Shedeur Sanders was one of the many professional football hopefuls awaiting to hear his name called during the first round of the NFL Draft. However, Shedeur Sanders was not among those selected, and fans on social media are debating why NFL teams passed on the quarterback.
Shedeur Sanders, 23, is the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders and played under his father at both Jackson State University and the University of Colorado. In a league that covets the position of quarterback, it remains baffling to some observers why Sanders was passed over despite solid numbers in a winning season last year at Colorado.

From what we gleaned from chatter on X, it appears that some felt that Sanders’ confident attitude, no doubt inspired by his father, might have been considered too brash for some NFL general managers, and there could be other factors at play. Others are suggesting that Sanders is not a complete quarterback, in particular, the fact that he took a lot of hits while remaining too long in the pocket.
Sanders is taking the first-round snub in stride, sharing a video statement on his YouTube page, which has been clipped up for social media. In the chat, Sanders displayed more of that winning bravado that he’s become known for and said that the supposed snub, as some are saying it was, shouldn’t have happened.

The second round of the NFL Draft kicks off today at 7 PM ET.
On X, the reactions to Shedeur Sanders being skipped over in the first round of the draft.

Shannon Sharpe will step down from his obligations at ESPN as he and his legal team are fighting a $50 million lawsuit alleging sexual assault. The unnamed woman, named in the lawsuit as Jane Doe, is currently being represented by Tony Buzbee in the matter.

Shannon Sharpe, 56, is accused of sexual assault and battery by Jane Doe, whose legal team has named in a public statement. Doe is reportedly an OnlyFans model who says she met Sharpe in 2023 at a Los Angeles gym when she was 19.

With more details coming forth, including a filmed video statement earlier this week from Sharpe, the controversy began to grow by the minute as Buzbee’s side released text messages that could support Doe’s claims of rape and assault.

Taking to social media, Shannon Sharpe delivered a written statement announcing his move to step away from ESPN as this matter moves ahead.

“At this juncture[,] I am electing to step aside temporarily from my ESPN duties,” a portion of the statement reads. “I will be devoting this time to family, and responding and dealing with these false and disruptive allegations set against me.”

Sharpe contends that the relationship between him and Doe was consensual and is asking for Doe’s team to release all the documents and evidence connected to the lawsuit.

Rev. Jamal Bryant made waves after announcing a 40-day “fast” of sorts from shopping at Target, and now the clergyman wants to extend the boycott. After assessing Target’s response to demands made by organizers to restore their rolled-back DEI initiatives, Rev. Bryant feels that the corporation hasn’t felt enough pressure.

Rev. Jamal Bryant, the lead pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in the Atlanta metropolitan area, shared an announcement on his Target Fast website thanking supporters of the Lent-inspired fast and shopping at the major retailer. He then shared his renewed focus on moving past the fast and continuing to cease all shopping until changes to DEI at the company are implemented.

From Target Fast:

We are entering a new phase of this movement. What began as the Target FAST — a moral witness and urgent call for justice — now evolves into a full Target BOYCOTT. This shift marks not an end, but a deepening of our commitment to justice and accountability.

Until Target comes to the table with serious, concrete proposals to meet our four demands, we will remain in this posture. Silence and delay are no longer acceptable. Our communities deserve action, not platitudes. Our demands are not radical — they are righteous, reasonable, and long overdue.

It is vital to remember: this boycott is a coalition effort. It is not about any single individual, personality, or public figure. It is about people. It is about power. It is about principle. We stand shoulder to shoulder — workers, organizers, elders, youth, people of faith, people of conscience — in a collective refusal to support a corporation that refuses to hear us.

According to several reports, Target appears to be feeling the brunt of the boycotts with declining shopper numbers since the company did away with DEI, seemingly in response to President Donald Trump’s administration essentially scaling down the practice.

A new documentary has been announced by the BBC titled P Diddy: The Rise and Fall, which will examine the life and current circumstances of Sean “Diddy” Combs. Yinka Bokinni will serve as the lead journalist investigating the finer points of Combs’ status, from being a mogul to where he currently stands, as he faces a legal battle for the ages.

The BBC announced that the upcoming documentary will undoubtedly bring into focus the fame, power, and influence that Combs gained over the years as the head of Bad Boy Records and producing several hit songs for artists under his guidance. The documentary will also peer behind the veil and reveal how Combs allegedly used his stature to control others, dole out violent threats, along with countless reports of sexual assault and abuse.

Combs will face trial next month over charges related to racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, among other heinous claims. Combs and his legal team have claimed that their side is innocent despite mounting complaints filed by accusers.

In a statement, Bokinni said, “My job is to tell stories—but never did I imagine I’d be telling this one. Investigating the alleged actions of Diddy has forced a spotlight onto the darker side of an industry so many of us dream of belonging to. We sang his songs, bought into the lifestyle, watched the shows and wanted more. This has been an emotional, sometimes difficult experience. And with a trial on the horizon, what happens next will no doubt be gripping—in the most sobering way.”

P Diddy: The Rise and Fall airs this coming Monday (April 28) on BBC Three and Player. Learn more here.

Kanye West has been on an active social media tear of late, and his stream-of-consciousness style of sharing his mind revealed a shocking admission. Referencing a track titled “COUSINS,” Kanye West shared that an older cousin currently behind bars engaged in sexual acts with him, prompting Ferg and Boosie BadAzz to speak out in support.
We do wish to warn readers that the details of this post might be disturbing to some.
Over the weekend, Kanye West took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared details about being exposed to adult magazines and such at a young age and how they led to him engaging in inappropriate acts with an older cousin. That same cousin, according to West, is a convicted murderer who allegedly killed a pregnant woman.

In the string of tweets, West wrote, “Perhaps in my self centered mess I felt it was my fault that I showed him [the cousin in reference] those dirty magazines when he was 6 and then we acted out what we saw My dad had playboy magazines but the magazines I found in the top of my moms closet were different My name is Ye and I sucked my cousins d*ck till I was 14.”
Some online have interpreted West’s words to imply he conducted the sexual acts on his  family member under his control and that the cousin was younger. However, it hasn’t been confirmed if the acts were consensual or not, as West didn’t explain the situation in linear detail, nor did he give a range of time.
Ferg, who shared a harrowing experience of abuse on the track “Pool” from his Darold album from 2024. Ferg took to X and wrote, “Good for @kanyewest now you can be whole. When people start to act out you never know the root of the issue ! Sending love brother your a goat.”
Boosie BadAzz also offered support, although a lot less eloquently than Ferg.
DAM KANYEI FEEL BAD FOR THIS DUDE THIS DUDE BEEN THREW SOME SH*T BRA. THE RANTS MAKE SINCE NOW. THIS MAN WAS SUCKING D*CK AS A CHILD SMH HIS MIND IS F*CKED UPI HATE HIM HAVING TO GO THROUGH THIS AS A CHILD.”
We’re sharing the X replies mentioned above in the playlist gallery, along with reactions from X.

Eugene “Big U” Henley Jr., a notable music executive with ties to the late Nipsey Hussle, is in the crosshairs of federal prosecutors for his alleged role as a gang leader. According to prosecutors, Big U is seeking the assistance of President Donald Trump, whom he reportedly referred to as the “Orange Man.”

The Los Angeles Times reports that Big U, 58, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge A. Joel Richlin in Los Angeles in a pre-trial hearing on Tuesday (April 22) where it was ruled that the alleged Rollin 60s Crips leader will remain behind bars as he awaits trial. Richlin read off the list of charges Henley faces and considered him a flight risk and a danger to the community, thus why he will remain jailed.

Henley currently faces a 43-count indictment with charges ranging from violating RICO laws, embezzlement of charity donations, tax evasion, and the alleged murder of a rapper that was under his tutelage.

“Even in his short time in custody, he is up to his old tricks, once again trying to use some of those same celebrities for his personal gain,” the government stated in a briefing ahead of the Tuesday hearing. “He has even suggested that he can manipulate the President of the United States into intervening in the case and dropping the charges, even as he simultaneously derisively refers to the President as ‘the orange man’ while in custody. This Court should not be fooled by the good deeds defendant promises to accomplish if only he could close the detention doors behind him.”

A pretrial conference is scheduled for May 9. Big U has pleaded not guilty.

Wiz Khalifa would never get confused with being seen as an authority on scientific matters, and we don’t intend that to come off as a diss but just a fact. Wiz Khalifa probably didn’t do himself any favors regarding that assessment after appearing on a Patreon episode of The Joe Budden Podcast discussing and seemingly defending Earth being flat.
On episode 817 of The Joe Budden Podcast, the cast discussed the validity of Earth being flat with co-hosts Dr. Marc Lamont Hill and Antwan “Ish” Marby engaging in a light debate. While Ish never fully stated he believed in the Earth being flat, he maintained some skepticism based on things he’s viewed over the years. Hill pushed back slightly, but the crew breezed by the topic on the main podcast.

Taking to Patreon, the gang invited Wiz Khalifa to the set for its “Full Journey” episode with the Pittsburgh rapper. A viewer on X, formerly Twitter, clipped up Wiz speaking on the Earth being flat and with the caption reading, “This might literally be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Podcasts were a mistake.”
“I just believe we live on a flat plane,” Wiz began, while receiving an approving dap from Ish. He continued, “It’s only because I travel so much.”
Hill tried to challenge Wiz on the theory, but the conversation never righted itself after the “Black and Yellow” star broke down how he arrived at his conclusion despite scientists debunking the theory long ago.
We’ve got the video in question by way of X, along with reactions from others who’ve seen the clips. As expected, the responses are all over the place.

Jordan Peele is continuing to innovate the horror genre by producing films that platform Black actors and tell stories in a realm where they’re either rarely seen or offed far too quickly. HIM, produced by Peele, stars Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers, examines the high cost of fame and the sacrifices some would make to obtain greatness.

Produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, HIM stars Wayans as Isaiah White, a star professional quarterback in his waning years who mentors rising quarterback Cameron Cade, played by Withers, who some might remember from the “Rich Wigga, Poor Wigga” episode of Atlanta from show creator Donald Glover.

In a trailer for HIM delivered last Friday (April 18), White is the top quarterback of his team and takes in Cade to train him in an isolated compound. What Cade discovers in his journey is that the price of sports excellence will cost him dearly, and it appears White is attempting to cast his curse onto his young protege.

HIM, which was initially titled GOAT, is directed by Justin Tipping, who was the director and writer for 2016’s Kicks and was the director and producer for the television show Flatbush Misdemeanors, among other works.

The film is slated for a September 19 release. Check out the trailer below.

Shannon Sharpe found his name trending this week after the former NFL star was hit with a $50 million lawsuit from a woman who alleges that Sharpe sexually assaulted her. In response, Shannon Sharpe’s legal team shared a series of explicit texts and framed the lawsuit as an orchestrated shakedown attempt by her legal counsel.
We would like to warn readers that the details described in this report might be disturbing to some. Do proceed carefully.

As seen on NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk site, Shannon Sharpe was hit with the lawsuit on Sunday (April 20) that was filed in Nevada, with the complaint from a Jane Doe alleging sexual assault, battery,  and inflicting emotional distress. Jane Doe said in the filing that she and Sharpe were in a “rocky consensual relationship” that lasted almost two years, according to reports. The woman also said that Sharpe recorded their encounters without her consent and that he shared the footage without her approval to do so.

The complaint added that when an allegedly leaked sexual encounter with another unnamed woman and Sharpe went viral, she took steps to dissolve their relationship. In October of last year, Jane Doe added that Sharpe came into contact with her after she attempted to end their relationship and that he allegedly forced himself on the woman. At the top of the year, Jane Doe said that during an encounter with Sharpe, she tried to get. him to use protection during sex, which he seemingly refused.
As this is a civil case and not a criminal matter, there would be just financial damages to be paid and no time behind bars for Sharpe, who currently runs a successful podcast and is part of ESPN’s First Take morning show team. Jane Doe is represented by Tony Buzbee and Michah Nash.
Sharpe’s attorney, Lanny Davis, issued a statement firing back at Jane Doe and named the woman who is accusing the Hall of Fame tight end. A portion of Davis’ statment read that the lawsuit is a “blatant and cynical attempt to shake down Mr. Sharpe for millions of dollars. It is filled with lies, distortions, and misrepresentations — and it will not succeed.”
The statement also included the explicit messages that Jane Doe allegedly exchanged between Sharpe and the woman, although the validity of the messages cannot be confirmed at this time.
Shannon Sharpe’s name is still trending on the X platform in the wake of the news. We’ve got reactions from all sides below.
