There will be no mirrorball trophy for Jamie Lynn Spears. The singer-actress — who was paired with pro dancer Alan Bersten — was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars in just week two of the competition on Tuesday (Oct. 3), and shared her thoughts on social media after the show. “Alan, you’re the absolute best […]

It turns out, Jason Mraz just wants to dance.
The 46-year-old artist has enjoyed an impressive recording career, yielding two Grammy Awards across two-plus decades, and earning the Hal David Songwriters Hall of Fame Award. Nine of his songs have impacted the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including two top 10s.

On Tuesday night (Sept. 26), Mraz showed off his other talents on the season 32 premiere episode of Dancing With The Stars, when he strutted his stuff with a Cha Cha.

Mraz and his dance partner Daniella Karagach danced to one of his own songs, “I Feel Like Dancing,” and landed a hattrick of sevens – placing the pair equal second, just one point from the top of the early leaderboard.

This hidden skill, Mraz pointed out, might have something to do with an unusual physical feature; he claims to have an extra vertebra in his spine.

Veep star Matt Walsh won’t be around to dance another day. After his own cha cha with Koko Iwasaki was bracketed in the bottom three, fans voted, the judges weighed in and Walsh was walking.

Mraz is competing for the Mirrorball Trophy, now renamed in honor of the late head judge Len Goodman.

Mraz will hope his DWTS run goes deep. On Sept. 22, Atlantic/Rhino will release the 15-year anniversary edition of We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. We Deluxe Edition.

The forthcoming collection will be available as a three-LP, two-CD set, and digitally. We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things originally peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, following its release in 2008, and is one of his five top 10 appearances on the albums chart. In June, Mraz released his eighth studio album, Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride.

Another year, another heated competition to claim the mirrorball trophy! Among the cast — which includes NFL stars and Emmy nominees — there are a few notable musicians. As previously reported, Jamie Lynn Spears […]

Len Goodman, a long-serving judge on Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing who helped revive interest in ballroom dancing on both sides of the Atlantic, has died, his agent said Monday (April 24). He was 78.

Agent Jackie Gill said Goodman “passed away peacefully.” He had been diagnosed with bone cancer.

A former professional ballroom dancer and British champion, Goodman was head judge on Strictly Come Dancing for 12 years from its launch on the BBC in 2004. The dance competition, which pairs celebrities with professional dance partners, was a surprise hit and has become one of the network’s most popular shows.

Goodman’s pithy observations, delivered in a Cockney accent, endeared him to viewers. “You floated across that floor like butter on a crumpet,” he remarked after one foxtrot. He praised a salsa-dancing couple as “like two sizzling sausages on a barbecue.”

Goodman was head judge on the U.S. version of the show, ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, for 15 years until his retirement in November. For several years he judged the British and American shows simultaneously each autumn, criss-crossing the Atlantic weekly.

British broadcaster Esther Rantzen said Goodman had been “astonished and delighted” by his late-life fame.

“One of the reasons he succeeded so well in the States is that he was quintessentially British,” she said. “He was firm but fair, funny but a gentleman and I hope the nation will adopt his favorite expostulation of ‘pickle me walnuts.’”

Goodman also presented BBC radio programs and made TV documentaries, including a 2012 program about the sinking of the Titanic. As a young man, Goodman had worked as a shipyard welder for the company that built the doomed ship.

BBC director-general Tim Davie said Goodman was “a wonderful, warm entertainer who was adored by millions. He appealed to all ages and felt like a member of everyone’s family. Len was at the very heart of Strictly’s success. He will be hugely missed by the public and his many friends and family.”

Goodman was also a recipient of the Carl Alan Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to dance, and owned the Goodman Academy dance school in southern England.

Charli D’Amelio and her Dancing With the Stars partner Mark Ballas were crowned the season 31 champions of the dance competition show, beating fellow final four contestants Shangela, Wayne Brady and Gabby Windey.

“I think for me, I really just gave everything I had to this journey and I got so much out of it, whether it’s confidence in my dancing, new friends, you know, memories that I’ll remember forever,” D’Amelio told Good Morning America on Tuesday (Nov. 22), the morning after winning.

Since season 31 kicked off on Disney+ in September, and throughout the past two months, the 18-year-old TikTok superstar and her pro dancer partner delivered some jaw-dropping performances, nailing ballroom dances from the Cha Cha and Argentine Tango to the Jive and Foxtrot.

Dancing With the Stars judge Len Goodman is saying goodbye to the ballroom competition series.

During Monday’s broadcast, Goodman announced that this season would mark his final as a judge.

“This will be my last season judging on Dancing with the Stars. I’ve been with the show since it started in 2005 and it has been a huge pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful show. But I’ve decided, I’d like to spend more time with my grandchildren and family back in Britain,” Goodman said. “I could not thank you enough the Dancing with the Stars family. It’s been such a wonderful experience for me.”

After Goodman’s announcement, the judge received a standing ovation.

“You’ve inspired generations of dancers around the entire globe through your passion and through your expertise and through your laser-focused eye and they are going to carry on that commitment of excellence forever. Thank you so much. A living legend,” host Tyra Banks said.

Goodman has been the lead celebrity judge on ABC’s ballroom competition since the show made its debut on ABC in 2005. He has been judging alongside fellow DWTS mainstays Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough later joined as a judge.

Prior to DWTS, Goodman was previously been a head judge on Strictly Come Dancing, the original U.K. version of Dancing with the Stars. He has also served as a judge at the World and British Championships.

Goodman has been recognized for his dancing achievements, winning multiple awards including the British Exhibition and the runner-up in the Exhibition World Championships. Other awards have included the British Rising Star Award, the Carl Allen Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Goodman also runs the Goodman Dance Academy, a long-running dance school in Kent, England.
