Billy Ray Cyrus Files Emergency Motion Seeking Temporary Restraining Order Against Estranged Wife Firerose Over Credit Card Bill

Billy Ray Cyrus‘ divorce from his wife of seven months, singer Firerose, took an unexpected turn last week when the 62-year-old “Achy Breaky Heart” singer filed an emergency motion in Tennessee court on Thursday (June 13) seeking a temporary restraining order, according to People magazine.

Cyrus, 62, filed for divorce from the Hannah Montana alum and 37-year-old Australian singer born Johanna Rose Hodges in Nashville on May 22 citing “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct,” in addition to seeking an annulment on fraud grounds.

Now, according to papers reportedly obtained by People, weeks after filing for divorce Cyrus’ emergency motion is meant to keep his estranged wife from any “unauthorized” use of his personal and business credit cards and accounts. In the docs, Cyrus reportedly alleges that in recent weeks Firerose has spent $96,986 on 37 unauthorized charges on his business account, including $70,665 in payments to her attorneys.

At press time a spokespeople for Cyrus and Firerose had no comment when asked for additional information on the restraining order.

“As a result of these fraudulent charges… I am concerned that Ms. Hodges is in possession of other information that she may use to make fraudulent, unauthorized charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts,” Cyrus wrote in an affidavit. The latest filing claims that the unauthorized charges began on May 23, the day Cyrus filed for divorce after almost seven months of marriage.

People reported that Firerose’s response to the emergency motion claimed there was “no emergency,” saying that she has had access to Cyrus’ American Express card since June 2022; the couple first began dating in 2022 after years of friendship and got engage later that year before marrying in October 2023. “To claim Wife has made 37 unauthorized charges is untrue,” Firerose’s attorneys wrote in the response filing according to a copy obtained by People. “Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage. Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off.”

Additionally, Firerose’s filing reportedly claimed that after the couple’s 2023 wedding she continued to use his cards with Cyrus’ full permission and that the couple would “routinely” review her expenses on that card.

In contrast, according to People, Cyrus’ motion claims that he and Firerose do not have any joint accounts, credit cards or real estate and that neither was ever an authorized user or signer on one another’s accounts. Cyrus’ motion also claims that Firerose owns real estate in L.A. worth more than seven figures and that she has more than $500K in “liquid and investment assets at her disposal.”

After filing for divorce from his third wife — Cyrus was married to Cindy Smith from 1986-1991 and to Tish Cyrus from 1993-2002 — Cyrus reportedly reached an agreement in court that called for Firerose to move out of his home immediately with the provision that he would provide her with financial support for 90 days or until the dissolution of their marriage, or whichever comes first.

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai can finally close the chapter on their short-lived marriage. The two have finalized their divorce.

As reported on TMZ, the high profile couple have formally dissolved their union. According to the documentation obtained by the celebrity gossip site, the request to legally split was agreed by the Superior Court of Fulton County in Georgia. In an effort to keep the details of the divorce private the couple have decided to keep the case sealed. This means the particulars regarding child support, custody and asset splits.

The two originally started dating exclusively back in early 2019 and then went public with their relationship that August. During the height of the pandemic Jeezy proposed to Jeannie Mai to which she said yes. On March 27, 2021, the two would jump the broom in a private ceremony at their Atlanta home. In an interview with Vogue, Jeannie revealed the then couple was supposed to marry earlier, but they had to postpone it. “We had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short” she said. “And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife.”

Unfortunately, their bliss was short-lived. On Sept. 14, 2023 the “Put On” rapper filed for divorced citing the two were “currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” and that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.” The two share a daughter together.

Billy Ray Cyrus Files for Divorce From Firerose After 7 Months of Marriage

Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from Firerose, according to court documents obtained by People. The couple was married for seven months.

The 62-year-old country star made his filing in Nashville on May 22, citing “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct.” He is also seeking an annulment on the grounds of fraud.

Billy Ray’s representatives declined Billboard’s request for comment.

The Hannah Montana alum and 37-year-old Australian singer — whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges — first started dating in 2022 after years of friendship. They got engaged later that year and tied the knot in October 2023.

“10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony,” they wrote in a joint statement at the time. “It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined. For both of us to hear the preacher say, ‘Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus… I now pronounce you husband and wife’ that was the sacred moment our new forever began. Long Live Love!”

News of their split comes just a few days after Billy Ray made a heartfelt post about his daughter Miley, whom he shares with his second wife, Tish Cyrus, along with 30-year-old son Braison and 24-year-old daughter Noah. Uploading a throwback photo of the 31-year-old “Flowers” singer as a toddler, he wrote: “I’m incredibly proud of her. She’s a survivor and a true artist. She learned early on to love and appreciate the fans who make everything possible. We both cherish the connection we have with our fans and are grateful for every single one of you!”

The post came as a surprise to some fans, as rumors of a rift in the Cyrus family had been circulating since Billy Ray and Tish legally separated in 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage. Said rumors were fueled by Miley when she noticeably didn’t thank her dad in her Grammys acceptance speech for record of the year this year, simply shouting out her mom and sister Brandi before joking, “I don’t think I forgot anyone, but I might have forgotten underwear.”

Before wedding Tish in 1993, Billy Ray was married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991.

Sophie Turner Says Aftermath of Joe Jonas Divorce Was the ‘Worst Few Days of My Life’

Sophie Turner is reflecting on the toxic media frenzy that followed the news of her September divorce from Joe Jonas.

“I mean, those were the worst few days of my life,” the Game of Thrones star told British Vogue in a new cover profile published on Wednesday (May 15), pointing out headlines that painted her as a partier while Jonas was an attentive dad to the former couple’s daughters, 3-year-old Willa and 1-year-old Delphine. “I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn’t leave. My kids were in the States and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out. It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother – mum guilt is so real! I just kept having to say to myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mum and you’ve never been a partier.’”

Turner added, “There were some days that I didn’t know if I was going to make it. I would call my lawyer saying, ‘I can’t do this. I just can’t.’ I was just never strong enough to stand up for myself. And then, finally, after two weeks of me being in a rut, she reminded me that it was my children I was fighting for.”

After Jonas filed for divorce in September, the duo shared a joint statement calling the split a “united decision” and writing, “We have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.” However, shortly after, Turner sued Jonas for the “wrongful retention” of their two children in New York. They soon tentatively resolved their custody battle after a four-day mediation period. “After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK.,” they said in a joint statement shared with Billboard. “We look forward to being great co-parents.”

The former couple met in 2016, and married in two ceremonies in 2019. The first was a surprise Las Vegas wedding in May that they held immediately after attending the Billboard Music Awards, where the Jonas Brothers had just performed. They then threw a lavish wedding at the end of June in Southern France.

Creed’s Scott Stapp & Wife Jaclyn Divorcing After 18 Years of Marriage

Scott Stapp and his wife, Jaclyn, are splitting.

The Creed frontman and former Miss New York, who were married for 18 years, are moving forward with a divorce following separate filings.

“Out of respect for their family, Scott intends to navigate this difficult time privately,” a representative for the Stapp wrote in a statement, obtained by Billboard.

Jaclyn, 43, filed for divorce first in June 2022 and later withdrew, and Stapp, 50, filed in May 2023, People confirmed through court documents filed in Williamson County, Tenn.

Stapp and Jaclyn Nesheiwat married in February 2006 after meeting at an event for Muscular Dystrophy Association in New York.

The former couple share three children together: daughter Milan, 17, and sons Daniel, 13, and Anthony, 6. Scott has another son, Jagger, 25, with his ex-wife, Hillaree Burns.

In 2014, Stapp suffered a self-described “psychotic break,” during which the singer, in a haze of drugs and alcohol, became convinced that his family was involved in a terrorist plot. Following a period of intensive therapy, Stapp and his wife began rebuilding their life together. Part of that experience was documented on VH1’s Couples Therapy in 2015.

Stapp is currently focusing on his music. The artist’s mega-selling hard rock group Creed reunited earlier this year with a slate of concerts that continue growing due to overwhelming ticket demand.

“So many positive things have already happened that are just mind-blowing, in terms of the level of Creed’s resurgence,” Stapp recently told Billboard.

The artist is also in the midst of a solo tour in support of his fourth album, Higher Power, which dropped through Napalm Records in March. The set was preceded by the highest-charting single of his non-Creed career, the hard-charging title track, which has climbed to No. 12 on Mainstream Rock Airplay and earned 1.4 million streams to date, according to Luminate.

Sadly another celebrity couple have called it quits. Chance The Rapper and his wife Kirsten Corley have announced their divorce.

The Chicago, Illinois MC and his long-time love are formally parting ways. On Wednesday, April 3 they released a joint statement announcing their split on Instagram Story. “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways,” the post read. “We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you – Chance & Kirsten”.

While the news took many of Chance The Rapper’s fans by surprise there have been signs the two were experiencing issues. Back in 2022 he got caught liking explicit content on Twitter which led to questions about faithfulness. In turn Kirsten released a video claiming the media was reaching. Fast forward a year later Chano was filmed grinding on women at Carnival which further fueled the speculation that the couple were no longer together.

Gavin Rossdale Calls Gwen Stefani Divorce His ‘Clearest, Simplest Shame’: ‘I Feel Bad for My Kids’

Gavin Rossdale got vulnerable about his divorce from Gwen Stefani while speaking to Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes on their Amy and T.J. podcast on Thursday (May 21).

Without naming her directly, the 58-year-old rocker spoke about Stefani while bonding with the former Good Morning America anchors — whose respective divorces from their former partners and subsequent romance turned into major headline fodder in 2023 — over going through relationship drama in the public eye.

“My clearest, simplest shame,” he began. “I never thought I’d ever get divorced. Sometimes I wish that, when you see the kids, there’s a loss. It would be nice if there was more of a connection with the person that made them with me.”

Rossdale and the No Doubt frontwoman tied the knot in 2002 after six years of dating, but parted ways in 2015. The pair share three children — 17-year-old Kingston, 15-year-old Zuma, and 10-year-old Apollo.

Stefani has since remarried to Blake Shelton, whom she met on The Voice, and Rossdale is now dating musician Xhoana.

“I feel bad for my kids,” Rossdale continued on the podcast. “I wish I could have just figured out a way to not have that in their lives. It wasn’t fun for me to be from a broken home … It can be quite debilitating for kids. The overriding thing is you don’t want to let your kids down.”

The musician also added, “I’d never wanna overly say anything negative about their mom … It’s not right.”

The “Love Remains The Same” singer — whose band will celebrate its 30th anniversary by embarking on a 32-date North American tour in July — opened up about his parenting setup with Stefani last year. “I think you can go one of two ways,” he revealed. “You can either do everything together and really co-parent and see how that goes, or you can just parent. And I think we just parent.”

“We’re really different people,” he added at the time. “I don’t think there’s much similarity in the way we bring them up but I think that gives them an incredible perspective to then choose which pieces of those two lives they’d like to inherit and move on with and which part of themselves come out of the whole process.”

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez Divorce Finalized

A year after their separation, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are officially divorced. According to the Associated Press, a Los Angeles Superior Court judgement dissolving their three-year marriage became official on Tuesday (March 19), six months after the 30-year-old “yes, and?” singer filed for divorce from 28-year-old real estate broker Gomez.

The couple, who had a pre-nuptial agreement, separated more than a year ago and have no children or significant legal issues. The terms of the divorce were agreed upon in October, but the couple had to wait six months before the judge’s order could take effect. According to the AP, Grande will make a onetime payment of $1.25 million to Gomez and no future alimony and give half of the proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home to Gomez and pay up to $25,000 of his attorneys’ fees; the divorce petition cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the break-up.

The couple reportedly started dating in early 2020, but didn’t make their romance public until May of that pandemic year, sharing the news of their engagement on Dec. 20 with a series of pictures, including one of her engagement ring; they got married five months later, in May 2021. Since the split, Grande has reportedly been dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

Maren Morris & Ryan Hurd Finalize Divorce

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd finalized their divorce on Thursday (Feb. 1), with a judge signing off on the agreement four months after the initial filing, according to court documents obtained by People.

According to a settlement reached last month,  Morris, 33, and Hurd, 37, are dividing up their assets based on a property settlement agreement and a prenup they signed in Feb. 2018, which was amended in Oct. 2022. The couple also reportedly reached agreement on plans to evenly split time with their three-and-a-half-year-old son, Hayes Andrew, with Morris set to pay Hurd $2,100 a month in child support. The filing also reportedly noted that both Morris and Hurd had successfully completed a parenting seminar as required by Davidson County for all divorce cases involving a child.

Morris filed for divorce from Hurd in an Oct. 2 complaint in Tennessee state court, noting that the couple were “unable to live together successfully as husband and wife” and were “experiencing irreconcilable differences in their marriage.”

While they initially met in 2013, Morris and Hurd got married on March 24, 2018, in Nashville after three years of dating and welcomed their son on March 23, 2020.

Most recently, Hurd supported Morris in September when she revealed her intentions to leave the country music industry behind and issued the two-song project, The Bridge. He said on social media at the time: “She deserves to be celebrated, not just tolerated.”

Three months after Maren Morris filed for divorce from her husband of five years, singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd, the couple have reached an agreement. According to People magazine, the former couple reached an accord on all issues regarding their divorce, with the two signing the notarized papers on Dec. 28 and Jan. 4, respectively, according to documents reviewed by the magazine.

Morris appeared to confirm the divorce settlement last month when she posted a TikTok video in which “The Middle” singer belted out the hook to Tammy Wynette’s iconic 1968 anthem “D-I-V-O-R-C-E,” singing “our D-I-V-O-R-C-E becomes final today.”
