Calvin Harris Set to Headline Post-Race Performances at 2024 Pegasus World Cup

Calvin Harris has been tapped as the featured entertainer for the 2024 Pegasus World Cup. One of the premier equestrian events in the world, Pegasus brings together thoroughbred racing with music and entertainment for a day-long, festival-style experience.

This year’s event takes place Saturday, January 27 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida and Harris will hit the stage shorty after the day’s races are complete, performing at Gulfstream’s track-side Carousel Club. Other performers include DJ Tyson O’Brien, and TikTok star and DJ Xandra Pohl, with more to be announced later.

Though he was a headliner at Coachella back in April, Harris has spent most of the year performing in Europe, so Pegasus will mark the DJ’s first major North American appearance in almost nine months (Harris does have a Vegas date at XS Nightclub later this month). Tickets for the 2024 Pegasus World Cup Presented by Baccarat are now on sale at Ticketmaster.com. Prices start at $175 and go up to $1,619. VIP tickets, that get you entry into the Carousel Club to see Harris start at $400.

Pegasus owners The Stronach Group and 1/ST partnered with Palm Tree Crew to curate the entertainment for this year’s event. The music and events collective, founded by Kygo and his manager Myles Shear, also helped to curate the lineup for last year’s edition, bringing out One Republic, Chantal Jeffries and Kygo himself (with a Joe Jonas cameo) for the post-race concert.

In addition to the performances, the 2024 Pegasus World Cup will feature an exclusive viewing area of the horse race for guests of title sponsor Baccarat. Dubbed the “Baccarat Garden at Carousel Club,” the space will include a private bar with drinks served in Baccarat glassware. Baccarat is also the Official Trophy Purveyor for Pegasus, and their crystal “Pegase Horse in Black,” valued at $47,000, will be presented to the Pegasus World Cup Invitational winner.

The exclusive “Flamingo Room,” meantime is a — literally — elevated experience, with Groot Hospitality hotspots Gekkō, Komodo, Papi Steak, Swan, and Casadonna providing food for the day while guests take in the races from a bird’s eye view. Performers in the Flamingo Room will include Harlem-based bandleader and jazz singer Dandy Wellington. Groot Hospitality founder Dave Grutman owns a number of restaurants that are fixtures on the Miami scene, but says he chose “venues [that will] complement the high-energy and lively atmosphere of the race.”

‘The Voice’: Eli Ward and Jason Arcilla ‘Serenade’ Gwen Stefani In Battle

Some battles end in tears, or stunned disbelief. When Eli Ward and Jason Arcilla went head-to-head Tuesday night (Oct. 31) on NBC’s The Voice, they wrapped it up with laughter, like two old buddies catching up, cracking open a few cold ones.

The Team Gwen pair tackled Bread‘s “Make It With You,” bringing their own flair to the corny pop-rock number which led the Billboard Hot 100 for a single week in 1970.

“Gwen, what a song choice,” John Legend remarked. The performance was “so like fun and soulful” and “you got these handsome gentlemen to serenade you,” he quipped. The lads were smooth, Legend acknowledged. Arcilla had a “gentleness” of tone, he continued. And Ward, :I loved how confident and in command you felt the whole time.” If he had to choose, Legend would side with Ward.

“You guys sounded great together, you were having fun,” remarked fellow coach Reba McEntire. “I loved the little choreography moves.” If she had to pick, she’d go with Ward.

Niall Horan was impressed with Ward’s “’50s meets ‘70s” smoothness – and his biceps (the Waterloo, IL native is a Division I athlete at the University of Iowa with the cross-country track team). “Your tone is really pure and classic.” Arcilla, the 34-year-old who lives in Pukalani, Hawaii, has “an etherealness” to his voice. It’s a tough choice. If the Irishman had to make it, he would lean ever so slightly in the direction of Arcilla.

Stefani had to make the cut, and she wasn’t happy about it. “This is impossible right now,” she remarked. “I have zero, zero idea of what to do now.” After praising both singers, and remarking on their growth during the contest, she settled on a winner, someone who is “ready right right now.”

And that was Arcilla.

In the aftermath, the No Doubt singer explained her decision. “Jason has the kind of voice that has this breathy, airy, serene quality that I would actually listen to on a record. I think that he’s just really gifted.”

‘Friends’ & Nick at Nite Matthew Perry Tribute: How to Stream Online for Free

Apple Releasing a Black MacBook Pro: Here’s How to Pre-Order the M3, M3 Pro & M3 Max

Besides the Liquid Retina XDR display, Macbook Pro features a built-in 1080p camera and six-speaker sound system.

According to Apple, the M3 MacBook Pro is perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs, video editors, creatives, students. The new MacBooks feature upgrades like faster CPU and GPU, enhanced camera and audio, and up to 128GB of memory — but no touch bar.

By comparison, the 14-inch Macbook Pro with the M3 chip works up to 60 percent faster than the 13-inch M1 chip and Core i7. Final Cut Pro and Microsoft Excel perform up to 40 percent faster with the M3 chip than the 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1 and Core i7).

Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro are up to 40 percent faster on the M3 model and M3 Max is up to 11 times faster than Apple’s fastest Intel-based Macbook Pro.

The M3 Pro model is great for coders, creatives, researchers and other jobs that require “more demanding workflows,” according to Apple. The M3 Max is designed for jobs with “extreme workflows” such as 3D artists, programmers and video editors.

Macbook M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max are available for pre-order now at Amazon, Best Buy and Apple. The MacBooks will be released on Nov. 7.

Fans of the classic Disney movie The Nightmare Before Christmas (which is available to stream on Disney+), can bring the nostalgia home in the form of these 2-pack special-edition dolls. Make sure to clear some space off your floating shelves and coffee table (and give your Halloween Lego sets an apologetic look) as you’ll want these dolls to have all the attention.

They were originally released on Mattel Creations’ site, but due to popularity, they quickly sold-out. That doesn’t mean you can’t still snag them for yourself though — the dolls are still in stock on resale sites such as StockX and Ebay giving you additional opportunities to add them to your growing decor collection.

There’s a Taylor Swift Candlelight Tribute Concert & It’s Almost Sold Out — Here’s How to Get Tickets

Want to hear Taylor Swift’s music under the gentle glow of candlelight? Nothing beats the Eras tour, but if you’re looking for a non-conventional way to experience the Grammy winner’s song catalog, then you might want to attend this candlelit musical tribute to the pop star launching in New York and Los Angeles next month.

Fever’s Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift will take place at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn on Friday, Nov. 17. The event will feature the Highline String Quartet, with shows offered at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

“Shake It Off,” “Cardigan,” “Love Story,” “Blank Space,” “Enchanted,” “Wear Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Invisible String,” “All Too Well,” “Wildest Dreams,” “Lover” “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “You Belong with Me” are included on the tentative performance list.

Tickets for Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift are selling out, so act fast to secure your spot. If you miss the chance to get tickets for Nov. 17, there’s another show planned for Jan. 12, 2024.

Prices range from $35-$65, although most of the cheaper tickets are sold out. Tickets are also available for concerts in Philadelphia, Connecticut and Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (there’s also a Broadway Sings Taylor Swift event in New York on Nov. 13 and Nov. 21. Get tickets here.)

West Coast Swifties can also buy tickets to the candlelight concert tribute taking place in Los Angeles next month. Candlelight Koreatown: A Tribute to Taylor Swift Los Angeles will be held at the historical Immanuel Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Nov. 18. Tickets are priced from $40-$70.

Fever’s Candelight Concerts series “brings the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations” that are usually not used for concerts.

Past and present candlelit concerts have featured tributes to Adele, Amy Winehouse,ABBA, BTS, Beyoncé, The Beatles, Coldplay and more.
