eras Tour. What song might you want to hear?’ And she was like, ‘I grew up listening to songs on her first album.’ And she named a specific song. So I figured, you know what? For her first show with us, I’ll play the specific song that she said she would want to hear. So this is a song I wrote for my ninth-grade talent show. It’s called ‘Our Song.’”
A New Opening Act
Speaking of Beabadoobee, after Paramore helped kick off the two Glendale concerts, the Filipino-British singer/songwriter stepped in and joined the tour for her very first date. Playing an eight-song set — including her Alternative Airplay hits “Care,” “The Perfect Pair” and “Talk” — Beabadoobee was joined before the show by “ABCDEFU” singer GAYLE, who returned for her second weekend as an opening act.
A ‘Powerful’ Milestone
Before performing her Lover single “The Man,” Swift took a moment to share a pretty big milestone she set at Friday night’s concert. “You’re being so supportive, and you’re making me feel so powerful,” she said while flexing her bicep. “You’re making me feel like… I’m the first woman to ever headline Allegiant Stadium,” she announced to wild cheers. “But I won’t be the last.
“What I’m trying to say, is you’re making me feel like I’m The Man.”
New ‘Folklore’ Fashion
Most of the night’s fashion stayed consistent to the weekend 1 outfits, with one exception: When Swift emerged for the Folklore segment of the night, she wore a pink dress with flowing sleeves in place of night 1’s mauve and night 2’s cream. See the latest look below:

What to Wear to a Taylor Swift Concert
Looking for something to wear to The Eras Tour? Any of the outfits on our list will work fine, but if you’re craving variety, outside of the merch available on Swift’s official website, we rounded up some must-haves that fans were spotted wearing during the first two nights of the tour.
Swift City T-Shirt — The city of Glendale temporarily changed its name for the tour, but “Swift City” is technically wherever The Eras Tour lands next! Swifties can find Swift City T-shirts on Etsy for around $20-$30.
Heart-Shaped Sunglasses — Don’t forget your shades! If you’re not sure which style to rock, heart-shaped shades are an easy choice. You can find a bunch of different styles and colors at Amazon.
Comfortable Shoes — Comfortable shoes are important for any concert, especially if you plan to see your favorite artists in a large venue like Swift’s stadium tour. The best shoe options largely depend on your style preferences, but a few shoes that tend to work well for concerts include platform boots and heels in addition to comfortable sneakers such as Converse, Vans, Adidas and cowboy boots. Fans have also been wearing knee-high boots and ankle boots to the tour.
Skirts, Skirts and More Skirts — If you search social media for what to wear to a Taylor Swift concert, you’ll find that Swifties love skirts! Short skirts, long skirts, flared skirts, mini skirts, maxi skirts, denim skirts, satin skirts, pleated skirts, bodycon skirts — you name it. And of course, shorts and jeans are safe choice.
Costumes — Dressing up for concerts can also mean wearing a costume. One devoted Swfitie wore a cape showcasing Swift’s Billboard Hot 100 chart achievements. If you’re thinking of wearing a costume, you should choose something clever but also comfortable.
Venue-Approved bags — Concert venues usually list the kinds of bags that are allowed inside. If you’re not sure what to bring, choose something safe like a clear purse, mini backpack or crossbody bags such as the Adidas Amplifier Crossbody Bag ($32), Lululemon’s Everywhere Belt Bag ($38), Athleta’s Excursion Waist Bag ($88) or the North Face Berkeley Field Bag ($45).
Taylor Swift fans are celebrating the opening night of the pop superstar’s highly-anticipated Eras tour.
During the career-spanning concert at Glendale, Ariz.’s State Farm Stadium on Friday (March 17), Swift performed a whopping 44 songs from her 10 studio albums. The stadium trek marks Swift’s first proper tour in five years, thanks primarily to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Now THAT is how you put on a show, taylor swift you are insane,” one fan tweeted alongside a photo collage of Swift’s numerous outfit changes during the show.
The 3-hour-and-15-minute show found Swift traveling through each of her eras one by one, showcasing the four original studio albums — Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights — she’s recorded since her 2018 Reputation tour. The singer also performed her beloved hits, including “You Belong With Me” and “Shake It Off.” Read Billboard‘s “13 Best Moments” from the tour’s opening night here.
Swifties took to social media before, during and after the Eras tour launch on Friday, sharing dazzling photos and majestic videos of the concert’s impressive production. “The aesthetics of #TSTheErasTour are INSANE,” a fan wrote on Twitter alongside snapshots of the spectacular set-pieces. Another Swiftie added, “That was the show that just kept giving oh my GOD.”
Some attendees even wondered if the experience was real or a figment of their imagination. “Good morning i think last night i was at a taylor swift concert, was i? #TSTheErasTour,” they tweeted.
The Eras tour continues on Saturday (March 18) with a second show in Glendale, Ariz., which has temporarily been renamed Swift City in honor of the artist’s arrival. Support on the trek features a rotating cast of opening acts, including Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, Muna, Haim, Gayle, Gracie Abrams and Owenn.

Less than three weeks after two dozen Taylor Swift fans sued Live Nation over Ticketmaster’s disastrous presale of tickets to her Eras Tour in November, another similar lawsuit has been filed against the concert giant in California federal court.
Filed Tuesday (Dec. 20), the class-action lawsuit, brought by Swift fan Michelle Sterioff, accuses Live Nation and subsidiary Ticketmaster of violating federal antitrust and unfair competition laws and “intentionally and purposefully” misleading “millions of fans into believing” Ticketmaster would prevent bots and scalpers from participating in presales for the tour.
Similar to the lawsuit filed earlier this month, Tuesday’s lawsuit alleges that Live Nation and Ticketmaster, which merged in 2010, represent a monopoly in both the primary and secondary ticketing markets and have used that alleged monopoly power “in a predatory, exclusionary, and anticompetitive manner.” According to the complaint, this monopoly is used to charge “supracompetitive” ticketing fees that can increase the price of tickets “by 20-80%” over their face value.
“Ticketmaster…has violated the policy, spirit, and letter of [antitrust] laws by imposing agreements and policies at the retail and wholesale level that have prevented effective price competition across a wide swath of online ticket sales,” the complaint reads, adding that the company “is only interested in taking every dollar it can from a captive public.”
Sterioff claims that she registered for the Eras Tour presale on Nov. 1, 2022, and “relied” on Ticketmaster’s claim that its Verified Fan program “would ‘level the playing field’” so that more tickets would go to real fans over bots. However, she claims she was unable to secure a ticket during the presale on Nov. 15 or Nov. 16, forcing her to purchase tickets “through an alternate secondary ticketing service provider” after Ticketmaster canceled the general public sale, citing widespread service delays and website crashes as millions of fans tried -– and many failed –- to buy tickets.
Additionally, Sterioff says the amount she paid for her ticket on the secondary market was subject to Ticketmaster’s “monopolistic prices” due to the company’s dominance in the secondary ticketing market as well. She cites a Ticketmaster technology that limits ticket purchasers from transferring tickets unless they’re resold through the company’s secondary ticketing platform — essentially making it all but impossible to purchase a Swift ticket outside the Ticketmaster ecosystem. That allows the company “to charge monopolistic ticketing fees every time a single ticket is resold,” the complaint adds.
There are a total of eight counts listed in Sterioff’s complaint, including violation of California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act; intentional misrepresentation; common law fraud; fraudulent inducement; antitrust violations; violation of California’s Unfair Competition Law; violation of California’s False Advertising Law, and quasi-contract/restitution/unjust enrichment.
Sterioff is asking the court for injunctive relief, statutory damages, punitive or exemplary damages, costs of bringing the lawsuit and more.
Reps for Live Nation and Ticketmaster did not immediately return a request for comment.
In the wake of the Swift ticketing controversy, Ticketmaster apologized to fans and pinned the blame on a “staggering number of bot attacks” and “unprecedented traffic.” But that explanation has seemingly not been enough for many of the company’s critics, who have resurfaced longstanding complaints about the outsized power Ticketmaster and Live Nation have wielded in the market for live music since they merged.
In November, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and her counterpart on the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), jointly announced they would be holding a hearing to examine the effects of consolidation on the ticketing industry. Live Nation and Ticketmaster are also reportedly under investigation by the Justice Department over whether the companies represent an illegal monopoly, though that probe is said to have predated the Swift incident.
