It seems like Offset is no longer at odds with his recording home. He has dismissed his lawsuit against Quality Control Music.

As spotted on Variety Magazine the Lawrenceville, Georgia native is moving on from his legal woes concerning his solo work. Back in April it was revealed that the Migos member was trying to regain the ownership to his master recordings. TMZ reported that in 2013 he signed a contract with QC to produce solo albums. But in 2015 the record label signed a new distribution deal with Capitol Records that in turn reverted ownership of his solo works back to Quality Control. Naturally, Offset felt that the move violated the original 2013 terms thus he took the record company to court.

On Friday, August 4 Offset’s legal team requested the lawsuit be dismissed with prejudice. Neither Quality Control or representatives for the “Slipper” rapper have yet to publicly comment on the recent news. Back in May Offset spoke to Variety Magazine for their cover story and he discussed the situation. “This is me going full-fledged into my solo career,” he explained. “The objective is to do it fully and smash sh*t and f*** the game up as a solo artist. I’m coming through, bustin’ through the door. It’s all set, my next chapter. It’s my time.”
Most recently Offset released his new single “Jealousy” with his wife Cardi B. You can watch the video below.

R. Kelly has received some favorable news regarding his ongoing legal matters. Illinois prosecutors have dropped sexual assault charges against him.

As per Raw Story, R. Kelly is sighing a breath of relief this week. On Monday (Jan. 30), Cook County Attorney Kim Foxx announced that the state will no longer be pursuing the indictments filed back in 2019. The charges include aggravated criminal sexual abuse and assault and allegedly involved four female victims; three are said to have been underage at the time of the crimes. At a news conference, Foxx explained the reasoning behind the statement in detail.

In essence, timing played a significant role in their decision as two other federal trials took priority. “Due to the extensive sentences these convictions hold, our offices have decided not to expend our limited resources and court time with the indictments” she explained. But with this decision, some of his accusers feel their voices have been silenced.
Lanita Carter, who claims she was assaulted by R. Kelly back in February of 2003, admits she was “extremely disappointed” when she heard the charges were dropped.
“I have spent nearly 20 years hoping that my abuser would be brought to justice for what he did to me. With today’s announcement, all hope of justice for my case is gone,” Carter said in a statement to AP News.
As expected R. Kelly’s legal team agrees with the decision. Steven Greenberg spoke with ABC 7 Chicago about the matter. “In my opinion, the charges should have never been brought in the first place,” Greenberg said.

The dropping of Kanye West continues. His lawyers are looking to cut ties with him and are considering newspaper advertisements to let him know.

As spotted on TMZ, the Chicago, Illinois native is about to get some more bad news in the very near future. According to the celebrity gossip website Greenberg Traurig, LLP will no longer represent the creative with regards to his legal matters. It seems the firm has had more than their fair share of his bizarre antics. On Friday, Jan. 13 they filed paperwork asking District Judge Analisa Torres for an extension to be withdrawn from a case. They say there has been “a breakdown in communication” as they have tried to inform Kanye that they plan on no longer representing him. They also make reference to him ghosting them when he “deactivated the phone number previously used to contact him.”

In addition to the extension, they also asked the judge for permission to use “alternative means” to notify West that he is no longer their client. More specifically, running two advertisements in Los Angeles newspapers as per the filing. “Given Ye’s public status, publication of the Withdrawal Order will likely garner significant media attention, resulting in broader publication and provide an even greater likelihood of apprising Ye of the Order,” the firm wrote.
Furthermore, Greenberg Traurig, LLP “has dispatched process servers to the addresses it previously knew Ye to frequent, and has exhausted all methods of contacting Ye to arrange for service, including through Ye’s legal representatives and through Ye directly.” They also mention that Kanye’s ex-business manager, Thomas St. John, “has documented similar unsuccessful attempts to serve Ye.”
