Many of these films also got some Oscar love in this category — but not all.

From Farruko to Kim Richards and Indiomar, here is a list of the 15 best Christian songs in Spanish this year.
Like Pearl Harbor and 9/11, the assassination of President Kennedy was one of those stunning events where, if you were alive at the time, you will always remember where you were when you heard the news. Many pop songs have referenced President Kennedy, and more than a few have dealt with the circumstances of his […]

Jon Batiste got some very good news on Friday (Nov. 10). World Music Radio, his follow-up to We Are, which won album of the year at the Grammy Awards two years ago, was nominated in that same category.
The victory for We Are two years ago surprised most observers, as did the nomination this year for World Music Radio. The album has so far peaked at No. 104 on the Billboard 200.
In the Grammysâ 66-year history, 20 follow-ups to album of the year winners have been nominated for that same award. Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Adele each did it multiple times.
The follow-ups to several other recent album of the year winners have been nominated in their own right, including Billie Eilishâs Happier Than Ever, her follow-up to When We All Asleep, Where Do We Go?, and Taylor Swiftâs evermore, her follow-up to Folklore. (The fact that the number of nominees in each of the Big Four categories expanded from five to eight in 2018, and went as high as 10 before dropping back to eight again this year, is one of the reasons for this, along with Grammy votersâ longtime tendency to stick with a familiar favorite.)
Note: Before 1970, artists often released multiple albums in the same Grammy eligibility year. In some cases, the albums we show were not the artistsâ direct follow-up albums, but they were released in the following eligibility year. For example, Barbra Streisandâs follow-up to the Grammy-winning The Barbra Streisand Album was The Second Barbra Streisand Album, which was released in the same eligibility year (1963). In the following eligibility year, she released The Third Album, followed by People. The latter got an album of the year nod. Since it was the very next year after she won, weâre counting it. It doesnât seem fair to leave artists out of the conversation just because at that time, albums were released at what we would now consider a torrid pace.
Meanwhile, weâre still waiting for the follow-up albums to three album of the year winners â Lauryn Hillâs The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Bruno Marsâ 24K Magic and Harry Stylesâ Harryâs House.
Here are all the follow-ups (or following year releases) to album of the year Grammy winners that were nominated in that same category. We show the title of the follow-up that was nominated in this category, mention the Grammy winner for album of the year that it followed, and reveal how this follow-up did in the category.

You may be aware that Brooks & Dunn and Vince Gill are tied for the most CMA Awards wins with 18 each. But Brooks & Dunn won most of their awards, and Gill won all of his, in the last century. So who leads for the most awards won in this century? We have prepared a list of everyone who has won five or more CMA Awards since 2000.
The 57th annual CMA Awards are set to air Wednesday, Nov. 8, on ABC. Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning will co-host the show for a second year in a row. It will be held at its usual home, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Lainey Wilson â who won two awards, including new artist of the year, last year â is this yearâs top nominee, with nine nods. If she wins just three of them, sheâll join this list of artists who have won five or more CMA Awards in this century.
Weâll get to the list, we promise, but first, to tease you just a bit more, we have four lists of all-time CMA winners: The five acts with the most wins are Brooks & Dunn and Vince Gill (18 each), George Strait (17), Alan Jackson (16) and Chris Stapleton (15).
The six female solo artists with the most wins are Miranda Lambert (14), Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift (nine each), Loretta Lynn (eight), and Alison Krauss and Carrie Underwood (seven each).
The five groups with the most wins are The Chicks (10), Alabama and The Statler Brothers (nine each), Little Big Town (eight) and Rascal Flatts (seven).
The five duos with the most wins are Brooks & Dunn (18), The Judds (nine), Brothers Osborne (six), Sugarland (five) and Florida Georgia Line (four).
OK, youâve waited long enough. Hereâs an updated list of everyone who has won five or more CMA Awards in this century.

Swift’s debut album was the seventh-highest new entry on the Billboard 200. That may be the last time this perennial winner had the seventh-highest anything.

As Doja Catâs âPaint the Town Red,â with its prominent sample of Dionne Warwickâs âWalk on By,â tops the Billboard Hot 100 for the third nonconsecutive week (on the chart dated Oct. 14), you may be wondering how many weeks âWalk on Byâ spent at No. 1. Would you believe none? The Burt Bacharach/Hal David […]

A&M Records is one of the most successful and admired labels in music history. A&M had more than 100 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1962, when Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss founded the label, and 1989, when they sold it to PolyGram NV. The labelâs first top 10 hit was Alpert & the Tijuana Brassâ bullfight-inspired instrumental âThe Lonely Bull,â which reached No. 6 in December 1962. Its last in the years Alpert and Moss owned the label was Janet Jacksonâs âMiss You Much,â which logged four weeks at No. 1 in October 1989.
As the industry continues to mourn Mossâ death on Wednesday (Aug. 16) at age 88, we give you this list of A&Mâs 50 biggest hits in the 27 years that Alpert and Moss owned the label. Carpenters have eight entries on the list, followed by Jackson, with six; Captain & Tennille, with four; Billy Preston and Styx, with three each; and Alpert, The Human League, Breathe and Simple Minds, with two each. (Sting has two if you combined one solo hit and one megahit with The Police.)
The sale to PolyGram NV, announced in October 1989, became effective in January 1990. Alpert and Moss stayed on after the sale, but it wasnât quite the same. Gil Friesen, who became A&Mâs second employee in 1964 and succeeded Moss as president in 1977, resigned in April 1990. Others followed. After the sale, A&M became a little less special, a little more corporate. On June 18, 1993, Alpert and Moss left A&M which now operated as a division of PolyGram. The glory days of the label were when it was an indie â initially the little label that could â that earned the admiration of the industry.
For the record, A&M had more than 40 additional top 10 hits on the Hot 100 after Alpert and Moss relinquished ownership, including No. 1s by Jackson, Amy Grant, Extreme, Bryan Adams, Fergie and Maroon 5.
Methodology: Songs, which peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1962, when A&M was founded, and the end of 1989, when Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss sold the label to PolyGram, are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at No. 100 earning the least. To ensure equitable representation of the biggest hits from each era, certain time frames were weighted to account for the difference between turnover rates from those years.
