Lawyers for Diddy filed a motion alleging that one of the sex trafficking charges he’s facing is unfair and applied due to his race.
Diddy and his lawyers are alleging that the usage of one law in federal prosecution against him has been wrongfully applied because he is Black, in a motion filed in court on Tuesday (Feb. 18). The specific lesser charge of sex trafficking, “transportation to engage in prostitution,” is the third count brought against Diddy aka Sean Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York. That count is based on the Mann Act, a federal law on the books since 1910 created as an anti-prostitution law.
In the motion, Diddy’s lawyers cite the “racist origins” of the law, claiming he is being “selectively prosecuted” as they are targeting a “prominent Black man” with the charge. “No other person, and certainly no white person, has ever been prosecuted under the White-Slave Traffic Act (the Mann Act) for hiring male escorts from another State,” his attorneys write.
They continued, “The use of escorts, male or female, is common and indeed widely accepted in American culture today,” citing that the chief executive of the escort service that Diddy allegedly used has been interviewed frequently in the media and took part in a reality series on Showtime to support their claim. The lawyers also stated that the charge was being used to prosecute “Black male sexuality,” citing how it was used against the first Black heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson, who had been convicted for violating the act for transporting a white woman across state lines. Johnson would receive a posthumous pardon in 2018 by President Donald Trump during his first term.
Former federal prosecutor Elizabeth Geddes, who was part of the first successful prosecution against R. Kelly, noted that the Mann Act is regularly used against individuals who have committed more serious crimes. In comparison to other charges in the indictment, which include the use of “force, fraud or coercion” to compel someone to engage in a sex act, the lesser charge stemming from the Mann Act only requires the jury to find that Diddy “willfully caused” the transportation of people with that express purpose of engaging in prostitution. “No doubt it is far easier to prove,” Ms. Geddes said to the New York Times. If convicted of that charge alone, Diddy would face a sentence of 10 years in prison.

A lawsuit filed by Jane Doe represented by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee against Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs alleging rape and assault has been dismissed. Jay-Z, via his Roc Nation outfit, issued a statement after the lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice.
As seen on Variety, the lawsuit, filed Friday (Feb. 14) by Tony Buzbee and Antigone Curis on behalf of Jane Doe, was reviewed by the outlet in full. As the outlet notes, a portion of the dismissal stated that the new filing, “hereby gives notice that the above-captioned Action is voluntarily dismissed, with prejudice.” In essence, this case cannot be entered again as it stands currently.
A statement was posted on Roc Nation’s social media pages. We’ve shared a portion below:
Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious and appalling allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere. The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims. I would not wish this experience on anyone. The trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones and I have endured can never be dismissed.
This 1-800 lawyer gets to file a suit hiding behind Jane Doe, and when they quickly realize that the money grab is going to fail, they get to walk away with no repercussions. The system has failed.
Jane Doe initially filed the claim last October against Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging that when she was 13 in the year 2000, the record label mogul raped her during a MTV Music Video Awards afterparty. In December of 2024, Jay-Z was added to the lawsuit.
Jay-Z immediately addressed the lawsuit in a series of public statements and legal maneuvers, aiming much of his vitriol toward Buzbee and calling the claims against him an elaborate scheme to pilfer money out of him.
On X, formerly Twitter, fans are reacting to the news and Jay-Z’s statements. No word yet has emerged from Diddy’s camp.

As more and more men and women come out of the woodworks to file new lawsuits against Diddy for his alleged predatory ways, the embattled music icon is swinging back, but not at his accusers but rather at those involved in exposing his supposedly horrifying history.
According to the Huffpost, Diddy has just filed a $100 million dollar lawsuit against NBC Universal and Peacock over the making of their documentary, The Making Of A Bad Boy for defamation as he claims that they falsely accused him of human trafficking, molestation and even murder. Saying that the companies prioritize profits over factual evidence, Diddy filed the claim in New York State Court this past Wednesday (Feb. 12) in hopes of getting a jury trial underway in order to prove wrongdoing on the part of NBC Universal and Peacock.
Per Huffpost:
Combs’ complaint says the documentary falsely accuses him of sex trafficking, molesting minors and murdering Porter and several figures in music, including The Notorious B.I.G.
“As described in today’s lawsuit, NBCUniversal Media, LLC, Peacock TV, LLC, and Ample LLC made a conscious decision to line their own pockets at the expense of truth, decency, and basic standards of professional journalism,” Combs’ lawyer, Erica Wolff, said in a statement to HuffPost. “Grossly exploiting the trust of their audience and racing to outdo their competition for the most salacious Diddy exposé, Defendants maliciously and recklessly broadcast outrageous lies in ‘Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy.’”
“In making and broadcasting these falsehoods, among others, Defendants seek only to capitalize on the public’s appetite for scandal without any regard for the truth and at the expense of Mr. Combs’s right to a fair trial,” Wolff added.
For those who aren’t familiar with the documentary, The Making Of A Bad Boy features interviews with quite a few people who’ve worked with Diddy in the past including his former bodyguard, Gene Deal, artist Al B Sure!, and childhood homie, Tim “Dawg” Patterson amongst others. Needless to say, they didn’t exactly paint their former Bad Boy associate in the best light.
Though the documentary has been streaming for almost a month, Diddy decided now was the time to bring the case and with the brand new legal troubles that’s been thrown at him as of late (and probably going forward), it will be interesting to see what kind of evidence he’ll be able to provide to prove The Making Of A Bad Boy was false and all hearsay.

Diddy’s legal concerns continue to grow. Another man has filed a lawsuit claiming he was sexually assaulted by the disgrace Hip-Hop mogul.
TMZ is reporting that yet another unidentified male is suing Diddy over being allegedly violated. John Doe says he was a street musician playing the guitar in front of a Los Angeles nightclub when one of Diddy’s handlers approached him and invited him to a private function hosted by the mogul. He was then driven to Diddy’s home and met with the executive as the two discussed his musical aspirations over cocktails. Later in the conversation the man complimented Diddy’s jewelry to which Diddy invited him to see some more of his collection in a different room.
The two went to a private room and where John Doe says instantly felt dizzy and groggy. He claims Diddy bluntly asked “have you ever sucked a d*** before?” to which he responded “no.” Diddy is said to have then pulled out his penis and added “you should try it.” John Doe says he was forced to perform oral sex on him and was taken anally shortly after. The man says he woke up the next morning with someone giving him intravenous therapy. After the IV was complete he was driven back to the nightclub. To no surprise this lawsuit was also filed by Tony Buzzbee.
Diddy’s legal counsel have denied these claims via a formal statement to TMZ. “As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every new publicity stunt, even in response to claims that are facially ridiculous or demonstrably false” it read. Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor.”
Diddy’s federal trial is set to commence on May 5.

Ye, largely known to most as Kanye West, made a bombastic return to social media recently and the barrage continues after giving a strong salute to the imprisoned Sean “Diddy” Combs. In his most recent rant, Kanye West asked President Donald Trump to free Diddy from jail and the pair also announced a merchandise line.
Kanye West has been on an hours-long rant that mentions his rifts with Jewish people, the styling choices of rappers, and any other thoughts he chooses to express. While we have no opinion to offer on his replies on X, plenty online are shocked at some of his word choices, including those seemingly favorable of Adolf Hitler, the infamous Nazi leader. At one point, Ye refers to Hitler as being “fresh.”
Over on Instagram, Ye shared a video of him FaceTiming Christian Combs, Diddy’s son with the caption of the post reading “A SON TO HIS DAD FOR EVERY SON WHO DAD IS LOCKED UP WRITE OR WRONG I WANT YALL TO LISTEN TO DAVE CHAPELLES JOKES VERY CLOSE THIS TIME LETS SEE HOW FUNNY IT GETS WHEN FAMILIES ARE SEPARATED ESPECIALLY BLACK FAMILIES.”
It appears that Ye FKA Kanye West has done a lot of posting and deleting so the train of thought was lost but he did announce a partnership with Sean John, even sharing some of the potential merch items on his Instagram page, writing in one caption, “YEEZY SEAN JOHN COLLAB AVAILABLE @ YEEZY.COM ME AND PUFF SPLITTING THIS 50/50 LIKE WE DISCUSSED BEFORE THEY LOCKED HIM UP.”
Combs, or someone manning his Instagram account, shared the same announcement and wrote in the caption, “Thank you to my brother @Ye” along with a link to Ye’s Yeezy website where fans can collect the fashion line. We weren’t able to locate the exact comment but many online say that he also asked President Trump to release his good friend, who is serving time in connection to an explosive sexual assault matter.
Ye continued to rail against broke people, defending his wife’s Grammy Awards nude pop-out, calling himself a Nazi, and much more. Ye is also addressing his critics on X, although he’s spent more time just shouting into the void and framing his words as channeling Andrew Tate. To capture the full scope of thoughts, swing by Ye’s X page.

Jay-Z has dropped a legal complaint against a lawyer who represents a woman saying he assaulted her. The woman claims that when she was 13, both Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulted her. Jay-Z has strongly denied these accusations from the start.
On February 4, Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, sent a letter to the judge, telling her they were pulling the complaint. The complaint was originally asking for punishment against the lawyer, Buzee, for filing a baseless claim. Jay-Z’s team asked to withdraw the request without prejudice, meaning they can bring it up again later if needed.
Buzbee and his team want to find out where Jay-Z was during a Video Music Awards after-party in 2000, the time the woman says she was assaulted. Meanwhile, Jay-Z is still pushing forward with an extortion lawsuit against Buzbee in California.
Jay Z’s team stated, “ “on behalf of Defendant Shawn Carter to respectfully request that Mr. Carter’s Motion for Sanctions pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11 be withdrawn at this time, without prejudice.” Even though Jay-Z pulled the complaint, it doesn’t mean he admits to anything. It’s just a move in the legal game, and Jay-Z is still saying the claims are false. The situation is still unfolding, and it’s unclear how it will end. But for now, this is just one part of a bigger legal battle that’s still ongoing.
More news to come as the story develops.

Another day, another lawsuit has been filed against Diddy accusing him of sexual assault, this time from a male singer and comic.
According to reports, another accuser has come forth with a lawsuit against Diddy, alleging that he was assaulted by the Bad Boy Records founder back in 2015. The alleged victim, referred to as John Doe in the filing, filed the suit in New York County Supreme Court with his defense attorney, Tony Buzbee, Monday (Feb. 3). “The conduct described herein is shockingly typical of how defendant Sean Combs conducted himself for many years,” the lawsuit states. “Sean Combs believed he was above the law. He is not.”
In the filing, the victim alleged that he first met Diddy aka Sean Combs at an event he performed at in Los Angeles, California, when he was 23 years old. One of Diddy’s associates told him that if he did well, Diddy would consider signing him to Bad Boy Records. After performing, he was invited to the VIP area where the mogul and his entourage containing some known artists were partying and indulging in drugs. He then claimed someone handed him a drink sent over by Diddy, and that he began to feel lightheaded and passed out after a sip. Before losing consciousness, he saw Diddy and other members of the group engaging in sexual acts.
John Doe would then go on to claim that he woke up to Diddy grabbing his genitals and felt that he was attempting to perform oral sex on him. He then claims that Diddy threatened to ruin his career as he tried to fight him off, escaping only when Diddy demanded that he have sex with a woman in front of everyone. The accuser would feign that he had to go to the bathroom, which allowed him to flee. He is suing for damages.
“Mr. Combs cannot respond to every new publicity stunt, even in response to claims that are facially ridiculous or demonstrably false,” a statement from Diddy’s legal team read after the latest lawsuit was filed. “Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor.”
Diddy is currently incarcerated in a Brooklyn detention center, awaiting his trial on May 5.

More evidence about Diddy’s wild ways are being uncovered. The disgraced mogul’s former assistant has shared voice notes of the Bad Boy Records founder requesting drugs, allegedly.
As spotted on Newsweek, the newest episode of The Fall of Diddy has been released and it further examines his infamous “freak off” parties. In the fifth installment his former employee Phillip Pines speaks publicly for the first time ever and details his role in how he would help coordinate the raunchy meet-ups. During the segment he made sure to clarify all the misconceptions behind these invite only events.
“I think there’s a difference in the disparity between what people think they were, meaning that there were hundreds of people engaging in these activities. That wasn’t my experience” he explained. Pines went went on to detail his role saying it was his job to stock the “Wild King Nights,” which only included “a very intimate group of people.” Some of the requested items included lighting, booze, marijuana, ketamine, molly and mushrooms.
“Those requests started to become more frequent. It started to occur on a daily basis” he added. Pines also was tasked to ensure these rooms were cleaned up afterwards and even erasing video footage of the sex acts from Diddy’s devices. The former personal assistant also played voice notes from the rapper requesting “Cialis,” “20 Xanax,” a Plan B pill,” “10 Adderall” and “mushroom capsules.”
The Fall of Diddy is available on Investigation Discovery and can be streamed on platforms such as DirectTV, Hulu + Live TV, Philo and Sling.

It seems like a full week rarely goes by without news of a new lawsuit being filed against deeply embattled music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is now the defendant in dozens of civil lawsuits most of which allege sexual assault. (He’s also the plaintiff in one defamation suit filed against a grand jury witness and his attorney.)
Well, it’s not just Diddy’s alleged abuse victims who are coming forward to speak out against the Bad Boy CEO. One of his former artists, D. Woods of singing group Danity Kane, recently sat down with ABC News to discuss her own experiences with Diddy — and it ain’t pretty!
“I would say that this moment now is a time where I feel like my experience, my truth will really be heard and actually considered and believed,” D. Woods, born Wanita Denise Woodgett, told ABC News’ Eva Pilgrim, host of Good Morning America.
“You know, he is looked at as a hero of our community, and myself included, I looked up to him too,” Woodgett continued, speaking of Diddy. “So a lot of people don’t want to believe that their hero can be this other person.”
Woodgett hasn’t accused Diddy of sexual assault or anything of that nature, but she recalled how he was verbally abusive to her and other members of her group, all of whom were featured on the MTV reality show Making the Band, which was overseen by Diddy.
“He did it in different ways with all of us, you know, picking and prodding and just a way to chip and knock away, but then praise you,” Woddgett said of Combs.
From ABC:
After her time as part of Danity Kane, D. Woods continued to pursue her passions, including performing on Broadway.
If she had the chance to talk to Combs today, the singer told Pilgrim she is not sure what she would say.
“I honestly do not know, but I don’t think you really have to say anything, as long as I’m holding my head up high and my shoulders back,” she said.

Another in depth examination on Diddy’s alleged misdoings is on the way. Identification Discovery is set to release a documentary titled The Fall of Diddy.
As per Variety, the ID Network is throwing their hat into the Diddy documentary ring. The Fall of Diddy attempts to pull back the curtain on the mogul’s personal and professional life. Here several of his former friends, staff and associates are interviewed and the picture they paint of Diddy is a man with many more secrets. One of the most memorable moments was what his short-lived girlfriend Kat Pasion had to share about her experience dating him back in 2019.
While she says everything was great in the very beginning she alleged that he tried to coerce her with drugs and even threatened to have her deported if she ever betrayed him. “This man is sick. He uses his resources and what he thinks he can do for you and thinks that that can band-aid and solve the horrible things he does to people because he thinks he’s God,” she said.
Former bodyguard Roger Bonds also confirmed he saw what he believed to be male sex workers when leaving hotels that Diddy and Cassie were staying at. “I’ve seen questionable things, but I never knew exactly what was going on. It’s been times where Cassie and Diddy would just go to the hotel for a weekend, and I would see guys get off the elevator,” said Bonds.
Diddy’s legal team has refuted the claims and part of their formal statement is said to be included in project. “These documentaries are rushing to cash in on the media circus surrounding Mr. Combs,” it read. “This production is clearly intended to present a one-sided and prejudicial narrative. As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every publicity stunt or facially ridiculous claim. He has full confidence in the facts and the judicial process, where the truth will prevail: the accusations against him are pure fiction.”
The Fall of Diddy is set to premiere Jan. 27 at 9 p.m. ET on ID. You can view the trailer below.
