Just when it seemed like Miles Bridges was repairing his image and ready to make a triumphant return to the NBA, a new arrest warrant has been issued for the embattled Charlotte Horners forward.

According to WSOC-TV, a new arrest warrant was issued for Bridges in relation to his prior domestic violence charges. Though this latest setback for Bridges doesn’t involve him getting physically violent with his baby mother, the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office alleges that he violated a protective order against her and will now have to face the consequences for his actions.
WSOC-TV reports:

A criminal summons has also been issued for Bridges, which came out Wednesday. Once again, because it has not been served, it’s not public record, so we have not been able to get a copy of it.
The corresponding police report indicated that the victim’s windshield was smashed in and that her protective order was violated by Bridges’ appearance. The incident happened at her residence.
The victim in question is Bridges’ longtime girlfriend. The pair has several children and is in the middle of a custody battle.
In the past, Bridges’ girlfriend has reportedly defended him and has said that he’s not an abuser.
This is quite the setback for the 25-year-old NBA player who sat out last season due to his legal issues. This latest incident comes month after he signed a new one-year contract with the Charlotte Hornets and vowed to repair his relationship with his teammates and turn over a new leaf. How this will affect his future in the NBA going forward remains to be seen.
When he last played for the Hornets, Bridges averaged career-highs of 20.2 points and seven rebounds. It amounted to a breakout season for the four-year NBA veteran while playing alongside All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball.
Channel 9 has reached out to Bridges’ attorneys and to the Hornets about this story. The Hornets said the team is aware of the reports and it is in the process of gathering more information.
It’ll be a shame if Miles Bridges lets his anger and emotions get the best of him and ruin what could very well be a bright future in the NBA. However, we could never condone domestic violence.

Rapper Gunplay, born, Richard Morales Junior, has just earned himself a heap of legal trouble as the rapper was arrested over the weekend for alleged domestic abuse towards his wife and newborn baby.

According to XXL Mag, the “Pyrex Poppin” rapper was pinched this past Saturday night (August 19) after he allegedly pointed a rifle at his wife, Vonshae Taylor, and their 6-month-old daughter. Of course Gunplay denies the allegations, but as of press time the Florida rapper is still sitting in a jail cell with bail set at $20,000.
XXL reports:

According to a Miami-Dade County arrest document obtained by XXL, Gunplay was arrested Saturday night (Aug. 19) on multiple charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, false imprisonment and child abuse. Miami journalist Andy Slater is reporting that the former Maybach Music Group artist is being accused of allegedly pointing a rifle at his wife while she was holding their 6-month-old baby.

His wife took to Instagram to describe the events of that night saying that Gunplay’s alcoholism led to the incident and thanked everyone for their well wishes and prayers.

Will Rick Ross pick up the tab and bail out his former protégée? We’ll have to wait and see.

Grandmaster Melle Mel was arrested in Los Angeles earlier this week after an alleged domestic violence incident took place in an area hotel. The Hip-Hop pioneer has since gone public after the arrest, denying the claims made by the alleged victim.
Grandmaster Melle Mel, 62, was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence on Monday (June, as reported in detail by Rolling Stone. Melle Mel, real name Melvin Glover, posted a $50,000 bond and now awaits the legal developments. The outlet also took a look at a video from a woman named Jori Jordon, who posted a video of Grandmaster Melle Mel getting arrested on her Facebook page. We will not show the video in the body of this text but the clip can be viewed here.

Jordon is seen in the clip calling Melle Mel a “d*ck” after saying that the rapper would rather go to jail than travel with her to the hospital to get treatment for her injury. In the video, Jordon’s eye appeared to be injured but it appears that was from an unrelated incident. Jordon also continued to ramp up her disdain against Grandmaster Melle Mel with subsequent posts such as the one posted below.

Speaking exclusively with Rolling Stone, Melle Mel explained his side of things. According to him, the pair attended a 2023 BET Awards after-party and then traveled back to his hotel. Jordon reportedly asked to join him and he agreed to the encounter. From there, things took a turn.
“It’s very simple,” he says. “She said I punched her in the eye. She also said she had eye surgery a month ago. Had I punched her in the eye, especially with rings on, she would have had a cut eye. It would have been way worse. Something did happen to her eye, but I did not punch her. With me tussling with her and trying to get her away from me to get her out of the room, something happened.”
As this case develops, we will return with additional details if needed.

The Love & Hip Hop star allegedly took some swings at the father of her children with a baseball bat.
TMZ exclusively reports Taylor allegedly was swinging for the fences and tried to knock her kids’ father’s block off. The incident with Afeez, the father of her 2-year-old and 8-month-old, took place earlier this month. After a warrant was issued for her arrest, the rapper turned herself into authorities.

Per TMZ:

A source familiar tells us the alleged beating came after Afeez flew to NY to see his kids, although he’d been keeping his distance due to some bad blood between him and Brittney.

As he and his mom were leaving the apartment with the kids, Brittney allegedly said something to him which he ignored, and we’re told that set her off.
According to the criminal complaint, obtained by TMZ, Afeez told cops Brittney then punched him in the face while his kids were present. Afeez then left the residence, but cops say Brittney followed him out with the bat, hitting him and leaving him with a laceration and significant facial bleeding.
Afeez took himself to the hospital, where he got stitches for a cut above his eye. For her behavior, she got two counts of assault charges, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.
Brittney Taylor was once the victim of violence herself. Taylor was allegedly the recipient of a Remy Ma punch. The Bronx superstar did end up in jail and quickly was a free woman after making bail. The charges against Remy Ma were dropped.

Playboi Carti was arrested under felony charges of domestic violence. Allegedly, late last year, the rapper, born Jason Carter, choked out his girlfriend, over a paternity test.

According to the victim, she’s Carti’s live-in girlfriend and she was 14 months pregnant when he allegedly put hands on her.
Reports TMZ:

According to the arrest affidavit, obtained by TMZ, the woman told police the rapper grabbed her by her throat and pushed her, holding her neck until she could barely breathe. She even told cops she thought she was going to die.
Police say the woman told officers she’s been in a relationship with Playboi Carti for 2 years, has lived with him since July 2022 and was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged incident on Dec. 20.
Fortunately for the victim, there were witnesses. However, that didn’t stop the incident from escalating.

The woman told cops she wanted to talk to Playboi Carti about the baby and a conversation about a paternity test led to an argument, which she claims escalated to a physical attack. She told police a witness jumped in to try and break up the fight, and when she was able to escape Carti’s grasp, she ran to her car … where she claims he attacked her again.
The alleged victim told cops Carti tried pulling her out of the car and put his hand over her mouth as she tried to use the vehicle’s SOS feature to call police. When cops arrived, police say the woman had visible injuries to her neck, chest and back.

After news of the arrest was made public, rapper Iggy Azalea, who has a child with Carti, chimed in by basically saying “I told you so” in regards to the domestic violence claims.

Unfortunately, rappers putting hands on their partners is not a rarity.

Orlando Brown is once again making headlines in a troublesome fashion as he’s been booked on a charge of domestic violence in Ohio.
According to reports, the former That’s So Raven star was detained by officers who reported to a report of a fight in progress on Thursday morning (Dec. 22nd) in Lima, Ohio. As they arrived, they found Brown involved in an altercation with a family member at the residence, which was revealed to be his brother Matthew. The former actor was arrested with the charge of “domestic violence – cause belief of imminent physical harm by the threat of force.” Brown is currently being held at the Allen County Sheriff’s Office without a bond being set.

When contacted by TMZ, Matthew Brown stated that the 35-year-old troubled actor had been staying at a home that he was renovating for two weeks because he didn’t want him to continue to live on the streets. He reportedly told officers that Orlando was acting “crazy”, accusing him of raping his wife before menacing him with the blade from a broken knife and a hammer. He also said that Orlando eventually set those objects aside.
The arrest marks another low point for Brown, who has been on a highly publicized downward spiral within the past few years due to his struggles with mental health and substance abuse. He infamously appeared on Dr. Phil in 2018 after numerous arrests that year and went on to deny that he needed help. The Proud Family alum also turned heads after getting a tattoo of his former co-star Raven-Symone on his chest, prompting friends to attempt to stage an intervention. Recently, Brown has gone viral through a series of video interviews for making a couple of outlandish claims which included one suggesting that he had sexual relations with Bow Wow and Nick Cannon. Both would go on to vehemently deny those accusations shortly after the videos were released.
