The end of 2024 is upon us and that means holiday festivities, gift swapping, and a lot of eating and drinking if we’re lucky. For those of us who indulge in cannabis products, this is a fine time to get gifted or hand out some holiday cheer so let’s get into it.
As my coverage of cannabis continues to take shape, I’m learning more and more about the wide uses for the plant and how it doesn’t always have to end up in a blunt, joint, or bong for me to get the relief and effects I want. I’ll level with readers and say I’m not much into flower but if it’s already rolled, I’ll indulge in a fresh “j” here and there. My preferred method of use is vaporizers, edibles, and concentrates and I’m more of a sativa or sativa-leaning hybrid kind of guy. I find it helps me with my ADHD, joint pain, and general mood.
In this short list, I’m listing brands I’ve tried in my travels across the country along with brands that have select locales but are still worth highlighting. Heck, you might be one of those frequent flight hoppers like myself so this can aid in your search for good products.
I do want to say that before we end this post and lock it down until 2025, please indulge in cannabis safely and observe the rules and laws in your respective hometowns. I hope all of you have an amazing holiday season and we’ll see you at the top of the year.
For now, enjoy this handy cannabis gift guide. Let us know in the comments what some of your faves are.

Jay-Z joined the growing ranks of celebrities in the cannabis space via the high-end Monogram brand, coupled with endorsements from his creative and artistic peers. Now, it’s being reported that Jay-Z’s brand, initially boasting $575 million in funds, has blown through the cash and can’t even be found in stores in dispensaries where advertised online.
In a report from SFGate, Jay-Z, birth name Shawn Carter, joined the cannabis space in 2020 with Monogram, and it came replete with the level of class and luxury expected of anything Hov puts his name on. Boasting a quartet of strains and pre-roll packages, Monogram was believed to be one of the major players, considering its top pitchman’s success in business.
Fast forward to 2024 and it doesn’t appear that the brand ever got its footing. illustrating this point, any potential buyer of Monogram wouldn’t be able to as none of its listed partner dispensaries in California and Arizona carried the product.
The outlet spoke with Seth Yakatan, an investor and adviser who worked with the California legal cannabis sector, and said that Monogram’s parent company, The Parent Company (TPCO), spent high amounts of cash which is evidenced by its seven-part video series featuring Jadakiss, Tinashe, Curren$y, 2 Chainz, and Chika among others.
Monogram was formed on the back of an investment round raised by The Parent Company, which consists of three cannabis businesses with TPCO going public in 2020 via a special-purpose acquisition company which SFGate explained as a fundraising method that fast-tracked a huge haul of cash. In all, TPCO oversaw 20 cannabis retail brands, several grow houses — places where cannabis is grown — and retail stores based in California.
Much of Monogram’s success was based on market projections made by TPCO and was expected to rake in $334 million after announcing the launch. However, as the story notes, California’s competitive market had to compete against itself amid high taxation, falling wholesale prices, and even illegal cannabis sales thus causing many businesses to close up shop.
SFGate also reports that Monogram is no longer in business with TPCO, with the split reportedly taking place two years ago. Monogram is now owned by an LLC connected to the Gold Flora brand, which absorbed TPCO’s business thus making them a minority owner.

With the Thanksgiving holiday dominating many of the happenings this week, we imagine some want options outside of food, football, and family time, great as those things are. For cannabis fans, this time is also “Danksgiving” and we’ve got a nice gift guide that can help with your shopping needs as we head into the gift-giving seasons.
Cannabis figures prominently in my life more than ever, and I’m learning more about its uses beyond feeling good. These days, my approach to cannabis is about its vast therapeutic benefits and not necessarily rolling up and getting baked. Again, while the flower fans out there can and should enjoy that delivery method for their cannabis, there are other ways to experience the plant product.
Of the brands listed below, I’ve tried out a significant portion and I will be clear on the brands or products I don’t know about. Naturally, some products are not widely available along the East Coast where I reside but I do travel quite a bit and always make it a point to check out legal dispensaries in other states.
In doing these gift guide roundups, I’ve found brands that I’d mention with high praise even if they weren’t connected to the gig. Seriously, folks, these brands are leading a brand new charge in the cannabis space.
Check out our Danksgiving cannabis gift guide below and be sure to check some of the brands for Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales.
If we missed your brand or want to be considered in the future, please email D.L. Chandler at dchandler@bhmdigital.com.

Halloween is upon us and the night full of fun and frights will be celebrated by more than those who decide to don a costume for the day. For the grownups out there looking to bring a boost to their night, we have our new 2024 Halloween cannabis gift guide to help.As I always do when I put together these guides, I need to stress that cannabis is meant for users over 21 years of age. I don’t encourage overindulgence nor do I think anyone should take the use of THC or CBD products lightly. For those of us with cultivated tastes, how we choose to approach the plant is a personal choice and we should sensibly imbibe just as we would with alcohol. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I wasn’t much into Halloween as a kid and much less so as an adult. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a good horror film or a haunted hay ride. Now well into my adulthood, cannabis figures prominently in my life and I will be taking part in some of my favorite treats of years past.In some ways, this guide is just as vital for me as it is for the reader as I plan on enjoying my favorite cannabis brands and products through Halloween and the coming weekend.Below, you’ll see some familiar brands and some new entries as well. Again, I say to those who choose to partake, please do so responsibly. We’ve got some more holidays to spend together.Happy Halloween to all.NOTE: This post will be updated through Halloween.

HipHopWired Featured Video
Today is 710 Day and we hope the cannabis-themed holiday will be celebrated safely and around people you truly rock with. To aid in the festivities, Roger Volodarsky, the founder and CEO of Puffco, put together a dope 10-track Hip-Hop playlist just in time for 710 Day.
I interviewed Roger Volodarsky last year for the site and the Brooklyn native shared not only his life story and the early days of Puffco, but also the fact he’s a big Hip-Hop head. As fellow fans of the Flatbush Zombies and the whole Beast Coast collective, Roger and I found a connection in our shared fandom of Zombie Juice of the Flatbush Zombies.
I suggested that Volodarsky put together his favorite collection of Hip-Hop songs in a playlist and he came up with an idea far better than mine. Taking time out of his busy schedule running all things Puffco, Volodarsky whipped together 10 tracks for 710 Day that aren’t your typical “stoner” fare.
The playlist opens up with one of my favorite songs, “Barz Simpson,” featuring the vocal talents of rapper and producer Sonnyjim alongside the late MF DOOM and the elusive Jay Electronica. Next up is Larry June’s “89 Earthquake” from the rapper’s collaborative project with The Alchemist, The Great Escape.
Any playlist with Dr. Baklava aka Action Bronson is a solid one and Volodarsky dug into the archives and placed “Imported Goods” on the playlist. The rest of the list is rounded out with tracks from recent XXL Freshman That Mexican OT, Moneybagg Yo, Peso Pluma, Quavo, Key Glock, Jgrrey, Zombie Juice, King Hendrick$, and Boldy James.
The variety of songs that Roger Volodarsky put together is impressive and kind of follows my CRT FRSH playlist ethos of mixing up all kinds of sounds no matter the region. There is no East Coast or West Coast bias, just dope songs from acts you should know and maybe others you’ll come to know. Follow the homie on his IG page here.
For now, check out the playlist below and have a happy 710 Day!

This Wednesday (July 10), cannabis enthusiasts, especially those who dab, will partake in a holiday with dubious origins but no less celebrated than 420. 710 Day, which we’ll try to explain below, is centered on the cannabis delivery methods of dabbing, hash oil, concentrates, and the devices that make it all possible.
According to an article posted by The Leaf Online, 710 Day was created to celebrate the use of dabs, oils, and concentrates. It is largely attributed to rapper, cannabis activist, and industry innovator, Taskrok.
More from The Leaf Online:
“710 (at least the 710 buzz that has grown today) was started in TinyChat with me, Healthstone, and the Beehive guys. They suggested we make a new time to take dabs at as they didn’t really resonate with 420 anymore. I was the one who suggested 710 because it clicked in my head that it spelled oil upside down.” Task went on in the comments to make his views on the matter of ownership clear, “I don’t want to try to own it though. It belongs to the community now.”
The article goes into far deeper depth and it’s worth a read if you’re wondering how the 710 Movement became powerful enough to inspire a brand new, cannabis-focused holiday.
My own experiences with dabbing have been a journey as well. The late Rico Valderrama, better known to the cannabis industry as Phone Homie, was the first person who taught me about the practice. In essence, dabbing is vaporizing small amounts of cannabis oil, resin, or concentrates using what’s known as a dab rig — a device that uses a heated nail to vaporize whatever the product is being used to produce a potent hit on inhale that will be unlike anything you can find in smoking flower.
Dabbing can also apply to vaporizer pens that can either hold a screw-on pre-filled oil cartridge, or load in your preferred concentrate which goes under many names such as shatter, wax, budder, etc.
Phone Homie was more than just an activist and brand creator. He also educated newbies like me on the effectiveness of dabbing, the fact it caused less waste, and the feeling experienced was, in a word, cleaner. I’ll be the first to admit that dabbing is a lot easier thanks to various e-rigs, basically updated versions of the standard dab rigs of old.
Below, you’ll see several brands we’ve featured in our past 420 guides along with products and suggestions for those who wish to join the celebration. As always, consume cannabis as responsibly as you can and be sure to keep away from those under the age requirements in your respective states.
Happy 710 Day to all!

Vessel has a 710 sale going on right now so if I were you, I’d rush over there before it ends.

The beauty of Father’s Day is that it is a time to celebrate the old man who was always in your corner, or just had an ear for you when it was a tough time. Dads are also versatile people and some of them are cannabis enthusiasts or maybe a little curious so we’ve whipped together a handy Father’s Day gift guide for the Canna-Dads out there.Similar to the guides I’ve done before, I’ll mention some cannabis brands we’ve either tried or hope to do so very shortly. I also want to make clear that some of these products have limited availability and I’ll try to add that information in the description.Lastly, I always want to let readers know that cannabis is intended for individuals over the age of 18 and always want to encourage moderation, even if it’s for therapeutic use. At the end of the day, there is a medical component to cannabis that shouldn’t be ignored. The stigma around cannabis is largely moving into the realm of acceptance and as a cannabis user myself, I appreciate that science and data are highlighting the benefits versus putting an emphasis on getting stoned although there isn’t anything wrong with that. For now, enjoy our 2024 Father’s Day Cannabis gift guide, and Happy Father’s Day to you all.

2. Airgraft
Source:Airgraft
Airgraft takes the art of vaping far more seriously than I’ve ever seen in the industry in my short time covering it. For starters, the pods are uniquely preset and have to be unlocked using a smartphone to scan a QR code and from there, the magic happens. I don’t want to give it away because it’s genuinely cool. Available in California, Ohio, Missouri, and Washington state.
3. Alien Labs
Source:Alien Labs
Founded in 2014 by Ted Lidie, Alien Labs is a brand that leans into a bit of skater and pop culture, but not in the corny way that some do it. With expertly curated strains delivered via edibles, flower, and vapes, live resin, Alien Labs has everything you need to take off to the stars.

14. GALYNA

The intersection of skincare and cannabis hasn’t been something I’ve examined much in my coverage but GALYNA certainly piqued my interest. 30. VESSEL
Source:Vessel
I like to think of VESSEL as an accessory shop for the classy cannabis connoisseur. Pictured is the brand’s Compass Rise, which protects your cart, allows you to store it upright, and looks damn cool.

CLOSE
Cannabis fans, it’s time to celebrate as 420 (or 4:20 or 4/20) is here this weekend and we’ve got a gift guide that should come in handy. Depending on where you are, you can snag yourself one of the offerings below to get your mind and the vibes right.
As I say every time I put together one of these roundups, I’m a proud cannabis user but I tend to focus on function versus feeling good. There is nothing wrong with being stoned but I’ve got way too much to do so I’m the kind of person that prefers small doses, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t indulged on a higher level. No pun intended.
In this guide, I’ve added some brands you may have seen before in my coverage along with others that are new to me. What I’m enjoying as cannabis usage is more widely accepted is the range of innovation and products available to the market. When I was a much younger man, it was just flower and whatever cheap delivery method you could find.
These days, edibles, carts, e-rigs, infused beverages, and more are dominating the space and the world is better for it. Hopefully, you’ll see a product below that will be your new favorite. We do want to urge that these products are made for individuals who are at least 21 years of age and please use them responsibly.
Let’s have a safe 420 weekend!
P.S. I will be gradually updating this post with more offerings as the day goes on. If you don’t see your brand yet, grant me a little patience or give me a kind shout. Thanks.

HipHopWired Featured Video
Cookies, the cannabis and lifestyle brand founded by multifaceted entrepreneur Berner, and The Freak Brothers, a comic book and animated series, are joining forces in a new partnership. Via the new collaboration, Cookies and The Freak Brothers are releasing a limited-edition CookiesSF clothing capsule, along with a hefty infused preroll and more.
As Berner continues to expand his empire, the launch of the new LSD Joint coincides with the rapper joining the voice cast of The Freak Brothers series, which also stars Tiffany Haddish, Woody Harrelson, John Goodman, Pete Davidson, and others.
The LSD Joint, which drops on 420 Eve (April 19), is a 2.5g infused preroll point that speaks to fans who grew up with the comics and those indoctrinated to the brand via the animated series. The LSD Joint comes in a glow-in-the-dark tube and is adorned with a scannable QR code that unlocks related artwork.
“We felt like ‘LSD Joint’ was an appropriate name for our collab given the Freak Brothers are from the ’70s, from San Francisco, and this joint is EXTREMELY strong. We will be dropping our collab with the Freaks on 4/19, available at all of our California stores,” said Berner, co-founder and CEO of Cookies. “I love that the animated show is so weed-friendly and done with class. I’m incredibly excited to announce that I am joining the Freak Brothers show alongside an epic cast.”
Courtney Solomon, Freak Brothers’ CEO and show Executive Producer, added, “We’re excited to welcome Berner to the show. His proven track record of innovation and his authentic love of cannabis culture is a perfect marriage with the Freak Brothers. We look forward to a long collaboration together.”
It may come as a surprise to some but considering that the animated series spawned from The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers in the late 1960s, they have never collaborated in the wider cannabis space despite the deep connections to that world.
This is the first-ever official cannabis product for The Freak Brothers, so we wanted to lean into the cool trippy Bay Area heritage shared by both brands while producing a product the Freaks themselves would have loved to spark up,” said Greg Goldner, Head of Brand & Strategy for Freak Brothers.
Seasons 1 and 2 of The Freak Brothers are available on Tubi now. Learn more about the show here.
