Katy Perry celebrated American Idol‘s 21st anniversary by posting a picture from her own sweet 21. The now-38-year-old singer shared the fresh-faced pic with fans on Sunday (March 5), in which she posed makeup-free in a tan, fringed-sleeve t-shirt while smiling into the camera.
“#idol is celebrating its 21st bday this year. When I turned 21 I rented a roller skating rink 🛼 and had McDonald’s 🫶🏼 “cater” along w/ 2 kegs in the middle of the rink,” Perry wrote in the caption to the backstage snap. “And two friends broke bones but we had a lot of fun (so I was told idk I had just turned 21 🤸🏻♀️🍹) anyway watch #idol rn.” The singer also encouraged her fans to let her know what they did for their 21st, if they can remember it.
Their answers were hilarious, ranging from a dinner at Olive Garden with mom and dad and a first taste of wine (with the ‘rents, anyway), to a trip to the hospital for gallbladder surgery and a pregnant woman who went to see the Ramones. There was even the tale of a Hawaiian-themed party in snow-packed Vail, Colorado in Dec. 1985 where all the guests showed up in shorts and Hawaiian shirts.
Perry has been posting up at the Idol judge’s desk since 2018 with Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan and the trio kicked off the show’s 21st season on Feb. 19; Idol airs on ABC on Sundays at 8 p.m.

Justin Bieber celebrated his 29th birthday with a carnival-themed blowout that drew an A-list crowd of friends and fellow musicians over the weekend. Bieber commemorated the event by posting a series of snaps from the celebration on Sunday (March 5), including one with superfan-turned-pal Billie Eilish — smiling as she points to Justin, who is decked out in a backwards blue baseball hat, grey sweatshirt and baggy blue tie-dye cargo pants.
The series from photographer Ryan Kramer also finds Bieber — whose birthday was on March 1 — staring up at some unseen object while surrounded by a forest of colorful balloons and performing a private concert for his pals from a stage featuring a huge rainbow surrounded by colorful mushroom sculptures.
The slideshow also captures Leon Bridges performing with a band, with Justin sitting in on drums and then hopping up to give Bridges a huge hug. That run of pics has Justin hanging with rapper Don Toliver and wife Hailey Bieber, as well as friend Jaden Smith; a few days earlier model Hailey Bieber posted a sweet tribute to her husband, “29 never looked so good ☺️Happy Birthday to you best friend!” she wrote. “Words couldn’t possibly sum up all that you embody. So here’s to more joy, more travel, yummy food, adventures, more peace, fun, and most of all more love.”
A second set of pics features a run of goofing around shots of Bieber and The Kid LAROI and the “Peaches” singer sitting in for another set during the party, while the third catches JB performing as his pals sit on rainbow-colored pillows on the ground, with some rocking a commemorative “Bieber 29” hoodie.
It proved to be a busy weekend for JB, who also found time to take the stage with Toliver during the rapper’s set a the 2023 Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles on Saturday, where the friends reprised their collaboration on “Private Landing” from Toliver’s new Love Sick album.
All this activity came just days after Bieber appeared to pull the plug on all the rescheduled and remaining dates on his Justice World tour with no public explanation. While the singer has not yet spoken about the tour news, he removed the list of 80 dates with no explanation last week; at press time no tour dates were listed on Bieber’s official site and his spokesperson had not returned Billboard‘s request for comment. Last week Ticketmaster’s site listed all the 2023 Justice dates as canceled just as Bieber was slated to pick things up again with a March 2 date in Dublin.
In June, Bieber told fans that he would take a break from the road after one month of dates because of the effects of the neurological disorder Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, which left his face partially paralyzed. “As a result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour,” he wrote in a message to fans at the time. Bieber went on to explain that after taking some time to rest and consult with his family and doctors, he went ahead with the European leg of his tour.
“After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now,” he explained about how he felt after completing his Rock in Rio set in September. “So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better.”
He got back on the stage a month later, but after just six shows he said he need to take a break again. The AEG Presents-promoted Justice tour was Bieber’s first global outing since the 2016-2017 Purpose World Tour. It was unclear at press time if Bieber’s tour cancelation was related to his recovery from Ramsay-Hunt.

The show had plenty of birthday-themed moments, including when the crowd broke out into the “Happy Birthday” song. While Styles tried to playfully hush his fans at first, he ultimately gave in to the love and is seen smiling wide on videos captured and posted on Twitter.
“Obviously, I have a fear of people not coming to my birthday party. So, I just thought I would do a show and maybe you might come,” the Grammy winner told fans in another clip. Later on, Styles blew out candles on a cake and even sported a floppy birthday hat.
The superstar is nominated in Big Four categories at the 65th annual Grammy Awards, set for Feb. 5 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. He’s up for six awards total, including album, record and song of the year for Harry’s House and “As It Was,” respectively.
Styles will also be performing at the Grammy Awards, along with Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy and Sam Smith & Kim Petras. Styles performed “Watermelon Sugar” on the Grammy telecast two years ago. He also won his first Grammy for the track – best pop solo performance.

“The person who keeps me laughing and creating and risking it all,” she continued. “The person who makes the ordinary extraordinary. You know who you are. I love you.” JT responded with a trio of heart eye emoji.
Back in October, Justin did the honors when he celebrated a decade of marriage to the Candy star in a post, writing, “10 years ain’t enough.” He added, “You make me a better husband and father every day! I love you so much you beautiful human! Run it back!” Timberlake and Biel began dating in 2007 and were married on Oct. 19, 2012, in Fasano, Italy. They have two children together, both boys: 7-year-old Silas and 2-year-old Phineas.
JT’s fans have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up to 2018’s Man of the Woods album. And while the singer has not formally announced his next project, back in Dec. 2021, his longtime collaborator and good friend producer Timbaland made it seem like they were cooking up some fresh tunes. As it turned out, the secret project they were working on was the Ant Clemons collab “Better Days,” which was part of President Joe Biden’s “Celebrating America” inauguration concert prime time special.

Being a new father is not stopping Diddy from being there for the rest of his children. He recently gave his twin daughters matching range rovers for their birthday.
As spotted on Madame Noir the entertainment mogul made sure to make his twins’ special day even more special. Last weekend D’Lila Star Combs and Jessie James Combs celebrated their 16th birthdays together and he gave them a brand new Range Rover each. The luxury automobiles were contrasting in color with one having a black interior with white exterior and the other having a white interior and black exterior. Naturally the young ladies were floored by their dad’s over the top gifts. In footage captured from the event the two are seen covering their mouths in shock.

Their celebration in question seemed to be one for the record books as the Combs girls did outfit changes in theme with outer space. Coi Leray was in attendance and was giving a play by play via TikTok. “Okay, first of all, the twins sweet 16 — we are going crazy” she exclaimed. “The twins are about to take over 2023!”

Charlie Puth celebrated his 31st birthday on Friday (Dec. 2) by going public with his new relationship on social media.
The pop star shared a photo of himself adorably cuddled up with his girlfriend in a series of black-and-white photo-booth snaps. “Ohhhhh I’m NOT a loser…’cause I didn’t lose her!!! (Happy birthday to me.)” he captioned the post, referencing the lyrics to the fan-favorite song “Loser” from his latest album Charlie.
While Puth didn’t tag the woman in the photo, Instagram sleuths determined the singer’s lady love was Brooke Sansone. The stylish brunette, who runs the Instagram account @theeclosetnextdoor, shared the same photo in her Instagram Stories with the caption, “birthday boy @charlieputh” using a white-heart emoji.
Just before Thanksgiving, the “Left and Right” crooner performed a tribute to Lionel Richie with Stevie Wonder at the 2022 American Music Awards, complete with a superstar rendition of “We Are the World” featuring Ari Lennox, Melissa Etheridge, Yola, Muni Long, Smokey Robinson, Jimmie Allen and more.
On the red carpet for the awards show, Puth opened up exclusively to Billboard about finding success on TikTok, saying, “The yearn to collaborate” was what drew him to the social media platform in the first place.
“I remember being a 16-year-old kid on YouTube and just hoping and praying that I could one day collaborate with someone online and make music with them,” he added. “and the fact that, well everybody, kids of all ages are coming up to me, asking me to collaborate with them through the means of online communication, that’s pretty special and very full-circle.”

Diddy rang in his 53rd birthday on Friday (Nov. 4) by, well, celebrating himself, of course.
In a video posted to his Twitter account, the rapper lays in bed while being the first person to wish himself a happy birthday in song. “Happy birthday to me/ Happy birthday to me/ Happy birthday to meeee/ Happy birthday…to…me!” he sings with increasing enthusiasm before excitedly shouting, “Thank you God! I lived another year! Woo!”
“THANK YOU GOD FOR LETTING ME WAKE UP LIKE THIS!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! LOVE! LOVE!! LOVE,” he captioned the post followed by a series of emojis.
For his big day, the mogul appears to have gifted himself multiple cannabis companies in New York, Illinois and Massachusetts, thereby priming him to head the largest Black-owned cannabis business in the country (according to a report by Los Angeles-based radio station REAL 92.3 that Diddy shared to his Instagram Story).
Last month, Diddy fought back against allegations made by Ma$e that he exploited artists signed to Bad Boy Records, and turned the tables by claiming the “Feel So Good” rapper actually owed him $3 million for an advance on an album that was never created.
In a private exchange leaked by Kanye West on social media just a few days later, Diddy also attempted to get through to the embattled Yeezy founder with his advice not to sell the “White Lives Matter” shirts Ye presented — and wore — at Paris Fashion Week.
