Charlamagne Tha God cracked jokes on the new House of Representatives Speaker over an X-rated claim as he was hosting The Daily Show.
Charlamagne Tha God kicked off his guest stint as host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central on Monday (Oct. 30), by zeroing in on the new Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives during his opening monologue. “Last week, Republicans decided that the new Speaker of the House would be Mike Johnson, Louisiana congressman. I don’t know who the f*ck he is either,” he began.

The Breakfast Club host then played a clip from the Sean Hannity show on Fox News, where the congressman was interviewed. Hannity asked Johnson about his religious fundamentalist stance, particularly about an anti-LGBTQ legal document in which he wrote that “there is no clear right to sodomy in the Constitution.” Charlamagne showed his obvious confusion over Johnson’s comments.
“I mean, yeah, it would’ve been weird if they put sodomy in the Constitution, right?” he said, before detailing his vision on how the Founding Fathers would’ve gone about discussing it: “So we’re all agreed: There’s gonna be no king, there will be three branches of government and we’re all cool with butt stuff.”
“The Constitution never would’ve been finished if they spent all that time specifying what was and what wasn’t allowed, OK?” he continued. “And just to be clear there’s no right to sodomy in the Constitution but there is a clause: you can get it on your birthday.” Charlamagne Tha God ended off with this note: “The point is, the Speaker of The House is a hardcore Christian whose worldview is just the Bible…Imagine if Ilhan Omar was like my views are basically everything in the Quran. Even Muslims would be like “As-salama hell no,” OK?!”

Funkmaster Flex has rekindled his beef with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy after being named in a cease and desist letter from them.
On Sunday (Oct. 1), the veteran HOT 97 radio host and DJ shared on social media that he had been named in a cease and desist letter from a legal firm representing victims of a real estate scam that DJ Envy is allegedly involved in. “BIG DOG? @DJENVY I THINK THEY NAMED U IN THIS $1,400,000 REAL ESTATE LAWSUIT? YOU LAWYER IS OK WITH ME MENTIONING SINCE THIS IS PUBLIC RECORD?” he wrote in the caption of the now-deleted Instagram post.
DJ Envy has been embroiled in legal issues stemming from being sued along with real estate investor couple Cesar and Jennifer Pinas in August by Anthony Barone and Anthony Martini. The two claim the radio host and the couple engaged them to be part of an apartment complex development deal, but the project fell through and they haven’t gotten their investment money back. DJ Envy has pushed back on the allegations, claiming in a radio interview that he had lost $500,000 in a separate deal with the Pinas.
Funk Flex then turned his attention to DJ Envy’s co-host Charlamagne Tha God by sharing a screenshot of a Vibe magazine story referring to where he was previously accused of sexual assault in a subsequent Instagram post. “UMMMMM? YOU CAUGHT ANOTHER (NEW) LAWSUIT APRIL 21, 2023? I DONT THINK U SETTLED THAT? @cthagod (AND YOU CALLING PEOPLE PATHETIC?) LET YOUR LAWYER KNOW I CAN TALK ABOUT THIS CAUSE VIBE MAG ALREADY DID? TOMORROW! 7PM! @HOT97,” he wrote.
The animosity had been brewing for Flex since the previous Thursday night on his radio show, where Rick Ross made an appearance to promote his latest single with Meek Mill, “Shaq & Kobe.” Both cracked jokes about Envy and the legal trouble he’s in. “Nah, we ain’t selling fake houses!” Ross said. “We not gon’ steal no old lady houses. You going to hell for that.”
“I heard he just accused his man of taking advantage of him, too,” Ross continued. “You’re doing the fraud, you’re telling on your man? Damn.”
“Dreamchasers over here, house chasers over there,” Flex answered.
They also had jokes for Charlamagne Tha God, suggesting that he leave Power 105.1 to join HOT 97 with Flex claiming he could get him a job “washing sneakers.”

Charlamagne Tha God revealed to Kevin Hart that renowned author Judy Blume was his “ultimate dream interview” recently while on a podcast.
The media personality was a recent guest on the newest episode of the Gold Minds with Kevin Hart podcast series, which is a joint collaboration between SiriusXM and Hart’s media company, Hartbeat. As they spoke, The Breakfast Club host spoke highly of the well-regarded young adult author,
“I just did one [interview] that will be coming out real soon and it was with somebody who absolutely, positively has shaped my life from afar, just being a fan of their work and I cannot wait for that conversation comes out,” Charlamagne began. “I might as well tell you who it is…It’s with Judy Blume!” He explained: “I love Judy Blume because my mom was an English teacher and she would always tell me to read things that don’t pertain to me. So when I would go to the library, I’d see these books with these little white boys and white girls on the front and I’m like, well that’s nothing like my life so I would read all of her work and I fell in love with her.”
Both men also spoke about Charlamagne’s own personal evolution, with Hart and the media personality joking about his time with Wendy Williams beforehand. “How do you personally feel about your progression to this point? Is it surreal to you, or is it expected?” Hart asked. “It’s still surreal. My mother gave me a piece of advice nine, ten years ago that I still hold onto – ‘just be happy you’re making a living.”, Charlamagne responded.
The two also discussed the growth of The Breakfast Club to becoming a significant platform for the culture in recent years, with Hart noting how he would make it a point with his team to ensure that any time he went to New York City, he would be booked on the show. “I can say that I really started to look at you guys like “wow” when I saw how you went into the political stuff,” the comedian said.
The Gold Minds with Kevin Hart podcast is available now on all podcast platforms.

Charlamagne Tha God has made a request for a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit from a sexual assault case, claiming that there is a lack of evidence.
According to reports, The Breakfast Club host and his legal team filed a motion requesting the dismissal of a lawsuit against him by alleged victim Jessica Reid. The lawsuit, filed last year, accused Charlamagne of “willfully, unlawfully, and feloniously engage in penile/vaginal intercourse with a fifteen-year-old female child” when he was 22 in Charleston, South Carolina. Reid stated that the host spread “false, insulting” claims about her when he came forward about the 2001 incident, including calling her a “groupie.”

“[Alleged victim Jessica Reid] has persisted in broadly disseminating her unsubstantiated claims, ignoring that the South Carolina Solicitor in 2018 declined her request to re-open the case due to a lack of evidence while confirming that no basis existed to bring sexual assault charges against Charlamagne,” the motion reads. “Witnesses had attested to the fact that Charlamagne had already left the party when the alleged assault occurred.”
The 37-year-old pointed to him telling his side of the story in his book, Black Privilege, calling his depiction of the incident “wrong, hurtful and defaming.” She is seeking unspecified damages and a full retraction of his statements. In the lawsuit, Reid alleged that she met the shock jock through a mutual friend, and attended a birthday party thrown for him at the Short Stay Naval Recreation Center on June 8th, 2001. She would allege that she imbibed a drink given to her by Charlamagne, which left her dizzy to the point of collapse. It was at that moment two other men had taken her upstairs, where she was assaulted. She alleges that Charlamagne also assaulted her afterward. Reid previously claimed that her mother actively blocked her from cooperating with law enforcement officials who were investigating the incident.
Charlamagne Tha God would be indicted on the charges of “contributing to the delinquency of a minor” and criminal sexual conduct with a minor in 2001 but would go on to accept a plea deal the next year that was offered by prosecutors due to lack of evidence. He would eventually be sentenced to three years probation.
