There’s just no telling how far the Moana 2 cast will go to perfectly capture their character! It goes without saying that on the upcoming third season of Max’s rich-people-behaving-badly-in-paradise smash, The White Lotus, things are not going great. As usual, director/writer/creator Mike White has gathered a yacht-load of A-list and character actor killers for the latest edition of the show, described in a release as a social satire set “at an exclusive Thai resort,” which once again follows the exploits of guests and employees over the span of a tumultuous week.
The new trailer for the eight-episode seasons slated to premiere on Feb. 16 also puts a further spotlight on BLACKPINK‘s LISA, who makes her acting debut in the series alongside stars Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walter Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Michella Monoghan, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Natasha Rothwell, the latter serving as the only known returning cast member from season two.
As in a previous sneak peek, we see Lisa (listed in the credits by her full name: Lalisa Manobal), as both a prim staff health mentor at the resort, as well as a dancer in a traditional glittering headpiece entertaining guests at a late-night beach party.

Over a montage of sex, fireworks and screaming, an off-camera voice warns: “at the end of the week, you will be an entirely different person,” followed by the maxim/warning, “what happens in Thailand, stays in Thailand.” The eponymous resort is, of course, the real star, serving as a hedonistic playground for the rich and entitled, and, if the trailer tells us anything, as well as the site of at least one murder.
Bibb, Coon and Monoghan play a trio of longtime friends escaping on a girls’ trip, with Lisa making her first appearance as a smiling, waving guest greeter as the series stars arrive on a luxury yacht. “I hope you enjoy Thailand,” she says with a smile to Posey and husband, wealthy businessman Timothy Ratliff (Isaacs).
As in past seasons, the first trailer introduces us to the couples, families and friends looking for a reboot getaway, immediately setting up some of the simmering tensions/personality conflicts in their relationships. Lisa’s character, named Mook, gives a wan smile and joins a fellow employee for a traditional dance mid-way through the preview, with a voiceover intoning, “everyone comes to Thailand, they’re either hiding from someone or they’re looking for someone.”
When Isaacs’ character learns that his fortune has been wiped out things begin going haywire, with a masked gunman holding up a luxury shop, leading a White Lotus security guard to lament “I don’t want to hurt anyone” as he hits the gun range for practice.
“You have to be stronger than this to do this job,” Lisa’s Mook tells him in Thai. As tensions begin to flare cracks show in the various relationships, leading a final, chaotic montage of sex, partying, gunplay and, as usual, at least one bodybag. As with past seasons, White has kept the details of the plot a closely guarded secret so far.
Lisa follows fellow BLACKPINK member JENNIE into the acting lane, with the latter making her debut in the one-season-and-done HBO music drama The Idol, which starred Lily-Rose Depp and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye.
Watch the season 3 The White Lotus trailer below. The White Lotus season 3 debuts on HBO at 9 p.m. on Feb. 16 and will be available to stream on Max afterwards.

From Shygirl’s stunning new collaboration to Kesha’s gorgeous new ballad, check out just a few of our favorite releases from this week below:
Shygirl feat. Isabella Lovestory & PinkPanthress, “True Religion”
Since experiencing a new level of cultural breakthrough in 2024 thanks to her opening slot on Charli XCX & Troye Sivan’s Sweat Tour, UK DJ Shygirl is ready to hook you for good with her latest single. “True Religion” boasts everything fans of Shygirl have come to hope for from her music — a singularly catchy hook (don’t be shocked if you randomly start singing “webcam, webcam, webcam girl” to yourself this weekend), impeccably-chosen guest stars (both Lovestory and PinkPanthress thrive on this bouncing, laid-back track) and a beat that you cannot shake. If “True Religion” doesn’t make you believe in the power of Shygirl, then we’re not sure what will.

Kesha, “Dear Me”
For her contribution to the new documentary Diane Warren: Relentless, Kesha decided to strip back the artifice and sing from the heart. The result is “Dear Me,” a Warren-penned, Guy Roche-produced ballad where Kesha looks back on her younger self and offers some salient advice — primarily, to know that she can get through whatever pain comes her way. It’s no surprise that Kesha sounds as good as she does here; it is surprising, though, to get such a poignant song in a week when so many of us need to hear this.
Lord Huron feat. Kristen Stewart, “Who Laughs Last”
If there’s a rule of thumb for 2025, it’s expect the unexpected. Lord Huron, the indie-rock group slowly gaining steam over the last couple yeas, took that advice to heart when they teamed up with actress, queer icon and now songstress Kristen Stewart for their new single “Who Laughs Last.” Stewart may not sing on the actual track, but her spoken word verses bring an air of mystique and prestige to this certified rock banger, marking one of the most gloriously left-field collaborations we’ve heard in a minute.
Nessa Barrett, “Does God Cry?”
If you’ve been looking for some Aftercare since alt-pop star Nessa Barrett’s stunning 2024 album of the same name, then we have some good news for you. With her new track “Does God Cry?” off the forthcoming deluxe edition of the LP, Barrett delivers a heart-rending, ambient pop single that poses bigger questions through bigger sounds. More to the point, the track takes the dark sonics of her breakout album and twists them into something new and fascinating — as winning a formula for any deluxe track as we’ve seen.
Sophie Powers, “Goals”
Alright, we’ve all had a rough week, so let’s end this list with something unabashedly fun. Rising pop singer Sophie Powers’ latest track “Goals” immediately comes across as 2007 Avril Lavigne-meets-Charli XCX’s Brat, as Sophie snidely declares that she is the bar her haters just can’t reach. A chant-along chorus, glitchy production and gloriously spunky attitude make Powers’ “Goals” a must-listen for anyone who needs to unplug after an otherwise hard few days.

Ally Brooke has a new collaboration up her sleeve and the singer says it’s lowkey one of the favorite projects she’s ever worked on.
Brooke has teamed up with JCPenney on a new clothing collection focused on petite fashions and figure-flattering fits. Dubbed the Bold Elements x Ally Brooke collection, the line includes dresses, tops, pants, suits, jackets and accessories in “misses,” petites and plus sizes. There are 29 pieces in total with with prices starting at $30.
Brooke says she was inspired to create the collection after having trouble finding pieces that fit her body type. In her “Finding Your Harmony” memoir (which was released in 2023), Brooke revealed that she was “incredibly self-conscious” during her time with Fifth Harmony. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, she adds that a lot of her outfits during that period made her feel awkward and unflattering, adding that she “would have loved to have my Bold Elements by Ally Brooke line back then.”

“At 5’0”, I know firsthand how being petite has its challenges, especially in the entertainment industry and in positions of power,” Brooke says in a statement. “I have often been overlooked, whether because of my stature or my identity as a Latina woman. I’m proud to partner with JCPenney to launch this collection because I want every woman to feel empowered and confident with fashion that fits – no matter her size or identity.”
JCPenney, meantime, says the line is designed to bring out the “Big Fashion Energy” in everyone.
“Inclusivity has always been a top priority for JCPenney, and we’re excited to deliver on that promise with this new collection, specifically tailored to petite women – who are often left out of fashion spaces and conversations,” says Marisa Thalberg, Catalyst Brands’ Chief Customer and Marketing Officer.
The Bold Elements x Ally Brooke collection is only available for a limited time so fans should snag the pieces while they can. Shop the collection online at JCPenney.com.

Rossdale rose to widespread fame as the frontman for British rock outfit Bush, who reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with their 1994 debut album, Sixteen Stone, which included charting singles such as “Comedown” and “Glycerine”.
