On Tuesday (May 27), Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that COVID-19 vaccines would no longer be recommended for healthy children and pregnant women. He did so in a video posted on X, formerly Twitter, alongside National Institute of Health Director Dr. Jay Bhattarchaya and Food and Drug Administration head Dr. Marty Makary – excluding anyone representing the Centers For Disease Control, who maintain the list of vaccines for those groups.
Officials for the CDC would refer press inquiries about the decision to the HHS. The decision has caused considerable concern from medical experts who point to the lack of open debate and that the CDC and the FDA processes which would be required before such a decision was made, was bypassed according to reporting from The Guardian. It also comes as a new COVID-19 variant, N.B.1.8.1, has broken out in Asia with cases being reported in New York and other parts of the United States. The news also comes a week after Makary co-wrote an article in the New England Journal describing pregnancy and recent pregnancy as “underlying medical conditions that can increase a person’s risk of severe Covid-19”. Concerning healthy children, while there are a few physicians who agree with Kennedy’s decision, there is data that shows that even children without pre-existing conditions who contract COVID-19 are at high risk of getting seriously sick and dying. A report of data related to 183 pediatric deaths from COVID showed that 32 percent did not have another medical condition. There are also concerns of Long COVID symptoms arising in children who’ve had COVID-19, including cases of myocarditis or enlargement of the heart (which Kennedy falsely claims is a result of the vaccine).“Kennedy’s unilateral decision to change the CDC’s recommended immunization schedule for COVID-19 vaccines demonstrates once again why he is completely unqualified to be the HHS secretary,” said Public Citizen Research Director Dr Robert Steinbrook in a statement. “In Congressional testimony on May 14, Kennedy said, ‘I don’t think people should be taking medical advice from me.’ Yet two weeks later he is making arbitrary public health decisions, defying norms, and with no accountability.” Kennedy had testified before being confirmed as HHS Secretary that he wouldn’t make any modifications to the vaccine schedule.

Larry Hoover, a founder of the infamous Gangster Disciples street gang out of Chicago, had his life sentence commuted by Donald Trump, according to various reports. Social media reaction to the news has been a mixed bag, to say the least.
On Wednesday (May 28), Trump commuted the multiple life sentences of Hoover, 74. He was imprisoned for the 1973 murder a 19-year-od named William “Pooky” Young, who was allegedly a drug dealer. That state charge was already a 200-year sentence, then in 1997 he was sentenced to six life sentences by the Feds.
But, it seems like being accused of running a vast criminal enterprise wasn’t enough for Trump lto stay away from his case. This is just the latest of eyebrow-raising prisoner interventions from Trump that include the pardoning of reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were serving time for bank fraud and tax evasion .
As for Hoover, the authorities have long accused him of running the gang while imprisoned. According to prison records, Hoover was serving his six life sentences in Colorado. Hoover’s lawyer issued the following statement:
“The Courts have demonstrated a complete unwillingness to consider Mr. Hoover’s considerable growth and complete rehabilitation. Despite the Court’s unwillingness to do the right thing, Mr. Hoover has been able to keep his voice alive through the incredible work of many advocates and supporters. Thankfully, Mr. Hoover’s pleas were heard by President Trump who took action to deliver justice for Mr. Hoover.”
Now the question is if whether or not the Feds will deliver Hoover to state authorities, where he’s supposed to serve the rest of his sentence, or if he’ll be released outright, and when.
Hoover has achieved a mythical status in urban areas and Hip-Hop circles as an antihero. Known in some circles as King Hoover, one of the most famed recent homages to him was Rick Ross’ 2010 hit “”B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast),” where the Miami rapper shouted GD leader out in the chorus. Also, back in 2021 when Kanye West and Drake were still frenemies they hosted a benefit concert to raise awareness.
Reactions to news of Hoover potentially getting pardoned started pouring in as soon as the news broke. Where there are many, like Chance The Rapper, who consider him a political prisoner, there are those who don’t appreciate the violence he allegedly help unleash in Chicago. See some of the more poignant observations in the gallery.
Keep in mind that Trump doesn’t do anything out of the goodness of his heart, allegedly.

NPR, the longstanding public broadcasting network, is standing up to President Donald Trump’s war on the media after filing a lawsuit this week. On Tuesday (May 27), NPR and three Colorado public radio stations filed a lawsuit stating that President Trump’s executive order to cut funding for the network and PBS is unconstitutional.
In a report from the network, NPR, Colorado Public Radio, Aspen Public Radio, and KSUT filed a suit in a District of Columbia court alleging that Trump’s sweeping executive order to end funding to the entities is a violation of their constitutional right to free speech.
“It is not always obvious when the government has acted with a retaliatory purpose in violation of the First Amendment. ‘But this wolf comes as a wolf,’” reads a portion of the lawsuit filing. “The Order targets NPR and PBS expressly because, in the President’s view, their news and other content is not ‘fair, accurate, or unbiased.’”
President Trump, White House budget director Russell Vought, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Maria Rosario Jackson, the chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, are all named as defendants.
“The Executive Order is a clear violation of the Constitution and the First Amendment’s protections for freedom of speech and association, and freedom of the press,” NPR President and CEO Katherine Maher added in a statement.
U.S. District Court Judge Randolph D. Moss is overseeing the matter. The same judge is also overseeing a similar case with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) also suing President Trump.

Shaboozey couldn’t keep a straight face when Megan Moroney made an egregious claim about who created country music, and thankfully, it was caught in 4K.
The “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” singer went viral for not being able to keep a poker face, and understandably so after fellow country artist Megan Moroney had the audacity and caucasity to credit The Carter Family as the inventors of country music.
It was one of the head-scratching moments during the 2025 American Music Awards that garnered plenty of reactions on social media.
While presenting the award for the Favorite Country Duo or Group category, Shaboozey began the segment by reading the teleprompter, telling the audience and viewers, “Country music has been an important part of AMA history. The very first year of this show, the award for Favorite Male Country Artist went to the great Charlie Pride.”
Moroney got the ultimate side eye from Shaboozey when she followed him by saying, “That same year, Favorite Female Artist went to Lynn Anderson, and this award [Favorite Country Duo or Group] went to the Carter family, who basically invented country music.”
The reactions to the moment were instant, with many users on X, formerly Twitter, basically praising the artist for keeping it real following Moroney’s comments.
Shaboozey did respond on his personal X account after the moment went viral, writing in a post that tries to help him save face, writing, “The real history of country music is about people coming together despite their differences, and embracing and celebrating the things that make us alike.”
It’s all good Shaboozey, no need to explain, we all made the same face listening to Moroney make that comment.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, one of the few Democratic leaders who is consistently willing to call out the absurdity of President Donald Trump without pulling punches and mincing words, is asking when someone is going to get the president the mental help he truly needs after he delivered a comically ridiculous commencement speech at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point over the weekend.
While speaking to graduating cadets, the commander-in-chief used his time on stage to air out grievances and rifle through right-wing talking points, completely politicizing the event and, as usual, making it all about himself. Instead of following the tradition of acting as a president for all Americans, Trump decided to turn the commencement speech into an impromptu Fox News-style segment where he ranted against “drag shows,” boasted that he “liberated our troops from divisive and demeaning political trainings,” and declared that there will be “no more critical race theory or transgender for everybody.”
Oh, and he also randomly ranted about “trophy wives,” golf and some nonsense about Al Capone.
Well, Crockett, for one, is over it.
“I am tired of it,” Crockett said during an appearance on MSNBC on Suday. “I mean, he literally sounds like someone who is broken out of the insane asylum. Like, he just be all over the place. Like, get him some ADHD medicine, if nothing else, because I don’t know where he’s ever going to go,” she continued.
“And I don’t think that those that have gone through West Point expected to have their commander-in-chief address them and start talking about trophy wives or start talking about how he had so many investigations. What a great reminder that you are not qualified to be the person that potentially will command us as troops to go into war. Like, that is not instilling confidence whatsoever. And honestly, our troops deserve better. Our graduates deserve better. We as a country deserve better.”
Trump was on one for the entire Memorial Day weekend, actually. Most presidents, when wishing America a happy Memorial Day, would stick to politically neutral comments that focused on military personnel who died serving their country.
Most presidents.
Here’s y’all’s president on Memorial Day.
So, yeah — perhaps, once again, Rep. Jasmine Crockett is right.

Another war of words has broken out among rappers Remy Ma, her ex Papoose, and champion boxer Claressa Shields online. This was spurred on by Shields’ appearance on The Breakfast Club Wednesday (May 21), where she talked about her upcoming bout as well as her life and career.
Just about 32 minutes in, Shields was asked about her relationship with Papoose and stated that she and Remy Ma haven’t spoken.
“She made her post and that was about it,” Shields said. “Women are women. They are very emotional creatures. I think that was just…I don’t know what it was. Emotions or…I don’t know what it was, because I don’t know her and she don’t know me.” The Flint, Michigan, native was referring to an Instagram post that Remy Ma made last December, sharing private messages between Shields and Papoose.Remy quickly responded in an Instagram Live post, stating that she wasn’t the reason for her divorce from Papoose being finalized while blasting him. “The man I married in 2008, that’s not who this is now,” Remy said. “Now, he’s a wife.” She went on to chastise Shields for talking about the situation on The Breakfast Club: “I don’t care who brought up what. It’s nothing for your to be like, ‘I don’t want to talk about that,’” the “Conceited” rapper stated.Papoose would respond to Remy Ma shortly after on Thursday (May 22), beginning by calling her out for her cheating. “2022, she started dealing with the lame,” referring to Eazy The Block Captain, Remy’s new partner. “That wasn’t the first time I caught her cheating. I’ve caught her cheating numerous times since she been home,” Papoose said. He’d go on to claim that he wrote 90% of Remy Ma’s rhymes, including “Conceited” and shared pictures of divorce papers finalizing their separation. After another response from Remy was made to Papoose, the four-time women’s champion chimed in. “REMY MA! Imma say what the f—k I want to say!” Shields wrote in reponse on Friday (May 23) in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Yes we gonna have a family! Yes we’re happy and yes you still invited to barbecues and cookout long as you have a good attitude! Leave me and Pap alone nobody worried about you! Yes I’m 30, not 18! You want to come to the fight or something !? DAMN!”https://x.com/Claressashields/status/1925940230281945177

On Monday (May 26), some of your favorite music artists were bestowed with awards at the 2025 American Music Awards and while some were expected due to the success they experienced this past year, others were surprising as some upsets were pulled off as a reminder that yes, this is America alright.
Most shocking to many in the Hip-Hop culture was Eminem’s wins over Kendrick Lamar for Favorite Hip Hop Artist and Favorite Hip Hop Album as Slim Shady almost helped shut out Kendrick winning any awards in the 10 categories he was nominated in. Now, we can’t deny that Eminem is a Hip-Hop legend, but the man did not have a better year than Kendrick Lamar did in 2024 in any sense of the word. Just sayin’. Luckily, K. Dot was recognized for the work he put in in his efforts to dismantle Drake and took home the award for Favorite Hip-Hop Song for his classic cut “Not Like Us.”
As the show went on many of your other favorite artists took home some gold as the likes of Megan Thee Stallion (Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist), Bruno Mars (Favorite Male Pop Artist) and Beyoncé (Favorite Female Country Artist) were recognized for their body of work this past year. We’re low-key surprised Beyoncé winning a country award didn’t spur MAGA to take to social media to say this is what’s wrong with America or something.
The biggest winner of the night was indeed Billie Eilish who took home seven awards including Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year for her third studio album Hit Me Hard And Soft.
While many fans think these awards shows are rigged in some way, shape or form, according to People, the nominees and winners of the American Music Awards is a fan-voted awards ceremony based on “key fan interactions, including streaming, album and song sales, radio airplay and tour grosses.”
How this algorithm led to Eminem beating out Kendrick Lamar still doesn’t make sense to us, but that’s neither here nor there.
Check out the complete list of winners on the American Music Awards website, and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Travis Hunter is currently living his best life after being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars and marrying his fiancée, Leanna Del Fuente, but as expected, the haters had plenty to say.
Hunter, the Jaguars’ newly drafted offense/defence specialist, put a bow on what many would consider a fantastic month by tying the knot to his longtime girlfriend.
Hunter, 22, and De La Fuente, 23, began their love story when they met at Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia, and it continued throughout his 3-year college stint in Colorado. It didn’t take long for them to seal the deal after their engagement in February 2024.
Along with her very expensive rock on her finger, Hunter wasn’t done blessing his now wife with gifts. Videos of the wide receiver and cornerback unveiling a black Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 Brabus 800, worth more than $200,000, as a gift to his bride, went viral on X, formerly Twitter timelines.
Other clips show Hunter with his new wife celebrating their nuptials, and another of him dancing with his bride while flashing the biggest grin on the planet.
Haters Were Hating On Travis Hunter Getting Married
But with the bliss, of course, comes the unnecessary vitriol of the man just being happy to be married.
“travis hunter actually married that girl *laughing emojis,” one post on X read.
Another hating ass comment read, “Bag Secured. Look at that GRIN on him. #TravisHunter got the stripper a ring AND a G-Wagon just to show everyone he’s all in on her. What could possibly go wrong?”
Someone on Instagram went as far as to write Kanye West, also known as Ye, entire verse from “Gold Digger” under a post.
Some came to the defense of the newly married couple.
Exactly.
We’re sending our best wishes to Travis Hunter and De La Fuente.

President Donald Trump promised many things on the campaign trail that largely have not manifested in ways that some hoped, including his charge to end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Over the weekend, President Donald Trump aimed at Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the clashes between his nation and Ukraine via his Truth Social network.
On Sunday (May 25), President Donald Trump fired a salvo of words towards President Vladimir Putin, illustrating that the supposed close union between the superpower leaders is not as rock solid as promoted.
“I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him,” Trump wrote on Sunday. “He has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever. I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!”
Much of Trump’s dissatisfaction with Putin carried over to Tuesday (May 27) with the president writing, “What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!”
It isn’t plainly stated as to what bad things President Trump is referencing here, considering that he’s considered Putin a close friend despite the contentious nature of the relationship between the nations.
The Kremlin responded on Monday (May 26) after being asked about Trump’s comments regarding Putin.
“We are really grateful to the Americans and to President Trump personally for their assistance in organising and launching this negotiation process,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. “Of course, at the same time, this is a very crucial moment, which is associated, of course, with the emotional overload of everyone absolutely and with emotional reactions.”
On X, President Donald Trump’s jabs towards Russian President Vladimir Putin sparked some reactions. We’ve got them listed below.

The legal team for Diddy, also known as Sean Combs, is seeking to have Kid Cudi’s explosive testimony dismissed.
It’s no secret that the Diddy saga is a pure circus that not even Netflix or HBO could have dreamed of in terms of shenanigans following his arrest on racketeering and federal sex trafficking.
One of the more eyebrow-raising claims is that Kid Cudi’s Porsche was torched because of his relationship with Diddy’s ex, Cassie Ventura. Lawyers for Diddy are asking the judge to dismiss Mr. Rager’s testimony on the grounds of CAP, strictly based on his unconfirmed claim that the disgraced mogul lied about his involvement.
During his testimony in Combs’ federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial last week, Cudi spoke about meeting Diddy at Soho House after his car was set ablaze.
Cudi’s testimony provided the public with one of the more memorable statements when he hilariously said that Diddy was “standing there like a Marvel supervillain.” Still, Diddy’s team of lawyers believes the focus should be on discussion when Cudi was asked if he believed Diddy when the Bad Boy general said he didn’t know anything about Cudi’s whip being torched.
After Judge Arun Subramanian overruled an objection from Combs’ lawyer Brian Steel, Cudi went on to say that Diddy was “lying.”
As part of their argument to have Cudi’s testimony thrown out, Comb’s legal team argues that Cudi’s claims qualify as an opinion and should be stricken from testimony because it is in reference to the “Day ‘n’ Nite” crafter’s firebombed vehicle and could sway the jury’s opinion.
Ye & Young Thug Were Not Fans of Kid Cudi Testifying
Speaking of opinions, there are those within the Hip-Hop community who are not happy that Cudi testified against Combs.
Taking time off from being an antisemtic douchebag, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, Ye, expressed disappointment in Cudi.
“I wish Cudi hadn’t testified against Puff,” the problematic producer/rapper wrote on his X, formerly Twitter account, per HipHopDX.
West continued, “We need to not be locked in white systems. Praying for Puff and his family.”
Ummm, ok.
Young Thug also demonstrated why those in the Hip-Hop community continue to hold flawed logic regarding “snitching.” The rapper, who recently returned home from a lengthy prison stint, wrote on X, “Dam Cudi a rat lol.”
SMH.
Trust and believe if someone blows up our car and we knew who did it, we would be on the stand testifying too.
Just saying.
You can see more reactions in the gallery below.
1. Ridiculous
3. Exactly
4. Make it, make sense
