Randy Rainbow Foresees a Dark Future Under Donald Trump in ‘Xanadu’ Parody Video: Watch

Election Day is less than a week away, and viral comedian Randy Rainbow is making one last pitch against former president Donald Trump in his latest parody video.

On Tuesday (Oct. 29), Rainbow sat down for one more fake interview with the twice-impeached former president, checking in on him as the businessman-turned-politican heads into the final stretch of his campaign (“You look like s–t, how are you feeling?” Rainbow asked with a smile), before wondering aloud why the polls were so close. “I can’t sleep nights,” Rainbow declared. “I keep imagining the dark, hate-filled, Orwellian, deep-fried, comb-over, fever dream hellscape this country will become if your crazy a– wins!”

With the premise set, Rainbow launched into his latest parody track, “Magadu.” Lifting the melody of Olivia Newton-John and the Electric Light Orchestra’s 1980 hit “Xanadu” from the film of the same name, Rainbow immediately takes the song’s premise of a mythical, heavenly place in the track’s title and flips it on its head.

“A place where nobody wants to go/ A country so lame and low/ They call it Magadu,” he sings. “But if you vote for this bag of d–ks/ As soon as Nov. 6/ We’ll be in Magadu!”

As Rainbow speculated about the “dark dystopia of absurd extremes” that would occur under a second Trump presidency, the singer made sure to point to Project 2025, the much-discussed 900-page document outlining a plan for Trump to consolidate power in his second presidency and help impose ultra-conservative policies around the country.

“In the year of Project 2025/ Those creeps gonna kick their creepy plans into overdrive/ No more protections or kindness or joy/ And guess who’s gonna be their poster boy?” Rainbow sings on the bridge. “When Planet Earth dries up and demagogues thrive/ No education and nobody’s free/ They’re gonna set us back a century.”

Closing out his song, Rainbow made his choice in the 2024 election clear as a clip of Vice President Kamala Harris saying “we will not go back” played alongside his final plea: “Let’s no go there, there’s no clean air/ Don’t wanna go, girl, just say no to Magadu!”

Cynthia Erivo Explains Reaction to Fan Edits of ‘Wicked’ Poster: ‘A Human Moment of Wanting to Protect Little Elphaba’

Now that she’s had a few weeks to think it over, Cynthia Erivo says she kind of wishes she’d reached out to a few friends before posting her heated reaction to some viral fan edits of the poster for Wicked. The singer/actress made it very clear earlier this month that she was not cool with the way fans tried to alter the poster for the movie musical co-starring Ariana Grande to make it look more like the original promo shot for the 2003 Broadway musical.

“This is the wildest, most offensive thing I have seen,” said Erivo at the time of the edits that covered her eyes and half her face to make the poster look more like the Broadway original. According to People, Erivo addressed her heated reaction on the red carpet at Monday night’s 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards, where she described why she’s “really protective” of her take on the witch Elphaba.

Trending on Billboard

“I’m passionate about it and I know the fans are passionate about it and I think for me it was just like a human moment of wanting to protect little Elphaba, and it was like a human moment,” she told the magazine. “I probably should have called my friends, but it’s fine.”

The images that set Erivo off were attempts by fans to re-imagine the poster for the Broadway musical, which was an illustration of Elpheba (aka the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch played by Grande in the film) in which Elpheba’s eyes and face were partially obscured. “The original poster is an ILLUSTRATION. I am a real life human being, who chose to look right down the barrel of the camera to you, the viewer,” Erivo wrote on Oct. 16. “…Because, without words we communicate with our eyes.”

“Our poster is an homage not an imitation, to edit my face and hide my eyes is to erase me,” Erivo continued in her original post. “And that is just deeply hurtful.”

The first part of the upcoming two-part take on Wicked will hit theaters on Nov. 22, with Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Bowen Yang and Ethan Slater rounding out the cast.

Here’s the First Trailer for French Montana’s ‘For Khadija’ Documentary: Watch

French Montana‘s story is an “Unforgettable” one. Now, it’s getting the documentary treatment.

The French Montana Story: For Khadija is headed to Paramount+ on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and Billboard has the exclusive first look at the trailer for the new feature.

“I’m a real immigrant, fresh off the boat. No access to nothing to become this dream I always dreamed about,” the three-time Grammy-nominated rapper says in the trailer. “They sell you the dream, they don’t show you the nightmare. The power of music and art … the story for a lot of immigrants out there is sacrifice — to better themselves, to better their family.”

Featuring appearances from Drake, Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Max B, Rick Ross, Harry Fraud, Funkmaster Flex, CokeBoy Zack and Chinx, The French Montana Story surveys the rise of French Montana, a Moroccan-born rapper with billions of streams to his name. From the moment his father abandoned his family — leaving his mother to raise three young sons in the Bronx on her own — to his own unique immigrant journey that took him through the streets of New York to the Billboard charts, French Montana’s tenacity, verve and grit are on full display in his new documentary.

“This is the best project I’ve ever worked on in my life,” Montana said in a press release. “It’s the first blueprint of an immigrant’s music dream, proving that anything is possible and it’s not about the awards, it’s about what we learn from the losses and sacrifices.”

The new documentary isn’t Montana’s first major release in 2024. French Montana has landed eight projects on the Billboard 200, including 2013’s Excuse My French (No. 4) and 2017’s Jungle Rules (No. 3). Musicians Who Are Cat Lovers: Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran & More

Every year on Oct. 29, the United States celebrates National Cat Day — but most cat owners are happy to honor their kitties any day, no matter what part of the world they’re in.

That goes for A-list musicians, too. Some of the biggest names in pop, country and hip-hop have sassy, cuddly, playful, pointy-eared companions waiting for them at home each day, from Katy Perry to Doja Cat, Adele, Kesha and more. And then there’s Taylor Swift, who’s so obsessed with her felines, she’s incorporated them into her music multiple times — singing “guess I’ll just stumble on home to my cats” on “Gorgeous,” and “Karma is a cat, purring in my lap ’cause it loves me” on “Karma.”

A lot of stars also make their own social media accounts for their pets, allowing followers to nurture fandom not just for them, but for their animals, too. Justin Bieber’s kitties have a following of nearly 300,000 on Instagram, for example, while Ed Sheeran’s cats are close behind in numbers.

And just like non-famous humans, many musicians have their own favorite breeds of cats. Swift is known for her love of Scottish Folds, while Bieber paid a pretty penny ($35,000!) in 2019 for a pair of spotted Bengals. Other singers are content with more common types of felines, such as Black cats and Tabbies.

No matter the breed or amount of followers, though, the cats featured on this list are loved through and through by their famous owners. Keep reading to see which musicians are certified cat lovers, from Adele to Sabrina Carpenter, below.
