Queer pop icons Scissor Sisters have announced a 2025 reunion tour slated to hit the U.K. and Ireland. The concerts will be their first since they went on hiatus in 2012 and will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, which went to No.1 in the U.K. upon release.

After teasing a comeback by projecting their iconic logo onto arenas across the U.K. in recent days, the band have shared the full run of dates they’ll be performing next year. The tour will begin on May 16 with a show in Nottingham and continue on to Glasgow, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Manchester, London, Leeds, Birmingham, Belfast before concluding in Dublin on May 28. See the full run of dates below. Tickets will go on sale on Nov. 8 from the band’s official website.
The group – composed of Jake Shears (vocals), Babydaddy (bass) and Del Marquis (guitar) – also confirmed that former bandmate Ana Matronic will not be a part of the reunion. A statement to accompany the announcement says that vocalist Matronic “has decided not to join the tour as she has other projects she is focusing on right now.”

“We’ve spent a lot of time collectively thinking about what we can add to our show that isn’t a ‘replacement’ for Ana in any way,” Marquis adds. “She’s part of the spirit of this band and we want to honour that.”
Matronic has responded to the news on her social media profile: “People familiar with my story and career arc will know that in the heart of this Showgirl lies a giant Nerd. In the past decade my Nerd self has taken the wheel and is now driving my career. I am currently finishing production on the first season of my history podcast Good Time Sallies which has grown into several long-term research & writing projects.”
She added: “With contracts signed and schedules agreed on these commitments, the timing of a Scissor reunion does not allow me to join my former bandmates on this tour. I wish the band and our fans all the best – I will be there in spirit to kiki with you!”
The group are planning to perform their 2004 debut Scissor Sisters in full alongside a selection of tracks from their three other studio efforts, 2006’s Ta-Dah, 2010’s Night Work and 2012’s Magic Hour. Scissor Sisters was the U.K.’s best-selling album in 2004 and has racked up more than three million in sales globally.
Speaking to The Independent, the band explained further why they decided to bring the anniversary celebrations and reunion to the U.K and Ireland. “The U.K. has always been a place where you don’t really have to fit into something that already exists,” said Marquis. “They appreciate idiosyncrasy, and appreciate a character, a personality. If anything can be said about our band, it’s that it’s not really like any other band. We didn’t make sense anywhere else, and it’s just like we clicked here.”

Diplo isn’t afraid to take a taste on the wild side. After Ludacris gained traction last month for checking a major item off his bucket list when he sampled some pure Alaskan glacial water, Diplo figured if it’s good enough for Luda, it’s good enough for me.

In a 20-second video posted on Tuesday night (Sept. 3) the DJ/producer is seen bundled up and kneeling on a glacier as a he dips a silver cup into the clear blue water in an undisclosed location. “Gonna try this glacier water,” he narrates as he dunks his glass in for a healthy fill-up. “Oh that’s good boy, bottoms up!”
The clip, which features a text overlay reading “this glacier water is ludacris,” also has the disclaimer: “it’s clean everyone, it’s literally clear.”

The stunt came a few weeks after Ludacris drew concern, and some condemnation, following his recent trip to Alaska, which included a sip of Alaskan glacial water. “Half of the world’s glaciers are here in Alaska. I couldn’t come here and just have a show. You know I got a bucket list — or as I like to call it the f— it list,” Luda said in his video. ” I’ve never tasted fresh glacial water in my life and this is a first. Here we go.”
After taking his slug, Luda ended the video with a cliffhanger in which he said, “Oh my God.” Commenters noted that glacier water can reportedly contain some dangerous bacteria, parasites and viruses, which are invisible to the eye and can cause serious health issues if ingested without purification.
Luda gave an update a few days later, assuring fans that as a “water snob” he could definitively say it was the, “best tasting water I’ve ever had in my life and as I drank it I felt like every cell in my human body was being hydrated and rejuvenated at the same damn time… Listen man, I’m here. I feel like Superman.”
Commenters on Diplo’s post had similar concerns, including: “Hows it clean if everyone walks with dirty boots?,” “Diplo about to be dumplo for 2-5 weeks,” “But what if a polar bear just dipped his b–ls in it?” and “how’s the diarrhea bud?”

A small brush fire near the Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA on Saturday (July 6) near the end of a show by ODESZA was sparked by on-stage pyrotechnics. The unlikely second act of Sophie Ellis-Bextor‘s 2001 dance pop jam “Murder on the Dancefloor” will get one more spin in the spotlight when the singer performs the song at the upcoming BAFTA Film Awards 2024. The English singer/songwriter’s tune got an unexpected boost when it was featured in the BAFTA-nominated hit Saltburn.
The 23-year-old song co-written by Ellis-Bextor and New Radicals frontman Gregg Alexander for the singer’s debut album, Read My Lips, matched its U.K. chart heights earlier this month when it hit No. 2 on the British pop charts while also debuting at No. 98 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated Jan. 13.
“I am so excited. I will be performing at the EE BAFTAs 2024,” the singer said in an Instagram video announcement. The BAFTA Awards will air on Feb. 18 on BBC One and iPlayer and BritBox in North America. “I’m already practicing some looks and I cannot wait,” she added.
The nudisco jam “became one of the most talked about moments in cinema this year and a viral sensation, taking the song back into the music charts 22 years after the first release of the song,” BAFTA said in a statement according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Old and new fans are streaming the track which is being used as a trending audio for millions of videos on Instagram and TikTok and [it] continues to mark new achievements on Spotify, YouTube and TikTok globally alongside newfound success in America, where it entered the Billboard Top 100 for the first time and continues to climb.”
The divisive murder sex drama starring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant was nominated for five BAFTA Awards, including best actor in leading role for Keoghan, best supporting actor for Elordi, best actress for Pike, best original score for Anthony Willis and outstanding British film.
Speaking to Billboard earlier this month about the unexpected revival of the tune, Ellis-Bextor said, “That song took me places I’d never been before, and it was always quite a special one for me. [It] took me to Latin America and Southeast Asia and all around Europe — it was already a song I associated with adventure and new things and a friendly, glorious chapter of my life.”
But the song crashing the Billboard charts, she said, was “glorious, it’s magical, really. But it’s very hard to process, if I’m honest.”
Watch Ellis-Bextor announce the good news below.
When you think of love songs, artists like Frank Sinatra, Etta James, The Beatles, Al Green and Dolly Parton are probably among the first that come to mind. Sure, it is country, pop and R&B that have seen most of the biggest hits under the everlasting theme — but “love songs” encompass much more than just sentimental ballads.
EDM may have a reputation for heavy bass drops and addictive synth beats, but a growing number of dance tracks feature thoughtful and emotional lyrics, too. Several top 10s have proven EDM’s reach goes beyond the club and rave scenes. DJs like Calvin Harris have made the genre more accessible to all music lovers — with Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Frank Ocean and Migos being among the collaborators who’ve brought vocals to his skillful arrangements.
When words and EDM’s trademark pulsing beats join forces, it’s no surprise that love is among the most popular subjects. Whether the lyrics detail finding your soulmate or realizing you still having feelings for the one that got away, there are hundreds of electronic tracks pinpointing the fuzzy feeling you get when you’re around that special someone. Billboard has narrowed them down and put together a list of our favorite EDM love songs of all time.
Let’s be honest, saying “I love you” doesn’t always come easy. Or if it does, it can be hard to show it. Thankfully, music is there to do the work for you – or at least encourage you to show the one you love just how much you care. Listen to 55 dance-ready ways to say those three little words below.
