Oprah Winfrey is documenting her trip to Elvis Presley’s Graceland, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The media mogul is set to air An Oprah Special: The Presleys – Elvis, Lisa Marie And Riley on CBS this fall, in which she tours the historic estate in Memphis, Tennessee, and interviews Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough. The interview comes more than a year after Keough’s mother and Elvis’ only child, Lisa Marie Presley, died on Jan. 12, 2023 at age 54 from natural causes due to the effects of a small bowel obstruction from bariatric surgery.

Before she died, Lisa Marie recorded stories of life for a memoir. Keough worked to compile the recordings into a posthumous memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, which is set to be released on Oct. 8 via Random House Books, the same day Winfey’s special is scheduled to air.

“Born to an American myth and raised in the wilds of Graceland, Lisa Marie Presley was never truly understood . . . until now,” read the memoir’s announcement back in January. “Before her death in 2023, she’d been working on a raw, riveting, one-of-a-kind memoir for years, recording countless hours of breathtakingly vulnerable tape, which has finally been put on the page by her daughter, Riley Keough.”

The upcoming interview with Keough will include memories of Lisa Marie, as well as never-before-seen family photos, videos and more.

The Presleys – Elvis, Lisa Marie And Riley airs Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.

This year, Billie Eilish and Finneas are voting the color of the final track on their May album, Hit Me Hard and Soft: blue. In honor of National Voter Registration Day, the sister-brother musical duo endorsed Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign and urged fans to get to the polls this November to help stop what they called an “extremist” agenda from Republicans.
In a clip posted to Eilish’s social media accounts Tuesday (Sept. 17), the 22-year-old pop star and her collaborator look into the camera while addressing fans directly. “We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy,” the “Bad Guy” singer says.

“We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms and our future,” Finneas continues. “The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.”

The pair also shared a link where fans can check their registration status ahead of election day on Nov. 5. “Vote like your life depends on it,” Eilish adds in the clip. “Because it does.”

With their endorsement, the two-time Oscar winners join a long list of A-list musicians championing the Harris-Walz cause this year. Megan Thee Stallion, Ariana Grande, John Legend, Lizzo, Quavo, Lil Jon, Bon Iver, Barbra Streisand, Katy Perry and many more have all previously lent their support to the VP, while Taylor Swift finally broke her silence on the election Sept. 10 by sharing her highly anticipated endorsement of Harris just moments after the presidential debate concluded.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” the “Anti-Hero” singer wrote in a message signed “Childless Cat Lady.” “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Eilish has long used her voice to speak out about political issues she’s passionate about, most notably sustainability. She’s also encouraged fans to hit the polls on numerous occasions, creating her own voting initiative in 2020 and partnering with HeadCount ahead of the 2022 midterms.

In 2020, the “Lunch” artist performed and slammed Trump in a speech at the Democratic National Convention. Two years later, she and her family paid President Joe Biden a visit at the White House.

Two new Whitney Houston projects are coming soon — both marking the 30th anniversary of three concerts the Grammy Award winner performed in South Africa in 1994.  Arriving first: the limited worldwide theatrical release of Whitney Houston – The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban) set for Oct. 23 and 27. Coming Nov. 8: an accompanying live album, The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban), featuring the previously unreleased track “Love Is.”
Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Entertainment, in partnership with The Estate of Whitney E. Houston, The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation and Primary Wave Music, are helming the release of the fully remastered concert film. It will appear in nearly 900 cinemas in more than 25 countries on Oct. 23 and 27. Legacy Recordings, Sony Music Entertainment’s catalog division, is issuing the live album.

In a release announcing the news, Trafalgar Releasing CEO Marc Allenby stated, “We are pleased to continue our partnership with Sony Music and bring Whitney Houston’s legendary never-before-seen concert to audiences worldwide. The message of hope and unity from the Durban, South Africa performance is still as relevant today as it was 30 years ago, and fans are going to be blown away by how powerful this is on the big screen.”

The projects stem from a trio of Houston performances in South Africa in November 1994, which made her one of the first major U.S. stars to perform in the post-apartheid nation following Nelson Mandela’s history-making election to president. The three shows took place in Durban at Kings Park Stadium (Nov. 8), in Johannesburg at Ellis Park Stadium (also known as Emirates Airline Park) (Nov. 12) and in Cape Town at Green Point Stadium (Nov. 19), drawing a combined 200,000-plus attendees. At the time, a portion of the proceeds from the three shows benefited various local South African children’s charities through Houston’s foundation.

“I know that Whitney would have been filled with joy to know that this concert film will be released around the world to her fans,” commented Pat Houston, the film’s executive producer and executor of The Estate of Whitney E. Houston. “She loved South Africa; she loved the people and she loved Nelson Mandela. This concert is one of the most consequential concerts of her career. We’re thrilled that we can release this film not only to her fans, but to the people of South Africa and its new generation. More importantly, Whitney would be happy to know that her foundation continues to support one of the organizations she helped to provide financial support to 30 years ago.”

Whitney Houston — The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban), a production of Cream Cheese films and distributed by Sony Music Vision, was directed and produced by Marty Callner. “Whitney was a dream to work with; I really loved her,” said Callner. “I directed her several times, but the Durban show was pure magic and the best performance I have ever witnessed. So thrilled the world finally gets to experience that special, special night.”

In addition to the previously unreleased “Love Is,” the live album also features memorable hits by the six-time Grammy winner including “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “How Will I Know,” “I Have Nothing,” “Greatest Love of All” and “I Will Always Love You.” Rounding out the selections are classics such as “Amazing Grace” and “Home.” The album is  available for preorder on both CD and vinyl here.

Emmy Award winner Rickey Minor, Houston’s musical director for 25 years, noted, “Performing in Durban with Whitney was an amazing experience. It was my first time in South Africa, and I don’t think that I was truly prepared for how this trip would change me forever. The energy was electric, and the audience was incredible as we celebrated the end of apartheid. Whitney shared her love and shined her light.”

At a time when Taylor Swift is facing backlash from Donald Trump, Elon Musk and more MAGA supporters, Hillary Clinton is throwing her support behind the pop star.
While discussing the 2024 presidential election on Kara Swisher’s podcast, the former secretary of state opened up about why she thinks Swift’s recent endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris was essential — even if it did lead Trump to post “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on Truth Social shortly afterward. “That sends a strong message,” Clinton said. “I’m a huge admirer. I think this has real impact.”

“Her fanbase is so intense and incredibly influenced by her,” she continued before bringing up Swift’s successful sexual assault lawsuit against radio DJ David Mueller in 2017 and her feud with Scooter Braun over the 2019 sale of her masters. “She’s a singer who charts the course of her life — which they relate to as their own lives — but she’s also somebody who stood up to a guy who groped her. She stood up to get her music back from someone she thought had illegitimately taken it from her.”

Clinton’s remarks come just days after Swift finally broke her silence on the 2024 election with an Instagram post backing Harris on Sept. 10, just moments after the presidential debate concluded. In addition to praising the VP for being a “steady-handed, gifted leader” in a long letter to fans, the 14-time Grammy winner also called out the Trump campaign for posting AI-generated images falsely painting her as a MAGA supporter.

Since then, the Republican nominee has suggested that Swift will “pay a price” in the “marketplace” for siding against him, in addition to declaring his “hate” for her. Musk, an avid Trump supporter, also issued a response to her endorsement, joking on X: “Fine Taylor, you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”

Calling the Tesla founder’s words “rotten and creepy,” Clinton theorized why Swift might’ve struck a chord with right-wing conservatives. “The fact that [Swift’s endorsement] happened right after the debate and just added to Kamala’s momentum must have just set them all off,” she told Swisher. “They gravitate toward toughness and brutality and machoism. And here’s Taylor Swift, a self-made billionaire who brings joy to people and who imparts life lessons, particularly to girls and women. They can’t stand it.

“I can’t understand why [Musk] says what he says,” Clinton added of the tech billionaire, calling his tweet to Swift “another way of saying rape.” “It just is beyond my imagination.”

Listen to Clinton talk about Swift’s endorsement below.
