Elleigh Marie Francom is a typical American girl, confronted by difficult circumstances.
The 20-year-old realized a years-long dream when she auditioned on American Idol Sunday night (March 19), and made fans everywhere with her appearance.

Francom is a full-time cosmetologist, a miliary daughter based in American Fork, Utah. Her mom, a singer who teaches theater and has tuned into Idol with Elleigh since the contestant was a kid, is battling multiple serious illnesses.

“Dad was gone for much of the time,” she said in the prerecorded package. The youngster had to step up. “A lot of the responsibilities did fall on me,” she explained.

On the day of her audition, Elleigh learned that her dad will be deployed for a year, starting from April. How does she feel about that? “It really sucks,” she told the judges, as she burst into tears.

Elleigh admitted she’s torn by choices. Chase the Idol dream, or go home and help out with her younger siblings when dad is away?

With her performance, the path ahead is now illuminated.

Elleigh channeled her emotions into a cover of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me”. And drained it.

As she completed the performance, the tears rolled. “Nobody’s ever hit that note at the end,” quipped Katy Perry. “It was great. You gave me the feels. You started off somewhat average, then you landed it. If you sang from that space every time, you would be in superstar territory.”

“I think she’s top 10,” Luke Bryan added. “There’s just really beautiful things going on in your voice.” When she slots into her groove, there were “classy” and “older than your years” tones. “I just loved it.”

Lionel Richie is a believer. “You went to a place that was so pure, so angelic, that it was really one of those moments where we couldn’t keep our eyes off of you.”

The family came out, the judges stood and applauded, Idol had a moment and Elleigh is going to “Hollywood Week.”

When an ancient artifact is uncovered, an evil force is accidentally unleashed, wreaking havoc and threatening the safety of the world. Ghostbusters new and old must come together to help defeat the mysterious new villain — or risk the world enduring a second ice age.

Manicures are an extension of our personalities, from maximalist looks topped with rhinestones to classic French manicures for the minimalists. Barbz can now channel Nicki Minaj with the launch of her first-ever press-on nails brand, Pink Friday Nails.

The manicure brand debuted on Friday (March 15), and Billboard Shopping had the opportunity to try the new press-on nails, which after testing a set out, it’s one of the most durable yet stylish press-ons I’ve tried yet. Besides having a wide selection of nail styles to choose from, each design is modeled after actual manicures the “FTCU” rapper has sported on and off the red carpet, including a recreation of her press-on set that famously fell off during the 2023 MTV VMAs.

Pink Friday Nails

One of the most notable qualities is the amount of shapes and sizes to choose from. There are four shapes available: stiletto, coffin, square and almond as well as sizes short to XXL. I decided to keep things simple with a short, square-cut iridescent set of press-ons, but there are styles decorated with as many as 400 gems and charms for anyone who prefers some extra sparkle.

Starship Chromes

When opening the press-on nails kit, you’ll find a mini file, different nails sizes to choose from, nail glue, adhesive tabs, a cuticle pusher, a nail file and buffer and an alcohol pad. Since both application methods are included, you’re not limited to particular art designs. Every single shape and size includes both application methods, making it accessible for beginners and more advanced press-on users.

Glue application can stay on for a up to two weeks, but the sticky tabs will last a week at most. The best way to remove press-on nails, according to Minaj’s nail tech Yvett G, who helped create and design Pink Friday Nails, is to soak your hand in warm water, then gently remove the nails from the outside edges. That doesn’t mean the nails aren’t shower-proof — I was able to wash my hair without a single nail falling off — but just make sure to use care when lathering your hair.

The nails, when applied properly, won’t fall off easily, either. I got them caught in my jacket, hair and even banged my hand on my desk, and the nails remained chip-free. Friends also couldn’t stop complimenting them on how trendy the design was, and I loved seeing how shocked their faces became when I revealed my manicure was actually just a set of press-ons.

Whether you’re looking for a bold manicure to pair with your denim dresses and platform boots, or want a unique gift for music lovers, Pink Friday Nails has got you covered.

Queen’s Ransom

Bring some pink to your looks with these square-cut press-ons. Each nail features its own pattern, ranging from a textured French tip to a bedazzled crystal topping. You can apply them with glue or the included sticky tabs for an eye-catching look.

Majesty in Stiletto

Love a long look? These ruby red crystal encrusted nails will bring the length and style. You can choose from three colors and three widths. Included is also an alcohol prep pad to make sure the nails stay on for as long as possible.

Moment 4 Mattes

Keep things simple with a pair of matte black nails. The tip is in an almond shape for a more rounded look. And if you’re looking to make your nails pop, you can choose from three other colors: white, brown and red.

Mogul in Stiletto

Add these press-on nails to your cart if you want to be dripping in glamour. The style is available for preorder in the black and nude shades, with three sizes to choose from. Orders will be shipped starting April 15.

For Minaj, the desire to build her own nail brand started when she became a mom and didn’t have time to sit in a nail-salon chair. With help and collaboration from Yvett G, the two created Pink Friday Nails to make salon-quality press-ons accessible to anyone.

“I couldn’t spend as much time getting my nails done as when I only had to worry about me, so it became a necessity to create fly, quaility press-on nails,” said Minaj in a press statement. “Pink Friday Nails are the actual nails I wear designed by my actual nail tech. And I have very small nail beds, so normally, press-ons are way too big and don’t hit the same. Our nails come from short to the longest length I wear, in all shapes, all sizes and polishes.”

Renée Rapp used her time on stage at Thursday night’s (March 14) at the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards to speak her mind about the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. While accepting the award for outstanding music artist at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles in front of a star-studded crowd, Rapp urged for an end to the hostilities that began after members of militant group Hamas stormed into Israel on Oct. 7, murdering, raping and assaulting more than 1,200 Israelis while taking more than 250 hostages.
“We’re in a room of very influential people, very privileged people, which is exciting and also a huge privilege to be a part of that,” Rapp said while reading a statement from her phone to applause from some in the room at the event hosted by Wayne Brady that also honored Niecy Nash-Betts, and Oprah Winfrey. “Having said that, I’d like to take the opportunity to show support and call for an immediate ceasefire and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.”

Trending on Billboard

The “Not My Fault” singer and Mean Girls star ended by urging the audience to “continue to advocate for yourselves, continue to advocate for your friends, your queer friends and for those who can’t advocate for themselves.”

To date, Israel’s deadly military response to the Hamas attack has reportedly killed more than 32,000 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank — many of them women and children — and displaced nearly two million Gazans as the war has dragged into its sixth month with no end in sight. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected calls for a ceasefire to end the conflict that has also caused a massive humanitarian crisis, with the UN warning that more than half a million Palestinians are facing famine-like conditions in the territory where nearly all infrastructure has broken down.

To date a number of other celebrities have also called for a ceasefire, including Gigi and Bella Hadid, Susan Sarandon, Kehlani, The Weeknd, Annie Lennox, Hunter Schafer, Hozier, Pedro Pascal, Angelina Jolie, Mark Ruffalo and Boygenius. On Thursday, Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer called for new elections in Israel to replace Netanyahu, saying the hardline leader’s government “no longer fits the needs of Israel.”

Schumer, who is Jewish and a long-time vigorous supporter of Israel, said, “As a democracy, Israel has the right to choose its own leaders, and we should let the chips fall where they may. But the important thing is that Israelis are given a choice. There needs to be a fresh debate about the future of Israel after Oct. 7. In my opinion, that is best accomplished by holding an election.”

When it came to designing the Bluetooth earbuds and over-ear headphones, the Grammy-winning artist took inspiration from what was already out there.

“I love applying the old approach to newer things,” Lacy said on the official campaign page. “And I think we created something that felt like vintage and modern, which is always something that feels good for everyone, I think, and classic. So I’m really happy with how it came out, and I like how it goes with my outfits.”

The Billboard Hot 100-topping “Bad Habit” singer wanted his exclusive colorway to boast vibes reminiscent of vintage mixing boards from the 1970s. While the base of the case and earbuds are light gray, you’ll notice accents of pink, blue and green for some subtle pops of color, which Lacy noted is “very me, right now” in a press statement.

A limited amount was made for the collaboration, and while it’s sold out online, you can still take advantage of all that the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds have to offer.

Billboard Shopping had the opportunity to test out the brand-new wireless earbuds and love the unique fit and its ability to let you seamlessly have a conversation without having to constantly pause and play your music — or take out an earbud. While the collaboration earbuds are priced at $399, you can save $100 with the first version, which is available in a black or white colorway.

Bose Ultra Open Earbuds

Bose’s Ultra Open Earbuds use a cuff-like design that helps leave your ear open to hear noises around you whether it’s a bicycle or your name called to notify you your morning coffee’s ready. You can switch between immersive audio that’ll provide some noise-cancelling capabilities and they’re waterproof to help prevent rain or dirt from damaging the acoustics. The wireless earbuds have been ranked a No. 1 bestseller on Amazon for open-ear headphones with reviewers praising the long battery life (up to 7.5 hours of play time!) and comfort.

Bose’s official campaign video was creative-directed by Lacy and aims to show just how “powerful” the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds can be. It follows the “Dark Red” singer as he’s taking a walk while listening to music. Along his journey, he completes good deeds within his community using his superhuman strength, which he obtains whenever he’s wearing his Bose earbuds.

There was no place like The Masked Singer on Wednesday, March 13, as the quirky singing contest celebrated “Wizard of Oz” night.
Cleocatra, The Beets, Gumball and Afghan Hound took turns on the mic, each of them facing the prospect of going home early.

The resplendent canine performed “The Lion Sleeps” by the Tokens, the upright feline tackled “Stormy Weather” by Etta James, the sugar-ball dispenser performed a medley of “If I Only Had A Heart” by Jack Haley and “Heartbeat Song” by Kelly Clarkson, and those constantly-smiling roots performed Michael Buble’s “Home.”

The dog and the candy were at the bottom of the list, and they entered a battle to “Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead.” The winner, survives. The loser, bye-bye.

“Wizard of Oz” night wasn’t magical for Afghan Hound, who, after the performances, found herself in the dog house.

The mask came off, revealing reality-TV star, actor, influencer and former beauty queen Savannah Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best.

The stint behind the helmet was, no doubt, a welcome distraction for Chrisley, whose parents were jailed last year after being convicted of federal bank fraud and tax evasion in June 2022.

“Honestly, my life over the past year has changed drastically,” she explained when her identify was revealed and host Nick Cannon asked why she decided to participate in this 11th season. “Lost both my parents to the federal system. And now I have custody of my 15-year-old brother and 10-year-old sister,” a comment that drew concerned faces from judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and newbie Rita Ora.

“So, if I can teach them anything it’s, take every opportunity that comes your way and don’t back down.”

There were lessons learned for Chrisley, too. “I know singing is not for me. I don’t know what a note is, nor do I know what rhythm is,” she continued. “But, it was a good experience.”

Another reason for competing in this 2024 season is “because I know my parents can watch it. And that was a big thing for me.”

Chrisley as Afghan Hound follows the exit of Kevin Hart (as Book) on last week’s season premiere of The Masked Singer.
