Former President Donald Trump was hit with a limited gag order by Judge Tanya Chutkan after making incendiary false remarks about Special Counsel Jack Smith and his family.
On Monday (October 16), U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan issued a limited gag order on the former president after a lengthy hearing. The decree prevents Trump from publicly attacking Special Counsel Jack Smith and his family, court staff, and potential witnesses in the upcoming trial concerning his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Trump has argued that a gag order would impact his rights to free speech, and that was echoed in arguments by his lawyer, John F. Lauro. Judge Chutkan slapped down those claims, saying that Trump’s right to free speech does not allow him “to launch a pretrial smear campaign” against people. “No other defendant would be allowed to do so,” she added, “and I’m not going to allow it in this case.”
The limited gag order is the second that was handed to Trump in the last two weeks, with the first being ordered by Judge Arthur F. Engoron in his civil trial in Manhattan. Judge Engoron made the order after Trump posted a photo to his Truth Social account falsely claiming that Engoron’s law clerk was dating Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer. “Personal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate and I won’t tolerate it,” he stated to Trump’s attorneys.
It is notable that the gag order has limitations that exclude President Joe Biden as well as Judge Chutkan from being targeted by Trump in his comments. She had been threatened in the past, resulting in the arrest of a Texas woman. “It’s possible to craft a narrowly tailored order to serve those interests,” Judge Chutkan stated during the hearing. The limitations also seem to allow Trump to make comments about former Vice President Mike Pence as long as the remarks didn’t focus on Pence’s role in the criminal case.
Trump’s response came while he was at a campaign stop in Iowa. “They put a gag order on me, and I’m not supposed to be talking about things that bad people do, and so we’ll be appealing very quickly,” Trump said before adding, “I’ll be the only politician in history where I won’t be allowed to criticize people.”

Journalist Angela Rye criticized and fact checked Black supporters of Donald Trump—particularly Sexyy Red and other rappers.
As the 2024 Presidential elections approach, journalist Angela Rye has been observing that there have been rappers making public declarations of supporting former President Donald Trump if not supporting Republican politicians. Ice Cube has drawn some flack for his stance as well as Killer Mike and Ye aka Kanye West, amongst others. The most recent from the rap world to do so has been Sexxy Red, the rising star who gave her public support for Trump in a recent interview.
The St. Louis rapper’s comments compelled Rye to create and release a two-part video in her Break It Down series posted through social media addressing her and other rappers’ fascination with the twice-impeached president. “This is Part 2 for #SexyyRed and other Blacks for Trump: what in the hell do you have to lose? EVERYTHING,” Rye wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter announcing the second part, concluding: “I heard y’all on the stimulus piece. I have something coming on that ASAP, but I wanted you to get this history first.”
“Some of this misinformation — some of these ‘facts’ — have to be fact-checked,” Rye begins in the first video. “The arguments about what Trump has done for the Blacks have to be called out, have to be addressed. This video isn’t just about Sexyy Redd. This video series are really to ensure that Black folks who are for Trump or just might be by default understand what he’s done or not done for us.”
She then goes on to state that just because Trump commuted the sentences of Kodak Black, Lil Wayne, and Alice Johnson doesn’t mean that he has been hard at work trying to pardon other Black people, making allusions to his treatment of the Exonerated Five. “There are still a lot of Black folks who were in jail under Donald Trump. See the thing that you have to understand is that out of all of the people who requested clemency, a commutation, a pardon, Donald Trump was actually the president who pardoned the least number of people since 1945,” Rye stated.
The CEO of IMPACT Strategies stressed that she put these videos together to inform and not berate Sexyy Red and other members of the Black community. “I did this out of love. I am committed to teaching with grace,” she writes.

Sexyy Red is still burning up the charts as her star continues to rise and that means more opportunities to sit down with outlets and share her worldview. However, some fans are wondering why the buzzing Hip-Hop starlet is showing support for beleaguered former president Donald Trump.
Sexyy Red, 25, was a guest on the This Past Weekend podcast with host Theo Von and expressed her admiration for Orange Jesus aka Donald Trump. Like many a Black Trump supporter has shared in the past, the St. Louis star believes that times were financially better in the States under the guidance of the former president and business mogul.
“I like Trump,” Sexyy Red began. “Yeah, they support him in the hood. Like at first, I don’t think people was f*ckking with him. They thought he was racist, saying little sh*t against women. But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people their free money. Aww baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office. We need him back because, baby, them checks. Them stimulus checks. Trump, we miss you.”
As some on X, formerly known as Twitter, have explained, nothing about the stimulus payments during the pandemic came at no cost. In fact, those checks were the result of taxpayer contributions but we didn’t expect the “SkeeYee” artist to know that.
On X, we’ve seen all kinds of reactions to Sexyy Red praising Donald Trump and declaring that the hood loves him despite little evidence supporting that claim. Check out those reactions below.

One New York Judge is attempting to do something most people have failed to do: shut Donald Trump up.
Disgraced former US President Donald Trump and his Truth social fingers finally got him in trouble.
Judge Arthur Engoront hit the twice impeached former Commander In Chief and his sorry legal team with a gag order after Trump attacked one of the Judge’s staffers, NPR reports.
Per NPR’s reporting, the gag order imposed on the second day of trial will determine if the legendary con artist will be liable for the “limits posting or publicly speaking about any member of the judge’s staff.”
If Trump or his legal team fails to comply, there will be sanctions, Engoront said.
The gag order comes after two days of Trump hurling insults at the Judge and Attorney General Letitia James on his bum a** social media platform, Truth Social, and in front of cameras.
In typical Trump fashion, he told reporters outside the courtroom on Monday and Tuesday that the Judge and NY Attorney General were politically corrupt and accused James’ a Black woman, of being racist.
He also said Engoront of being “rogue.”
We are on day three of the trial, and he claims he will testify “at the appropriate time” in this proceeding.
This fraud case is one of four he is facing in New York City, and he is currently a witness on the attorney general’s and the defense’s witness lists. According to NPR, it could be several weeks before he takes the stand.
It will be must-see television when that happens cause you know Trump is going to say some absurdity.

Rudy Giuliani has been accused of groping by an aide to former President Donald Trump during the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection.
According to reports, former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson alleges in her upcoming book, Enough, that the incident occurred as she and the former mayor of New York stood backstage as Trump spoke to supporters at the Ellipse on the day of the attack on the U.S. Capitol. She writes that she felt Giuliani inch closer to her: “‘By the way,’ he says, fingering the fabric, ‘I’m loving this leather jacket on you.’ His hand slips under my blazer, then my skirt.”
Hutchinson was the former aide to then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and her memoir describes her path as a supporter of Donald Trump to working in the administration and her disillusionment afterward. The allegation is one of the book’s bombshell moments, taking place on a day that would see Trump supporters storm the Capitol building, fueled by his false claims about the 2020 presidential election.
“I feel his frozen fingers trail up my thigh,” she continues. “He tilts his chin up. The whites of his eyes look jaundiced. My eyes dart to [Trump adviser] John Eastman, who flashes a leering grin. I fight against the tension in my muscles and recoil from Rudy’s grip … filled with rage, I storm through the tent, on yet another quest for Mark.”
The 27-year-old would eventually testify as a key witness for the House Select Committee investigating the events of Jan. 6, providing damning evidence on the behavior of Trump, Giuliani and Eastman among others. Enough is scheduled to be available to the public next week. The excerpt comes from The Guardian, which obtained an advance copy.
Ted Goodman, a representative for Rudy Giuliani, said in a statement: “This is a disgusting lie against Mayor Rudy Giuliani—a man whose distinguished career in public service includes taking down the Mafia, cleaning up New York City, and comforting the nation following September 11th.”
The accusation comes as the former Trump lawyer faces a slew of legal challenges. He is one of 18 co-defendants indicted with Trump in Georgia for attempts to interfere with the 2020 election there, in addition to being sued by a law firm that once represented him and a former assistant alleging that he sexually assaulted her.

It’s about time journalists everywhere implement a new rule: If you can’t interview Donald Trump without babying him with softball questions and refusing to call him out while he sits there and lies to you, then just don’t interview Donald Trump.
On Sunday, NBC aired a new episode of Meet the Press, which featured the show’s new host Kristen Welker, who replaced host Chuck Todd. The general consensus—at least from everyone who isn’t a dedicated Trump acolyte who thinks up is down, left is right, and a legal election was stolen from Trump thought non-existent election fraud—is that all Kristen did was let Trump talk over her and tell demonstrable lies with little to no pushback.
NBC did publish a fact check on Trump’s interview, which generally showed that virtually everything that came out of Trump’s booty-hole-shaped mout was a lie from the moment he stated, “I have all the facts,” and then went on to falsely claim, once again, that the 2020 presidential race was stolen from him. But, while it’s true that trying to fact-check Trump in real-time would be like publicly cataloging every single day that the sun rises and falls, most people seem to think Welker could have done a better job of, at the ver least, pushing back on Trump’s most obvious lies.
For example: When Trump said regarding Democrats’ abortion policies, “You have some states that are allowed to kill the child after birth,” that was not a moment to gloss over, nor was it when he got specific and said, “You have New York state and other places that passed legislation where you’re allowed to kill the baby after birth.”
Nah, if a Republican tells you Democrats have made baby murder legal, it’s OK to tell them plainly that what they said isn’t just cap, it’s an entire sombrero. Nobody with a brain is going to accuse you of liberal media bias over that.
Another example: Trump claimed, as he has ad nauseam over the past two years, that the 2020 election was stolen from him. That lie, his “big lie,” was to be expected. There’s just no way he wasn’t going to continue that one. But then Trump said this: “If this were ever before a court, we would win so easy. There is so much evidence that the election was rigged.”
In fact, Trump brought nearly 60 lawsuits that were heard by lower court, appellate courts, state supreme courts and even the U.S. Supreme Court, and just about every one of his suits were dismissed due to lack of evidence.
So many opportunities to put Trump in his place and let him hang himself by trying to defend clear-as-day lies were missed. Sorry, that’s just deplorable journalism, and everyone involved, including Wlker, should feel ashamed.

Kristen Welker’s debut as host of NBC’s Meet The Press was marred by an interview with an erratic Donald Trump.
On Sunday (September 17th), the veteran journalist took over as the moderator of the renowned weekly news program, highlighted by her interview with the former president which was heavily promoted by NBC and its networks. But it was soon apparent that even Welker had difficulty in limiting the chaos that Trump often stokes in his sit-down interviews.
[embedded content]
A prime example of this was when she asked him about his whereabouts as the events of the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021 commenced. “Tell me how you watched this all unfold,” she asked the former president. “Were you in the dining room watching TV?” Trump retorted, “I’m not going to tell you. I’ll tell people later, at an appropriate time.”
Welker followed up by asking: “What did you do when the Capitol was under attack, though?” The twice-impeached former president responded: “Did you see the statements I made in the Oval Office and just outside of the Oval Office?” Trump would then issue a flurry of indirect comments, not answering Welker’s questions and again reiterating the false claim that the 2020 presidential elections were rigged, calling his words that day a “beautiful statement”. At one point Welker broke in and asked, “That was 4 o’clock in the afternoon, three hours after the attack started. I want to know who you called on that day.”
Trump would then shunt blame to then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in an attempt to blame for the rioters wreaking havoc.
Despite the disarray, Welker kept her composure and even managed to get Trump to provide a somewhat direct answer on some topics. “I don’t think you should be allowed to have abortions well into a pregnancy,” he said in response to a question she posed about Republican governments exerting strict bans on abortions. He also dismissed fears about going to jail despite four impending trials. “When you say, do I lose sleep? I sleep,” he said. “I sleep. Because I truly feel that, in the end, we’re going to win.”
Meet The Press also provided multiple fact-checks broadcast on-air during the interview and afterward. “He is the former president,” she noted to a panelist during the show, undoubtedly preparing to head off critiques of the show choosing to interview Trump. “He’s facing four indictments, as journalists just set the scene, the backdrop why there is still news value and value for the public to hear from him.”

Iowa might not be so bad after all, despite being a deep red state. Despite being in allegedly friendly confines, Donald Trump was greeted with boos and middle fingers while he was attending an Iowa versus Iowa State football game on Saturday (Sept. 9).
We love to see it.
There was twice impeached, four times indicted former President of the United States getting fried at Jack Trice Stadium in what should be considered MAGA-land.
Social media was loving it the way Cheeto loves cheeseburgers. Peep the reactions in the gallery.

Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney leading the prosecution against Donald Trump and over a dozen co-conspirators in a RICO case, has proven her mettle time and again. In a fiery rebuke of Republican Party Rep. Jim Jordan, Fani Willis explicitly told the congressman that his investigation into the RICO case makes it appear that he’s out of his legal depths.
Fani Willis sent Rep. Jordan a nine-page letter addressing his plans to investigate her office’s probe into the affairs of Trump and the others named in the RICO case, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. From her viewpoint, Willis sees Jordan’s attempt to look further into her tactics as a form of interfering with the matter.

Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, requested to see communication between the Fulton County DA’s office and the Justice Department as it relates to both the RICO case and the Justice Department also indicting Trump for alleging attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election in his favor. Jordan’s stance is that Willis is interfering with the 2024 elections and jeopardizes the rights of Trump, who leads all polls as the GOP candidate, and the other defendants named in the case.
In a letter sent out on Thursday (September 7), Willis did not hold back from addressing Jordan’s concerns and the aims of his investigation.
From AJC:
Willis also responded to allegations she is unfairly targeting Trump. She said his “status as a political candidate cannot make him legally immune from criminal prosecution.” She noted the special grand jury recommended charges in the case, and a separate jury issued indictments.
“Face this reality, Chairman Jordan: the select group of defendants who you fret over in my jurisdiction are like every other defendant, entitled to no worse or better treatment than any other American citizen,” she wrote.
Willis blasted Jordan’s request for information as illegal and improper.
“Your letter makes clear that you lack a basic understanding of the law, its practice and the ethical obligations of attorneys generally and prosecutors specifically,” she wrote.
Jordan’s office has yet to make a public reply or statement regarding Willis’ letter.
